I'm disgusted by Yelp. They admit that they choose which reviews to post, and the rest are hidden as "not recommended." If the review is negative, they give it a greater weight for posting. The rest of the reviews they hide as "not recommended." Yelp ruins hard earned reputations by doing this. So based on the Yelp algorithm, for those of us who do not sit around and post Yelp reviews all day, if a person does one review and it's negative, it gets posted. If someone else does one review and it's positive, it gets hidden as not recommended. If you want to get a review posted, you have to either write a negative review, or be a serial reviewer for multiple businesses---that's how the algorithm works. Mapquest needs to stop picking up Yelp reviews. The nation is getting disgusted with Yelp, and Mapquest is going to go down too if they don't get a clue.
