I love Maxsold!

I'm a real person, you can call me Michelle, that's my real name. I use Maxsold to flip goods to pay for a very expensive Masters Program. They are super organized, kind and I have never encountered it not running like a well-oiled machine. At a recent sale there was a MaxSold worker to help with traffic, I mean come on! The Toronto site and people is very good, I never had a chip or crack (no matter how small) not clearly documented in photos and the description. Yes, there are rules, be on time, bring your own bags and no they can't help you move furniture. I would recommend them wholeheartedly.

Scam

Before the sale the company said they were going to pay us $1400 for what they sold on their site, but after the things got picked up, they sent us an e-mail we actually owed' them for taking the junk' out of our house. Complete scam. Most of the things were no older than 2 years old, all in great condition, including the $5000 king size bed. They spent two days at our house, having lunch and walking around, haven't even helped to take things out for buyers, there must have been 10 people of their staff and still we had to take things on our own, our two little kids running around. Writing this review to warn people not to get into this trap.

Without more information, we cannot reconcile this review with one of our customers and so we believe this review to be falsified for the following reasons (unless additional information can be provided to indicate otherwise):

Maxsold never suggests what a seller will net on a sale, so the suggestion that we indicated a sale would result in a ‘$1400’ seems falsified. We make payments according to the settlement reports which are provided for transparency within 14 business days of the auction closing as only then do we have the final figures for gross sale (net of any adjustments), commissions, and proceeds.
We do not remove items from the house. The statement that we billed a client for ‘taking the junk out of the house’ cannot refer to us as this is a service we do not provide (we are not a junk removal company - we have no trucks and no one to lift items). Our team members are catalogers, photographers, and security personnel - not junk haulers.
Our contract and process highlights that our team does not help re/move things from a home (as outlined in our terms here - www.maxsold.com/terms).

The above highlights that this reviewer has written this for a company other than us based on the elements they have listed as being unhappy with (as they are not services we even provided).

Purchased items from a sale and showed up for pickup as per instructions/invoice. No one there. Three calls to 1-877 number and 2 hours later I was told pickup had been changed to date before. No customer service rep I did not receive an email of this change or do you really think I would be at the pickup site. AND yes I have checked my gps and am at the correct location. My credit card was charged so I submitted a request for refund within 3 hours of original pickup time. 1 week later no refund and now the items I purchased but was not able to pickup are being sold on a local FB marketplace page. Legit business I dont think so.

Long time Maxsold customer. Have been acquiring good furniture, rugs, kitchen appliances, tables, chairs, etc. for my rental home and have been satisfied every time. Do your diligence before bidding and be prepared to accept risks if dimensions are not given, pictures don't show the items fully or clearly, or if descriptions are vague - nobody is forcing you to bid!

So far I've participated in two MaxSold auctions. I can't say enough good things about how the responsive the site is, effective with its notifications and the available bidding tools make for a great experience. The pickups have been well managed and efficient with friendly helpful staff.

My mother found Maxsold first and gave me the web address - haven't looked back! Even if I don't place a bid, I love seeing what's out there. When I have won a bid, the item has always been what it was advertised to be. I've never had a problem with pick up, and in fact, have met some amazing people staffing the sites.

First time I have bid on Auction and now I am hooked with buying. Soon I will need help to get rid of my newly acquired collection.
This is a buyer-friendly auction. I bought six items from seller manage auction for about $325 recently. Two Items were claimed "new" but was used. I was bidding on Item based on wrong information. I demanded a refund and return this Item. Within 24 hours they investigate and resolve the issue to my satisfaction. MaxSold staff are very professional and customer friendly. I don't think any other auction company as good as MaxSold.

Pickup was total chaos. People arrived hours ahead of or hours after their assigned times. Documentation for sell-managers is very unhelpful. Lot numbers were usually not included with invoices or pickup times. That means you have to collate the lists yourself. The cell phone app also flawed. You can't type in dashes, apostrophes, quotation marks, etc. Fees are also very high when you consider that the self-manager does most of the work. Overall, I would not recommend this for self-managers.

