I bought this service for my Mom. I bought the equipment outright so I do not need to return it. My Mom did not like using it because she kept forgetting to wear it and was embarrassed because the pendant was so big and obvious. I have been trying for over a year to cancel the service. They are charging me 185.79 a month. I've called to cancel a number of times, they said I had to send a cease and desist letter - which they then say they never received. Their website says to just call and request a cancellation, nothing about a cease and desist letter. Like others complaining about them, I had the same experience with my bank unable to help because it was an official valid purchase. Even if their product is the best on the market (not) their service and their billing abuse are not worth it. Stay Away!
I bought a medical guardian alert device received item. Paid $329.95 on Aug 27. I opened packing box and looked at items. Cheap plastic wrist band or a cord around neck. Plus a device like answering machine to plug into wall. Decided this is not for me. For the price of this device every year renewal, I could buy a beautiful Watch pay once that has emergency fall alert. So packed returned within 26 days paid $20 to send it back and charged $30 fee for having it for 27 days. I had to pay $50 for not wanting an item. I was told if I returned within 30 days there is no restocking fee. I was told this fee was just because it was in my possession. They'll never tell you this. JUST BEWARE OF THIS WHEN BUYING. IT WILL COST YOU $50 to just have it and send back.
While I cancelled my use of this service before ever signing a contract, they are continually charging me. When I speak with "customer service", they tell me I should not have been charged and my credit card will be credited but, not only does that not happen, they send false information to my card.
Do not use this company through Costco.
I ordered this over phone for a loved one that passed before we even opened the box. I asked if I could return it. They said yes. I get an envelope that offers to help the planet by 'recycling' the unit - without any refund! Even though I called and cancelled, they keep charging $49.95/mo, and when I called Keybank to dispute, they came back saying that MG proved I agreed to it. I had to close the bank account, and I'm hoping they can't charge anymore!
For Christmas one year my husband and I paid for one year of their service as a gift to my mother, four months later she broke her hip, had a stroke and went into a nursing home. Her helper mailed the equipment back. Eight months later they charged my account for another year of service plus a charge for equipment not being returned. I subscribed to the medical guardian program for my elderly mother, and unfortunately I signed on for automatic renewals. Later in the year I noticed they automatically charged $443 to my Mastercard, I canceled the subscription as we already had a 24/7 care for my mother and never used the system. It took them over two weeks to reimburse me and when they did they charged me a $50 restocking fee, plus the prorated amount of $13 for their service. I'm sorry but $50 is a ridiculous amount for a restocking fee. I believe this is a way for them to capitalize on anyone cancelling their service. Unfortunately, I will never recommend this company anyone.
