I have been trying to get a refunder returned good for quite some time. The company has confirmed that the good have been returned in good condition and that they will process the refund. No sign of the refund in my account and the company have just stopped responding to my emails.

I think this is a business that is either a scam or in financial trouble. I would not recommend using them.

Update: Since I posted this review Northbound have sprung into action and responded to my emails and sent the refund that they promised. It is a shame that I have to resort to negative reviews to get their attention.

Ordered product, months go by no product sent, nothing but excuses from the emails the company answers. They are not in Canada, their office doesn't exist, I went there, empty shell of a building. They refuse to refund. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM, BUYER BEWARE! FALSE SHIPPING LABELS GET CREATED, NO PRODUCT SHIPPED, FAKE EASTERN STANDARD TIME BUSINESS HOURS, FAKE PHONE NUMBER, FRAUD ALERT!

Sadly paid over 300 for three pairs of pants and ordered based on their size chart. I didn't think the return policy for such expensive items would be such crap. I could not even get my calf through the pants. The pants must have been sized for Asia, who knows. Now I have to pay the return shipping from the US to CA. There was no way I was going to try to order other pairs and risk them not fitting. Not transparent ordering if outside CA.

I ordered one and got it ok. I liked it so I ordered a second one. It's been almost a month and I still haven't received it. They seem to have regular delivery issues based on other feedback as well

When I first learned about Northbound Gear, I wasn't sure if I should purchase from them. I had done some research online and saw some negative reviews from people saying it was a scam. This was contrasted with others expressing their love for the products. So, I took a gamble and bought a pair of pants. I can tell you that my experience was pleasant; so much so, that I have bought another pair since then!

Do not buy from this company if you live in the US, and do not trust the return process. I probably spent half a day, in total, with filling out custom forms and paying close to $30.00 to return a pair of pants to Canada. The company seems thorough clueless about providing a good buying experience. I had to send six emails in order finally to get 80% of my money back. Buyer beware.

I ordered the mens water resistant fleece lined pants. I am a woman 4'11" and about 115lb. I ordered mens because the smallest sizing on the inseam was 28" and I am a 24"inseam (the woman's only went to 30", odd...) I got these pants for low to moderate hikes in the forest, temp +15 to -10, but mostly because I am a photographer who lays on the ground in the wet soggy west coast earth to capture the forest's beauty and was tired of getting wet. I DO NOT get wet anymore. I am not over heated and I am not cold. I do ware a light long john under them because I typically get cold easily. The outer material is flexible and tough. I LOVE the deep zip-up pockets and the zipper at the bottom of the leg. The fleece is soft and not too think. I got a medium waist(30") but could have fit a smaller 28". Even though the medium is a bit less fitted there is NO concern with them riding down the waist always sits where it should while bending and squatting. They took about 2.5 weeks to get to me, well worth the wait. Now I want a jacket for the muck at a similar price point. ( am getting my husband a summer pair.should be here soon) I would like to order a woman's pair as well, because they look so nice.

Made in China. Extremely disappointed I ordered from this company.

This latest order was my third pair of pants, I love them that much. And customer service is great, after I ordered, I realized I was duplicating the colour of my previous order, quickly emailed a request to change the colour, response was positive and quick. And delivery was speedy as well.

The best thing about Northbound Gear is the Customer Service. No matter what time I sent an email, I had a response within 3 minutes. I don't know of any other company that responds that quickly (from an actual human being, not a bot). Impressive.

After purchasing a women's weatherproof tactical jacket that needed to be exchanged for the next size up, I learned the hard way about returning anything to this company located in Canada. Although they ship from companies in the US, a product has to be returned to their home base in British Columbia, Canada. Thus begins an involved process at a USPS that essentially cost me half the price of the jacket. Had I known that ahead of time, I would have tried to sell it to someone in my area that hikes regularly and just purchased myself a new one. It took a very long time to be processed upon return to the company as it has to be "inspected", approved/accepted for return before a replacement will even be shipped. It was easily several weeks before my new jacket arrived yesterday. This is not that company that has spoiled us here in the US.
As for the jacket quality, I wore it for a quick walk late yesterday afternoon. I wore a cotton turtleneck and light sweatshirt figuring the fleece-lined interior would keep me warm in the 32°F crisp air. Although I walked briskly, I still felt a chill on my arms. I will definitely have to layer with a merino wool and heavier sweatshirt. It could be that this jacket is constructed more for when it's raining rather than when it's cold. Given the need for layering, I probably should have purchased an even bigger size to accommodate the extra clothes. The jacket is outfitted with several pockets to keep cell phones and key fobs dry in wet weather. I'm hopeful that it will earn the high-praise reviews I read that persuaded me to buy not only one for myself but one for my partner. I also purchased 2 pairs of the weatherproof pants. I hope these will prove worthy of the positive reviews too.

I was kept updated on delivery often, the pants are awesome. It just needs to rain so I can try them out

The order took too much time. Communication, and tracking the order was not appropriate.

Was displeasantly surprised when I had to pay for return shipping that cost half what the item cost to return plus a restocking fee.

Clothes fit according to size without needing alterations.

The outdoors/ snow pants I ordered were a good quality, but I ordered too small. They were delivered from NJ but had to be returned to Canada. That was $23 (US dollars) plus $5 restock free. Was going to exchange (free shipping delivery) but wouldn't risk needing to return if fit wasn't right.
