Communists?
August 13, 2024

Hmmm let's see - where do I start.
Today I went in to return some swamp cooler parts that have accumulated because of end of summer season. I purchase these common items in small quantity to have on hand mid June.
Parts unwrapped and I, myself were subjected to extreme doubt as if I had stole them-by store personnel and their recently implemented return regulations.
No, I didn't have the receipt but have regularly purchased items like this to have on hand nobody else in the valley carry this brand. Or have these particular bar codes on items.
My job as a handyman requires me to make quick repairs and to have adequate parts on hand without running to the store.
The fact that they know these come from this store and they can see that I'm a regular customer in their data base makes me think they don't want people to buy their items to have "on hand" I received Store credit only because none of my cards showed I purchased those items in the last 30 days and I'm flabbergasted that this requires entry of your state issued i.d. to litigate theft as though you had walked in and stole the items first prior to your visit.
Also beside a dozen or so cameras and "now recording" prompts in all of the self check out stands that are extremely invasive it seems to me that this establishment seems more interested in theft deterrents and getting your personal information for their system than actually supplying materials for the average shopper.
Another issue. On leaving, even though somewhat angry, I decided to look at tools to buy and use my recently acquired "store credit" after almost checking out and having manager enter my state issued id'd again (theft deterrent) I asked about return issues and being treated like a somewhat of a potential criminal namely because I did not have a receipt and store manager explained they you have to be a perks reward customer or loyalty something or other. (Purchase receipts saved for 3years). Why would anyone want to be a part of that system?
I find it hard to believe that this store isthat more comfortable for other shoppers and those reading this I would recomend a different home improvement box store -( think HD and orange colors)
This is not how you treat customers- like potential thieves, sctrutinizing prior putchases, video recording their every move and entering identification into databases that are susceptible to breaches.

Merchandise stolen
June 9, 2024

I have been rebuilding my front porch on my home due to rotting wood. Lowes #1925 has been by go to store in Cornelia Ga which is almost 14 miles away. Many times I have gone to the store purchasing items sometimes duplicates, sometimes needing more, items not needed, too many etc. My Lowes card has been the primary source of purchasing items but sometimes I have forgotten my wallet so I paid in cash.

Today June 9th 2024 I am almost finished in rebuilding my porch and I needed a few things to paint the floor with non-skid paint. I'm 70 years old and afraid of falling on wet or icy surfaces. The reason I want non-skid paint. I gather some items that I knew I wouldn't need to complete my project. Several Items were returned with no issues. I have other items to return but am afraid they will be stolen as well by Lowes #1925. 2 items a sanding sponge and Mini wax wood hardener were issues. I had bought 3 cans of the wood hardener at various times. The csr told me he couldn't find them to return with a receipt. Informed the clerk I had some receipts in my vehicle and receipts at home. Most often I used my Lowes advantage card but at times I paid cash due to leaving my wallet at home. No need to drive 28 miles round trip when I had cash in my pocket. I took both items back out to my vehicle and started looking for receipts. I remember the 2 items were purchased at the same time but I found a receipt showing the mini wax wood hardener. The sanding sponge was not on this receipt even though I clearly remember purchasing the wood hardener, sanding sponge and a few other things at the same time. He never said he needed the exact receipt only a receipt.

I took the wood hardener with the receipt I found back to the return desk. Even with the receipt he couldn't find them. Lowes camera caught me twice entering the store with the wood hardener $19.98. The store manager acknowledged that the cameras recorded me twice entering the store with the wood hardener but the receipt I found in my vehicle showed returned. Obviously it was not the right receipt. The store manager refused to hand me the wood hardener backing away when I reached for it. Stating the receipt I had provided showed returned. OBVIOUSLY THE WRONG RECEIPT. Refused to give me my wood hardener, store credit for items I intended to purchase to paint my porch floor.

