This dating site mate1.com is not a site I would recommend to all my single friends, most profiles are fake and lots of scammers, I wish I had read it's past bad reviews before joining... I was a victim.
This site really sucks. If only they would manage it better. I have been offered more proposals to have sex or watch girls undress on cam. This isn't what i signed up for. It takes forever to cancel also.
This place is crawling with catfish. I finally wrote mate1 and told them that they need to pay ME to turn in the scammers instead of me paying mate 1 to have my mail box littered with them. I cancelled the membership after 3 weeks but NO refund... they keep the money.
Ive found that with mate1 there are a lot of real girls on the site in my locality and a fair amount are up for a chat. But Id probably say go for wejustfit.com, for London anyway. Not sure about other cities as I live in London and that site is the only one that has actually make me happy.
Solicitation Fraud for Money. Just trying to look in the place with untruthful notices someone is interested in me. Then have to sign up to pay for services. How could someone want me, if my Profile hasn't been looked at? I see in my Profile 0 Views. Get dozens of responses that said they saw my Profile and the Site wants me to subscribe first to go further. That is Mate1.
EDate is super hard to cancel.
EDate is entirely fake.
You can't cancel eDate electronically.
You have to find the hidden text to cancel:
"You may cancel Your Membership at any time by: (a) calling Us toll free at *******828 between 9AM and 5PM EST Monday-Friday and 10AM to 4PM EST Saturday to Sunday".
Sorry, it is a waste of money. I lost $20 CAD to eDate.
The list of "messages" in the screen grab below is not that. Nobody messaged me nor will they message you. It is a list of suggestions to hit up. Nobody is interested in you because it is fake! Don't get sucked in.
Best of luck, guys.
All the views that i got were from girls 19 to 38. And no matter where the home town was, they all seemed to know each other.
I have received 3 messages from people who claim to be young girls on this site. In this case the ages were, 33,35, and 36. They are date scammers saying they grew up in the states but are in Africa for various reasons.
I've been on mate1 for a while 3 months. 4 months all the women claim their from Africa or have a past relative that has passed away and they had to go to Africa to claim their inheritance... I've never sent money to anyone of them but they try to get money claiming it's the beginning love process if I owned the site I would have a truth entering policy.
Its complete trash. Circa 2010 to August 2014. Still just a bunch of euroskank running up our CC# to act like they are right down the road. I live in a super small town. Trust me I would know if there were 15 hotties that lived here. Try 2 and they are both married and cheating on their husbands with the other husband abd we all know except them.
I have been on mate1 for just over a month and haven't met any girls yet but Iwas able to chat with several nice people. Beware of scammers though. It seems like you will find plenty of them. Like I said, you can e-meet some nice people but in my opinion other well known dating sites like Mingle2day (if you upgrade your membership to gold it is top notch) or even Badoo (if you use your common sense and invest a lot of time and patience) may be a better option or at least a good alternative. Anyway, it never hurts to use more than one dating site to figure out which one you like the best.
They have more bots and scammers than you can possibly imagine. No one is real. If you want real dates and stuff, you could try AFFeels.com
I found my luck many times there. It's not just about juicy chat messages and spread legged pictures, it's about a real thing. If you know how to woo a woman and you have at least basic good manners, trust me, you gonna have lots of fun and success there. Just avoid lame sites like eDate – it's a total money scam. Each time you write a letter you pay £1.50, so bots do their best to keep your writing. They are only busy with conning people out of money. Do your wallet a favor and avoid this bull crap!
Better read their terms and conditions before you use the free trial. I chose a 3-day free trial and checked my visa charge account and they had charged me $49.95. Then I went in and ready their terms and conditions - and yep, there it was. They will charge you full membership if you do not remove your profile before the free trial period ends. I sent them a message, stating what I felt about this and that I am elderly on a fixed income and to refund me. Doubtful that will happen!
Joined the site a few days ago. Have already been contacted by guys who are mostly in Texas (I live in Scotland!)
Have afree a few hours chat received 2 marriage proposals.
The grammar is so suspect and the speed that some of the messages are written at is lightening speed.
Also suspicious that the messages sent are all similar to each other.
Will stick with it for another day or 2 as reading some of the reviews on here makes me think there are genuine guys there but I will not be holding my breath
Have messaged a couple of local lads just to see...
I have been on Mate1 for about 3 weeks, out of over 1200 messages, not a one has been real. Even if I were The Rock himself, I wouldn't want to dig thru thousands of fakes!
Horrible site - stay away.
Mate1 used to be good (circa 2007), I met many friends there including my BF.
It was never for serious relationship type guys, but the people use to be genuine and really good people (albeit a bit naughty).
However lately (since 2013 - or earlier according to my friend), when I visited again it was just scammers. Male in my case and seem to be from overseas pretending to be American - ohh they so bad that they sometime do not even knowtheir city or the uni that they said they graduated from.
Not worth a browsing anymore.
70% of the so called women on there are either from Africa or web cam whores. And then if you forgot to cancel you have to send them an actual letter on why you want a refund! Seriously who ever runs the site are total morons and should be shot and the site should be taken down! Biggest piece of $#*! site out there!
I had someone 'from' Alaska who had very poor English 'convince me' that she was interested in me (age 67; her age 30) She even called me on the phone (at 2:00 AM in the morning!) Then after weeks of short emails; etc. she wanted money to fly from AK to WA. That is when I figured out it was a 'total scam'. Beware; no 30 yr. Old really wants to meet someone 67 yrs. Of age. (she also showed a 'passport') yet her NAME did NOT come up in a seach of he home town!
I went on the site with an open mind and a purse heart, wanting to be able to date and hopefully have a relationship develop because of it. It seemed to me to be more of a "penpal" or "collecting" of "likes" site, as I got zero dates. I felt that I "almost" got one girl to meet with me for coffee, but then that fell through. I just don't believe in these "likes" sincerity. If you like someone's profile and you think that there may be a match between you, then meet that person. You can't find a relationship without meeting them in person. Bad experience, I cancelled my subscription and will never renew it.
This site is nothing but scammer after scammer. There is no attempt by mate1 to screen out the scammers. Photos with text numbers are allowed to be posted. Profiles with phone and email info is routinely posted. No one appears to be proofing these profiles.
This site is a scam, or it is frequented by scammers. Within days of joining I recieved "interest" from "girls" who had read my profile. I had to be suspicious... what interest would a 22 year old girl in California have with a 50 year old man in a small country Australian town. When you go on chat they ask you if you would like to see naked pics... this in turn leads you to a pay porn site... not what I was looking for... A "Grooming" site for the unwary... beware...
Answer: It's true. They don't let you cancel when you upgrade your account. Just don't get in this trap! It's a waste of money especially compared to http://AdultsFinder.club Or any other old good legit dating site (the one I mentioned is 100% hookup oriented with its total nudity allowed policy ;)) Use Edate only if you want to be left high and dry and livid. Their servers are built with sticks and mud – your financial data is not secured. They overcharge you all the time. You meet fake profile after fake profile.
Answer: How do I contact you to cancel and refund my money
