Paid for one years sub then got a surprise when I was billed for second year.
I quickly tried to cancel however they said it's already been done and too late. I received a part reimbusment. I was not happy so I cancelled and will not use again.
A lesson to be learned for all, check your subscriptions for any company on PayPal for auto billing. You can actually cancel on PayPal.
Other reviewer here is quite right, this site charges a full year of payment after free trial. This is 49$, I end up getting a 40% refund. I don't like this business practice.
Site itself is quite nice though.
Had some issues with site but after contacting developers, they agreed to reimburse me a part of my membership. I was satisfied with this agreement.

Musescore is a platform with interesting content, understand content needs to be paid, but the conditions on subscription are very intransparent, irritating the mix of musescore.com and musscore.org in the canceling process, a pity!

DECEPTIVE COMPANY!
I wanted a piece of music and the only way was to sign up on a subscription but it did not say in any terms that they would be charging my account $39.99. I never agreed to that before they charged me. It is very deceptive practices that they use. I immediately, withing 10 minutes, canceled with them and requested a full refund. After many emails of requesting my full money back, they are only offering a portion. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE DECEPTIVE FROM THE BEGINING. I will be talking with my credit card company to deny the charge.
I unknowingly tried 1 week free trial & although I cancelled within 24 hours they still charge you the yearly fee even thought you cancelled in the allowed supposed weekly free trial timeframe. So just warning others that its not a free- trial but basically fraudulent charge as you are not authorizing it & they refuse to refund you.
Click the "Start Free Trial" button and it will trick you into signing up for a full subscription. Ask for a refund a few days later and they will only do a partial refund. The typesetting on many of their arrangements is poor. It's a company in Cypress. BEWARE--they are a shady company and will steal your money.
I tried the free trial. Very limited number of scores, to expensive. No option to cancel the subscription on the website even before the end of the free trial.
I tried to contact customer support and they are not helpful at all, they did not want to help me cancel the subscription before it renewed and only offered me options that it brings them more money.
Offers free trial but put on pop up which charges full price when clicked as it waives free trial. No contact details and have set up terms and conditions to get prevent refund.
Avoid if don't want to be cheated out of your money
Good luck to all. Interested in seeing this company's profit and how much of it comes from refused request refunds. Seems like it should be profitable for folks who are continually use the service but what do I know. The support team was unhelpful over the week that I complained. Stay away!
Clicked on for a free trial and immediately had £39.99 deducted from my credit card. Contacted their so-called customer services and was only offered a choice of six-months additional membership at no extra charge or a £10 refund. Complete refusal to engage further. I accepted the refund, but all further attempts to contact them were ignored. They kept sending me e-mails asking if I was satisfied with their response and I kept replying "what response?".
Just wish I had used Paypal as I would have had some recourse, with credit card under £100 there's nothing I can do, except leave reviews!

Since a subscription with a free trial period is preselected, if you wish to obtain a subscription without a trial but with a discount, you need to click on the "special offer" button. It seems that you have clicked this option and selected a plan without a trial. This information is indicated in the descriptions of these plans and at the final confirmation of your subscription choice, where you also authorize the purchase or the free trial, depending on the option you have selected.
I'm not someone who EVER writes reviews but felt I had to in this case. I signed up for the 'free trial', decided I didn't have use for the product and deleted the app a few minutes later. I then noticed a charge of $52.99 on my credit card so got in touch with their customer support team to see what happened. They let me know that I'd selected a payment version that didn't include a free trial (what the heck kind of payment option would deactivate the free trial period and why would anyone choose that if they saw it in the description?!) which I surely would not have chosen to do if it had been clearly communicated. I asked them kindly to reconsider their decision since my 'membership' was so ridiculously short lived and they are not 'able' to help. Watch out for the fine print which likely scams a LOT of people into an 'irreversible' charge!
I looked over their site, downloaded a "free" page of music, and was BILLED $660 a few days later, had the first $60 removed from my Visa account!
I swore to them I had not enrolled. "Too bad," they responded. "You owe us."
Don't click on anything (to check it out) and forget to reverse it afterward. You have just committed to a $600 payment over twelve months. They won't reverse it. (But you credit card company might!)
I agree with the numerous other reviews. This company uses a vile bait and switch tactic. You sign on a link for a free trial and somewhere along the way it switches to a full PRO membership without making it clear. Immediate refund requests are met with a canned response offering an extended membership or 25% refund. Really wish I'd found these reviews before falling for their scheme.

Awful site and service. They provide almost no content and when they do it's riddled with errors. Customer service super unprofessional. Overall sloppy operation. Worse part is that the trail seems fake as you're unable to cancel during the trial period and not contacted until after to be told it's to late. Feels like a smoke and mirrors scam.

My experience matches that of many others here. The free trial never really cancels, they put me on yearly auto payment, they made the same offers you see in other reviews, told me they can only partially refund me, and can refund only I first close the paypal case ( not true, closing case means you can never re -open) then stopped responding to my emails. Wish i read the review here first! Always red the reviews before you buy!
I signed up for a free trial and tried to follow the cancellation instructions. Cancel subscription did not appear in settings. Couldn't find an email or phone so tried the chat bot several times. No response, and I was charged for the full year. I tried applying for a refund and got a message that my account doesn't exist. I saved screenshots of all of my communications with the website and am on the way to my bank to report fraud.
Make sure you do not enable auto renewal, it is very difficult to get your money back if the renewal goes through. I cancelled after 1 day and they offered a 45% refund, it's a scam. Plus all the sheet music I actually wanted needed an upgraded subscription. Musescore is a waste of money, look elsewhere.
