My wife and I bought a brand-New Maytag washer in May 2024 by June 2025 the washer controller was broken and the cost to replace it is $400. The washer is written 10-year warranty but that is a lie again. Their product is crap, please do not buy any of their washer for whatever reason.
Bought brand new appliances from them and the refrigerator broke within a month. They came out twice to fix it but it broke again (same issue) within a month again. Both time we lost all the food inside of it. When we called to address the issue we were told Maytag could not help us. Now I am stuck with an appliance less than 2 months old that doesn't work trying to get it serviced. I will NEVER buy from Whirlpool again.
I purchased a Maytag Pet Pro gas dryer 2 months ago. It obviously was defective due to the high pitch noise which was unbearable when the gas ignited. I called the repair service and they came 4 times to change different components on the dryer. It is still not repaired. After several complaints and communication with the Maytag Corporation and customer service, I was told the noise factor and screeching didn't not affect the service the dryer was intended for- it was considered a cosmetic issue! They offered 15% off of another dryer. How funny is that! The product is clearly defective along with a questionable safety issue due to the gas release and ignition. I will NEVER buy another product from this manufacturer again. All I requested was a replacement or store credit and was told that was not an option. So sad they can take advantage of a consumer.
I just purchased a set of front loaders, the pet pro series. We installed the washer and dryer. The washer worked fine but the dryer was making a grinding sound. Turns out the dryer drum was rubbing against the outside shell. Sent it back and the same thing on the new one, not counting the huge dent in the front of the dryer. We're waiting for the 3rd to be installed today. I wish I'd gone with another brand. Maytag is a very poorly designed and manufactured product. I'll never purchase another product from them.
I've had this washer and dryer less than a year and the washer just stopped filling water. It's hell trying to reach a person but, once I did I was put on hold waiting for a Maytag Rep so I could schedule an appointment. An hour has gone by and they hung up on me. Now I'm unable to get anyone. Very disappointed and frustrated. I hate this product and will tell everyone not to purchase!

4 months after we bought this pair of junk the lid broke and fell off, we called repair and the lonely maytag repairman came out and said it was not under warranty and that it would cost around $500 to repair if he could even get a lid…. Then charged us $70 to come and tell us that we could pound sand. So much for made in America, 10 year warranty… And to make things even better after about a year it sounds like a 747 taking off when it is in spin cycle. This is the worst piece of crap I have ever bought!
You can rest assured that we spare no expense to let everyone we know about the crap you are foisting on your users! And now you have the nerve to want more money for your worthless warranty?

I purchase a new Maytag washer (Model MVW4505MW) on May 29th, 2024. Today is July 2nd, 2024, and this washer has not completed a cycle since. It's been over a month and still not working. Had trouble with it from the start. Tech has been onsite for 4 times and washer still isn't working. They have ordered several parts, all of which have taken over a week to get and it will not work. I had to buy an additional washer (not a whirlpool or Maytag), since I could not wait this long to do laundry. I have been in contact with support (a Joke) and am not getting any action. Would love to return this piece of junk to Whirlpool but cannot get them to tell me where to send it. My conscience will not let me try to sell it or donate it. I am writing this review to let people know how disappointed I am in the purchase of my new Maytag washer and dryer, models MHW8630HW & MED8630HW.
I purchased these hoping to upgrade my Neptune washer and dryer (MADE IN THE U.S.A), for newer models, (ASSEMBLED IN THE USA WITH FOREIGN PARTS), with the hope that they would be as good. I thought I was getting the top of the line, which is what I had when I purchased Neptune's, which, after 24 years still worked and I gave to my daughter who is still using them.
Unfortunately, I have had to have the washer repaired twice for a faulty hot water heater. Yes, I still use hot water on some things and will continue to do so. There are also cosmetic defects in the detergent dispenser that the repairperson requested a new drawer for, and the request was denied because it was not considered a warranty concern.
I also do not like the auto detergent dispenser, especially when I want to use Woolite on a load. You must empty the dispenser or pull it out far enough that the detergent is not dispensed and put the Woolite directly into the washing machine with the clothes.

