Terribly Out of Date
January 11, 2025

My business has been closed for more than 12 years now and they still have me listed despite numerous, numerous repeated requests to remove my listing. I find that their site is badly out of date and only causes me to receive spam phone calls. It is annoying to try to deal with their customer service who takes my requests to remove my listing and simply ignores them. If they are 12 years behind the times with me, I wonder how badly they are doing overall. Mapquest should just shut down altogether if they are really that far out of touch.

Undermining our Business
December 2, 2023

Posting rouge info, unknown photos, incorrect map locations, showing duplicate locations that do not exist. Its intentionally executed to blackmail us in to paying services to fix their false issues they ilegally created - to collect money. I guess we can all do these type of business practices now, its all good in USA

Thanks to "mapquest" I could not attend My Nephew's funeral due to mapquest horrible directions! I was so saddened and heartbroken. Mapquest directions first started by saying that it would take me only 1 hour and 30 minutes from My home to My destination when in reality it took Me over 3 hours! As mapquest sent me through the longest way to get to My destination! And thanks to them I could not make it on time for My Nephew's Service :( Memories like this can never be replaced. I would and will never recommend this website for any kind of directions! As I found out from another website "google maps" In fact that My trip would take "over 2 hours" and not 1 1/2 hours like mapquest informed me of and especially when mapquest had sent me through the heaviest traffic directions causing me to miss such a special event in My life which I can never relive. I am so very disappointed in mapquest! If possible and if I could I would sue mapquest! That's how upset I am with this website! :(

Tried getting directions by car from point A to Point B and found the site utterly impossible and a waste of time. When out of frustration I changed the start point to make it easier, the site insisted on starting from the initial start point entered. Then, whatever appeared on the window could not be read because of all the ads. I would never recommend this site

Long time user and in my opinion, Mapquest routeplanner used to be an excellent program to effectively plan multi-stop trips. I Have tried to use it for the last couple of months and it is now totally dysfunctional. It will not effectively or efficiently download Excel files. When I manually load the addresses it changes all of the addresses to the same address. And if it does indicate it "re-ordered" the stops, upon inspection it has not. I have followed all of the Mapquest route planner recommended fix's numerous times and they did not do anything, just resulted in a big a waste of my time.

When I type into the address fields, many of the letters that I type are skipped. This isn't happening when I type a document, or anywhere else - just the mapquest website when entering addresses. Also, it used to be able to make better guesses if you didn't get the address quite right, but now it just plays dumb. It's way less user friendly in July of 2022 than it was when I last used it - maybe a month or two earlier. Booo! To changes that aren't an improvement.

I can get walking/driving directions but no transit directions. This is useless. This is useless and it wants me to keep saying that until my review is long enough to be helpful. Is this long enough? It's still useless.

Johnny's Plumbing
June 18, 2021

We've been living in the Crystal Springs community for over 15 years & have used a number of plumbing companies in that time. I have to express my satisfaction with Johnny's Plumbing. He came about a week ago to replace my water tank. Great job! Took his time & upgraded my tank. I paid less than another company who gave me 2 faulty units & were rude to me. (Mr. Rooter). John came again yesterday to replace my garbage disposal. I got a better unit & he charged me $110 LESS than the last company that came. He is honest, fair priced & takes his time to get it right. No complaints here. I wholeheartedly endorse & recommend Johnny's Plumbing. Nice, personable guy too.

Oh for the old mapquest! Now you get stops without requesting them, but eliminating them changes the route you just dragged back to where you don't want it. It's very touchy and wretched. I will not use again sadly. Why do new owners screw up a great thing!

TERRIBLE
December 27, 2018

Absolute worst app form traveling. DO NOT USE unless you have more patience than God. I have to write 100 words to submit so you can stop reading. I believe I got my point across. Please let me know your preferred app like google maps or any other suggestions. Waze is pretty good but I'm still working out the kinks.

Not User Friendly
August 3, 2017

I've noticed that a common problem with modern tech society is that when everything is working well and requires little or no maintenance, people start to worry that it looks like they're not working hard enough and consequently, not impressing their supervisors. This causes constant, unnecessary "updates" and/or "improvements" which usually make the product worse. People worry about keeping their jobs instead of just doing their jobs. The phrase, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" has been around for so long because it's true. Why do you think the gigantic entertainment web store that starts with an "i" is constantly being updated unnecessarily? I think that explains why products like MapQuest "degrade" over time.
Welcome to the 21st Century! Get used to it. It's only gonna get worse people.

I could always count on Mapquest until recently. Did it change ownership? Streets that have been there for decades are no longer recognized. I contacted Customer service via email and they added the street I needed but, still didn't come up with the directions to it. What's happened to this once great resource? It's now, virtually, useless.

June 21, 2016

The new website is HORRIBLE. Way too many buttons, pop ups, menus, etc. Gives me anxiety just looking at it. I type in one city and it auto fills with a different city. Guess I'll try google or some other similar site.

Useless map
November 20, 2019

What a piece of junk. I thought Google was bad with its "dining" menu on the side when trying to find places. Mapquest with all the pop up crap, advertising etc. It is amazing that you can even see any map information.

Yelp just removed a fraudulent review by an imposter Andrew W. From Flint, Michigan. So, Mapquest has now posted the exact same review! This is abusive and criminal behaviour. Mapquest you are shameless!

As most of the nation knows by now, there is a huge problem with Yelp and the method they use to determine which "reviews" to post. Yelp has an algorithm that favors posting negative reviews and hiding the positive reviews. Well, MapQuest picks up all of Yelps "suggested" reviews. These two companies are ruining the reputations of hard working businesses. Shame on you MapQuest! Either collect reviews from several sources or don't re-post reviews at all! By doing this, you're no better than Yelp!

SiteJabber founder one: "Hey! Let's make a Yelp-like site, but for other web sites!"
SiteJabber founder two: "Wow! That's a great idea!"

- the only problem is that unlike most restaurants and bars, other web sites have help available on-line and methods to contact them on their site, too. Stop wasting your time here and go to the sites (like mapquest.com) and use their customer service portals to complain about your experiences. It will actually reach someone who cares.
