Sent two phones in near perfect condition. Both valued at £40. Received a revised offer of £4 for both saying they had LCD damage. The LCD's are perfect on both. I've declined the revised offer and I'm hoping they they are returned to me packaged with the same care as when I sent them. Made the mistake of reading review sites such as trustpilot where negative reviews have been removed. Having read similar reviews on here I'm going to try taking them to CEX. It's disgusting that a company this high profile can attempt these transparent tactics. I'm just grateful that I'm not selling out of desperation for quick cash. Will never waste my time with them again.
Tried reducing an original offer of £400 to £40 because our Ipad Pro was "bent beyond repair". Absolute b. S., there wasn't a thing wrong with it but I've seen so many reviews of them trying this trick. They then attempted to get our review taken down from another site because I didn't include our order number. Because they can't post the one 1-star reviews amongst the 4 and 5* reviews they put on their website to lure people in. And who knows how much £££ in accessories they're pilfering from people by not returning them if they decline the second offer. Absolute scam.
I bought a dvd box set. The discs were playing side up leaving them vulnerable to scratches. Secondly the packer had clearly sneezed as it was all over one of the discs. I have tried several phone numbers to complain, the live chat kept cutting out sent an email no reply. What kind of staff are they employing.
Absolutely disgusting from Music Magpie.
Raised 3 complaints now none of which responded to appropriately. Payment allegedly issued, not received informed that it was issued incorrectly and must wait further 24 hours for reissue. £1000 phone sent in with value of trade at £610 absolutely fine with the valuation and amount perfect, but now refusing to pay me. I will be escalating to trading standards and the police due to the stress caused by the process spent days on the chat to get answers all I want is the money I was assured for the product they now have ownership of!
Having placed an order for a phone, the site promoted 50% off accessories for this phone. I ordered a good case and screen protector because of the offer. When finalising the payment the reduction wasn't applied. I let them know straight away. Cut a long drawn out bat and ball email conversation, having sent screen shots of the 50% advert, I was told that the reduction advertised was a mistake and that I could have 5% off instead. Sale of goods act 1974 seems to be too old for this bunch of bandits. Avoid buying and selling as they seem to be taking from those of us who can't afford new and giving to Mr Steve Oliver, CEO of a modern day equivalent of internet highway robbery. Shame on you and all who are held hostage by him. Speak up. Business needs a good reputation.
I sent in a perfectly functioning phone and I was quoted £340 this was then reduced to £90 as the phone was supposedly faulty and there was a crack on the screen causing dead spots. As you can see that is not the case. This company is good at quoting high prices to lure you in then drastically reduce the price for no valid reason. They also seem to have fake positive reviews on trust pilot they also flag all the negative reviews so that they disappear. Find a more trustworthy company to sell your goods!
Lost £500 to this company. They will not respond to me at all. Sent 100s of emails and not received anything back. No phone number to call them. Hope I can at least save the next person some money - don't use them. They're straight up scam artists
I personally purchased two Apple iphone 12 pro max phones from this Company (Magpie) just before Xmas 2021! Unfortunately one was faulty, returned using their free label with Royal mail, three days later, accused of sending an iPhone 5c, instead of my iPhone 12! The fun began! No contact telephone numbers, just back and forth with emails! I more than proved the theft of my phone was (Magpies) responsibility, I after a month have only just received a refund, What an absolute joke of a company when things go wrong!
No wonder they called this company Magpie!
Ordered a refurbished xbox pristine condition for it to stop working on the second day. When I've returned it they have said the warranty seal has been broken and there's external damage so the warranty is void and there is nothing they can do. As I've never experienced anything like this I never thought to take photos before sending it back but it was not in that condition when I returned it! After reading other reviews on social media sites its clear they scam people all the time. Absolutely disgusting thing to do to people spending a lot of money on items. Advice anyone to shop elsewhere!
Sent in a brand new iPad Pro(2023) I got it back scratched and uncared for like it's their dads items, they con you in to believing it's a bad item they want to pay minimum for them. Avoid at all cost.
