Very bad time at BELLEVILLE, ILINOIS, CARLYLE AVE. This store refused to refund to the card it was purchased. With invoice box for product personal information, Just cost this store thousands in home improvement sales, I will never shop ANY lowes again. Ruined my thanksgiving SAD

Lowe's has become of my least favorite places. Bad customer service, bad management, and TERRIBLE over the phone assistance when dealing with a legitimate problem. Will be deactivating my account with them as soon as I pay off what I owe. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS SO CALLED "CORPORATION"
The product consisted of two garment hooks, that you'd hang in the bathroom or a closet. BOTH were defective, as could be seen by simply looking at them closely and seeing that the little screws to hold the hooks in place didn't screw in properly. The fact that both hooks had the same issue says something about Lowe's QA. But OK, these things happen.
Here's where it gets astoundingly bad. I look up my order online to see how to return it. It's not apparent so I call Lowe's. Even though I bought the product online, they INSIST that the only way to return their defective product is to go to one of their stores! Even though I bought them online! Lowe's said that's because the product was "special order." No, I bought the hooks off their web site, what appeared to be normal products with normal product numbers. Tried talking to a manager, no luck.
Hey, Lowe's: I bought these hooks online because your stores are not convenient for me. I'm having to return them not because I changed my mind but because THEY'RE DEFECTIVE.
I've been buying stuff online for 15+ years. Sometimes you have the OPTION of return products to the vendor's brick and mortar store, but the vendor insisting that's the only way to return something you bought online? Nope! Clearly Lowe's doesn't understand the basics of e-commerce or customer service. I won't be back!
Save yourself a headache and do not order from Lowes. I placed an order for a dishwasher on 4/2 and promptly received an email that it would be delivered on 5/6. On 5/5 (the day before delivery) Lowes calls at 5:30 PM and says they have no idea where my order is or when it will be fulfilled. I wasn't happy since I had arranged time off of work and had already left for the day. I do understand delays happen, but why could they not have contacted me earlier? This morning I receive an email saying my order had been changed and it would deliver on 5/30, basically another month. I was displeased enough to cancel my order and curious enough to see what would happen if I prompted a new order on the Lowe's website. The delivery date on a new order came up as 5/20/20. No, I did not actually place it.
This situation is apparently common with Lowes. Many of these one-star reviews echo a similar experience. I would not have minded a delay, with proper communication. However, being put in the back of the delivery line without even an apology for their screw-up shows how little Lowes values it's customer base. I was just lucky to learn this lesson on a non-essential item like a dishwasher.
P.S. My dishwasher will be arriving next week through Home Depot.
We don't live very far from a Lowe's, so usually, I just use the website to get prices before I have to go hunt the items down in their massive store.
Generally, I find Lowe's to be a bit overpriced compared to competitors on certain items. This is especially true for home needs items like faucets and light fixtures.
Occasionally though, they will have a better deal on an item we need. But I dread going through their website sometimes! Even though I am signed up, I still have to fill out zip code information every time I want to see an individual price. If I am comparing several items, that can be a big headache after awhile.
What I do love about Lowe's is how fast they respond to an order for say, a large appliance, and how friendly the delivery people are. It may be a local thing, but I like how they chat around about home remodeling and DIY while they are installing the appliances. It make sit seem like they enjoy their job and at least know a little bit about what they are doing!
I think the Lowe's website could use some improvement, but you can't beat them for being a one-stop place to get ideas for your home repair needs. Even if you don't buy from them.
I ordered online a patio furniture set. It was delivered in just 5 days and is beautiful. Customer Service was excellent in helping me pick it out. Thank you!