It is an undeniable fact I walked into the store twice with the $19.98 wood hardener. Why did she refused to let me leave with an item that cameras show I entered the store twice? Why did she not tell me to return with another receipt? She never asked me if I had any other receipts. If she had I would have told her I in fact had other receipts at home. It was my intention to take the wood hardener back home and look for another receipt as well as make my purchases for the day. Perhaps it was the way I was dressed. I had been working on my porch and my clothing showed I had been working. I'm not some derelict. I am in fact a 70 year old honorably discharged Vietnam Era Veteran, never been arrested and in my life I have received 2 tickets. One when I was 19 years old for speeding and one for being on my cell phone. Georgia laws regarding cell phone is different than Texas where I lived for 25 years which allow you to be on your phone if you are stopped. I'm not going to get dressed up to go to Lowes and come back home change clothes to continue working. Needless to say I was furious and the cameras will show I was furious. She stole from me and smiled about it.

Let me tell you what this has cost Lowes. The wood hardener was stolen from me by the female who claimed to be the store manager and it is my intention to let everyone know what occurred. Tile has been ordered to tile my kitchen floor. Plumbing has already been installed to switch from an electric stove to propane stove. I'm merely waiting for a phone call the tile is in. It could be next week or a couple of months from now. The tile is from Italy. I need a large quantity of the tile so I'm not going to run to different stores piece meal the tile. I want the same run number for color uniformity. These are the following items I intended to purchase from Lowes #1925.

Backer board waterproof 35 pieces 24.98 =874.30
Backer screws 3@ 34.98=104.94
Backer tape 5@ 7.88 =39.40

BUYER BEWARE
April 25, 2024

BUYER BEWARE. I purchased a bath vanity from lowes for $800.00, I waited two weeks for it to be delivered. When they delivered the item on Friday April 19th i opened the box and noticed the top had a crack down the side. I immediately called lowes and asked if they could send guys back to pick it up. She said it was too late and that should would open a case and they would call me within 24hrs. I waited till Sunday April 21st and received no call. I called and was told sorry our computers were down but i will push the case forward to the store and they will call u within 24hrs. Mon,Tues go by and i call on wed the 24th. And was told sorry case was not sent. They then sent the case again to the store. The store calls 3 hrs later to review case and requests that i send pictures of the damage which i did immediately. I was told they would review the options and contact me when they have an answer. (almost 3 weeks without a sink). I waited all day today for call but heard nothing so i sent them an email to send someone to pickup the entire package. I was willing to just have the top replaced. 2 HRS later they call saying they got my email and want to know if they would accept their options. I said I would take another allen & roth top which they had in stock because it has been so long. She went away for 20 minutes and came back and reading off the computer screen responded " We are sorry for your experience and want to compensate you by offering you $50.00 credit and you can keep the broken top" My response "Are you smoking something, how does $50.00 get me a new top? Her response" i understand so we are willing to offer you a $60.00 credit, this continued until she reached $80.00(the cheapest top is 249.00) They essentially wanted me to accept their offer which would result with me having to come out my pocket for more money to replace the top. I declined and they are sending someone back to pickup the POS vanity and cracked top. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY A THING FROM THIS STORE. AFTER 3 WEEKS OF WAITING DUE TO THIER INCOMPETANCE, THIER OFFER TO CLEAR IT UP WAS TO HAVE ME AN ADDTIONAL $250.00. What a complete joke this was. I have never experienced anything like this. I spend thousands purchasing building material yearly nut never again from LOWES

Lowes is so DISAPPOINTING!
February 29, 2024

Normally I wouldn't be so quick to reach out to anyone this way as I know how busy people must be. However, despite what I have dealt with in the last few weeks I felt the need to let people know what I went through

On November 27th 2022 My fiancé purchased me a Samsung washer and dryer set for Christmas that was delivered on December 17th 2022. Along with that she also purchased the stands that both washer and dryer can sit on along with an extended warranty.

On December 23rd 2023 the Samsung dryer stopped drying the cloths. We put a call into Lowe's warranty dept on December 28th 2023 and made a claim. The representative put a claim in and said we would get a return call in 48 hours… that never happened, no return call at all. We called again on January 2nd to follow up on the claim just to be told it was still pending.