We appreciate this person’s feedback and hope they also shared this in their pickup reports so that we could address the ‘human’ issue with the buyers who arrived outside their scheduled times. We also agree that we needed to invest in better tools and information for our sellers. Since COVID-19, we have implemented several temporary solutions in order to continue serving Sellers who must sell due to a downsize or estate settlement. For the past 3 months, while leveraging off the shelf tools to support in this strange time, we have been reinvesting in several upgrades including a new scheduling software (to be released in the coming days) and a new cataloging app (coming online before end of September). We continue to focus on our customer experience while reinvesting all funds made in the pursuit of our vision to Sell. Everything. Finding your way after retirement is as murky as starting a new job, because it is one. Finding Maxsold has been an eye opener into an entire new world. Its not just "looking" at what is up for bid, but its the job of researching from the info given, using various websites and people. The "new" knowledge acquired in mechanics, pottery, painters, clocks, wood, vintage vs antiques etc... is invigorating and challenging. If I had not stumbled onto the website I would not have met a great bunch of people at Maxsold or
Broadened my mind in new directions.

My husband and I have bought many items at MaxSold auctions and find that the process of purchasing and picking up just gets better every time. The local staff are kind and professional and everything is as advertised. We recently ran our first auction through them and the process went super smooth. We really enjoyed the pickup day when everyone came to get their stuff - the people were so happy and we had a great day, plus we made lots of money too!

First became acquainted with MaxSold in April 2019 (my first experience with an estate auction sale). It was conducted very professionally. I was fortunate to be able to purchase a complete 100 volume leather-bound book collection at the April sale.The website is so user friendly. Bidding on items of interest is fun - & winning even more so. My wife & I are now regular shoppers at estate auctions as our favorite hobby. Would recommend MaxSold to everyone.

I Just wanted to say what a pleasure it was dealing with MaxSold. From the first phone call to Bruce to the leadership and auction process with Adam for helping me throw together 2 auctions in such a short time. Also want to give a big shout out to the, on the ground crew of Tony, Julie, Keith, and Kat. Awesome crew and so friendly and helpful. Pleasure working with everyone. Just an incredible experience overall. Sure made the closing of my long time business pain-free and seamless. I would highly recommend MaxSold to anyone who needs to downsize or liquidate a business. 5 Stars, Thanks Again!

2/4/2022 6:15 PM, I sent second message hoping they will do what they promised, "attempt to make it right in your eyes." I think is obvious to every conscious mind, is just another LIE. Maxsold, needs everything from you but you/ I can't get a simple explanation from them. Every normal company puts customers first, except this one. I will keep exposing this strange company so let's see who will get tired.

I've been a loyal MaxSold customer since 2013 when they first came to the Massachusetts area. I've bought furniture, homegoods, antiques and collectibles for myself, for gifts, and to resell. I like buying items in lots so I can keep (1) item and then maybe sell or gift the rest. Sometimes the items are just useful cleaning supplies, or paper goods - anything you can think of! The auctions are always well organized and staffed with friendly people.

MaxSold was overall a great experience in selling our items, but missed 5 stars because... some of the photos they took were terrible, some items were left off altogether, and MaxSold employees spent $1 to get what they wanted when we could have resold it ourselves.

I've been purchasing items from auctions since I first found the MaxSold site. I love that you can view and bid on items sitting at home as compared to driving all over and dealing with tons of people at an auction. I've gotten some amazing deals on just about anything you can think of. The bidding process is so simple. I have had very good experiences every time I've picked up my items. The team is there to greet you and direct you to your items, which are typically nicely stacked in an area, easy access. The team has always been very professional, polite and friendly. There is absolutely nothing that I dislike about this company!

Just finished my third auction with Maxsold and have to say the staff there are awesome. They get things done quickly and have been accommodating to my deadlines. I am a Professional Organizer and use Maxsold as a platform for my clients to sell their goods. I always manage expectations by saying some items will make a lot and some will not but it is an average of the items together. The main thing is that everything leaves your home in those 4 hrs and you don't have to pay movers or post things for sale online, etc..

I've been using MaxSold as an online auction tool for the past 6 years or so. I've found all manner of items and treasures and have been impressed how they have upped their game year over year. Bidding is easy, contact is great, and on pick up day they've always been helpful. Sometimes it's slow, but its usually because people are showing up at the wrong pickup time or getting large items. Overall I am more than happy and look forward to the next auction pick up day!
