Nextdoor has a rating of 1.7 stars from 3,044 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Nextdoor most frequently mention social media, real name and free speech. Nextdoor ranks 27th among Social Network sites.
In our area, Nextdoor has been hijacked by the crazies, including anti-vaxxers, out of the mainstream political types, and chronic complainers. Very little useful information of discussion occurs. The moderators do not seem to be able to handle (or do not want to) the covid misinformation being posted. Very poor.
NextDoor will suspend your account if, in regard to local crime, you write...
"[V]iolent crime rates are doubled for patients with schizophrenia and bipolar mood disorders and tripled for those with unipolar depression" [1]. "[A]round 10% of the patients with schizophrenia or other psychotic disorders behave violently, compared with less than 2% of the general public".[2]

I figured an app that lets you discuss things with neighbors would be a great idea. I joined and deactivated my account after 5 minutes. Take all the worst boomers you can find on Facebook and that's what NextDoor is. It's filled with conspiracy theories, racism, and folks who never finished high school giving their "expert opinion" on COVID19. Maybe have each street elect a representative and not let everyone post whatever is on their minds?
Origin of site is San Francisco All democrats & liberals say what ever they want opposing their narrative of lies and misinformation gets you kicked off. They are trolling for weak minded easy marks to turn with absolutely ridicules lies and misinformation. It's a total sham. Don't waste your time it's a joke full of anti American biden lovers. Your full name is required unless you're a democrat or liberal. Lars P is proof of that. Him and several other democrats/liberals don't have to have full name?! Liberals and democrats will love their like minded criteria. If you are a trump supporter they delete you immediately!
After giving Nextdoor a try (Business Account) I had one local neighbor private message me not happy that I promote my business. I blocked that user. 1 month later my business account was locked for 30 days for promotion my business on a BUSINESS PAGE?
We support businesses as a business owner and admin two FBook pages that allow businesses to promote their business. I don't understand entities that do not support growth. As soon as I am able to get back in I will be deleting my account.
I met a couple of nice people but over all people are mean and don't care for others. I was called names because I had a difference of opinion (a troll)...)
I have not been able to verify my account so that I can create a new post. The links on my account do not work so I can't even start the verification process. I have been trying to do this for weeks. When I submit my need for customer support on this issue, I only get a canned response that does not address my issue. Then it says I can chat with a live person but that link does not work either. I am going to stop using Nextdoor. They claim world class customer service. I don't know what world they are living in.
What a horrible application. People have sent me information on NextDoor.com and I have never been able to display them, much less read or share the information. Worthless app.
I used to love nextdoor, but now all people want to argue about is politics. You have one side making the most heinous claims, yet rarely do their accounts face suspensions or bans. However, anything considered to be 'conservative' is muted in a blink of an eye.
This is an alert to be aware of Nextdoor's seemingly totalitarian agenda and to take screenshots of any comments or posts you make there to help document their Big Brother/Operation Mockingbird censorship to others on all your social media.
What are they trying to desperately hide?
To me, arguments must be pretty weak if all Nextdoor can do is delete comments, block posts, and promote "official propaganda". I wouldn't be surprised if Nextdoor is used, if not developed, by covert intelligence sources to keep track of everything people say, do, and think. Their cultivated "snitch culture" reminds me of the Stasi in East Germany.
Beware!
Again, take screenshots and get the word out about what a growing number of people are referring to as "Nextdoor Nazi."
I've had nothing but trouble accessing my account because of their security which is excessive in my opinion. They insist on sending a verification code to the email address I provided without doing any verification of the email in advance. I put in an incorrect email address by mistake and didn't realize it until I wasn't able to get their code. As a result I missed a chance at selling an item I posted because I wasn't able to reply to an inquiry on it. When I contacted their "support" team, my complaint was ignored and I was instead told why passwords are important, as if I'd never seen a computer before in my life.
Now I've moved and can't change my address because their extreme security. Even after replying with the security code that was sent to my cell phone, they refuse to allow me to change my address.
Being banned for leaving a laughing emoji. Some crazy woman on my neighborhood app reports literally EVERYTHING I say or do on the app. Non of which is mean or hateful. I try to help in any situation. She however has been stalking me from almost day one. And the moderators see this and ban me for 3 days. What a joke!
I have given this sorry excuse of a social app a try, to get my small business out there. It was a challenge promoting anything because of their overly strict policies about promoting. You're only allotted 2 posts per month followed by any "ads" you want to create for a ridiculous hefty fee. The chances of getting those ads or promo posts seen, is the same as somebody in Hell asking for ice water. Your posts gets over taken by obnoxious neighbors posting about useless crap and complaints, which I find easy to get over. On my business account I created a weekly ad and paid the atrocious fee. A couple of days later, I posted a pic on my personal account that was irrelevant to my business. However, Nextdoor took this pic post as soliciting and breaking their guidelines. Without any warning, Thet disabled my account and took the money. My weekly ad never ran it's course.
I am so frustrated with this app. It is impossible to cancel sell for good or any other settings. I had sell for good set and I want to cancel it and I cannot find any menu that allows you to do that. The menus take you around in circles. Their political leaning and bias seep into their everyday interactions with members. Typical Bay Area intolerant leftist culture that gets you banned because some or other wokel had their feelings hurt. They need to cater to all.
I post my concerns and a lot of people commenting but unfortunately the post removed without any notice. No professionalism to let consumer the problem need to be edited or whatever has to let us know first so we have any clue regarding the problem or our mistakes in posting.
If I could give zero stars, I would. I have been trying to get assistance from Nextdoor Support since November 3rd. As of November 8th, all of my emails and support tickets have been ignored. There's no phone number to reach a ND representative, only support tickets, which means we are completely at their mercy. This is completely unacceptable. If we could stop using ND, we would, only our business listings would remain (you can't remove them) which means false or non-updated information may occur which is not best practice for our clients.
If you dont fall in line with their moderators from out of state, they will ban or suspend you for no reason other then responding to others questions, civilly. This is no different then facebook now. It has nothing to do with "community", merely leftist propaganda. This is the bed they made, now they have to lie in it as this platform fails.
If you speak the truth or facts, then, the ARMY of trolls will flag your account. The online bullies will suppress EVERYONE who has difference of their opinion on Nextdoor.
The trolls will have your account temporarily suspended. Nextdoor breeds and encourages online bullies!
Horrible place to advertise.
No support
No service.
It's an internet rip off.
Give us your money and expect nothing in return.
Unbelievable.
They kicked me off because I violated some policy but never told me what the issue was. They kicked me off because I didn't use my full name but they didn't say how to update my name. I left Facebook because they were also too controlling.
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Check out https://wiggio.com or www.neighborhoodlink.com
Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
When neighbors start talking, good things happen.
