Dont trust

I support several plp in Africa and warn you to use them, at least not more than you afford to loose. They customer service is the worst I ever experied. Several times the amount are not transferred. You get a info its done, but later you see its not. Sometimes they say they need more info, but its not possible to find out where to answer those questions. Its take long time to get respons on the msg you send.
I will recommend you to use World Remit. I have used them several times every week for years and never had any problems with them. It its something wrong, they refund the amount the same day.

I had issues with their locations charging my receivers a 2% that MoneyGram agreed that they should not do.
It was difficult to register a complaint with MoneyGram; they did not seem to know how to resolve the issue; they simply did not care on both occasions. I would not recommend them.

I never had such a bad costumer service in my life. I tried to call them to cancel a transaction that was made on March 5th, I was not the sender but the sender didn't speak any English, they wanted us to call for an interpreter after 2 hours which we did but twice they hung up on us…. Terrible service

STAY AWAY FROM SCAM

Please stay away from this site, they are full of scammers with deceit, if care is not taken, you will lose fortunes to them and they will block you afterwards. I lost so much to these scammers and they thought they could get away with my funds but i took actions on them after i reported my issues, i was able to get back my funds back and brought them to justice.

I've tried several times, and they won't give me a reason. They just say I'm high risk. My accounts are mostly with BofA whom I've been with for 16 years. I'm a 5th generation American born in Ohio, but I travel a lot, and I've lived in Mexico for the last 4 years. (No I'm not Mexican, and my entire family is Christian, not that that should matter!) I'm about as plain vanilla as it gets with the exception of traveling. The biggest problem with it is that they don't communicate. They will let you sit around for a day or 2, thinking it's just a glitch, when in fact, they're not going to do business with you and just won't tell you. Crappy way to treat people and only a crappy company would do that! I'm resting in the knowledge that soon, companies like TransferWise and PayPal will put them out of business, especially as Blockchain tech is embraced more. What comes around goes around MoneyGram. Maybe it's time for a relic like yourself to be out-competed!

So December first my mom.sent me 200 dollars by money gram I went to pick it up and it wasn't letting me get it with the number I was given and kept asking for my mother's birthday and it's NEVER ever asked.for.that then froze the computer when went back after computer was restated and put in information and it says was already payed out NO it wasn't so called put in a complaint. The post master Here on the 2end of January gets an email saying g it's been all fixed NOPE new reference number put in it comes up as a SOMEONE else name not even MINE call back sorry the money was picked up NO again it wasn't this money was for MY SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDS CHRISTMAS! 😕 THEY HAVE LIED and keep making up stories as to why I can't get that money over and over it's BEEN a month damn well give the money to the right people!

When attempting to wire money to a friend in Thailand on-line, I received an error message. Therefore, I called in and was told that I could not send money. When I inquired as to why, I was transferred to a supervisor who very rudely told me that Moneygram did no want my business, and that he was under no obligation to tell me why.

Flabbergasted, I went on Western Union and was able to wire the money within minutes.

I was mostly taken aback by the rudeness of the 'supervisor', and how dismissive he was in telling me that my business was not important to his company.

His name was Javier, and he claimed to be the highest supervisor I could speak to.

My main concern is that these people now have my financial information!

This is not safe to transfer money with the Money Gram because they don't refund the funds once the transaction is completed. Meaning, if I paid for the service with MoneyGram and the service was not completed, I cannot get a refund. When my bank can handle a refund much better and safer way without the transfer fee.

Their customer service is sh*t, got 3 money orders and wanted them to cancel, but they denied to cancel my money orders,

I would never recommend them to any one.

Disappointed

I had to receive money through moneygram in edmonton. The clerk transferred the money through etransfer. I gave them the right email address. After 6 hours there was still nothing. I called the 1 800 number and explained my issue. The agent told me to go back to the store where this was done and ask for the refund. I went there the following day. The clerk told me to call moneygram as she was not going to do anything about it. I called Moneygram who told me to wait for up to 10 days for a resolution. It was money needed for emergency. I was just devastated. Im still wondering why they say we can receive our money fast when they can do this to other customers. The clerk did not care at all and was not willing to help. She just said: we cant do anything. I tried to give her the ref number to at least trace and tell me what was wrong but no, she was not interested.

