SO much better than our local school uniform store that carries only the brands made out of scratchy itchy uncomfortable fabrics. A few mother got together & had our school's adminstration register our school because their uniforms are so much better. Higher quality, better fabrics with all cotton options. What a relief.
For the past 50 years or so I've worn LL Bean shirts and pants. I appreciated that I could get sizing to fit me, and having an unquestioned warrantee sealed the deal. Then LL started making everything in Cheapo, and they had to change their returns policies. Recently, three of my barely-used LL Bean shirts failed, the fabric ripping into holes. And the new return policies made getting a refund or replacement a pain in the posterior. I simply decided that LL Bean was no longer trustworthy.
I have purchased from LL Bean for years. One of the phone orders I made, I was talked into opening a credit card. I subsequently shopped at LL Bean either directly or online, frequently forgetting about the card. I went to make a purchase for my daughter and when I went to use the card, I noticed it was expired. When I called I was informed my account was closed due to inactivity. I explained that was really unfortunate and can have a negative effect on ones credit. Their response was "sorry you feel that way" My credit is exceptional, and I guess inadvertently they have done me a favor, as I needed to open another credit card for a trip overseas. I've had other cards for years and have gone long periods of time without using them. I like to pay with a debit when I can. This has never been a problem elsewhere. I will no longer purchase goods from LL bean, and either will the rest of my family
The Management of the Charlottesville store has its sales clerks making enforcement of mask rules their FIRST priority. I get it - wearing a mask out in public is the right thing to do. But to be approached by a sales clerk and be told to put my mask higher on my face instead of first asking if I need assistance, shows a lack of respect and appreciation for my business. This experience took place in the middle of the afternoon on a weekday when the store was nearly empty of shoppers. Management needs to teach its staff how to handle this situation in a customer-friendly manner.
I purchased a pair of women's slippers. I had to replace my previous pair as they were falling apart after 5 years! Yes, 5 years old. The new slippers wore out fast and before 8 months had passed, there was a hole in the toe top and the shearing inside had all but diminished. Very disappointed with them. I
I have torn a number of shirts, pants, and so on. I have not ordered through their site recently, so I can't really give a 100% review of things there. But I can say that all my past orders were exactly what I expected, and the clothing wore well, lasted a long time, and was worth what it cost.
Now I know why they are over-priced, they need your money to donate to Donald Trump* (* our illegitimate president). Not a fan of the company or the products. Target does a better job at a lower price.
I have purchased hundreds of dollars worth of items from LL Bean and will no longer support this company. They have defrauded their customers by retroactively changing their return policy and lowered product quality.
I returned a pair of boots to them because they do not fit, and have been waiting for my refund of $154. I called customer service and told that it takes 4-5 weeks to process a refund? I think that is a little long to hold onto someone's $$$$ and maybe needs a review by the attorney Gen or maybe the help of Channel 7 consumer help line.
They promise a 10% discount code for new account sign-ups. I signed up as a first time customer and the code never arrived. I checked spam, I confirmed it was a new account, I waited hours as they claim it takes a while for it to arrive. When I reached out to customer service they were rude and said they don't have promo codes available to give out. Only said this after I had created an account.
Don't sign-up expecting the 10% discount promo code. It is false advertising.
From Grandchildren, Children, Parents and Grandparents, we have loved LL Bean products for years. They offer true quality items at very reasonable prices, often with free shipping. We live in the Midwest with weather extremes, and find their outerwear very practical. About 5 years ago, I purchased around a dozen cotton turtleneck long sleeved tops to wear under sweaters and jackets in Winter. I liked them so much I also purchased some of their lighter weight summer tops. They have held up extremely well through repeated washings; everything is still going strong. I can definitely recommend this retailer; try them out!
I don't like this store because they backed the stupid president elect "tronald dump". Also you can get better quality clothing that doesn't look like something out of your grandma's closet for a decent price at Target than this old people's shop.
