I have found my builder.com very helpful. I can see what other customers have thought about the work done for them before making a decision for myself. I will certainly use this as a way of finding tradespeople in the future.
The website's easy to use, you just post a job, include detail, dates and photos are a good idea, then builders post if they're interested, you can check out their reviews and shortlist the ones you like the look of. The review system means builders are keen to please and resolve any problems. Beats looking through Yellow Pages.
We needed a local reliable plumber and once our task was put out we received several replies very quickly. Our chosen firm were excellent. Reliable helpful and reasonable priced our replacement shower was fitted in no time at all. Great service.

Trying to manage refurbishing a rental property in Lincoln while in Sydney, I advertised for a decorating job and a rubbish clearance job. I received quick responses, got quotes, and got the jobs done at prices that suited. The guys did the jobs well and kept me informed, including sending photos. So, all good and will use again.
Used my builder once, and got a good roofer, tried many before i used this site but all were either to expensive or messed me about, thank you my builder, my roof is now leak free and done within a fortnight,
A. Cook Groundwork. Didn't work, every excuse as to why job couldn't be done. Disorganised to a level I've never seen. Had to pay him to go and cancel contract. Totally unprepared for doing the job quoted. No workforce other than unskilled people who can't work more than 2 days because of benefits.
I can't see how they can have unqualified electricians on their site, there must be no vetting process at all. I stupidly went with lowest quote, and the person hired couldn't give me a certificate afterwards, lot of dodging the question, and eventually gave me a certificate which proved to be fraudulent.
I strongly encourage anyone using this service to carry out their own checks on the contractors first.
We can't recommend Tiger Home Improvements enough for the quality of work, their prices and their professionalism. They couldn't be beaten on price but this didn't reduce the quality of the materials used or the end product. Dale and his team were friendly, helpful, gave after service advice and left leaving no mess behind. We are 100% happy with the work and would not hesitate to book them again.
Having just moved to the area, I didn't know where to start with finding tradies to do all different jobs round the house. Had nobody to ask for recommendations.
Using My builder.com meant I could see reviews from previous customers, and every job I posted got many replies. I could choose the more local tradies to give an estimate, feeling more confident because any poor quality work would have been flagged up in the previous customer reviews.

So just used Pete from Prodecks uk in Hull. Pete is a lovely warm friendly man, contracted him through mybiulder.com to strip and rebuild a large decked area for my mother. Pete has done a first class no rushed job, giving sound advice and keeping me updated constantly throughout the project. We are very happy with the results and would not hesitate to use him again or indeed recommend him to anyone looking for a professional no rushed quality project. I've used MyBuilder fo 4 different jobs recently. Plastering, wooden flooring, cabin building and to provide an electricity supply to the cabin. I received several quotes for each job and then selected the tradesman for each task. Each one performed an excellent job. All were punctual, hardworking and the finished tasks were done to a professional standard. I would definitely recommend MyBuilder and use them again.
Have posted for a number of jobs from rewiring of the whole house, replacement of internal doors to laying of patio. There is always a large number of builders available and you can see their past jobs and feedback straight away.
The website is easy to navigate and understand.
Every builder I have chosen from the site so far has been excellent and I would highly recommend.

In my opinion MyBuilder is far and away the best way to secure a tradesperson who is (a) interested and (b) available. Also it gives you an opportunity to read reviews, or to take a chance on a new person looking to make a name for themselves on the site. Over the last 1.5 years I've had several difficult jobs which defied easy classification. I could not find anyone interested until I tried MyBuilder and in every case I found at least one interested party and often many. It's a great site and I recommend it to all my friends.
I would like to credit a roofing company Everyday Roofing Services of Hampshire. They did an excellent job across my whole roof and within budget. There was a slight problem after the job (just as likely caused by the scaffolding) and they came back and fixed it and cleaned everything, as they promised they would. Highly recommended.
As tradesman listed on Mybuilder I have to admit to mixed feelings about this site, for getting work leads. While there are some genuine honest customers posting jobs on site, there are also large numbers of people posting jobs which are either just for quotes to decide whether to buy places, or those who are awefull at comms & won't reply to calls or messages. Also Mybuilder allow far too many leads to be passed to multiple tradesmen all being charged fees, meaning they make lots of money but you have a low chance of getting a job, when your one of 5 or 6 going for them but still you get charged, often without getting to quote for work. This sucks, as it can mount up to a big bill in a month, for no return. They won't refund fees when you can't get replies to messages either.!:-/ I'm just glad I have a large customer base, as I can't rely on this site for good dependable work leads any more.!
I have recently moved to a new area and therefore didn't know any tradesmen to work on my new house. However a friend recommended mybuilder and it has been extremely useful. I have found a builder, carpenter, plasterer, roofer and an electrician from the site, all of which have been reasonable, reliable and good workers. The reviews have been honest and a great way to choose the correct person. A very useful website.
