LL Bean does seem to cater to small women. If they do offer larger sizes, they are usually out and they dont' often come in the same color choices. Also, if you return something you paid for with Paypal they only offer store credit or a check that takes 7-10 days to get to you, which is dark ages stuff. I have only ever run into the with them. Stuck in the dark ages it seems all the way around.
I am so disappointed. Last November, I bought my husband the $80 slippers. They ripped in less than a year. We drove the hour and a half to the L. L. Bean store to exchange them and we were told rips and tears are not included in the warranty. Isn't that the point of a warranty? I could have bought cheap Walmart ones that would last just as long.
Just received a men's "slightly fitted" tee shirt in large. Quality made, well-constructed. Can't go wrong on a tee, right? Let me think... wrong. I have a broader than average chest and have always worn a large, but this item was gargantuan. I'm talking circus tent size. Could've fit two of me in there. As for "fitted," maybe for an elephant. The hem was as wide as the shoulders. But I like the fabric. Maybe, after a few washings, I can shrink this sucker down.
99% of merchandise is imported! So much for supporting American jobs! At one time LL Bean meant you were buying a quality product made with American labor and supplied with American materials!
I ordered a jacket for Falk and it was repeatedly delayed — time after time. Now the Xmas catalog looks nice but all 5 items I have tried to order over the past few weeks are not in stock and delivery can't be guaranteed for Xmas. They have lost a customer: me.
Ordering from LL Bean is painless because the merchandise is usually well-made, it arrives quickly, and the customer service is fantastic. I've ordered from them for years, and, when I lived on the East coast, shopped at their store many, many times. Every time I have spoken to customer service, I'm dealing with an American, and I appreciate that fact. A solid, old-fashioned, American-style store. Nice.
LLBean used to be a great company. Within the last few years their prices have gone up, they don't offer free shipping and they changed their great return policy that attracted many of their customers. Maybe that new CEO from Walmart is the problem but the company has done nothing but gone down hill. Even their customer service sucks. Plenty of other companies that are better and don't copy other brands' products!
Really disappointed with my purchase. I paid $150 Canadian for 1 fleece jacket because of their exorbitant shipping fees from the US. When it came the neckline was huge and the quality was poor so I went to return it. They didn't include a return shipping label so UPS said it would be $45 to return. I ended up paying $37 to send the product back so now I'm out $190 for there product. When I contacted customer service they said that I should have contacted them first and they would send a return label for a fee of $15. It's absolutely ridiculous that that is not included in the original shipment. I will never order from this company again and will warn everyone I know to do the same.
Very nice and amazing collections of bags, home goods and many more. Wide range of high quality clothing, footwear for both men and women available at very reasonable cost. Bought the classy shirts at discounted price. Looks so cool and trendy. Fast shipping service.
Have shopped here for several years. At Christmas we buy their wreaths and other live decorations, they remind my of the Northeast, I'm now living in the south. We also buy their clothes, shirts are excellent, weather jackets excellent. Delivery excellent, a good value
I receive a catalog a week from LL Bean. I'd rather not receive the catalog and keep the one policy that made LL Bean stand out with their no questions asked return policy. They claim people are buying LL Bean clothes at thrift stores and returning them. There is a customer record of purchases.
By offering free lifetime returns. I understood they stood behind their quality. Now, I see the return policy is related to dropping quality for profit. Join the rest of the stores I don't shop at.
This has got to be the best online shopping site in the universe. Same category as Zappos. Fast shipping; easy returns. Free returns if you have the credit card. I actually give Bean more business than Lands' End solely because of free returns; the site is easier to navigate; and their returns are processed much more quickly. Oh, and I like the stuff, too!
The seller shipped me two separate orders of women's pants. One of which were made fitted while the other one was made larger than before and came in a different quality of material. These were my repeated orders and I had to send them back, one after another. When I called the customer service, the first one slammed the phone down stating that I was shouting at her while the next one played hard of hearing as when you say something she says she doesn't have the items in her hands. After calling in to confirm their return for refunds, the customer service can even go the extra mile to tell me to go check with my bank!
I use the service direct message recently. But I already had time to evaluate it at the highest level. A large number of prompts allows you to configure the service without any problems. A lot of tips. The necessary messages are automatically generated along with the sending. Over a short period of time, the conversion increased by 36%. This is very cool really!
Do not do business with them, they are not reliable. Customer service is awful, they dont take any responsibility for their actions and mistakes and expect you to contact your bank to dispute a charge. Liars, and scammers.
There is no question about L. L. Bean's quality, service and guarantee however every L. L. Bean person I've talked to seem to have a smile in their voice and make you feel like they really appreciate your business!
I love L. L. Bean. They have free shipping and on-time delivery. Put that together with their high-quality products and you have a really fine store. I shop online now and feel confident about my orders because they have so many customer reviews that tell me about the sizing and any other details that I need to know about the product before I order. L. L. Bean's customer service can't be beat by anyone.
My autistic son received an official letter from LL Bean banning him from shopping there for life because he 'created a scene' when he tried to return hiking boots that he wore TWICE!
He wanted his money back because the waterproofing was defective and his feet got soaked AND a side seam was tearing out. They argued that he bought them 3 months ago and hiking boots should be replaced every 3-6 months. These boots showed no wear whatsoever on the treads and were very clean. He bought them in January when we were in Maine, but didn't wear them until May.
Yes, he lost his temper and swore at the manager before he stormed out.
LL Bean no longer stands behind its products. Despite the fact that I purchased A product from LL Bean prior to the return policy, they refused to replace an item that wore out long before it should have. Will never shop there again.
Please do not buy: wool, cashmere, suede, leather, down, etc. Please look at what it's made of, then look at how that material is obtained! The buzzwords of the day are 'impossible and beyond burgers', NOT - 'breed animals and then painfully murder or painfully force animals to give up their materials'. Thank you very much.
Answer: Nope. But I have heard the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band's Gorilla album and it's my fav.
Answer: Fairly easy to get a CS rep via chat or phone but they aren't as conscientious as they once were and seem to use a lot of canned responses.
Answer: If you don't get results from one customer service representative, ask to speak to a supervisor. I emailed my question in and had a quick response and exceptional service. Had I not, I certainty would have gone up the chain of command.
