For several years I have been testing songs using this website. They offered their Diamond membership for $99.00 for the year (Normally $199.00) and I figured it a good way to test out songs I intended to release. For the most part, the website is self-sustaining. Many issues you may have on set up are easily overcome with the interface. While the interface can be painfully slow by today's standards, the $99.00 price made it seem bearable. Unfortunately there are problems that cannot be overcome.
First, when considering the Diamond membership, its very easy to purchase. Clear directions to get your money exists. However, asking for a refund or cancelling the plan is very troublesome. Why? There is no definite way to do this EXCEPT through their "customer support" (more on them in a minute) The website says the right thing, advising you that should you want to cancel it will be done right away. But in actuality, this is far from true.
When you need customer support for ANY reason, good luck getting a response. This ultimately is the downfall of the site. I wanted to make changes to my home page that requires having a picture. There is no guide as to the dimensions of the picture needed. I reached out to them several times and got NO RESPONSE. Since there is no indication of where they are located, I thought MAYBE they are in Europe. It did not seem to be an American company based on some language on the site. Due to no response, I wondered if this might be a country that is at war and the site was running on it's own.
Finally, after 4 messages and a couple of weeks, I advised that I needed a response or I would need to close my account. Since I had two accounts with them that were premium memberships, you would think someone would respond. Not a peep. After a week went by, I finally submitted a request to close my account. They clearly state where to go to cancel your account, but when you go there, it goes back to the same page that states this information. So, it's an endless loop. Days went by without any response from them. Then 1 day before they were supposed to renew one account, they initiated a payment from my card. You might ask, why didn't I remove my card BEFORE they put the charge through. Simple answer: once you provide your card info, there is NO PLACE TO CHANGE THE INFO on their site.
I immediately contacted my bank and paypal (what I used to do this transaction). I showed them proof that I had requested the account to be cancelled and got no response. Paypal cancelled their charge and any future charges from this company. Still, I received no communication from this company.
To this day, I have not heard from them. One thing DID happen though, when the charge was refused, they changed my membership status and privileges which means someone saw my correspondence and made a decision not to contact me.
Using this site is not worth the risk to your finances. I was able to get my money returned because I used a buffer (paypal) to my actual account, but as you will read, many people have not had the same experience. There is not enough benefit (career exposure) to putting your money at risk. Find another company. Avoid this archaic one at all costs.
It's a scam.plain and simple. There's nobody to speak with and they don't get back to you. And as far as I can see, there's no way to have your music removed.
I have a law firm on retainer and they are being charged with getting this fraud company exposed and freeing my music from them.
This site is nonsense. The fan profiles are fake. The charts are fake. Some the artists on there aren't even real. It's probably the worst example of music promotion scam I've witnessed as artist. Thankfully I was warned off by others and never paid them any money. They still endlessly pester you for cash, send junk mail and refuse to remove your profile and data.
I cant stop my account. I wrote them various times. Even the name of this few songs I named STOP ACOUNT. I dont want a premium ( pay for it) and therefore wanted to stop.
And still no reaction...
They took info from my Soundcloud account and now they're pestering me with junk emails about people wanting to use my music. Probably just full of bots that try to play to your ego. Sites like these should be shut down permanently. Don't give them ANYTHING!
I can confirm that I never created an account on this website. I believe they scrapped my Soundcloud profile data and created the account for me and keep sending me scam emails over and over to promote my music tracks on their platform. I suggest you use the website yourdigitalrights.org to make them erase your personal data, if they don't comply in 30 days you can legally sue them.
I get emails from them about my account that is done in such a way that it seems I once signed up to them. I can edit my "profile" even though I've never signed up or logged in.
They have clearly trawled through leaked data and gleaned enough information to make an acceptable looking profile. Absolute RIP to anyone who's actually engaged with the site or paid any money to it.
There must be a way to make them stop. It's an infringement of musicians' right to have their brand represented. Scum. Scam.
They won't let you deactivate your account and delete your profile.
But they keep sending spam with fake messages
Truely one of the most terrible platforms I ever witnessed
This site is pretty ridiculous. Between the fake number of song plays and the fabricated fans. The so called fans send you gracious praise but it's all so fake. Then bands boast that this site is producing thousands of paid downloads. Enough already.