That's what we faced. The new appliances are made so they fail after a year so you have to buy new appliances oftener. Yes making the manufacture pockets fat! They also in turn have made parts very hard to get hoping you don't wait the time out and buy another one mean while. Yes scammers! If you buy from them your just helping that cycle go on!
Buy commercial! Do not buy Lowe's or Home Depot appliances period!
We waited almost 6 weeks till the parts were available to repair our refrigerator. More than $1200 later we had a fridge that did the same thing again! Freeze up and not cool right. Thankfully Lowe's did give me a loaner after begging them enough. ( that was through my good in store contacts! Not Lowe's appliance protection. They would not budge on giving me a loaner.!)
Our refrigerator has been repaired 5 times now and still not working properly or replaced. At the end we still don't have a good refrigerator. What else can I say
I ordered trex decking with all the related decking materials. I was informed it would be delivered 12/17/18. On 12/17, I called to inquire as to the delivery time as I did not receive a phone call. Two of my calls were picked up and I could hear the store background noise but no one spoke into the phone. The next three calls were attempts to speak with a manager. All three times I was hung up on or call dropped during the transfer. I called the corporate help number and they listened and were able to tell me my delivery was on 12/20. I informed the person, I physically was in the store on 12/13/18 and they confirmed 12/17 as the delivery date. I also asked why no one called me to inform me of the change. I was told that maybe it can be tomorrow. I was also told a regional manager would call me. That has not happened either. My advice is if you cannot take it with you, order from a locally owned lumber company. Should anything change I will amend my review. For now Columbus Morse crossing lowes customer service is pathetic.
We waited 5 weeks for a dryer to be ordered and delivered. I had to chase the salesman to have him look to see if the dryer was in the stire. It had been in for 2 days before I contacted him. A delivery day was set and on the date I got a call 90 minutes before they were supposed to installing the dryer that thye could not "find" the dryer in inventory. The assistant Store Manager keeop referring to it as an "inventory problem" I am pretty sure it is a Lowes problem. The refund they issed for the washer and dryer will take 7-10 days to hit my account even though the original payment was talen the same day. If you read this I hope you tell 10 friends and they tell 10 friends. I have found a new source for these appliances.
I bought a John Deere riding mower 2021 at Lowe's. I was told it had a 3 year warranty. The manual just says "standard" warranty which you cannot read until you purchase machine. Clerk sold me the protection plan by saying it would EXTEND the warranty another 3 years. Obviously it broke down. John Deere won't fix it because the warranty covered hours of usage NOT years. I only cut one summer--every two weeks. Lowe's protection plan does not START for another 2 years, so they won't fix it. The protection plan is absolutely worthless! They sold me the protection plan (over $300) by telling me a lie.
DON'T BUY FROM LOWE'S--DEFINATELY NOT THEIR PROTETION PLANS and DON'T BUY JOHN DEERE--they're not as good as they use to be!

Store manager was very dismissive very frustrating.
Bought a frig that was set to be delivered between 3-7pm at 6pm they called to tell me their truck broke down on the freeway and my order wasn't going to be delivered. Now the next no phone call to tell me when my order will be delivered so i had to call and find out that it's being delivered between 6-10pm, thats way to late for me and there's no way to change it
I had contacted Lowe's through chat to ask about the Valspar 1 coat guaranteed paint. I told them I had used the paint, but they still said to go to the store to return it. They never mentioned reaching out to the manufacturer, which in fact, would have been much easier for us since our Lowe's is 30 minutes away. When we got to the store, we got a different story. They're telling us we can't return it, and to contact the manufacturer. The customer shouldn't have to deal with the fact that the Lowe's employees are not on the same page about policies. That's the frustrating part. The fact that we explained that we had driven so far and even had screenshots of the customer service chat telling us to return the paint, should have prompted the manager to see what they could do. Instead, nothing was done. Lowe's is the only hardware store in the town that we live. There is a Home Depot 45 minutes away in another town. I can guarantee you that we will make this drive versus spending anything more at Lowe's. We did a house flip last year and we were in Home Depot at least 3-4 times a week. Over the entire year, we never had one instance of bad customer service that would prompt us to spend time to write a one star review. This is just bad customer service.

Ridiculous warranty - don't fall for it
We purchased a nice SS refrigerator from Lowes Oct. 2020 and purchased the 5 year extended warranty. Late Sept. 2021 the compressor went out. Lowe's Claims - and I really wished I knew which warranty company is actually behind these warranties claims we poured water over the outlet that the fridge is plugged into and that is why it's broken. And they deny the claim. I have a video with the sound that the fridge makes but cannot attach it here because they won't accept the file.
Store cannot do anything about this. I escalated with claims and they deny. Now I am being told that we water damaged the compressor. I don't like their attitude when they talk to you. They won't even send another appliance company to verify that the first one was accurate. They are no help at all. Waste of money and time. Actually ALL warranties that are related to home warranties are just that - A WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. Tried to attach the proof of purchase, but it won't accept PDFs.
When we tried to return a fan that was a display and we were told that we could bring it back and they could look it up by using are credit card and when you get to the store and the store manager Nicole Pakiz of the Bismarck store didn't know How to look it up or find it and was really rued to us she didn't know how to treat a customer with respect or how to talk to a customer that is upset she was more worried about herself and said some pretty mean things to me and thought she knew what she was taking about Until this other lady that was working next to her and showed her what we where talking about. And how to look it up on the card so needless to say we will never shop at Lowes again.
