MY GOD, the ADS!
July 5, 2020

I used to rely on mapquest a lot for planning travel. But now, the ad pop-ups are so distracting and annoying I'm likely going to delete it. It's also far less user friendly than it used to be. Very disappointing. Sold out to advertisers.

I used to use mapquest exclusively for any city I visited or even for areas of my city where I was not familiar with streets. For the last 3 years it has become virtually unusable. There is a wealth of hotel info, but the driving directions seem to be geared to the longest routes. Maybe that is as intended to tout restaurants and hotels. You can no longer click and drag the parts of the route you know... it takes main highways only. So sad, and no longer worthwhile

I moved to Raleigh/Durham last September '18. Several people told me wife and I not trust Google Maps in this area. And to always pan out and "SEE" where the planed route is taking you,
Many times it took us on some pretty out of the way routes, and not due accidents.
I will NEVER use Google maps again.

After using MapQuest for 6 weeks now, I have not had a single issue. Plus, I like the time line on top, where it will show how many minutes your are from the destination.
I'd give MapQuest a constellation if I could!. Cheers! David C. Miller

This is the one for the iphone app. It is great as it directs you from your location and then it both is followed by reading the directions which are very easy to read, and it also has a voice so you do not have to be looking at the gadget every few minutes.

I agree this new form is not user friendly. Please give me back the old mapquest!
Used the old form extensively. I could plan how to get from one place on a street to another location on the same street.as well as plan long distances. If some like this new form, ok, but give us the old form too!

New mapquest
June 1, 2016

When making travel plans with multiple stops the old mapquest gave you the time and distance for each stop. This was very useful and the new version does not do this. The new version is no good to me because of this.

I have been a long time customer of Public Storage since the 90's when it was Minikahda Mini-Storage; they were bought by Minneapolis Public Storage a couple of years ago. I am currently living in California, and had not been in my storage lockers in Minneapolis for 5 years. When I was recently home, and needing to quickly resolve a situation involving new locks, I was greatly helped by Alexander. I was fortunate that he was at the front desk on the day that I came in. Alexander researched what had happened with my lockers during the new management (a lock had been cut off). I was very glad to have the mystery sorted out and resolved at that time. Alexander, even while helping other customers at the same time, gave me his full attention and came upstairs with me to my lockers to see what he could do to help. I am very grateful for Alexander's prompt and effective problem-solving!

I used to use this app daily. Now it's not just "not user friendly." It's straight up unusable. Its now makin me log in. Signed up. Nothing happens. The site says you can use it without logging in but it's not true. Why would you change something nobody is complaining about? Absolute garbage. Switching to google maps. PS: Thanks so much for getting me and my autistic son who had a meltdown lost in New Orleans. Went to use it when I was lost and that's when I discovered it no longer works.

SiteJabber founder one: "Hey! Let's make a Yelp-like site, but for other web sites!"
SiteJabber founder two: "Wow! That's a great idea!"

- the only problem is that unlike most restaurants and bars, other web sites have help available on-line and methods to contact them on their site, too. Stop wasting your time here and go to the sites (like mapquest.com) and use their customer service portals to complain about your experiences. It will actually reach someone who cares.

Too bad you had to screw up your mapquest page! It's more difficult to navigate and I do not like the way it's displayed on the map! I liked being able to add stops with A, B, C etc and move around to obtain the most efficient routes, not good anymore! This is a prime example that when you think you've got to make something new and improved you just end up loosing the benefits it already had. What a shame!

Mapquest used to be good - simple, straightforward. Now, can't get past the pop-ups, motel, restaurant, and assorted ads - so crowded with "stuff" and that's on the desktop. It's unusable in its current format.

Worst Site
August 19, 2019

If there is a for worst than worst please let me know so I can add to this review. This site is worst than MSN.com. All they wanted is for their adds to pop out during your search. Go somewhere else like google maps next time. Better yet invest in a cheap GPS. Will be worth it.

No longer usable
June 20, 2019

Mapquest now strives to be so "interactive" and "responsive" that the pages changes while you are typing in your information. It is so laden with ads now also. I will stick with Google Maps. At least they succeed in communicating the travel info you need.

I travel a lot and would like to use them and after the new release pointed out over 30 bugs. Haven't tried it for awhile, but it is still awful. Just basic stuff, dragging, showing the right map profile are still messed up. Been in software 30+ years, one of the worst upgrades in the history of software. Ready to go back to a paper map.

Tried it after google maps lowered its contrast and was hard to see the streets.
I live in Zagreb, and mapquest simply does not work well there. It does not recognize streets that have been there for more than 50 years, etc...

Anyways, must look for something else.

The ads/banners are extremely irritating. Some companies never learn the lessons of history, or maybe they getting paid by their competitors to showcase how bad things are on the other side.

I echo previous comments. I used to use Mapquest all the time. It was my go-to resource. Now it is just a waste of time. They say you can alter the route by clicking and dragging but mostly you just click and drag the map all over the place. I liked being able to hide parts of the directions and zoom in on tricky route changes. Kiss that goodbye. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. It's broke, now.

Has become useless
March 13, 2017

Why can't you simply put an address or location in the box, hit enter, and see a freaking map. Isn't that what the site is supposed to do? Why are there 3 layers between entry point and actually seeing a map. UX is poor. The added 'features' are there to simply support advertising/revenue. Bad trade off if you lose users forever.

One of the worst online experiences. I'm guessing mapquest is desperate for an income, but someone has to tell the head of design they've gone way over the limit to allow visitors to the site to get to information they need. Fighting ad after ad, just gets me to X out and go elsewhere. It definitely doesn't invite me to struggle for information. Before I can book a hotel or whatever I may need, I have to understand my route, where I want to stop, what's around the hotel, etc. They have their name right it is a quest for a map with mapquest!

So many things wrong with this. Why can't I print individual maps for individual steps. Helpful in older areas with older roads that change names, etc. I hope that Mapquest wakes up and goes back to what worked great
