I placed a $120 order right in-between (minutes) a 20% off and a 10% off sale. After figuring this out, I wanted to obtain the 10% off discount, (cause that's 2/3 of the way to another spool of filament). I emailed them, they didn't respond, so I emailed them a second time about modifying my order. Finally they reply, and after about 8 emails of me asking if I could modify my order, I could tell the rep just wasn't getting what I was trying to convey. I clearly stated I wanted to obtain the 10% off discount, and add to my order as well. Shouldn't be that hard. After much back and fourth, I basically came to the conclusion on my own that I would just have to cancel this order and re-order. Once I asked to cancel my order they told me they'd handle it right away and that it usually takes about 4-5 days to process. I figure wow that's longer than most places but okay. I wait, I wait about 8 days then I email them only to not get a response. I email them again, they tell me my return is being processed (which I was skeptical of cause I never got an Order Cancellation Confirmation) and I would have they money in 4-5 days. I explained to them that it's already been 8 days and that I would like someone to check the status of my return. I also questioned why I didn't receive the confirmation email. No response. On the 10th day with multiple emails sent to them I decide to call the Amazon Pay Department. (Luckily I used amazon pay for this). I explain to them my situation about how the vendor was refusing to answer my emails, and has yet to return my money. The rep says she'll try and contact the vendor and that I should get my return within 48 hours or I'll have to file a case against them. I kid you not, within two minutes of me getting off the phone with Amazon, my Confirmation of Order Cancellation email magically appears (after days of me asking where it was) and the refund was in my account instantly. Funny how fast they respond to Amazon huh? So they email me back in the email I sent days previous about how disappointed I was with their customer service, apologizing claiming that this was the first email they had gotten from me. A blatant lie, I had been emailing with them days before and they chose to stop responding. I even had to start using two email addresses cause they kept ignoring the one tied to my account. They then tried telling me that they've been emailing me at the email tied to my account. (I've never missed an email in my life). I've also never had an email not be successfully sent to anyone. They hadn't emailed. They had been ignoring me.
Now they bust out their generic "Apologize, this is the first email we have from you... we have however emailed you before to let you know the re-Claimed filament was/is on backorder while we wait for more "resin, spools, parts" to be reclaimed, ground up and run. Either way, no worries and I hope you have a great evening sir. Thanks again,"
At this point, they're just blowing smoke up my you know what.
Next they tell me they haven't ever received and email from about any order complaint. I literally have an entire thread of email with them back and fourth about this exact issue? I sent them screenshots of all the emails I've sent them that hadn't been replied to. If they had really sent me emails, they would just be able to forward them right to me again so they could prove they did contact me. They refused to do so, because they didn't email me back. They didn't have anything to forward me, and If I hadn't contacted amazon I would have never gotten my money back. Everything seems to be fine, until you have a problem. Just stay away and buy from MatterHackers or someone trustworthy. I'm just overall so disappointed in this company because I wanted it to be as great as it claimed to be. To bad the owner is over promising and under delivering. They've been telling people on the BBB website that they've been "working hard to hire more help" and I just don't see how that could be true with how they're preforming. I think they do a fair ammount of busniess at the commercial level an aren't concerned about their online customers anymore. They've been using the same apologies and excuses since the beginning of 2018. Stay away, cheap filament isn't any cheaper if you never get it.
Don't order from these crooks.
