This is not what it needs to be for customers. There is a contractor there that is blatantly misleading people They will end up on rogue traders or watch dog one day, i informed My builders.com about how they fleeced me, as they advertise with them as requiring no deposit up front. This is a lie, they plead and manipulate you to pay until most of the money is paid and then they disappear without finishing the job. When they start they are charm itself, but it's not genuine and the standards are like you wouldn't believe. They use cheap materials. I informed My Builders, they couldn't care less. By the way, avoid, Bensons Home Care They are full of lies

I was new to online sites for building services. I put in 'looking for carpenter' and up popped Mybuilder along with zillions of other some well known sites (don't get hook on a company you recognise as it's been around for yonks... if you get my drift). Decided to try Mybuilder and now after my 3rd job request and completion at great satisfaction I must say it will be my go to sight for all my needs and they've got some free adverts with all I encounter. I'd even wear a tee shirt if they had one... hint hint:-) Mybuilder is the best! I'm one happy customer.

The simple point is they do not vet their advertisers. The builder I engaged from this site had no Public Liability Insurance although on My Builder he was advertised as having it.
Secndly his address was false.
Thirdly Although advertised as a professional with a website after I engaged a private detective to track him down we discovered he was in fact a traveller living in a caravan.
Overview.
Anyone can set up a professional looking website and get themselves excellent online reviews, false or otherwise.
My. Builder were not at all interested. Why should they be. Their income is derived from their advertisers who wish to look good and will pay for it.
Whetheret or not they operate in the consumers interest is highly questionable. They certainly didn't in my case.
You cannot beat a word of mouth recommendation. My recommendation do not use sites such as My Builder. I never will again.

I spent a productive afternoon in February posting jobs for 3 separate trades. Very easy site to negotiate. In the space of a day I had arranged visits from trades who wanted the job With the exception of one, who didn't turn up or inform me that he wasn't coming I had speedy quotes and by the end of the week I had the people I needed. I found the whole experience a very easy way of finding well qualified trades people and reading the reviews both positive and negative gave a feeling of confidence in who you were spending your money with.

My Builder.com is a fantastic tool when it comes to searching for a trades person. I always read the trade persons profile along with their customer feed back. As of yet I have not been disappointed as I have successfully hired a builder, a plasterer plus a joiner.

It's for customer service. Shortlist fees. Are some fake jobs offers l! Customer add you on shortlist never pick up the phone! If you report to mybuldier they don't care about it!
Don't even try to verify it just sent you an invoice but in rules said totally different store! Shem on you! I did contact with mybuldier customer service. They said they don't care. I'm sure it's not only me... I think mybuldier open fake account just to rip you off. Added you as a shortlist but never pick up the phone. It's not happen once it's happening all time. After reported to customer service they don't do anything to help you.

Totally disgusting my builder treated me, I gave a friend three projects, but he asked if put through my builder so I did,, reason give reviews for him,, he is a good tradesmen, they took is money, they removed my reviews, didn't tell me why, charged styles images 30 pounds, they took is reviews off site, would only say it was against policy to work for poeple you know, I'm taking it to trading standards,, the site is fiull of poeple lying about how good they are, they get one good person and treat him likes. Hes criminal, don't use this site...

You have been chosen to quote, sounds great, you then pay, in my case £35 for a telephone number. Remember this person has chosen me to quote, you call the number, no reply, no opportunity to quote. Still charged, very miss leading, be careful.

I hae used this site many times for finding an - maintainance person to fit really big wardrobes, chests of draws - electrician (changing lights and switches etc) - carpet fitters (for hall, front room and spiral stairs).
It is so easy to use and the tradesperson can contact you immediately.
I used this site when it was said that checkatrade reviews were always 4/5 and negatives were not always shown.
I will always use mybuilder.com as the people listed are always brilliant and very helpful.

Inevitably suresome people have bad experiences with bad tradesman, not everyone works to the highest standard and if this happens I can see that it is hard for Mybuilder to prevent this happening. That said some trades are victims of bad customers. My builder takes significant commission from tradesman to get jobs(multiple tradesman pay for the same job and they dont like the public to know this). They however refuse to support the people who pay them when there is a dispute not matter how small. This company like all online trade finding sites need to be regulated and shut down if they continue to fail in their responsibilities. Both public looking for trades and tradesman should steer well clear of all lof these sites.
