I have loved Maurice's for so long and have almost exclusively shopped there. They have gone downhill in the last few years. They have changed their amazing Jeggings (don't fix something that isn't broke) and now they are thick and uncomfortable. Not to mention they made real pockets in front when they used to be false pockets, now they just poke out. The jeggings are now just uncomfortable and unattractive. They do not have near as many cute tops with layering options. Just plain jane tee shirts and ugly tops. They started selling lingerie, pajamas and kids clothes as well. Too many baskets to deal with and are losing out in all the other areas.
Online ordering is a joke, and takes too long to ship, yet the stores have little inventory.
Get it together before a good thing is lost.
My granddaughter and I were shopping for her new school cloths. She is 11 years old and at that age that she is in-between children and adults sizing. We were not finding anything. We walked into the shop are were immediately greeted by both store employees with smile and asking what we were looking for. After explaining our situation they immediately started asking her what she likes and assisted her every step of they way. We were told what size ( 0 short) she needed. Lauren was elated and made to feel so special. I came in with a sad young lady and left with a very very happy shopper. This is her new go to shop and she can't wait to go back. Beware of ordering from Maurice's online. I was notified on Aug. 4th that one item in my order was canceled due to it not being available. The other item was shipping and the third item would be shipping soon. I received the one item that was shipped and noticed online that the item not shipped dropped by $10. I contacted Maurice's and was told that the rest of my items were canceled. I was never notified, but the customer service representative stated that I was notified on Aug. 11th. I had no email she resent me the email but there was no date stamped from the initial email. Then here we are two days later from my supposedly email that my items were canceled and I went online and can order those two canceled item. So in two days Maurice's restocked. Beware they are not renting the truth to their customers online.
So I don't know why they have such low ratings. I'm pretty picky and order a a lot of stuff online. I'm not gonna say everything size wise was perfect but pretty true to size. I've had a pair of Jean shorts from maurices for over 2 years and I wear them a ton! I ordered about 20 things and happy to say I'm only going to return a few. If you want good clothing for a great price I'd say try them!
We bought clothes. They talked us into a credit card for 30% off. Great! Why not? They signed us up with COMENITY BANK. We always paid our bill on time, but when I noticed the exorbitant interest rate, I called to cancel. I closed out my account in February, paid in full over the phone. A month later, they sent me a bill for $9, with a threat of a $40 penalty for late payment, plus the presumed ding to my credit. When I phoned to pay it, they said it was a finance fee from when I paid off the balance. After much pressing on my part, they admitted that if I paid off the new $9, I would later be assessed the same finance fee... for paying off the $9. Fast-forward to now: a new bill for $11. When I called just now, it's actually up to $26. I see no end in sight at this point, and actually dont know how to get out from under this without them ruining my credit. Customer service call center seems to be in India. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MAURICE'S.
The bill was paid in full, 6 days early, in the store. The next credit card statement included interest and a $30 late fee. After spending hours on the phone, successive representatives with poor English skills denied that any payment had been made because they had no record of it. Bank statement confirmed payment was made (check cashed). A call to the store confirmed their record of the payment (I have the receipt and offered to provide it to the credit card rep). The store rep called the credit card dept. (3-way call) but they would not listen to her either! Not sure how to deal with such blind ineptitude.
Today, 2/18/22 I received a e-mail from Maurices Upper Management they apologized and refunded me all the shipping fees from several items my daughter ordered (3) plus a $35.00 gift card. I appreciate the gesture but it's water under the bridge at this point. I chatted with representatives pertaining to this problem which took a great deal of my time over (20 min.) nothing was done until I e-mailed Upper Management. Remember, if you don't receive respect or understanding from the employee(s) contact Upper Management, they are concerned with the bottom line which is a happy customer which means money being spent. Due to the response from Management I increased the review to three (3) stars but, my daughter cannot order from them going forward.
They're quick to process orders, so if you want to add additional items to first order you're out of luck and will end up paying additional s/h fees unless order is over $50.00. If not satisfied with an item will have to pay to return. If you order another item will have to pay again to receive. No free returns or exchanges. Daughter had a order for over $200. But since they refused to refund return fee, I refused to allow her to order. No longer is she allowed to order from them. I had quality issues with a sweater she ordered, it was poor quality to me would never hold up, maybe one season at most. But, you get what you pay for. Line of clothing is more for the younger women not for women who desire quality clothing.