Kat V. here again. Follow up on my review of Aug 11,2022. I took their 25% off and bought a Whirlpool (same family). I jumped through all the hoops and carefully provided all the info and documents required to the letter. Emailed it all off to their "care" team on August 27,2023. Here we are on March 31,2024 and I have yet to see that cheque come in the mail.
On top of that, they had advised me to buy an extended warranty because it would cost less than $100.00. Turned out to be over $200.00. Lied to again. This company has seriously lousy customer service.
Maytag "Commercial Technology" model # MVWC565FW2. Commercial Technology my azz. False advertising is what that turned out to be. The Control Panel/Motherboard started acting up after 2.5 years. There is a 10 year warranty, but on the parts that you would need to run over with a bulldozer to break but, the most important part, the thing that runs the show, the electronics...is crap... and not covered after 1 lousy year. I don't do a lot of laundry, maybe two to three loads a week and I never overload, because I actually like my clothes to be clean. For the last several months I have been needing to unplug for a few minutes (to reset as per a tip I found on line). The washer would do the wash cycle, then quit. I would unplug, then change to a rinse cycle, then quit. I would unplug and, well, you get the idea. It would not shift to the next cycle.
I call customer service. They offer me a 1 year warranty, in order to get it fixed, for $340.00 CDN. When I didn't like that answer, they offered to give me 10% off that but couldn't help me any further.
They looked up the part. $513.00. I paid that for the washer in the first place!
So they offered me 25% off buying a new unit of any one of their lines. I don't want to create more landfill and I have better things to do than go shopping for a new one. I bought the Maytag because there was a huge sticker on it saying "Ten year warranty" and another saying "Commercial Technology". I was led to believe that I was buying a quality appliance. I seriously expected this washer to last at least ten years without an issue. Silly me.
The whole thing feels like extortion.
Sell an inferior product, then get more money out of you to fix their inferior product.
This company obviously does not stand behind the products they sell.

I have been a loyal Maytag product owner for many years. Recently, my $1000+ Maytag washer (made by Whirlpool) failed after 4 1/2 years, and it was not cost-effective to repair due to the extortionate cost of parts. The washer was hailed away. It was partly recycled, but mostly become landfill.
Thousands of consumers are also reporting reliability issues and failure of their appliances from as little as 2 years after purchase. Across just 3 consumer advocate sites, there must be thousands of complaints along similar lines.
When I approached Whirlpool, they said they would not pay for the repair as that would mean them favoring me over other consumers and that they wanted to treat everyone fairly. This is clearly not the case, as occasionally I have seen consumers writing about Whirlpool making exceptions. If you search for "product reliability washers years" you will see the average life expectancy of a washer is 10 years. The agent told me that the ten years is correct, but after repairs have been made in that time period.What?
Don't bother going to The Better Business Bureau. They will likely do nothing, as they do not share with consumers that company's like Whirlpool are paying them membership fees, which is a conflict of interest.
Other than reliability, I would also never purchase a Whirlpool product based on the negative impact the failure of my product had on climate change.
I think it is reasonable to assume, I am not the only once who has faced this issue. In this case, Whirlpool can sell new washers or make money from selling expensive replacement parts when the appliance fails prematurely.
Finally, based on my experience, their product reliability appears to be at odds with claims on their corporate website that they are actually helping the planet and reducing their carbon footprint.
Shame on you, Whirlpool.

Bought maytag washer Dec of 2022. Day before Thanksgiving 2023 it quit working. Under warranty but can't get replacement parts. Still waiting. How do they build them if parts are not available? Do not buy or let the name brand fool you!
Avoid Maytag refrigerators! The light assembly fails after 2 years the replacement is 55 plus tax and of course you pay shipping-this product
Bought this washer 3 years and l needed new water valve and new control board Luckily l had bought extra warranty.They sure don't make them like they use to. Another flaw is no access to the lint filter at the bottom to clean it out
I will never buy another Maytag product because the company did not honor their 10 year limited warranty even though my appliance was only 4 years old and qualified for the warranty. Even their own repairman agreed it should have been covered and that's pretty bad. I have zero respect for the conpany!
My washer lasted 3 years when the electrical component panel died. The 10 year warranty is a joke. I called them and they said it only covered the motor and drum after the first yr. They are misleading. The dryer also broke down within a year.
Washer "pet pro" quit working after 2 months. Warranty covered the part. Only thing was after many many finger pointing between the repair man and the company on where the part was. After 3 months I still have no washing machine.
My washing machine is barely 3 years old and already has issues. There are times I start the machine and a minute later it jingles and the message says washing complete. So I have to start it again. It also has a belt going bad already. Of course it's not under warranty. Maytag doesn't stand behind their product for more than a year. My old Whirlpool was 20 years old and never needed service once. Sorry I got rid of it. And good luck if you need customer service. Phones are a long wait, they don't have anyone for their live chat and they do NOT respond to emails. I finally messaged them through Instagram and their suggestion was to use a 20% off code to buy a new appliance. Yeah, thanks for nothing. Never again Maytag.

Purchased a maytag washer dryer and in only 5 years the washing machine won't fill on wash cycles only works on rinse and spin and drain and spin cycles. Maytag used to be the standard in these appliances now they aren't worth the money. Very upsetting that a product has fallen so far down the line in reliable products and if asked I certainly wouldn't tell anyone to purchase these inferior products. 5 years I could have had my laundry done by a laundering service for less money than I spent on these pieces of $#*! appliances.