We decided to get an outside technician (Northern Appliance Service) to at least tell us what was going on with it, in his findings he found that the reason the dryer stopped working was because it was installed improperly. The wires that go from the dryer to the wall were all loose and it caused the wires including the main wire that runs directly to the motor to burn out. He advised to NOT try and run the dryer again as it has become a fire hazard at this point. When he finished, he sent the pictures to my phone in case Lowe's needed to see them. At this point we still haven't heard anything back from Lowe's regarding the claim.

On January 8th 2024 I decided to walk into the Lowe's located at 301 Market Place Blvd, Cartersville Ga ******* to speak to someone in appliances. At this time, I was speaking to Karen (the appliance manager) she made a claim to Spirit Logistics, the people that delivered the appliances. She told me that they would reach out to me in 48 hours, that never happened. I in returned called Lowe's back on 1/11/2024 to speak with Karen and ended up speaking with Angie at 8:15 am who stated she will call Spirit Logistics and call me back with a status update, that never happened. I called Lowe's back the same day and spoke with David at 11:12 am who tried to figure out what's was going on and he would return my call, that never happened.

I called Lowe's warranty department customer service on 1/12/2024 and the representative set up an appointment for a technician to come out on Monday 1/15/2024 between 8:00 am and 12:00 pm making me stay home from work for that time frame. On Monday 1/15/2024 I called Lowe's warranty department just to ensure a technician would in fact be here at my house like scheduled and she confirmed YES that Norman Electronics Repair will be here in that time frame. While I am home waiting, I get a call from Lowe's telling me that they will be picking up a product from my home between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm ( I have no clue what they are referring to). I called Lowe's back as I am in aw as to why they would be picking something up from my house and I have no clue as to what they are speaking of. The representative proceeds to tell me that it was a mistake to disregard the call as they don't know what they are picking up(these people still showed up at my door at 4:00 pm to pick up something as they had no idea what they was picking up). It's now 12:49 pm and no one has showed up or called me for the service. I then call Norman Electronics Repair and they informed me that I was NOT on their schedule. I'm so frustrated at this point. I call Lowe's warranty department back and explain that I wasn't on the schedule to be serviced today, I then asked to speak to a manager, and they put Josh on the phone who stated he was in fact the manager and that he would put the claim in for another technician to come out.

Just to give you some insight on the delivery company that Lowe's chose to use and who is the reason for all of this, this company is rated one of the lowest in delivery companies for installation. If you look on the BBB all the complaints is for installation and delivery. If Lowe's value their customers, then why would you keep sending this delivery company to your customers homes knowing that it will most likely end just like my situation?! Normally this would be Spirit Logistics issues but when Lowe's continuing to use such a company it now reflects on Lowe's.

This is where I am at right now, frustrated, inconvenienced, disturbed, and feeling like Lowe's don't care that I have a family that I need to care for and a job that I need to work. The only reason why I have this much information and the only reason why I am in the process that I am in right now is because of MY thoroughness NOT Lowes and NOT Spirit. What was the point of even buying the extended warranty when I must go to these measures to even get someone, anyone to respond to me.

In the end they end up buying my warranty out in which they could have done in the very beginning...uuggghhh

Tip for consumers:

Lowes is pathetic and so is Spirit Logistics ( Lowes use them for in home service)

Failure to serve/help

Lowes has purchased Rona in Canada, since there isn't a specific Rona review, and since they are now owned by Lowes, I feel this is a legit place to leave my review.

Now I am not 100% innocent in this, but let me explain.

A number of months ago, I purchase a single scaffold jack at the Rona store on Sargent street in Winnipeg. I happened to be very close to this store when my cell rang and my staff advised me that a leg was missing for the scaffold. They were on the job site, clock is ticking and time is money, so I ripped into Rona. I purchased the leg for $72.19 plus taxes ($81.57 total) and headed out to the job site, to deliver the scaffold jack. When I got there, it was whoopsy, we found the fourth leg after all. Stuff happens. So I threw the new leg back in my truck, where it bounced around for a couple of days, since I was planning to return it. Well days turned into weeks, it went from the floor in the front to the back and out of sight out of mind. However it was brand new, perfect condition, certainly resalable. Then who knows what, changed wallets, cleaned out wallet, etc. Lost the bill.

