Gotta say I was shocked at low reviews. This is the 2nd wine club (besides from a particular vineyard) that I have tried. The first was awful. I had a freind who commended this and sent me a coupon to try. Frankly, I really only planned on doing this to get the original deal and then likely cancel. But, much to my surprise, it was pretty darn good. And now I basically only buy from them as the quality of wine for the proce tends to be really great. Now, I don't typically buy the more expensive ones, but more table wines. Their mystery packs that you can get are an absolute steal. And you get a free bottle of their choosing each month which has always been pretty stellar. In some ways, I just sort of let them choose my wines for me with whatever pack is currently up, and have only had a couple of bottles that I didn't like (and from my recollection) that was bc they threw in Moscato twice, and i dont like sweet wines. But, I was able to repurpose it into making sorbets, so no real loss at all.
Not sure how they get bad reviews. I've definitely had stint in being a wine snob at different stages of my life, and still find these AOK.
I took up their offer of discount wines. They were pretty poor. They then kept my card details and took £25.00 per month from me until I realised and stopped them. Naked wines is nothing but a scam, avoid them like the plague
I decided to give them a try, since we received a coupon. Try your luck at Trader Joes instead. If you get a bottle that doesn't taste good or is souring, as was half of our box, then at least you can return it. All three wines pictured below were beginning to turn orange/brown. The smell was very acidic and over powered any taste the wine would bring, such as wine that is beginning to vinegar. One of the wines had a mold smell or dirt with dung. So dissapointed.
Place one order then they use your debit card to set up a monthly charge, nothing on emails, no standing order or direct debit to cancel, and phones switched off to call them, great company
The shipping company will give you a specific day to be home so you basically have to sit at your front door all day to sign or you miss the delivery. I was home and still missed it. Its hot outside too so the wine is being re-routed all over the state in a hot truck. They wont call you with a specific time for delivery. Its a nightmare.
To begin with, the wines at ok not great. It's the constant bombardment of emails that are so annoying. They never stop, night and at and it's very hard to unsubscribe. Highly non recommended
I have been a member for over a year and have only positive things to say about their higher end wine selections, (I prefer reds) and their service. I plan to continue using this club.
I'm very surprised at the negative reviews about Naked Wines. I've been very satisfied with the quality of the wines and their customer service. Now, like any 'subscription service' they will not hesitiate to bill you if you inadvertantly click on something you did not want. But give them a call and it has all been good. I have my wine shipped to a local grocery store so I don't have to worry about being around when it's delivered. I'm also an 'angel' which basically means they use my $ every month but I'm ok with it as I consider it a savings account for wine!
I got 6 bottles for $40, I was happy that I got a good deal. I've tried almost all of them, they test horrible, each sip is like taking a tequila shot. I just now noticed they charge me $40 without my consent and they decided to subscribed me for monthly $40 inside their account! I tried to delete my payment but I couldn't! I reported the charge as a fraud which it is. This is cheating and taking money from people without their consents.
I had ordered ONE box from them to gift someone ages ago and they kept charging $40 to my account without my consent and so far they have charged so many entries and have provided NOTHING in return. I feel like such an idiot for not being more vigilant with my statements etc. Do NOT sign up or buy ANYTHING from them, because you never know what you're signing up for. F#@%ing THIEVES!
Not only do they not ship to our state, but you have to pay a subscription to buy wine? I only looked them up because I got a voucher card in a package, but I was lucky enough to read some reviews before wasting my money on this scam site.
I have had a great experience with the club for the last 2+ years. They ALWAYS credit me for wines I did not like. They are unique in that you fund winemakers to make wine and then purchase it at a good to a great price. You also have interaction with the winemaker which makes the experience special. Not all wines are good but if you choose carefully and identify the wines and winemakers you like it becomes a fun treasure hunt. If you enjoy learning about wines, winemakers, and regions this is a fun and delicious ride.
I have been a member of Naked Wines since Covid and get all of my wine from them. I have always liked or loved the wine, and so have my guests. Everyone loves my Naked wine. I am shocked by the poor reviews on here. Not at all what I experience. There set up is super easy and monthly charge banks up until your are ready to order. Its so nice to have that credit to apply when you check out. I have had excellent customer service always, in fact I just received beautiful wine key as a gift in my box. Oh and every month they give you a free bottle of wine to include in your order. You can cancel any time and receive your banked funds back but I wouldn't know because I use them up every month! Don't listen to the haters!
Naked wines is an online wine club. They have OK wines that a casual wine drinker might indulge in. A wide selection of wines you are sure to like. They have an option on their site where you can meet producers and other consumers. They sell in bulk however I'm not much of a drinker. Very sturdily packaged so your bottles don't break. It's tricky cancelling your subscription.
Warning I would find another company and not go through these guys. They did not get my delivery to me on time for my sixtieth birthday party and then they sent it to the wrong address they had no way for someone to be contacted, and UPS messed up as well, I'm contacting my lawyer...
A friend gave us a voucher from Naked wines. We thought we'd give it a try. Very disappointed. We don't feel like this was the kind of wine we would received. On the order it looked like, beside the dozen that we ordered, that there would be a 13th bottle to be sent. When we called up to enquire we were told that it wold be with the next order. Why put it on the actual order when it's going to be with the next one.? Very confusing. We are not ordering anymore. Once bitten twice shy.
Br careful- when I realized the high price for membership I cancelled signing up; they still are charging me the high fee per month. I have never ordered a wine from them. It's a scam in my opinion
We had been saving up with Naked Wines for an occassion mid year. We then got a tempting email to try a selection of wines to our liking picked by an expert. There was a guarantee of a no questions asked refund. After trying several bottles I was so dissapointed. Even after checking reviews online it was obvious these were not all great wines. Then came the issue of asking for this guaranteed tefund. After now months of going back and forth, a phone call two weeks ago saying this is about to be finalised, then nothing from them at all. No refund, no response. I did not even ask for a full refund. I was stupid enough to trust them so only even asked for 50% refund.
I jumped in at my daughter's suggestion. After 2 years I am still in. I've had mostly outstanding wines for cheap and have received emails back from winemakers. If I really don't like a wine, I tell them and I'm refunded. Period. Super flexible. Great service.
Got a voucher through Amazon and thought I will give them a try. Sadly, all the wines they sent were not nice at all!
But worse is that now they are just charging me £25 every month, even though I NEVER gave consent to that!
I have emailed them several times to stop this and to give me a refund. They write back a friendly email but charge me again the next month!
Scam and stay away!