I can't leave a review on Makergeeks Facebook page so I leave it here in hopes that people can see it. This is a long review so make sure your comfortable. I have mixed feelings about Makergeeks. The filaments themselves are great, every one I have used have printed nicely so far. My issues is with the company itself and how they handle orders. If you get their Grab Bags beware that you may not get what you ordered and you with probably get multiples of the same color if you order more than one Grab Bag. I have made a few orders with them and everyone of them I have had issues. So lets start with the first order. I ordered some of the Maker Series and Crystal Series in PLA, ABS, and PETG and a few misc. Things. I recieved the PLA and ABS and one of the misc things but my packing slip showed that all of my order except for the Crystal Series PETG was in the box, well it wasn't. Apparently they were back ordered on the PETG and it would be a couple of weeks before I got the rest, I let them know that the packing slip was wrong and they said I would get everything on the next shipment. Well I did get everything except the Crystal PETG, so I contacted them again and they said that I received my Crystal PETG on the first shipment. I told them no and referred them back to my previous email. Well they fixed and sent the rest of my PETG. I figured they are swamped with orders and mistakes happen. I decided to give them another shot since they were having a 20% off sale site wide and placed two separate orders. Now on the order two. This order made me especially upset. This time I order Grab Bags of Maker ABS, Maker PETG, and Raptor PLA. This one again I received everything except the PETG again. This one also came with no packing slip. With the Raptor PLA I ordered two grab bags so I got four rolls, what I received was 1 roll of pink and 3 rolls of natural. This really pissed me off because Raptor series is $15 more per roll. I get you can't pick the color with these deals but come on, the person who picked my couldn't mix it up a bit and give me four different colors instead of two. It was just as bad with the MAKER ABS I got 8 rolls and two were natural and one was a roll of reclaimed ABS. I also got 3 rolls of Crystal ABS instead of the Maker series. If I wanted Crystal I would have ordered it. I contacted them about it and all they said is they would put a note to only give me Maker Series with the next order I was waiting to be shipped. This brings us to order 3, This is a pretty big order and was now expecting some screw ups. I was not disappointed. With this one I ordered a Mini Kossel kit, (it comes with 4 free rolls of filament so I picked the raptor PLA), Maker PLA, Glow in the Dark filaments(PLA, Flex, ABS, and PETG), Boss Black Flex, Dragons PLA, A surprise filament, green PET tape, and kapton tape. You probably guessed it, no PETG again. Also no Boss Black Flex, PET tape and no Mini Kossel Kit. I knew the PETG, Black Flex and PET tape weren't going to be in the box since it wasn't on the shipping email. But it said I was suppose to receive Kossel kit. The filaments were all different colors this time so that was better but I'm pretty upset that the kit wasn't there. Also be aware that the colors you will get will probably be red, blue silver or black. They have so many different colors and different shades of them but most of my filaments I received were their basic colors. Also the surprise package I got was a roll of silver which I already have two rolls of. So beware that with Grab Bags you will probably get multiples of the same basic colors, you won't get what you ordered, and you won't get all of your order at once. I'm all about give people second chances and forgiving mistakes, but not when it happens with every order. I am not the only one who feels the same way about this company. So order at your own risk.
Update:
Since I wrote my last review I contacted them about my orders and since they couldn't tell me when the printer would get in they thought it est to just cancel the orders and refund my money. The good thing about this is I got to keep everything they sent me so far, the bad is I have to wait a little longer for the stuff I wanted. They did promise to contact me when they get the printers in stock and to honor the 20% off they had going when I placed my original orders. I figure I'll give them some time to get their process in order and try again.
I have made three orders from Makergeeks. When you order filament, the "availability" always says, "Usually ships next business day." I think this doesn't mean what they think it means.
On a Wednesday in September '15, I ordered 4 rolls of filament. I was charged the same day.
A week later, having not heard that my order was shipped, I emailed them. They emailed me back the next day saying my order had just come off the machines and would ship within 24 hours. It shipped 6 days later, and I received it after another 5 days. Total time from order to shipping: 15 days. Time to receipt: 3 weeks.
In October '16, I tried again, with 4 more rolls, all of which said "Usually ships next business day." They shipped PART of the order 5 days later, and I received it 11 days after I ordered it. The other part of the order... I didn't get until FEBRUARY '17, almost 4 months later.
I made one other order in between, and I received it in a somewhat more reasonable 9 days.
But their shipping speed, on products that they advertise as "Usually ships next business day", is NOT reasonable. When I contacted them, I was given a promise that they did not follow through on, and a later order was even worse!
Not all is rosy with the filament: two spools of the PETG had poor dimensional tolerance (1.62-1.80mm variation within 10 feet in the middle of the roll). They incorrectly state that PETG has "near-zero warp-age or shrinkage" (it does warp, but for different reasons than ABS) and that it is as easy to print as PLA (it is not). They claim their filament is vacuum packed with desiccant (it is not vacuum-packed... but their ziplock-type bags are a good alternative and they do include one TINY package of desiccant).