This afternoon, I went over to the Rona to return the leg. I have to note that it was around 4:00 pm, the whole Polo Park area is hopping, It's a couple days before Christmas and people are everywhere. Everywhere except Rona. There were less than a dozen cars in the lot. When I got inside the place was empty. Cars in lot were probably all staff.

Spoke to the young lady at the customer service desk, told her the whole sordid tale. She said "no receipt, no return." I said fine, I understand, can you give me a store credit? Then I asked if someone else in the store would give me a different answer. Nope on that too. Rona does not have the system to search purchases by credit card. So I left.

Home Depot is about two minutes down the street, they sell the identical item, so I went there. There parking lot had 60+ cars in the lot, customers and carts rolling in and out.

I went to the customer service desk, waited a few moments and then told the young lady "I bought this a while ago and don't have a bill, may I return it?" She scanned the item and then said tap your credit card. I tapped my credit card and of course it didn't find the item purchased. So I said, I have another credit card, she said OK, scan that one. Of course it didn't work either, since I hadn't even bought the item there. She apologized (Rona never did) and said that at this point all she can do is give me a gift card. I said that would be fine and we went from there. Several minutes later, I left the store with a $79.27 gift card.

So to summarize. I bought something at Rona that I did not need. I lost the bill (completely my fault) and when I tried to return the item they blew me off. Went down the street to Home Depot (where I did not buy the item) and ended up with at $79 store credit/gift card. Home Depot is hopping busy, Rona is dead, wonder why? I don't and I will not be back to Rona either.

You can be certain that

VERY POOR SERVICE AND MANAGEMENT AT THIS LOCATION - HIGLEY AND 60, MESA, AZ
December 10, 2023

VERY POOR SERVICE AND MANAGEMENT AT THIS LOCATION - Amazon is far better in service than Lowe's as the recent customer poll indicates. This location will have you stand in line to return an item and then while you are standing there in front of the employee answer the phone as I experienced today. I waited in line for my turn to make a return and then when the employee (manager) started to help me and make eateries in to the register, she answer the phone and began helping that person leaving me standing and waiting there. As she continued to help the person on the phone I said to put that person on hold and finish helping me - either she didn't hear me or didn't care as she continued to finish with that person. As she was talking on the phone with that person, I asked another employee to help me as she was on the phone with someone else. That person was quick with my return and when credited I gave them my feed back that it was disrespectful and rude to me as I was standing there in front of her and she answer the phone to help someone else. I also said that Lowes should stop selling the filters I just returned as they are very poorly made. However, the disrespect and rude employees may find themselves out of a job in the future if they don't change how they treat customers like me. I am a Pro customer of Lowe's as well so it really doesn't matter to them. It's as if we need to put up with their disrespect and rudeness to do business with them. Lowell, one of the store managers did like it either when I was voicing my opinion of the disrespect and just gave excuses as to why they need to answer the phone when another customer is standing in front of them. He wasn't happy with me either when I asked for the Corportate office phone number to complain. It seems like when a customer is justified in standing up for not being disrespected or treated with rudeness those type of people what to project the blame on the one they are disrespectful too. We cannot let people treat his this way nor business even though it seems like it is everywhere. Because of this disrespect towards me today more of my money will be going to Amazon. I cannot recommend this Lowe's to anyone until they change the management and some of the employees at this store. I hope more will continue to stand up against the disrespect and rude treatment we are getting from some of these businesses.

