Do not use

Needed a new valve body assembly for my transmission, I called and stayed on the phone for two hours with Sam to verify the valve body assembly was in stock and it would ship out in a couple of days. Two weeks went by and nothing, i called and they said they did not have the parts in stock. But could build a valve body assembly with some other parts. They said they could have a different valve body assembly sent to me within a couple of days. Another two weeks went by and nothing. By that time, my transmission had failed. A couple of weeks went by, and a valve body assembly showed up in the mail. Now they won't take the part back even though it's still sealed in the package, because they say it was a special order and build custom for my transmission. The transmission is a 4L60E, quite a common transmission. But even though I was promised a part within three days, and it took close to two months to receive it they will not refund. So, I'm stuck with a $1000 valve assembly that I can no longer use. I strongly urge you to stay away from this company.

700r4 to 292 mating

Called for a flexplate to put a 700r4 trans on my chevy 292 inline six engine they got all the info they asked for and said yes we have the correct one we will send it ups right away.7 days later still did not have it i called was told they were waiting on a call from the manufacturer so i told them to cancel the order then thet said wait a minute then they said it just shipped.Three days later i recieved the flexplate and nothing about it was correct wrong crank size wrong bolt pattern etc.I called to demand a return slip waited on hold for 10 nminutes then was told they were closed fri sat sun they could have said that to begin with.Myself and my shop are done with them poor service wrong parts extensive delays something we do not need very disattisfied i would give them NO STARS

Don't buy anything from Monster Transmissions! I purchased an AOD transmission and it was failing from the first time I installed it. Leaks from the shift shaft and soft shifts. I contacted them and they made me rebuild my governor then told me to take it to a transmission shop, which confirmed it was a faulty valve body. The delay in their responses and actions they made me do caused it to go past the 30 day warranty and now told me to deal with my bank for the refund. They are masters at hiding from their faults and putting the blame and cost on the customer. A total waste of money and time. Go somewhere else for your transmission.

Horrible Experience
January 7, 2021

I ordered a transmission. Put it in, it didn't work. I thought I didn't align it correctly so I called them and asked them for a solution because of this phone call they will not warranty the transmission anymore. It turns out I installed it correctly I ended taking my truck to a mechanic that told me I installed it correctly, it's the transmission that will not work and needs to be replaced. So now because I thought wrong and it's actually their transmission that was faulty they won't warranty it. Horrible company and customer service.

I Urge you to go somewhere else... They pay people to do good reviews. They asked me to do a 5 star review for money off my transmission
I purchased a $3900 transmission with a 3 yr warranty. I received the transmission and on the very first test drive, 3rd gear was not working. I contacted them and they wanted me to pay an additional $800 for them to fix it. For 3 months I fought with them to fix it for free, but they told me that it was my fault and the warranty would not cover the shipping or bench time. I cut my losses and purchased another transmission from a local dealer

Wouldn't go anywhere else

I new I wanted a build transmission to handle my ls base swap to be reliable to hold up to my power and only name I could think of was monster we had sum hiccups but monsters amazing customer service handled everything promptly with amazing service to get everything taking care of! To make sure they have a very satisfied customer! They went above and beyond to make my dream car complete with a monster transmission! Thank you all for everything u have a customer for life! Special should put to Lucas s for going above and beyond to get my flexplate figured out very promptly awsomr job guys keep up the amazing job

I can't believe them!

I recently purchased a 4R75W from Monster Transmission with a shift kit. It was built beefed up and upgraded. I primarily use my F150, which is lifted and has off-road tires and all that good stuff for pulling my boat to and from the lake. It shifts great in the everyday traffic. It also shifts great pulling the boat and it's almost like it's not even like my boat is back there anymore. The customer support that I got from Monster Transmission was great and very informative on how things worked. How the core charge, shipping and returning the core works. It's just an overall great experience and I highly recommend Monster Transmission to anybody that's looking to get something to rebuild themselves or a new Transmission from them. I highly recommend Monster Transmission. Thank you.

