Ordered 3 times from MakerGeeks.

First order arrived in 3 weeks, then I decided to order the 3D Geeks Box, charged and shipped within 2 weeks. Great box, well worth the money, would have been a 5 star review. Here is the problem:

This is a monthly subscription. The next month I was charged I waited 3 weeks and never saw that moths box, send email. NO REPLY

Waited a week sent another email. NO REPLY

Waited 4 days and sent a 3rd Email: NO REPLY

Opened a dispute with my credit card company.

Too bad because I love the filament.

Great support and fast responces
March 21, 2017

The filament works great. I contacted them about needing only a 100g of the makerflex. I dont use flexible filament much. So far I have only used 150g in a year. I asked if they would sell a smaller amount than 1kg since I personal dont want to store extra filament I dont have a plan to use. They said they would send some out right away without charge. 10/10

I run a Makerspace at a community college and work with 3D printers on a regular basis. I know good filament when I see it, and I use Maker Geeks filament with my own personal machine. Prints come out very strong (it is a tough, higher temperature PLA, not brittle like so many others. A small piece of filament fatigues when bent, rather than snapping or cracking). The filament captures fine detail well. Layer adhesion is great, and the filament diameter tolerance is consistent. It is an affordable PLA with results comparable to very expensive, high-end filaments. I order the 1.75 mm PLA, in regular Maker Geeks colors, as well as their recycled PLA, and have been very pleased with all of them. Packaging is good, with silica gel packets in resealable bags which work well for dry storage. Labeled with proper print temperatures.
Also, the customer service is good. I have emailed with questions, and received prompt, helpful responses from the owner.
This is a good company, and I recommend this filament to fellow makers.

I have used 5 spools of MakerGeeks filament so far (abs, PLA, PETG, and raptor PLA) and have had great success with all 5 so far. It has all printed just as good as the Hatchbox I have used in my opinion. Their shipping has always been quick for me and I got my first monthly box yesterday and it was a great deal. I'll be buying two more surprise boxes from them soon, just because I can never make up my mind what to get because their selection is so great.

I used their 30% off deal on 3 Rolls of filament, 2 in black and 1 in blue. After a week, I still had not gotten any notifications or updates on my order. I emailed them to get an updated and got a response 2 days later. It turned out my 1 blue filament was on back order. I had replied the same day and asked if they would just send out the black filament ( I needed it for a customer) and send out the blue when it arrived. After 3 days, still no response, I emailed again asking the same question, and they said the black would ship out the next day via USPS. A week later, and again, no package, tracking number, or update of any kind. I emailed a final time for an update or cancellation of the order, as well as express how displeased I was at the lack of communication or updates. The response was we have cancelled your order and "Thank you". No apology, no trying to make things right or explaining their situation. These things can be understandable if updates are given or explained!

This was the 3rd time they have done something like this. They have spurts of being a good company, but even though they have decent quality filament for a good price, I can't deal with the customer service issues. They have now completely lost me as a customer, especially since I lost my customer orders because of this.

MakerGeeks needs to get organized and get their stuff together. It is no way to run a business.

I ordered the clear glow in the dark filament on Black Friday of 2015. I saw a sale and purchased it. I received an email confirmation that payment went through and payment came out of my bank immediately. Two weeks go by and realize the shipment has not come in, and being in the US, it is somewhat odd. I check the order and they were on back order and they said they were sorry and due to the holidays, they are backed up. They should have another batch of that item in next week, I wait after the Christmas rush and no items. I send another email asking for an update. They said it is the holiday rush and still backed up but I will be the first to get it in which will be in 5 to 7 business days. I got this reply by 12/27/2015. Today is 01/08/2016 and still no item or update, I email them that I had waited enough time and I am not happy about it. I would like a refund and to discuss or voice my experience with the complains department or someone. They asked for my address to give me a check for a full refund and they will gladly give me a refund. I see now that they do not want my business which I shall take it elsewhere. I will await my refund and if I have delays or problems, I will update this review.

Ordered Material that was Out-of-Stock, no notice from Maker Geeks until I emailed them. Their website says 2-3 days for shipping, I waited over a week. When I reached out to them (via email) all they could offer was expedite shipping, regarding the MSDS I requested, I never got. Website is unprofessional when material stock isnt updated.

I WILL NOT BE PURCHASING FROM MAKER GEEKS ANYMORE.

I am writing as a 3 year Maker Geeks Customer, who has been involved with 3D printing for 5 years.