Stay away from Lowe's credit card!
October 20, 2023

I wish that these reviews allow you to give zero Stars because that is exactly what they deserve! Lowe's credit card service is not actually Lowe's, it is actually a bank called Synchrony. Lowe's does not have a billing department nor customer service. And I State customer service in reference to what it's supposed to be! The woman that answered the customer service phone told me she didn't have access to my account so she could not tell me my current balance. I received a letter that was sent to my billing address and not my current address. In that letter it stated that they were sending it to the "updated address". So they took my old address and disregarded my new address for correspondence. When I asked the woman at customer service to tell me my current balance because that letter reached me a month after the date on the letter, the representative told me she did not have access to my account! Customer service does not have access to your account! WTF is that all about? I found out! Lowe's customer service can only help you place an order, track an order or file a complaint! I was in the it field for 36 years and I know customer service! Lowe's customer service is Lowe's sales department part 2! Because all they can do is show you something. I had to go to Google to find out their phone number because the bill that they sent me in the mail only has the phone number to sell me credit help! How many levels of stupidity have I just showed? By the way, my balance was Zero. When I ask to speak to a manager, the lows incompetent customer service rep transfers me to the synchrony billing department. So Lowe's does not have a billing department because they do not bill you, Synchrony Bank bills you! So when I told the representative that the recording told me that the billing department is closed, she told me she wasn't aware of that. And then she transferred me to the synchrony billing department instead of telling me that billing is done by synchrony and giving me that phone number. Incompetency that could be put into a concentrated container which will require water to dilute the level of incompetency! I closed my Lowe's credit card account! I do not deal with companies that have incompetency! Lowe's will raise your blood pressure so be careful what you choose because you have to deal with this type of nonsense when you have a question about your account! Close your loads account because they're charging you 28.9% interest! When I was young, this was called loan sharking and the mafia was the only one in that business. Now, the banking system of the United States of America has found a way to make this legal! So, does this mean that the Mafia took the dirty money and opened up Banks and then went and bribed our politicians, which we call " lobbyist"! Let's be honestly clear, lobbyist s are legal bribers! That is all day are. They bribe politicians to get what they need for their donors! Get rid of any credit cards you have that are charging you anything above 19%. Everything else is loan sharking!

Tip for consumers:

I'm tired of being screwed! If you're also tired of being screwed, fight back! Make your experiences public so that others will stop buying at Lowe's. Maybe then they will take their customers seriously! It's no wonder that they're going out of business and it's their own fault!

Scary
October 14, 2023

I was attacked by their employee Melissa, I'd pulled up at loading to count the rest of their sod to tell the cashier to purchase, Melissa walked over to me screaming at me to move I said I will, she was screaming at me to hurry up as I was pulling away then she punched my passenger side window. I did a corporate complaint as well as speaking to the manager on duty and his only concern was explaining the situation with the loading area? I went into the store another day and she saw me, she was with another employee pointing at me and who knows what she was saying to them but it was very inappropriate.

Today 10-14-23 at 3:47 I was in the paint section and she was working in this area, I went to the counter to have paint mixed, she very rudely said to me and without looking at me "I have to find someone to help you, I can't help you", I just stood there in disbelief. She got on her phone with her back to me and then said to me "don't know how long it's going to be, I'm not aloud to help you", then left me standing at the counter alone? Not aloud to help me but but she's the aggressor?

Another customer walked up and and pushed the help button and no one came. I told her what just happened and I would go to customer service and get a manager. I told Dave at customer service what happened and went back to the paint department, Jason was there then and very kind, I wasn't aware he was a manager? He had a few issues with figuring out how to mix paint but figured it out, I hope. So Melissa ended up coming back while Jason was there, very uncomfortable for me but I ignored her. She was being sarcastic and rude to other people.

I had no problem from the beginning because I don't hold grudges but obviously Melissa does even though she was the one in the wrong, I could have called the police and should have. I don't believe she was properly handled in this situation. I spoke to Jason about this as this is my Lowe's and I shouldn't have to feel uncomfortable shopping there, he didn't have a good answer for me? It's as if they are siding with her. I actually deserved an apology. Lowe's says they want their customers to have a good shopping experience but it's absolutely not true!