I would not buy a transmission for these guys. They take your payment when you order and they wait long enough for delivery that they exceed any time limit of a credit card assistance. The 700R4 transmission I bought was shipped to me 10 weeks after I ordered it. I installed it and did not make it out of the driveway before I knew something was wrong. Hit three gear and my rpm would shoot up to 6000 rpm and my jimmy would not go forward. I called them and they told me to take it to a shop. Shop told me that they would have to open it up further to figure out the cause of way there is no 3 & 4 gear. Called Monster Transmission and they said that I probably installed the TV cable wrong. My shop wrote them and told them it was installed correctly. Monster Transmission said ship it back and they would fix it and if it was their fault the repairs would free but I had to pay for shipping. I asked if it is a manufacture defect would they cover the shipping to and from. Shipping to and from Florida to Alaska is about $1,400.00 and they said know. Took my truck to my shop and they pulled the transmission and found that they took a wizzy wheels to all machined parts and did not install the 3&4 clutch packs. The new transmission was so bad the shop asked me to get a different core. It is really bad when you order a transmission and spend all the time and money ($3,800.00) on a new transmission and it does not work and the service you get will cover their work but won't cover the shipping when it is their fault. They know how to play this game. This is not a reputable company.

Total Garbage

Monster Transmission is complete garbage, the company is a total scam, you will receive a junkyard transmission! Don't buy into the fake claims on their website and don't fall for the fake one line reviews on scam review sites like TrustSpot (also a scam to create fake reviews for your own company). Check out the BBB site to read how they have scammed thousands of Americans with their garbage, every person at the company is a liar and part of the scam. Unfortunately they are based out of Florida which is the scam capital of America, the AG of Florida will not help you and actually make it easy to commit fraud with no threat of penalty. Don't believe the FAKE 'reality tv' shows, they get their parts for free in exchange for advertising.

Monster Transmission sold me a transmission for a 2017 Dodge 3500 on 3/15/22 for $5,205.59. They called on 3/16 and let me know they had to charge $1,017.61 more. On 4/19 they called and said my core was damaged in transit, $2,000 more. Unit gets shipped from their facility on 5/3/22. We get the transmission installed in June and the transmission shop could not get it out of second gear. After two weeks of going back and forth with Monster Transmission July 26 they approved my unit to come back for warranty work, I just have to pay another $358.33 for shipping. I received my bill of lading from them on 8/19/22, they work on the transmission and send it back on 10/13/22. My transmission shop gets the Monster Transmission back, installs it and trouble shoots it for 2 weeks. The transmission will leave second gear but bumps down the road. They suggest we bring it to a Dodge dealer. Truck gets driven 45 minutes to a dealer and stops moving. Dealer confirmed there is an issue with the internal transmission lines not holding pressure. Monster Transmission refuses to refund my money and now wants us to return the transmission again to their Florida location. Will stated they are willing to do the same repairs as last time but they will pay shipping. Will said he must follow policy, so I asked for his manager's information but they don't have phone lines. I would be insane for allowing them to try to repair their broken transmission again.

I have a business and hobby building cars. Have two genius mechanics - one a professor for a state university auto program i work with so many suppliers. Have NEVER dealt with such arrogance smugness and FU altitude than monster

A simple question requires multi page info filled out just what i want a 140$ hour mechanic to fill out. Questions were answeeed with no answers just " i think you voided your warranty". - i havnt even installed anything yet?!
Paid 5k for CUSTOM 4r70w and most important at time was making sure kit included hook up for traditional 1970s speedo. Sure i can get a n adapter but that's $1000 to put in adds in necessary etronics and i believe since it was my concern on order they should have included a Speedo hook up gear in the tail.

So they don't put in what i believe should be the gear they say seriously F-off and bye bye

I ask one question now. Is the 4r70w capable of hooking up to a traditional Speedo - my mechanic says yes- they leave it out make me pay another grand

There is no pride atleast in people that answer my questions and it seems impossible to talk to someone who is A TECH. Who knows something. A lot of wasted time a lot of
Bull$#*! that is un necessary. Why frustrate your own customers by not trying to help solve a problem. If you read other reviews of mi e you will see like for SPEEDWAY they have un-paralleled after purchase service on arrogance no left in your own like monster.

I requested a quote from Monster Transmission for a 2015 Mustang GT. When I received the quote via chat, I compared it to other quotes. Monster Transmission wanted to charge me an extra $1000 for the core, but when I returned it they would reimburse. They also wanted to charge me $399 shipping.

I called and spoke to them and explained that other companies do not charge extra for the core and requested that they do not charge this. Keep in mind the transmission was $4,147.47 plus the $1,000 totaling 5,147.47 so not cheap by a long shot.

