LYFT is portal to Hell
March 9, 2023

LYFT is one of the companies that sucks so hard, they threaten to create a black hole capable of dragging all of humanity into oblivion. A virtual portal to Hell, their software is designed to steal your money and charges you even when their drivers don't bother to pick you up. When you complain about this, they send you a message like this:

Naiomi (Lyft)

Hi Bruce,

I'm reaching out regarding a recent complaint to the BBB regarding a Lyft issue! I'm very sorry to hear that you were charged a no-show fee for your ride on 3/8.
I understand how important it is to make sure you are fairly charged. I reviewed the ride for you and can confirm that the no-show fee was correctly applied since your driver arrived at your location and waited for you to arrive before they cancelled. I'm very sorry but we are unable to issue any refunds for this no-show fee. You can find more information on ride cancellations by visiting our website here: Ride Cancellation Policy Information
Thank you for your patience while we reviewed the complaint and the ride. We appreciate you!
If you have any other questions, please let me know.
All the best,

Naiomi

The only thing LYFT isn't "very sorry" about is CALLING ME A LIAR! It's not the five bucks that irks me so, $5.00 is nothing. It's being dismissed as if I didn't see their sriver come down the street in perfect synch with their virtual map and continue on right past my house without even slowing down! Then I got to thinking, if you do this to a million people, you make $5,000,000.00 which is real theft! I needed that ride! I had an important appointment. No way to call the driver or anyone at LYFT. They don't care, you're their sucker. If we all just write off the five bucks LYFT will continue to steal from us. LYFT's email responses are made of the stuff Matadors stand in and they should be shut down for the massive fraud they commit daily. Too many people are repeating the same claims for it to be bovine excrement. LYFT is corrupt…don't consider using their service, just go burn a $5.00 bill and save yourself the aggravation. LYFT sets the customer care bar so low you need shovel to find it.

Terrible experience. The driver left when I tried to open the trunk and didn't give me my suitcase. I've been trying to contact him all day and night through the return item form and Lyft support. It wasn't until the next day that I received my suitcase, and Lyft charged me another $17 for returning the suitcase (for gas to the driver). When I wrote to Lyft support that I didn't forget my suitcase and that the driver didn't open the trunk for me, they said they were not responsible for the passengers' belongings and I had to pay the driver. I saw that Uber is responsible for the things of the passengers, and, of course, never charges passengers in such situations. What if I had to fly out in the evening? The driver didn't even apologize like it was normal. Now only Uber, deleting my account from Lyft, and I advise everyone!

My last ride with them deserves zero Stars. I booked a ride at One price and was billed another. When I booked my ride I was told the car would arrive in 11 to 15 minutes, it actually took 1 hour and 54 minutes for a car to finally arrive. Three drivers canceled all of this after I received the 3-minute warning and then again the one minute warning which says be outside your driver is pulling up. They never came. I've been trying for three whole days to reach someone at Lyft for them to correct the price and make me feel valued as a customer. None of which has happened. I have been told we will take care of this for you we will refund the ride. Initially I didn't expect to have the whole ride refunded I expected a discount and a satisfactory apology. After speaking with the last chat agent I have reached my limit. They are not worthy of me as a customer. They are the absolute worst. There motto should be we are Lyft, we don't work for you, but you will definitely wait for us.

Wait and Save fares...ultimately cost double!
March 6, 2023

The concept of "wait and save" fares on lyft is great. If you have the time and are willing to wait longer, then you fare price is lower.
Buuuuuutttt, what happened to me can happen to anyone and her is the warning. I booked a wait and save fare before morning rush hour and got a great rate: $60. I waited 20 minutes for a driver to be confirmed but when I did, the driver who confirmed then messaged me to cancel the ride and he did not want to take me to my Destination. I waited another 20 minutes messaging back and forth with him telling him that he needed to cancel not me. NOW, 40 minutes after my original request, I am in middle of rush hour and ride price jumped to almost double that original fare at $110. That is an insane difference. The pain of then trying to identify and complain on the issue was terrible and Ultimately they credited me $5 and said that my fare was not overcharged. Sooooo, do not book wait and save fares.Great idea but in practice, the drivers can refuse to take you and you have no power over them.