Purchased the boots 11/10/21, wore them to work in a professional indoor setting 1-3 times per week (approx). They wore out, heel busted on 1/29/22. They didn't even last 3 months!
I ordered easily enough, received product quickly, price seemed affordable enough until I realized the product was junk. Love their stores, very displeased! No place to even leave a review of product on the website, so I emailed instead.:-(
The quality of the stuff is low and doesn't wear well. I bought a sweater, washed it to wear and it looks like it's years old!
I shopped at the Ashland location yesterday. I tried on multiple different items. I wear a size 1 in jeans. I tried on multiple different pairs and I was swimming in all of them. Even the 0's. When I spoke to a stylist I was told they don't carry anything smaller.
Their sizes are complete bs. Everything runs so big. They mainly cater to the plus size community. Which is wonderful! But they shouldn't advertise as XS-3X when their XS fits like a medium.
Everything is extremely poor quality. Over priced garbage.
Just go across the street to Walmart.
I called ahead to New Richmond Maurices to let them know I was coming in to get gift cards. I was there at 8 doors were already locked with customer inside. I called to let them know I was the one who had called about coming in for gift cards and she refused to help me. Horrible customer service. I was nit lot coming for anything fit two 50.00 dollar gifts cards.
Ordered 3 pairs of jeans online Dec 11.
One pair immediately said ready for pickup, the other two pairs had to be shipped. By the time the other two pairs said ready for pick up the first pair had been "picked up" already. Ive emailed and called and when I picked up my other two pairs the store associates tell me there is nothing they can do at store level.
I usually spend an hour + trying to resolve an issue and give up on trying to explain myself. Typically talking to 3+ people with different answers from each of them.
Received my order 5 weeks after placing order and items were both damaged, had holes in both sweater and they don't want to refund me, offered me 5 $ discount for damages. Also, Items in pictures are not at all the same in real life so don't get fooled by their great pics!
Clothes have a pretty design but the quality is not the best for the price. They are overpriced. I can find the same designs but better quality and price in Kohls or Macys. T
I recently purchased 3 tops. I have received 2 of the 3 and one of them had a clearance tag on it. I was charged $19.78 for one of the tops online and it was sent to me with a clearance tag on it for $7.98. They are blatantly taking advantage of the online shoppers. We trust that you are honest and reputable and when you think we aren't looking you take money out of our pocket! I WAS a loyal long term customer but once I have spent my gift cards I will not longer be a customer. I'm super disappointed, I loved your clothing! Try harder to be better than your current practices!
Made an order on May 27th. Order shipped June 2nd via FedEx. Today is June 9th and order still hasn't updated past "label created" I reached out to FedEx and they said that they have not received the package. Customer service claims they sent it. No one will tell me where my package is. I received another message today saying it will get here on June 8th by end of day... its already June 9th so they obviously have no idea what they're talking about. They don't even know the date. I understand that things are delayed with the pandemic and that's not the issue. The issue is they refuse to take responsibility for misplacing my package. I asked for a refund but they only refunded the shipping cost of $9. I spent over $100. I have filed a complaint on with the BBB and I will be contacting my bank because I was scammed out of my money. Absolutely avoid shopping online. This was my first and last time ordering here

I had used their customer text option because initially my order said it was eligible for free shipping - but I got to the point of payment and it was still displaying the fee to ship. So I was messaging with a client services agent and she said I would not be charged and to just proceed with the payment. And that if for some reason it did end up charging me - she would credit it back. It charged me. She then informed me that although she would credit the shipping - I would be subject to additional duty and tariffs because she didn't realize I lived in Canada - this was NEVER disclosed to me, nor was the fact that the charge was in US dollars. She then told me that I would have to wait 24-48 hours for the money to go back into my acct. Even though I literally cancelled it on the spot moments after ordering. Throughout the remainder of the conversation (which I saved) she proceeded to lie to me three more times. I wasted 2 hours of my Sunday on this absolute JOKE of a customer service line. Still waiting for my refund. They have 2 days left to put it back in my account. I will NEVER EVER shop there again
