Beware! Never again! My daughter visited MyEyeDr for regular annual eye exam in October, this exam is always covered by Insurance. The whole visit experience was fraught with issues. They added multiple charges to the card. On one hand they fully charged our Insurance $150 for the eye exam (plus charges us co-pay), additionally they also up-charged with additional $140 for lens exam! Plus $40 for the glasses exam. How very ridiculous! They did not offer proper explanation for up-charging or take any prior consent. When she questioned the charges they did not provide appropriate explanation. They refused to 'bill later' and asked her to pay in full, before she left premises. I visited the facility, the very next day and met with front desk agent as well as supervisor Joseph. He basically said that for the new patients they charge twice, one for eye health check-up, second for eye test. They did not provide me with any patient consent copy for all these charges, and said this was all discussed verbally! I asked them to resolve the billing issue if they did not want me to raise a dispute with Insurance. He basically said, go ahead and do whatever, this is how we bill. Multiple charges were added on the card and none of my questions were addressed, not to mention no proper explanation for the services and what they entailed. We normally visit Preston clinic and this was first time with MyEyeDr, due to need for evening appointment timing. Ended up paying 3X in charges plus tolerate the indifferent behavior. Never again! The eye exam at MyEyeDr took almost an hour and the doctor was in an extreme haste with little to no time for each patient and it felt very rushed and half-completed. My prescription was incorrectly written and service was very rude and unkind. You cannot hold patients hostage on your premises and charge whatever without proper consent.

Worst company ever
October 24, 2022

Worst company ever! I drove from Tampa to Lakeland for my eye appointment for an hour it took me to get there I get there eight minutes past my appointment then I stood in line waited for the receptionist to check me in at this point it was 513 she tells me that she hast to reschedule my appointment due to their 10 minute grace period and I had exceeded over it I looked at the lady and I said are you kidding me I drove over an hour to get to my appointment and because you guys have a 10 minute policy That you cannot see me she goes we can reschedule you for another day so I proceeded to call the office and talk to the office manager she is as useless as they come. They do not care about their patients all they care about is taking your money I understand the doctors are busy but to turn a patient away because she was 10 minutes late that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I run a physicians office and I would never turn a patient away just because they were 10 minutes late if you can go to a different ophthalmologist I would highly recommend it.

Thank you to the staff at the Brookline location! I can't THANK YOU enough for going beyond to see me after I arrived late for my appointment! I was going out of town for the weekend and didn't have my planner with me to reschedule the appointment! I was so surprised when I received a call from the staff at the Brookline location to come back to the office because Dr. Zappala will wait for me to return! My heart was filled with so much gratitude and appreciation! I've never had a doctor's office provide this type of customer service! With gratitude, Alicia

Beware
September 16, 2022

My family of five have been going to this practice for years. I had an appointment, I showed up for the appointment, they told me I never confirmed it because I never answered my phone. I showed them my voicemails my received calls proving that they never called me. Then they confirmed my phone number they had in the system was correct but they had it marked in their system as wrong phone number. So I drove 35 minutes for my appt., missed hours of work. They told me they couldn't see me. They said a company bought them, not all the information transferred into the new system. But I confirmed that Dr. Bishop of Easton Eyecare is still working under the new name of MyEyeDr. They wouldn't even try to work with me when it was their mistake. Told me they couldn't see me for 2 more months. No excuse, they just lost five patients.

Horrible Rude Service
August 12, 2022

MyEyeDr at 233 Pennsylvania Ave SE, Washington, DC ******* is a place that should be put out of business or will be soon based on their customer service. From the moment I opened the door to the moment I left I experienced nothing but rude customer service. I called in advance and was told the service I wanted for my daughter was $140. They charged $285. The manager was hostile and even threatening. I'll never go back. Horrible place.

Attentive Julie
August 3, 2022

If U looked up the definition of customer service, it would say—Julie!
She started off, by asking me how I was—I told her I was in a car accident.
I asked, her to help me pick some frames. She showed me compassion &
Jumped up and started getting me framed to choose from. She found me some
Wonderful frames! She went over the paper work, very thorough. Thank you Julie (At a girl)

I have had back problems most of my life. I have been being treated by a pain specialist for the past 10 years. I have tried steroids and physical therapy, what works for me is Tramadol and oxycodone. I am prescribed 30 oxycodone's for 90 days. Caremark keeps kicking back the requests so they won't fill my Rx's. I have never heard of an insurance company telling a Dr. what they can or cannot prescribe. If I could rate them one point of a star, that's what they would get. If your employer tries to give you this insurance, run don't walk to get away from it.

This is for Newport, KY office. I bought a year supply of 2-week lenses in office. Now i wanted to try a color lens, so i ordered from 1-800-contacts. MyEyeDr didn't allow the order. He claimed i was fitted for the very specific lens only. I'll need another visit to change types. Very disappointed and annoyed. I've been wearing contacts longer than that docyor has been alive. Never had this happen til now. Not going back though. No longer have insurance, but it wouldn't have covered 2 fittings within a year anyway.

This concerns the Dupont Circle location.

They ignore messages to the point that they sent back my initial lenses even after I had reached out about meeting to discuss frames, requiring my waiting for them to get them back (or maybe for them to be recut and sent back). I went in to go over frames and make an order. Weeks later I'm told that they're in. I arrive and find lenses in frames nowhere CLOSE to what we'd discussed, very narrow whereas these were quite round. (Rimless frames.) So they have to send them back and I wait weeks longer. I go in at that point and they're STILL wrong! I'm later offered a refund by the supervisor, Armando, without explanation of why they can't offer what we'd explicitly discussed and then they stop responding altogether, including to confirmation of how much they'll refund me and if I need to speak to anyone in particular--Armando et al just wouldn't respond, ever.

I went to their corporate office and they were helpful at first but then they too refused to answer questions about my prescription.

I finally got a full refund but I am still not clear about the prescription and will need to go someplace else for a fresh eye exam and get what I need from them.

I purchased eye glass frame & lens 7-28-2015 from Potomac Mill in Woodbridge, VA
Right side of the frame(Temples) plastic coating has cracked couple of month ago, I called MyEyeDr. Yesterday, they said this problem is not under warranty I have to pay for the new frame. I think should cover warranty for one year defective merchandise.
They told me to contact frame manufacturer for warranty repair, I don't have a manufacturer contact info niether MyEye Dr.
MyEyeDr. Responsible for defective frame they sold to customer not me.
This is very bad experience to me with MyEyeDr.
I don't want pay $135.00 for the new frame. I can get the new complete eye glass $39.00 from 39dollareyeglasses.com