I was selling an iPhone 11 pro max and was offered £375. I also had a 10% voucher and a £5 referral free which brought the offer up to £410. I received a revised offer for £320 because the phone was unlocked and I had bought and used the phone on the 3 network. The phone is pristine and has no marks or scratches. Upon talking via chat, the customer service representative informed me there were also 'quality' issues. When I said it felt like a scam, she cut me off! Appauling service. Use with caution, especially for higher value items. This was all before Christmas so it felt like they just wanted to pay as little as possible knowing how many people are desperate for money. One for Martin Lewis perhaps?
I ordered a game and after various attempts to contact them by phone "Sorry the mailbox is full" and emails doing the same, I messaged on Twitter and they eventually responded.
The item never arrived and whilst I got my money back, I was really annoyed as it was an excellent price.
The new Music Magpie doesn't seem to have as much stock for some strange reason.
I'm very dubious about using them in the future
Sent a tablet off before with no issues then sent my husbands Samsung S20 packaged well in its original box initially offered £200 always had a screen protector and cover on it no scratches like new, they revised the offer to £40 because apparently the screen was damaged. Initially we thought it got damaged in transit we asked for photos as we were shocked at how it could be damaged being in a box. Thank goodness we read these reviews as we declined and they sent it back and would you believe it nothing wrong with the screen! Absolute crooks! We are now taking it to CEX I'll settle for less money, would give no stars if I could! Please avoid not worth the hassle.
I lost my bank card over Christmas and I have sent 36 messages on different platforms to change to my new card number and received no replies the so called live chat cuts off after 2 stupid questions that nothing to do with my question today they sent me a default notice they are a nightmare company that should not be trading this my 3 complaint
Sent items worth £16 only to receive £11 with no reasons sent to me as to why the amount had been changed! When trying to contact them on their web page it constantly jumped to another page before i could begin to put my details and questions in! Will definitely not use again
Bought a computer in what they said was very good condition. It was dinted and bent. Clearly been dropped. I returned it with all the other stuff I'd bought and they claimed I'd sent back the wrong remote. I simply returned everything they had sent to me! They now won't refund me so I'm out of pocket and have nothing tk show from it. No contact no, emails take forever to reply to and they don't read or look into it. They just fob you off with the same excuse the prior person did. They don't pay any attention tk detail. Absolutely shocking! Don't buy anything from them!. Scammers
Item purchased not marked as dispatched. Queried it with Music Magpie... straight away offered refund. Which makes me think they haven't got the items they are advertising in the first place
Would not recommend
I ordered an iPhone 13 Pro package, and it has arrived, but unfortunately, there was no phone inside it. It seems like the phone has been stolen, and MusicMagpie is taking no responsibility for it. I had to take the issue to PayPal to find a resolution. In my opinion, it is best to stay clear of MusicMagpie as they are a clearly fraudulent company.
Sent my wife's Samsung S9 to these jokers as I was offered £140. Surprise surprise, just like many of the other decent folk on here we were offered a reduced cost of £30 as they said the phone has LCD and pixel issues.
The phone is in mint condition - we obviously declined the offer and just hope we get the correct phone back from them. Shocking that Trustpilot rate them highly - pity I found this website too late.
They received my order but have decided to just keep my goods for themselves and not pay me. Absolutely furious with this company they are a bunch of crooks. Zero help with customer service also. This company (if that is what you could call it) is a joke. It's illegal and should be shut down.
Answer: They quote you a price then say it does not pass the quality checks. They will also not send the items back as they get 'recycled'
Answer: On eBay ‘webuybooks' are often much better described in regard to quality, I've had nice quality games (clean and good condition). If there is any minor disc scratches/marks they do state that so we know before purchasing. Their pricing sometimes changes so at times you can get a great deal if your lucky and grab it before someone else does (similar to MM). They don't hold as many games as MM do and won't always beat their price but they have been reliable in my experience
musicMagpie has a rating of 1.3 stars from 251 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with musicMagpie most frequently mention customer service, royal mail and next day. musicMagpie ranks 61st among Sell Cell Phone sites.