I then told the sales person that I had just received an e-mail offering free shipping. When I told him that, he said that was probably an old e-mail. I said nope it's not old I received it 23 minutes ago. He asked me to forward it which I did. I then requested that he talk to his manager to see if they would not charge me the $1,000 and to offer free shipping as per their offer and to send me a revised quote.

Since then, my phone calls are not being returned, my e-mails are not being returned and my online inquiry through their website has also been ignored. Obviously this company is not interested in my business and I can assure you, if this is the way they treat customers BEFORE they make a purchase, I would hate to see what would happen if something were to go wrong with the transmission after purchase. I for one will NOT take that risk and would recommend that anyone thinking about purchasing from them choose another company.

I purchased a transmission thrrough monster and the following morning for reasons unknown to me my mechanic would not install the transmission. As a consumer I dont care why. I asked for my order to be cancelled and my money returned before 24 hours had even passed. I was told someone would call me back and get the refund procesed. Instead I got th manager Ben. Ben seemed like a good guy at first and acted like he was concerned and I went out of my way to put him in contact with the shop. Ben spoke with the owner and seemed to be willing to refund me my money. I talked with my mechanic again and decided to go another way. Upon speaking with Ben again I now have been told they wont refund 2500. 00 of the purchase price. For one year it will be held as a store credit. This should be illegal the product was never even shipped to me. I m not even returning a product just cancelling an order. They may build the best transmissions in the world but with customer service like this I wouldnt consider monster again for any of my projects and I will make sure everyone I know hears this story

Buyer Beware

We purchased a car from a gentleman with a "Monster" transmission (200R4 MCP). The car had 3,200 miles on the new transmission. We started having problems with it shifting excessively hard.We realize that it has a level 2 shift kit, but it never shifted like this when we purchased the car. The seller told us at the tme of the purchase that he paid for a 3 year warranty. We called Monster to figure out what to do. They asked all the normal questions and then they said that there is no warranty. We asked why the builder of the car said it has a 3 year warranty. Their response was "to the original owner only". I said this car has approximately 3,500 miles on it now. Their response was "oh well" it is not warranted. I have since taken the car to a performance transmission shop that works on streetmod cars. When I told them the story about Monster, they said that is typical with them. They will try anything to have to pay for warranty items. It is going to cost me between $1,000 to $1,200 to fix their deficiency in a relatively new transmission. Monster's moto is " We build relationships". Funny if this is building relationships, their idea of a relationship is different than what most peoples definition would be. I even called 4 of the suggested shops that they list on their website. Everyone of them said bring it in and we will work on it, but it isvon a cash bases. Monster never pays their warranty bills. I have since been surfing the net about Monster. You will see a lot of unhappy customers. If you are considering Monster. I woyld reconsider. What a joke they are. BUYER BEWARE

I ordered a 700r4 rebuild kit and Odin torque converter for a total of $876.98. I decided that $170.00 torque converter probably wasn't a good idea and called to cancel my complete order within 12hrs. Of ordering. I was told that there was no order in their possession. I also did not receive an email confirmation, but my amex was billed $876.98. I called 3 times that same morning as I did not want to incur any re- stocking fees or give these people my money. I was told by 2 different representatives that they would look into it and get back with me, Didn't happen. So as a last resort I contacted amex and filed a dispute. I received $689.24 refund which is $187.74 less than they took from me for an order they supposedly did not have nor email a confirmation to. I now believe them denying having an order for me is a way to put you off so they can collect a cancelation or restocking fee. Bottom line stay away from these people. They operate under a corporate veil as Hidden Harbor Capital Partners. Zero stars

Don't do it

Follow up: I had an independent transmission company look at the transmission purchased from Monster Transmission because I did not trust Monster Transmission any longer. They did say I could send it back but since charges for uninstalling and reinstalling still would cost me I chose not to send it back but to have a local transmission shop check it out. The results were that none,…did I say none of the clutches were new/replaced. In fact the 3rd gear clutch was totally burnt out. They did have a new shift kit installed. So this transmission build has now cost me over 6 grand not include the time the truck has been out of service time and the anguish I have suffered.

Since I'm not a celebrity I guess I fall to the bottom of the list. 6-8 week delivery as promised took 15 weeks. The mechanic shop installed the monster transmission only to find that the transmission was slipping. Monster told me to fill a form out for a claim. There should be no claim. There should be some knowledgeable person to talk to in order to have an actionable path forward. My truck has now been out of service going on 6 months. Poor service and not what was promised.