This site is the most the fake and disrespectful thing I have ever come across as an Artist. We all work very hard to make our music and look for any outlet to help get heard. Yet this site not only charges insane $ to be a member for the year, but after that your bitcoins just vanish and there is absolutely no Rhyme or Reason to it. Even after paying premium prices if you want to send a email blast to your network of fans they want to charge you for that. So which leads me to current situation. I was #1 and #6 in all genres in New York and I got fed up with the site and how they operate. Absolutely nothing adds up. You put a price per track how much you want to spend. So say you have two songs in campaign at 25$ a piece, you can have over 200$ in your account and after you blink and earn the money magically is gone. I'm talking in minutes. So I blasted them out in my Bio and now their black balling everything I do. Watch. I'm going at them.
This is a great platform for artist that want to provide a link for local/global fans. I can recall countless moments when I randomly met a soul and we connected, I would always send them this link to access my music. I haven't even purchased the premium. However, my music that I posted is still there and people still can go listen for free great promotional tool when you're on the rise like knee highs! My grind with this music has been a real one. As an artist I'm pretty sure I can leverage an audience with this platform. I remember when my homie first told me about it. I met him in real life and he used this platform. I think people are critical because they expect sites to do the work for them. You have to go out and touch somebody. My aim is to do just that with my artistry. So *******@Numberonemusic one day I'm going to do real business with you guys and I have faith that we can do great things. Peace&
This site is nothing but a scam and full of fake users who PM you with fake messages about liking all your music.
I put up one song which was a cover version and I got told how original and great my music was and they all wanted to buy it. There was nothing to buy, no albums.
Fake as a strippers tits!
All artists recieve the same messages from the same people saying the same thing. You get no interaction after the fake messages arrive. And everyone is told that they are currently# 3-60 in their state and they should buy more sote currency to promote further.
I am not too sure what's happening here really...
I joined N1M music around 18 months ago, the free version. They DID NOT pesture me for buying their service. I have 500 Mail-Subscribers and 32 Influencers.
I have fans messaging me on a daily basis, and I am able to actively interact with them at no cost.
All this and I haven't paid a dime! I am able to Log In without issues... They send me the ocassional offer saying there's a offer if you're interested.
I've actually got people telling me 'I'm the next big thing''
So, I aint too sure what these other people are talking about? Maybe they ain't good enough?
I am having problems uploading new music. Says I have reached my limit though I upgraded. No support whatsoever!
Notice that your name is never mentioned, or rarely mentioned in these bogus messages. They are all geared to get you to upgrade services. You do not need NumberOneMusic.com.
I've been using N1M for a couple years as a free account, 3 uploads allowed. I would get messages from my "fans" or "subscribers" asking me to upload more songs or how they can buy my songs. I would reply, but never got a subsequent reply. I had a feeling they were a scam, but just let it slide. So, I transferred all of the "emails" from my "Subs" to excel just to test it. I then sent 400 emails to see what would happen... and go figure... they all came back as "address not found." What a scam! It is bad enough how music makers get screwed from these streaming services like Spotify and the sorts... but now we have to endure scammers like this? Keep it up A-Holes, and we music makers will stop sharing.
I have my entire catalog on Numberonemusic
I think they helping anyone whom music speaks for itself.
I really hope they start creating Really great authentic artwork making it easier to drop music
Will delete my account again. Had a free account but despite a lot of contacts and comments, almost all questions to the "nice" people with their great comments went unanswered. The blogger & fan profiles are strangely sparsely presented. Have referred to my web & purchase page to hear more songs. But couldn't find any increased traffic on any of them. Not even significantly more sales as most of them had enthusiastically assured me. For me, N1M looks for a fraudulent site, which is controlled with AI / bots etc. Better invest your energy and money elsewhere.
Answer: Because it's true, they're not a legitimate site. I'm experiencing the same things these people are! Now I don't feel so bad about what they did to me! I don't have time to tell you everything I experienced, but, for one thing, I tried to change my e-mail address to a more convenient address, then suddenly, my site completely disappears! I'm sure hoping they aren't trying to steal my authorships to my songs. They wouldn't get very far with my songs anyway. I have them copyrighted in my name in the Library of Congress. I can get an attorney if I see this happening.