I'm beside myself as I did nothing wrong but it's okay for their employees to treat me a customer of over 35 years like garbage! Lowe's has gone down hill and their reviews prove it.

Teribble experience
September 21, 2023

Hi,

1) Delivery guy and dented fridge
We placed this order online on 3rd August 2023. This fridge was originally scheduled to be delivered on 19th August 2023 (Saturday) at Address A. When we placed the order we were living at Address B. One day prior to delivery, the delivery driver told us that he will be delivering between 10-2 pm (19th august 2023). For your reference, Address B is approximately 1 hr away from Address A. We left the house and we planned to be at the delivery address around 10. While we were driving to address A and we received a call from the driver and he mentioned that he reached early and he was not willing to wait till 10 oclock (time that he, himself originally provided). We decided that we will reach out to Lowes and inform them about the delivery guy's response. After asking delivery guy Lowe's location from where he was delivering, he decided that he will wait till we arrive. We reached the delivery address around 10:05 and the driver opened the packaging and noticed a huge dent on the front door because the dent fridge was not installed that day.

2) No communication / follow up by Lowes
Our plan was to move in on 21st and the whole point of ordering a fridge and having it installed in advance was to save fridge and freezer groceries and stuff. We reached out to lowes continuously on 19th and 20th to get some information about the order but we did not get any help. One customer agent told us that he will call us for our credit card details, I am guessing to place new order but he never called us back. We kept waiting and we received no call or email or any information or help from Lowes and we had to throw all our fridge and freezer items because of not having a fridge in our new home. The items that we threw away were worth of 500$ due to the fact that I make homemade natural shampoo and oil for these, I get my organic products from India and store them in the freezer. Also as I mentioned earlier we lived in rohnert park and we used to get our vergatibes in bluk from Indian grocery stores from fremont. We had to throw everything away because of this delivery issue. We had stored it in our neighbor's fridge had we received any information about the new delivery date. We never received any update from Lowes on 19th,20th and 21th and on 21th we discarded everything prior to moving to a new home.
Additionally, all the agents that we connected meanwhile were saying that we don't have this fridge available in any of our locations. We only have a display model available for the fridge that you are looking for.

3) New order placed on 24th
We were finally able to get a hold of a really good customer care agent who helped us place an order. When we placed the order we were in East coast so we informed the customer care agent to deliver it on 28th August 2023.

4) A very ridiculous response in regards to our complaint
After attempting so many times, finally my husband filed a complaint on 23rd to let lowes know about our experience. The response that we received was sorry about the inconvenience we are providing you with a $25 dollar voucher. For approx 2500$ worth of appliances and all the frustration and our loss that we had to bear we did not receive any genuine help nor any discount and all we were offered was a $25 dollar voucher. And even after everything we never recived this voucher.

5) Two orders placed by Lowes
During our endless calls, we were informed to reach out to local lowes for complaint. I called the customer care agent again on 26th August to file a complaint. I reached out to Lowe's location: 1951 Auto Center Dr, Antioch, CA ******* via 925-756- 0370. The customer service agent pointed out that the system was showing two fridges associated with our phone number. We were not aware about this and no one from lowes informed us about this. He provided this PO # *******. We were just trying to file a complaint and found out another issue. He informed us that these orders are associated with another Lowes' location in the same area: 5503 Lone Tree Wy, Antioch, CA *******. He further suggested reaching out to this location for customer complaints and regarding the PO number that he provided.

After all this frustration, we got a fridge as of today (08/28/2023 around 9:00). We still don't know anything about the PO number that we mentioned above, and there is no genuine way to file a complaint and no decent response from Lowes.

6) We are still waiting for our warranty money back associated with our cancelled order.
We have spent endless hours with Lowes' customor care team and all response we got it, we can initiate complaint but we dont gurantee follow up.

SELF CHECKOUT IS A JOKE
September 7, 2023

I WOULD ONLY SHOP AT LOWE'S BECAUSE HOME DEPOT PUT SELF CHECKOUTS IN AND NOW I SHOP AT ACE HADWARE AND Mc COY'S.
