100% FAKE!
October 20, 2018

I joined with a cheap trial membership just to see if this was real. Well, it's absolutely FAKE. I checked out 39 female profiles and 37 of the 39 profiles I did a deep dive on came back with FAKE photos that were pulled from other sources. Two photos came back as inconclusive. This is so fake I think it's got to be criminal fraud on the part of the company.

I made the mistake of being on Mate1. The once in awhile fakes became the all the time fakes. I kept looking for the real deals only to find more and more clever scammers. Some were obvious, but some were very good. Complaining to Mate1 does no good,. Why? I suspect they are controlled and owned by scammers. Avoid it and maybe it'll go broke and die.

I took advantage of the 3 day trial membership and when I noticed that they charged my credit card for $49 I immediately called. I cancelled and asked for a refund. I was told to read the conditions of the subscription. They wanted a handwritten letter postmarked no later then 72 hours after my phone call, mailed to them with everything included. I did this. Today I got a response saying I was not eligible for a refund because I used the site after my 3 day trial. I went on the site for information as to how to cancel and get a refund. They have a real racket going on here. Most people will not write for a refund and if they do they have another way around it. I will dispute this further. This is taking advantage of people.

I've already regretted for spending even 2 EURO on this $#*!. I only came to read all those reviews after the 3 days membership. Now im only worried that they will charge me another month's membership fee even if i have already cancelled my subscription. I feel so pity on myself for joining this mother$#*!in piece of $#*!.

Well, not every experience is the same and I can only speak from mine. But I have used it and I think it may be the second best dating site I have used. I personally liked Mingle2day a little more but this site also seemed pretty legit to me. Don't know where all the negative reviews come from?!?!

There really should be some way to get a refund from these scam artists. You have to wonder how they manage to sucker people into using this site. Not that I'm an Adonis, but this must be the collection site for the hideous. Yeesh. And then you get the people that post obvious fake pictures of much younger and attractive people... asking you to text them. The mistake they make is creating separate profiles using the same fake photos. What a waste of time and money.

Pure Garbage,...
July 25, 2017

What else can you call a site that charges the males, a monthly fee, and allows females to use the site for free?... What you get are females who have all the time in the world, to show fake interest to keep the males from cancelling their subscription. Avoid this piece of crap site, with phony profiles and made up interest to get your money.

Mate 1 is bunk
June 8, 2015

Mate 1 is absolutely bunk! Many of the women are not real. They will give the same responses and say the same things. Again and again. Only to lead you to video cam websites where you need a credit card or they are in Africa school in or nursing where they claim they are in love with you and will eventually ask for money. A very common scam. Some of the women are real but not many. Hope this helps someone. AVOID MATE 1 LIKE THE PLAGUE!

I don't like this site because they place ads on every free dating site indicating it too is free. It is not. You can set up a free profile, but then you cannot contact anyone nor open any messages sent to you without upgrading to a monthly fee. I don't care if it is not a free site, but please be honest and say it is not a free site. Also The pictures of the pretty girls on the ads, have been the same for years and in small print they all say "may not be an actual mate1 member" -- I think the whole thing stinks... and for months now after setting up my free profile... I get all these emails of people trying to contact me or sending me messages... cannot open a one. I clicked on do not send e-mails/unssubscribe at least a half dozen times on the e-mails, but they keep coming. Seems like a SERIOUS scam.

Mate1 is a terrible website for those who are looking for a date or potential someone. I was propositioned for sex, ask to give money by just about every person that contacted me. I believe that this is part of the "scam" of the website. 50% of the women that contacted me did not exist. 80% asked for my cell number to text me. 20% At some point in exchanging communications ask for monry to be wired to them or various reasons. You have got to be kidding me. And I paid for this?

Mate1.com Is Phony
August 6, 2015

This website is a scam. The responses are phony Mate1.com are the ones sending phony responses. They also pretends someone hot-listed you. No one is hot listing you but Mate1.com. Then they have you looking like a fool by responding to an e-mail from a person who you thought emailed you; telling you how interested they are in you. The only person sending you an e-mail 75% of the time is Mate1.com wanting you to think someone is interested in you. We ought to be shame anyway searching for that perfect soul mate on line anyway like a total idiots. Be aware of those men and women who email you after 11pm. These type of individuals wait until their wife, husband, boyfriend or girlfriend go to bed and then they start tipping and dipping. If you want to meet the perfect hoodlum just log into Mate1.com hey will be waiting for you.

You sign up, and you're immediately getting messages or sent "ice breakers" another way of messaging and I mean IMMEDIATELY. Within 24 hours of signing up I had over a dozen emails and ice breakers to sort through! The problem? When you reply back to these interested women, you NEVER get a reply back. They hit you up one time (probably from the people running the site) and never reply to you again. So they draw you in thinking there's a lot of women that want to get to know you (emailing you that this women just sent you an email, don't keep them waiting)... but when you email them back, you never get another response again. You'll get at least 3-4 emails a day of women contacting you but again, when you reply back... nothing ever becomes of it. Complete waste of time. Stay away from this dating site at all costs.

Fake fake fake
October 8, 2018

Most of the photos appear to be fake.

The sites gets you to sign up by sending emails stating you have messages. When you go to the messages (after paying the fee) the messages are all Mate 1 match notices; no actual; real messages. Feeling very ripped off with this users experience

Mate. 1 is the lowest of the low. The website is LOADED with fake profiles or women from other countries, or prostitutes, the list goes on and on. I'm too old for this. The website Mate. 1 should be shutdown for false advertising and misleading info. Will NEVER use this site ever again.

No one I messaged through the system answered. The only women I heard from wanted money. The first one said she was a contractor in Nigeria who had all her money stolen and could I please help her, she even sent an image of a drivers license. I reported her to police. They said they had prior reports about that identity being stolen. Next one when she said she was not at home in KS but in Nigeria I told her right a way she was a crook. The last one I believe really was in WY but she wanted an I tune card so she could talk to me.

I am a senior looking for a significant other and started with Matchseniors.com. As I went through their questions instead of joining Matchsenior I ended up on Mate1.com. After looking at it for a while I decided to do a 3-month subscription. In the first day I received 100+ messages all of them wanting my phone number or wanting to give me theirs... this is the true mark of a scammer. When I called Mate1 customer service, since I was within the window for a refund then sent me an email supposedly to their user-agreement where in section 5 would be the process for a refund. I was never able to get to their user agreement let alone section 5. So I am going to eat the $30 and write a few reviews about my experiences with Mate1. My suggestion would be that you run from Mate1 as fast as you can and avoid MatchSeniors. This is definitely a case of buyer beware. John M.

Massive scam!
February 5, 2020

This is by far THE worst dating site I have been on. I paid for 6 months up front. Right off the bat I was getting likes and getting present icebreakers from plenty of women. I thought wow this is great, that didnt last long.
EVERY single woman who I had a mutual like with I messaged. And not a single one replied. Bear in mind these women liked me first.
This site is complete BS! Do not waste your money!