Perhaps worst of all, the web site is chock full of hot air (much of it cut-and-pasted into EVERY page on the site), and extremely thin on hard data. Nowhere can you find a reasonable collection of temperature and other printing data. The play the "BIG SALE" game, pretending that the "normal" price on their filament is $50 a spool, and then tell you that you can get it for "as low as" $18. Well, sure... if you order 12 spools of the same type and color at the same time, but for most people you're going to be paying $25 per roll for garden-variety filament. This is not particularly cheap filament.
I do have to agree that it looks like almost all of the 5-star reviews on this site are fake.
Yes they have free (slow boat) shipping. Sadly for them, in the Amazon age, nobody is impressed with that anymore. I used to buy FlashForge-branded ABS and PLA for $13 a roll on Amazon until they stopped selling it there, and that stuff was as good as Makergeeks' for half the price (and still free shipping, and I get it fast).
Here's the thing... I DO like the Makergeeks filament I've printed. I've tried their PLA, PETG, and ABS. It prints fairly well despite the shortcomings (most of which are hardly unique to them... much of the available 3d filament is crap, even when it's not cheap).
But I'm just not sure I'm going to be buying from them in the future, because the BS factor, combined with the slow shipping and untrustworthy customer service, is just too annoying.
They have made me mistrust them the old-fashioned way: they've earned it.
This is the best filament I have ever purchased! I constantly try new filaments, and I am always comparing brands. THIS IS THE BEST EVER! The dimensionality accuracy is out this world! MakerGeeks is by far the best in the biz! When I need the best filament in the world I go with with MakerGeeks! They are a USA manufactured filament made with the finest ingredients! But seriously I am not blowing smoke (at this time I have around 100 kilos of their filaments on hand) I run a 3d printing hub, and maintain 6 3d printers that I run around the clock. With all the recent advances in 3d printing my clients demand the Best! I get the most consistent extrusion with their product and I always have clients blown away by the quality! Seriously This product blows away the competition (if you can even call it that), I have a few key factors I look at when deciding which brand to purchase... these include material strength, uniformity (consistency in diameter), color, and surface finish! MakerGeeks continues to blow the competitors out of the water! Oh and did I mention that I live in the USA and I always get this material within a day or two of ordering! YES! And also The PRICE OMG they beat everyone else out on Price, but the quality is what a made a Geek out of me! MakerGeeks is now my Religion! If you want the very best TRY IT! This is Epic filament! One last thing I would like to say is if you have any doubts TRY IT! There are a few competitors out there that are scared of the quality product MakerGeeks is putting out there... due to their Newly updated equipment and their experience in manufacturing the best filaments ever... MakerGeeks is now one of the biggest manufacturers if not the biggest US manufacturer of filament and it has brought out the trolls of these foreign companies/competitors (and they are trembling in their boots/bare feet)! If you have any doubts TRY A SPOOL! You will be so thankful you did! I have found this amazing company and never looked back! Sure I still try other filaments, and thus far Nothing can compare! This is my favorite company and they are the BEST OF THE BEST! Keep On Geekin On! KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK Guys and Gals! YOU ARE THE BEST EVER! THANK YOU for being AWESOME, and creating the best filament known to Makers around this world! I personally and professionally recommend this Company to all! I could go on forever about how trustworthy this company is and the awesome products they manufacture!
This is Really the best company EVER and then a whole bunch more!!!! I LOVE THIS BRAND!!!!!

In 2016, the Better Business Bureau did an investigation on MakerGeeks.com after having received numerous complaints from its customers. In its report, the BBB gives MakerGeeks.com a rating of F, which is the lowest possible score.
https://www.bbb.org/southwestern-missouri/business-reviews/hobby-and-model-construction-supplies-wholesale-and-manufacturing/maker-geeks-in-springfield-mo-*******/alerts-and-actions
In case above link doesn't work, just go to the BBB website and do a search on "makergeeks.com" or "Maker Geeks" (2 words). Here is a quote from the BBB report:
"The BBB has sent the complaints to a previous address in the Springfield area via USPS and they were returned to sender. Complaints sent to the current address for this company have not been answered.
