False advertising
May 14, 2022

After receiving a $100 voucher in a gift box, following the prompts and inputting my email, immediately says not available in Michigan, where I live. Very poor advertising. After going to the website before putting in voucher info, I was excited to purchase some items, and possibly for future purchases, but since this was only a cheap/easy promotion of their product, I will not be purchasing and will let people who are into wines know about this. Very poor and false advertising... to promote your product with a voucher in a state(s) where you don't sell or allow discounts, yet send out hundreds or thousands of these $100 vouchers in at least this state. How many other states don't you allow your vouchers to be used in, yet send them anyways just to get your name out.
Also, in being told that because I wasn't able to make a purchase, this review will not be placed in a front review location, so there's some questionable authenticity about this review legitimacy not being bought away from the company. Hopefully it reaches others to help them.

I bought one case of wine and was immediately signed up for the "angel" program without telling me, I only found out when they tried to withdraw 50$ from my bank account. They also wont let you delete your card to prevent them from doing this. They are a partial scam. Their wines are also mediocre or trash.

Not trustworthy
May 3, 2022

Closed my account cause they shorted me bottles. They were supposed to refund my account. They did this but immediately took the money back out. When I called about got the run around with customer service saying it was My banks fault. Use at own risk.

I should have read the reviews before I started ordering wine! The wines are only so so. Some better than most, but mostly mediocre wines. It's nice to support up and coming wineries, but there have been some wines that were truly undrinkable. I written NakedWines and haven't heard anything back. So much for 'Guarantee'. Last shipment had the remains of a broken bottle and was completely repackaged. I sent a note to the *******@nakedwines, but after 10 days of not hearing back I'm done with this program.

Ehhhh
March 31, 2022

I really wanted to like it. The only nice part was the variety of wines. But all of them tasted awful. Definitely canceled after trying the first two bottles. Not worth it to me.

At best, only ok
March 22, 2022

The wines were ok. I won't order from them again but meantime, just try to get off their email list. If they don't care enough to comply with the laws requiring them to make it easy to stop their spam emails, I guess it makes sense that they don't care that much about their products.

Apparently nakedwines only accepts wine vouchers if you allow them to make you an Angel, which means they can take money from you every month. I had a valid wine voucher that I was in the middle of using, but as soon as I canceled the Angel subscription during the order, the voucher was deemed invalid.

I had a voucher for 100 dollar's and select 6 bottles and placed the order, then went back to check the order and all of a sudden there were only 5 bottles. I will never use them ever again I will just go where I been going, Coopers Hawk or Wal-Mart.

Good and bad
February 19, 2022

What I have found with Naked Wines is the ability to try and support small wine makers. Some of the wines are really a good bang for the buck. There are no "premium" experiences here but there are decent "drink now" wines. My negative comments revolve around shipping. I have bought online for 20 years and NEVER had any breakage. Ordered 2 times with naked and both times, breakage. I have noticed that they use really light, thin bottles... so it makes sense. They credited me, so they made it right... but still, it is a pain in the $#*!

Stealth tax!
January 19, 2022

I purchased a case of wine for me wife. 2 months down the line am I'm paying £25 a month for some Angel service I don't want / did not sign up for. I'm bored of the government's stealth taxation, looks like Naked Wines are cut from the same cloth.

Bad service, stay away!
November 20, 2021

I got to know about nakedwines through a flier they sent to my mail. I was going to have some visitors coming on Nov 19 so I thought I'd try their subscription and order a dozen wine, placed my order morning of Nov 15. The wine was suppose to arrive on Nov 18 according to their order confirmation, but for some reason it got damaged on it's way and was returned to their depot. I was given a Nov 19 ETA from the tracking but no wine came. I did get an email though saying "Your wine has arrived!", but that's not really true... I went back to the delivery tracking and saw the message on the tracking said " Package return to sender" I reviewed my door security camera to check if there was anyone who came in front of the door or tried to deliver the package (thinking, did we miss the deliver? Which is near impossible because everyone in our family was home that day) and I did not see any attempted delivery. I called the support and was just told "they can just replace the order (that did not get to me) for free." as if I'm getting some additional benefit for them sending my original order... and that the package will come after 7 days, but they can't "promise" that it will make it to that date. I cancelled my subscription because of that and just asked for a refund! Now I need to wait on when they will refund my payment after wasting my time.

The first point I want to make is that Naked Wines is NOT A SCAM. When placing your first order it clearly states that you are agreeing to the Angel program which means a monthly credit to your NW account is debited from your payment method. That money is yours and fully refundable at any time the Angel investor chooses to cancel. I have referred several friends and received the promised $40 gift credit for each. One friend joined to take advantage of the great deals for her daughter's wedding and a couple of months after the wedding canceled her account and received every penny that had accumulated in her Angel funds.
The majority of the wines I have ordered have been of good quality and enjoyable. NW backs up the satisfaction guarantee 100%. I've had wines that were spoiled in delivery during a heatwave and NW credited my account immediately without debate and without requiring me to return the wines. I've also had credits to my account for a couple of wines that I simply did not like. Even the vintners will tell Angels to request a refund when their wines receive a poor to mediocre review.
I am very impressed with how interactive the website is between the Angels and the vintners. It is a fun wine-based social media in itself. It's the next best thing to actually visiting the wineries. I've learned a lot about wines since joining and I'm affordably building a nice collection.
I have been very happy with my entire experience since becoming a Naked Wines Angel.