Disappointed!
March 4, 2023

I had a ride with a driver less than five minutes from my home. The driver lied and said my mother and I damaged his vehicle. He put my mother's walker in and out of his vehicle do how did we damage his vehicle. The driver knows how much he was getting before he picked us up, if it was less than what he wanted he should have not taken the ride. Scamming customers is not the way to go. I have reached out to Lyft about getting information about the damage and no one has reached back out. Giving someone money because they say so is not professional! I deserve my money back because if they look at the records they can see that no driver has ever claimed I damaged their vehicle! Please check your payments before giving your stars.

Wanted me to pay for his gas!
March 3, 2023

Ford dealership paid for Lyft to take me home after I dropped off my truck. The driver had to stop to get gas while I was in his car and asked me if I could give him his TIP in advance in cash so he could buy gas!
Then when we got yo my house he told me I "was very attractive and hoped I did not find him saying so creepy". I said thank you and shut the door. I did NOT tip him! Then after he backed out of my driveway he burned rubber in the street and sped away going probably 40 mph! I was pissed! Could not rate/review him because Ford dealership was the customer.

Misleading sign-on Bonus
February 25, 2023

I signed on with Lyft with the understanding that once i complete 100 rides in 30 days, I will receive an $1,100 bonus and the person who referred me will get $500 referral fee. After doing an live chat and speaking a customer service representative to confirm this, apparently this is not true. As a handicap minority who has an amputated left foot, I would work tirelessly in hopes of completing the task at hand. I actually completed it in 15 days but kept working because I thought this was a great company to work for. To know that I was misled to believe this is very disheartening. I am going to make sure this happens to no one else. I am on a fixed income and was expecting this bonus to help with bills.

Lyft is on its way out
February 25, 2023

I have been a driver for Lyft for almost three years. The platform just permanently deactivated me because a mentally unstable driver decided to write in and tell them I ran over his toe. This did not happen and the claim was unfounded and false. But Lyft still deactivated me after doing 5000 rides in two and a half years. They do not care about their drivers which is causing most of us to move to other rideshare possibilities, which then leads to no drivers in your area and high prices from the app. Lyft does not care about its drivers, nor its riders, which means that they will be folding very soon, as they are not able to keep drivers happy, and therefore are having to raise prices severely for drivers that don't exist.

Horrible
February 23, 2023

I was waiting for over 1 hour. I received a text said the driver will be there in 10 minutes. Driver canceled ride and I was never notified. I ordered Uber after an hour of waiting. Uber showed up in 5 minutes. First time trying to use Lyft. I will never use them again. Horrible service.

How could anyone trust a ride service that cannot do anything right?
Spent too much time trying to become a customer. They are hopeless and not at all responsive or helpful.
They kept telling me the problems were mine.
No, my good credit cards, American Express, 52 years of perfect credit, and my national CitiBank Costco card were not the problem.
It was Lyft's website and a totally useless customer service. Their "help" answers were not on point or at all helpful.
Cannot believe I spent so much time with a customer service that provides absolutely no solutions.

Scheduled a ride to the airport 3 days in advance. He didn't show. No contact telling me. Pitiful service! Nowhere to complain on Lyft app. Left me scrambling for another ride. Won't use them again as I can't trust them. I would give a rating less than 1 star if I could.

Taking too long to get a driver
February 8, 2023

My first ride with Lyft and will be the last., this company paying drivers so low that couple drivers refused to come pick me up even when a driver was only 3 minutes away from where I was. Finally they got a driver came pick me up after 50 minutes of waiting, make me late for the greyhound bus to Dallas, TX for my job orientation. They changed me $48 and paid driver under $20 for that ride, no wonder 2 drivers refused to pick me up!

I have noticed a decline in the character of driver assets over the last 4 years. While driving I have been accused of being racist until my closed circuit camera played the events out back to Lyft and magically after 2 weeks of paperwork and back and forth I get reactivated.
The quality of customers in my area consists of primary uber rejects that have not been properly screened or vetted.
The quality of support resources for both drivers and customers has shrank to an abysmal low. There is no help when necessary or appropriate. ADT takes over 40 minutes to contact whatever emergency resource required at the time. There is no more phone access for drivers when customers bend the rules to their whims or let alone some of the sketchy drivers. My rating as a driver has been 5.0 for the entire 6 years I've been driving, and 5.0 as a passenger.
They deactivated my driver account based on an inaccurate report by safety holdings llc vs paying $5 for a driving abstract (corporate rate) from New York State.
When I was driving for them some of the earnings disappeared and then became phantom and would come back at times. I did get the majority of money I was due. Based solely on the experience of myself and other drivers and customers I would not return as a driver or passenger. I think the pink mustache is turning gray.