1 friend's money was held for more than 10 days
1 friend's money was held for more than 6 days
Emailed them more than 10 times. No replied.
Filled in the online complaint form few times, no reply
Talked to their twitter, just asked me to call them
Talked to their fb, ignored me
Spoke with an indian cs who name is grace, she said she would email me to follow she would follow up with my case, no emails from her at all.
If you want to kill your brain sell, suffer depression and feel ignored, disrespected, go use them

Says you can send money as a guest without an account. That is not true. They want to know everything about you everything. Back and front of drivers license, where you lived, when you bought your hone, cars etc. Now remember you are the one sending the money. Why is this needed in case somewhere in the far future someone may hack your account. The people say there is no supervisiors. So my suggestion. If using moneygram. Do it in persob not on line. They want way to much personal information and the people answeing the phone are not in the USA

Never trust Moneygram with your money.

I made a £2,000 cash money transfer to my wife's account to cover our moving expenses on June 3rd. The transfer was reverted immediately by the receiving bank due to receiving limits associated with my wife's account. An official letter was provided by the receiving bank that the funds were reverted to an account. I immediately raised this with Moneygram and they told me an investigation began which will be resolved in 4 business days. After 4 business days, I contacted Moneygram again and was told that the matter was escalated and I should wait for another 3 business days. This timeframe has now also passed without resolution, and no updates are provided by Moneygram to me.

I have been using their services more than 8 years now and for some some reasons I sent money to a person, not even a colossal amount, $95. Then the person could not cash in and was presented with error code at the bank. I did not think it was a big deal. On the 6th of April, I tried to log into my account and my password wasn't accepted. I contacted them through chat and all they told me was that " Our system noticed your activities and did not like it" Then I asked what kind of activities? " it is a security concern and I cannot not tell you more" For a company that makes fortune from people sending money to other people, I believe this is outrageous and disrespectful. They owe people explanation, this is arbitrary and should not be tolerated. If they are accusing people of whatever they believe in, why not involve Law enforcement? That way the person accused will have a chance to face the lies of the truth. No they leave you in the dark. STAY AWAY FROM THEIR SERVICES!

Misleading information
February 10, 2023

They are a true nightmare. I send some money to my account since 02.01.23, that was supposed to take four busses days. So I was supposed to get in on 02.06.23. But, Moneygram put a hold on it to be released instead on 02.09.23. Today is 02.10.23 and the money is still not in my account. That money is to clear a container I have on the wart that is costing me $60us dollars a day and I am now terrified that my container will by seized by custom. HELP!

Unreasonable
June 20, 2023

Unable to calim the child support that my ex is lending to my child. Why is it possible to send in my name and then unable to claim it. It happened 3 times already. If it is not possible on my name, the sender must not able to send it. Be reasonable. Or this this remittance must have been closed because of its negative feedback.

Scam company
January 12, 2023

I just opened my account and received a message: "after a careful review, your profile is closed, and the transaction is declined" I have not entered the full info. So I decided to chat with support, and they started asking for a lot of documents and other info to upload, I figured out this was a scam and decided to close the account, so they refused to do it.

I have been using moneygram for over 10 years. I am a rewards plus member since I used moneygram a lot. On 8/11/22 they cancelled my account forever. Their reason is, I am sending big transactions. I wonder why they put a 10k a month limit then sending 2k is already big for them. Another thing, they cancel several of my transactions without even telling me whats the reason. I am helping a lot of churches and missionaries around the world that's the reason of my money transactions. I have a weastern union account but before using their system was takes a long time. I used it again and they have updated their system. Goodbye moneygram. You dont value your loyal customer. So those who plan to start using moneygram, don't cuz they don't care about their customers.

NEVER EVER TRUST THIS MONEYGRAM SERVICE.

I'm writing a genuine feedback here which I just experienced with moneygram.

I made a transaction of $4000 sending to overseas and while the transaction is in progress, they terminated my account permanently without providing any reason and they are saying they cancelled the transaction and I'll get refund within 3-4 business days but they are not providing any email confirmation that transaction has been successfully cancelled. They already took my money from my account and now they're just saying over the phone that you will get money back but they are not giving any email confirmation while other side they permanently closed my moneygram account so I cannot track the transaction as well.

WORST TO WORST AND BULL$#*! SERVICE.

I WOULD HONESTLY SUGGEST THAT DO NOT TRUST ON MONEYGRAM.