By the way, it is not NW's fault if you live in a nanny state with ridiculously restrictive laws against wine shipments. And definitely not NW's fault if people don't read what they are signing and paying for when they make their first purchase.

Really bad delivery service (Yodel)
June 29, 2021

Incredibly disappointed in their delivery service. They work with Yodel and they were unable to find my house. Firstly I never received my delivery as they delivered it to a completely different address and when I complained it wasn't delivered, Naked Wines kindly sent another box, which has sadly never arrived as the driver again didn't manage to find my house, while I was waiting at home for this delivery. I can't give a review about the actual wine quality as I never got to taste it but this incredibly bad delivery put me of trying for good. Won't be buying through them again.

C'mon, Nakedwines. You can make the NJ shipping work. Just find out a way to do that - all your competitors ship to my state. If you need to partner up with another provider in NJ, so be it. I was a member of 7 wine clubs and Nakedwines was my main provider until the stupid NJ-suspension came into effect in 2020. You'll get 5 stars from me when you announce that shipping-to-NJ is resume. Until then, you get 1 star.

Love this service!
July 24, 2020

I love this idea! It started with an introductory deal of 6 bottles for around $39. After that, a specified amount (your choice starting at $40) is charged to your credit card and applied to your balance. Then, you select the wines you want and they are delivered to your door! There are so many wines from which to choose! They have this fantastic app, too. You can unsubscribe at any time or alter your monthly amount billed. As an added bonus, you are able to interact with the winemakers! How cool is that?

I love this club for several reasons (and I've tried four other clubs for comparison). One is the quality of the wines. They are consistently good to excellent (the majority of them are excellent). Members are very good about reviewing wines, so there is a lot to go on to make your selections. Another reason: it is not an automatic monthly shipment. You order wine when you want to. There is a $40 monthly membership "fee" - but that goes into your "piggy bank" for future purchases. You spend every penny of it when you order, so you lose nothing. Another: you choose your own wines. You don't get a case of maybe-I'll-like-them wines. For example, I want both reds and whites. But I don't want Pinot Grigio or German whites. I dislike them both. But in every club other than Naked Wines, I'd have no control as to whether I'd get them. Another: you get wines you can't get anywhere else and, I'll say again, they are excellent. Finally: their customer service is the best I've encountered with any company of any sort. In my first two cases (following the intro) they mistakenly included one wine each that I didn't order in place of one I did. After the second order they were so apologetic that they sent me a half-case of wine no charge. The retail value of the wines was $220. The member value $105. I was shocked. Bottom line: I'm very glad I joined and always look forward to trying one of their wines.

After reading the person above from PA getting a delivery I'm even more disgusted by this company.

Apparently NJ isn't good enough to ship to. They send these $100 vouchers to the state and then when you log on they say sorry we won't ship to NJ but we will ship to pretty much any other state including Alaska and Hawaii.

What a pathetic thing to do market in a state you won't ship to. I'd stay far away from this company since they obviously have awful marketing and ownership running this monkey stand.

Top shelf
January 18, 2020

I have heard two things about Naked Wines: 1) their wines are fantastic, 2) prices are amazing, and 3) customer service is excellent. I can attest to all three as being true. Every wine I've drunk from them so far is absolutely great. One immediately became my favorite wine. The prices as one of their "Angels" are unbelievable 15-60%+ off retail. On an extreme example, one $105 wine sells for $35. But that's a high-ended example. Most of their wines range from $12-20 (Angel price), with retail values up to $45ish.

Their customer service is jaw-droppingly good. I have never had such a positive experience with any company of any sort. Ever. My experience: the first two cases I ordered had the same error: one of the wines I ordered was mistakenly replaced by one I didn't. In fact, the replaced wines weren't even remotely similar to the ones I wanted. The first time I chalked it up to human error. We all make errors, right? After the second time in as many orders, I became concerned that the poor work might be a hallmark of the company. I asked around and everyone said this is highly unusual. Naked Wine's response? A very personal, non-business-like email conversation with a customer service person, followed by (get this!) a complimentary half-case of wine. And not an ordinary half-case. It's retail value was $220. There were two $26 bottles and four $42 bottles. I was flabbergasted. It seemed like an over-the-top response to me. But members tell me that it is a typical response from Naked Wines. I cannot recommend them enough. Great wines. Great price. Great service.

Where do I begin? I got a promo offer for $100 off a case of wine, I figured the case would be at least $200. Not so. Their promo is an assortment from small mom and pop wineries around the world. I am not saying I liked all the wines, but I am a sweet wine lover. The dryer it is, the less I like it, but 1/2 of dry red wine and 1/2 Welch's grape juice fixes it right up. My friends have liked every wine so far (except for the really sweet one that I loved. That is okay, more for me). Some they liked more than others. They were also able to get the $100 off! So after your first assortment, you get to pick from sweet to dry, from the US, to around the world. Only want Italian wines? They have you covered, as well as at least a dozen other countries. Customer Service has been great. Oh, you will have a hard time finding wines over $20.00 and easy to find them under $15.

Although I did receive my wine, I had a bad experience. The site asks if you want to be an "angel" which means you pay them $20 a month for vouchers and "discounts". After I received my wine, I had a representative call me and ask if I wanted to be an "angel", ONCE AGAIN, it means you pay them that $20 a month. I told him NO. I have other things I have to pay for. Sure enough, I have had money coming out of my account for over THREE MONTHS without me knowing. Lesson: Always check your bank account! These kinds of sites are SUPER scammy!