"BBB files indicate that this business has a pattern of complaints concerning delivery and refund issues. Consumers have ordered and paid for products and the company has not delivered the product to the consumer or issued a refund."
"BBB rating of F"
MakerGeeks has a history of cheating most of its customers. From my own experience and from reading complaints from others, I have detected the pattern. Their M. O. is DELAY. Customer places order but item is never delivered, or only a partial order arrives, or even an empty box is delivered. Customer emails customer service, which is the ONLY way to contact MakerGeeks because they do not list a phone # or mailing address. Customer receives friendly reply from Joshua Smith (owner of MakerGeeks) saying stuff like: sorry for delay, item is back-ordered, there is a rush due to the holiday, supplier says it will be in next week, some sort of problem with carrier, maybe your package was lost in the mail, etc. Customer tries to be patient and waits longer for delivery. After numerous emails and delays, patience finally runs out, and the customer asks for a refund, at which time Joshua Smith says something like, "My apologies, but since the transaction is over 30 days old, we can't issue the refund to the card we have for this order." Instead he offers to mail a refund check." Of course, refund check never comes. The friendly emails from Joshua are all DELAY TACTICS to keep customer from disputing the charge with his credit card company. Because, of course, MakerGeeks does NOT want chargebacks!
What Joshua says about a 30-day window is not true, by the way. Customer actually has 60 days after statement was mailed to dispute the charge with the credit card company. And some credit card companies will allow even more time than that (mine did). But Joshua hopes to convince customer it's too late to dispute the charge. Then he can keep the money even though customer never received the item and no refund was sent. If you never received the item you paid for, and never received a refund, then I recommend disputing the charge with your credit card company even if it's been more than 60 days. If MakerGeeks gets a lot of chargebacks, they will be placed on a "risky merchants" list, which means higher fees for them. More importantly, if they get too many chargebacks, their merchant account with the credit card company will be terminated, which will SHUT DOWN THE BUSINESS because they will no longer be able to accept credit card payments. The more customers complain, the sooner this will happen. All their FAKE 5-star reviews will not keep them in business if enough customers report the fraud charges to their credit card companies.
From my original 3-24-2016 review: Maker Geeks never shipped the item I ordered. I sent many emails to Joshua Smith, the owner of MakerGeeks.com (*******@makergeeks.com and *******@makergeeks.com). Joshua kept saying item was backordered and would come in soon. I got tired of waiting and requested a refund. Joshua said he would mail a refund check, but no check was sent. Joshua lied and said it was mailed and he would do a stop payment and send another check. Of course, that check didn't come either--because he never mailed anything. While stringing me along, he was very friendly and chatty in emails, but abruptly stopped replying to emails once the jig was up. Back then (same as now), there was no phone # listed on their site, but via an online search, I found an old phone # *******092), which I repeated called. Same as now, no one ever answers that # and the call is forwarded to an automatic voice mail system, where you can leave a message, but won't get called back.
Joshua claims to be a Christian with the goal of "reverse tithing" and says "MakerGeeks.com is a Christian and Christ centered company and I believe that God is in everything we do." [Invoking God is sometimes used as a marketing ploy to earn trust.] Maker Geeks does not list its phone # or its full address on its website; it only lists "Springfield, MO". I found an address on another site, but it's not a legit address and mail sent there is returned undeliverable.
I found another online company of Joshua's: "Hello, my name is Joshua b Smith and I own NRGX Labs Sports here in Springfield, MO. NRGX Labs Sports is a sport supplement company that was founded in 2008 with a simple motto: 'Excellence in Nutrition.'" Another site says: "Hello, my name is Joshua Smith and I own NRG-X Labs here in Bentonville, AR." I can tell it's the same Joshua Smith because on the "about" page, he mentions being a Christian and having the goal of reverse tithing.
I went through a huge amount of hassle, but I was at least fortunate to get my money back--not from MakerGeeks, but from my credit card company. Capital One did a fraud investigation and did a chargeback. It refunded the money MakerGeeks.com took from me because they said I have zero liability for fraud. I'm grateful that SiteJabber gives me a way to warn other people about MakerGeeks.com.