It took ONE MONTH to fill my order incorrectly. The items were even in stock but their new ordering system wouldn't release them. Better still, there is no back up system to take care of customers. How does that happen? Worst service I ever experienced online. Just put it in a bag and send it!
There are 2 main reasons why I will not use LL Bean anymore unless they have something I cannot find anywhere else. First: I am now forced to use the Canadian site and this means a big change in communication during the prep and shipping. Last couple of times there were 3 days between ordering and getting confirmation that my order was being prepared. No way to check online where it was at. Online status indicated that one of my items was now out of stock. Had to contact LL Bean to know what was going on. Then - no estimated arrival time until a couple of days before delivery. Poor process for online retail. Second: some favorites from previous years (T Shirts) now done very cheaply. Organic cotton T Shirt this year nothing like what I got in the past. Other cotton favorite now mixed up with modal and spandex. Not a good experience overall on my 2019 purchases.
Been to headquarter store in Maine. Great experience. Everyone should visit.
On line shopping here is like shopping at retail high list. Just go to Gander Mountain or Cabala's.
Wish to pay over $250 for a pair of boots? LL Bean.
Last night my boyfriend and I went to return his all bean boots we purchased a little over a year ago, because they were uncomfortable and cold while hunting. ( Mind you we purchased them in Freeport Maine) we were treated like we were liars and they could not find any purchase history on either of us. ( Wth) first thing is we didn't want money back just an exchange for something warmer and more comfortable, but was told we had to get the same boot or we could have a refund of $23.00 Seriously!
We have receipts for other items we bought but not the dang boots ( still no history found) customer standing beside us was able to get a refund without a receipt. Hmmm
I guess if you live out of state you are treated with respect.
I will not go shopping there again
Feeling a bit unworthy thank you LL Bean
In my initial five star review of this clothing supplier I waxed eloquently at their unlimited return guarantee. They have rescinded that policy as well as their free shipping always. Few of their clothing items are made in the United States so a $2.01 hundred percent cotton dress shirt made in Kazakhstan and sold for $39 in America can be found at numerous other retailers without the lifetime guarantee for half price. So after my hundred dollar gift card is used I'm afraid I'll never buy from this pseudo-American firm. Goodby old friend
I always bought LLBean! When the old man ran his business he cared ab it.He's now passed on&whomever took over wants the money but doesn't want to give us the quality. The foot wear is being made *******@the world now&is being cheaply made. Bought a pair of slippers wore them twice&the bottom fell out. Made in China! I was willing to pay more for their footwear bc it was good quality that lasted, no more! Ive tried 5times&Thats the last of them getting my money! Oh&no 1/2 sizes now! If I wanted junk footwear I can go to Walmart ty.
I used to love Bean. I always looked forward to the new catalog. IN the past several years, and reading from other folks comments I see I am not wrong, their quality has gone out the window. Add to this their China made products are cheap, and they have done away with big and tall sizes, guess we aren't wanted. I hate to say it but what was once a company we could all be proud of is so bad I kinda hope they go under.
I am a seasoned online shopper and rarely run into issues. On the rare occasion that I do the seller has made it right. Sadly, that was clearly not the case with an online purchase with LL Bean. When I ordered the item (a floor mat) there was no indication there would be a protracted delivery period. After almost a month of waiting and sending two follow up emails - the wrong item was delivered. Totally different mat, different size, dIfferent colour. Very frustrating. Not only do they have operational issues - they make no effort to take responsibility for their error. I would NOT recommend shopping at LLBean. They don't know how to operate an online business & more importantly they just don't care about negative client experiences.
Answer: Nope. But I have heard the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band's Gorilla album and it's my fav.
Answer: Fairly easy to get a CS rep via chat or phone but they aren't as conscientious as they once were and seem to use a lot of canned responses.
Answer: If you don't get results from one customer service representative, ask to speak to a supervisor. I emailed my question in and had a quick response and exceptional service. Had I not, I certainty would have gone up the chain of command.