I hadn't received any filament after 1-month of waiting. I requested a refund and I have heard absolutely nothing from their "customer service." It's now in the hands of my bank to deal with sub-par company.
If I can make a recommendation:
Hatchbox and ESUN are durable filaments that I use quite a bit with my Prusa i3 and Makergear printers. I was going to try out OD green filament from this company Makergeeks -not any more.

I ordered some spools of any random color back in November. In December I emailed them about the status and got a form response that they would be shipping in 2-3 days. Now its February and I email them again about that order. Got same form response again but some hours later they sent a tracking number. I suspect my order would have either sat for even longer, or forever, if I hadn't contacted them.

My first order with them was similar. Got half of the order pretty quickly but got nothing said about the second half till I contacted them. Some weeks later the other half shipped. I believed them at the time about the last half being backlogged in production, but seeing pattern now.

Not once have they ever contacted me or updated the order details on their site about any order being delayed. This info can only be attained by emailing them directly.

Their site will always say everything is in stock regardless of if it is or not, nor will they give any indication that any part of your order is back-ordered unless you ask.

Now that I see the same issues others are having with makergeeks, I wish I would have looked before I purchased a few hundred dollars worth of plastic and joined the monthly club (Which I will be cancelling this week) - Like many other reviews, I have multiple orders that are pending over a month and they have excuses for everything, and have promised to ship my orders three times now - not to mention a credit they owe me that has been promised for over three weeks now. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere - even the few spools I did get before my current issues were just OK - one jammed into a print since the spool was not wound correctly, I need to unroll a fair amount of the spool to get it to correctly feed for the remainder of the spool. To recap - I have over 20 spools on order and if I will ever get them remains to be seen - This weekend I will be sending each charge to Visa and I will request that they block Makergeeks from charging my card. Lets address that one now as well - a Business is not allowed to charge you until they ship your item, but Makergeeks and Josh are all too quick to take your money... wonder why :)

Happily surprised
April 11, 2018

TLDR; Received in less than a week, beautiful colors, and very durable but needs higher temps than most other PLA. Would and will buy from them again.

Ive read so many bad reviews, that i was kind of scared ordering from Maker Geeks, but i have heard that their Raptor PLA is quite good for making HT and rugged parts while still being easy to print like regular PLA. So i figured i would go ahead and give them a shot. I ordered the grab bag or whatever it is called and purchased 2 spools, one the crystal series PLA and the other being the raptor. And after all the "horror" stories about not receiving packages, i was honestly somewhat surprised (sorry MG) that i had the package at my door in less than a week. Of course eagarly opened it up to a spool of a brilliant, almost pikachu/lemon yellow, and a vibrant crystal blue. Very stoked with both colors, and both have been printing quite well. Both need higher temps than usual PLA, at around 230-240C for both with the raptor liking even more heat at higher speeds. The only issue i have had has been with light "popping" in the blue, and slight under-extrusion in the Raptor. But these issues have been continually getting better as i tweak the settings. So i will without a doubt buy from these guys again! Sorry this is so long, but i figure that with all the bad reviews that they have been getting, they deserve atleast one in depth positive review on them

Maker Geeks advertises very cheap filament, but the business is a scam. Here's how it works: if you place small orders with them (which almost anyone will do at first, to test them out), they will ship it. It is mediocre quality (apparently much worse now that in the past, given the recent reviews), but is indeed cheap. In my first two orders, they screwed up both, sending me the wrong color one time and the wrong filament size the second time. Nonetheless, I figured that if I ordered just one type of filament, in a single color, they couldn't possibly mess it up. I placed a very large order for our business. Besides an order confirmation, I heard nothing from them for two months. When I followed up, they sent the basic "will ship soon note." After three more months, I asked for a refund. They agreed, claiming they would refund it right away. Not yet realizing that this was a scam, I assumed they did so, and stupidly didn't check my credit card statement. I placed another large order six months or so later, and got the same treatment. Crickets. I emailed them, and didn't get a response. Needless to say, they never shipped it, and never responded to requests for a refund. I then looked back and discovered that they had lied about refunding my earlier shipment. The scam works like this: they make sure to fulfil small orders the best they can, in order to lure in (with big sales) large orders from high-volume companies. These folks are the least likely to be checking back to see what shipped when, if things were refunded, etc. They do not actually fulfil large orders. As others have found when investigating, their physical address is bogus, and they do not have a phone they will answer. Basically, you are left with no recourse once scammed by them, except to initiate a lawsuit. However, to do so, you would have to discover a real physical location, which would likely require hiring a private detective. This is a scam masquerading under a veneer of incompetence.
