Bought a deal for dent removal but it does not apply to dents larger than a CD and Living Socials neglected to mention that. Could be the company offering the deal neglected to tell Living Social, in which case LS should offer a refund. They say "sorry charlie" I'm out of luck. Last purchase I make from them.

Bought a living social deal for child's haircut, I went to this establishment and they butchered my sons hair, I then left fuming mad and had to take him to a chain haircutters where's they fixed it and came out the way I wanted. That beinf said an $8 deal turned into a $24 screw up. Living social would not refund my $ for the terrible experience my son and I had at an establishment they were more or less advertising. Complete bs and i am so done with this site. I'll stick to groupon where they will gladly refund your money if you, the customer, are not satisfied.

I've bought some good deals from them, not the best but good, I can't really complain about this site, maybe I was just lucky until now.

Livingsocial stole $99 from me! The one and only voucher I ever purchased from this company turned out to be unusable as I could never contact anyone to make an appointment to use it. Livingsocial first told me to keep trying to get in contact with them. Then after I still wasn't able to and my voucher expired, they told me not to worry because it was still worth face value. I didn't purchase it for facevalue not that it matters when I could not get in touch with anyone anyway! When I requested a refund Livingsocial told me it was not their policy to give refunds. Hello? Do not purchase anything from Livingsocial as they are unreliable, untrustworthy, and I doubt they will be around much longer!

I used to be such a fan of this company. After joining about 2 years ago, I would just buy, buy, buy it must have been a couple hundred of vouchers over the past two years. I loved it - I was getting such a good deal on each item and back then when the merchant went out of business or didn't honor the deal, LivingSocial customer service was wonderful about helping to resolve or refunding the voucher. However, over the last 6 months (was it a change of management?) they have gone from a nice company to the WORST place you can buy a voucher from. Their customer service stinks - they use not common sense, they belittle and undermine you. They don't care about if you get screwed by the merchants or not - or if they voucher was totally fraudulent or not. Their attitude now is ALWAYS - touch luck. You lost your money, pal! They refuse to help. They TRULY SUCK! I have had several vouchers over the past six months that I lost my money to them on due to the merchants not honoring them, misrepresenting what was offered, going out of business or just not having what was purchased by the voucher. Every instance LivingSocial basically said "screw you"! After being with them so long and being such a loyal customer, you must know how horrified I felt. I have canceled all my subscriptions and no longer buy vouchers from them. Groupon is my savior - they are a_lot_ better.

I purchased a voucher for $40 at Urban Healing, it expired so I was going to apply to $40 to one of their services but come to find out they are out of business! LivingSocial will not, credit or refund me since their refund is 7 days after purchase, but the voucher states that it will still be worth the $40 I spent! They said the $40 follows the merchent and since they are out of business I lose the $40. You know that the merchant doesn't get the money until it's redeemed so LivingSocial is the ones that get to keep my $40. I will NEVER purchase from them EVER again! I have been told that Groupon would honor the refund, FYI

Absolutely horrible customer service. They implement a no refund policy and don't honour even their own fine print. Adds are misleading and they use it as excuse to avoid refund altogether. Best advice: stay away!

Please note! Living Social has a zero return policy. If you have a problem with a item and need to return it they don't care. I will not buy any items from Living Social ever again.

Stay away from http://Livingsocial.com! Absolutely terrible customer service.
Livingsocial just says "sorry, not my issue!".

I purchased this deal: http://www.livingsocial.…
I bought TWO deals - my car and my husbands car - almost $300 I spent.

The cars were "detailed" yesterday, but the men did not clean the ceiling or rubber parts of the mats. My main issue is that the ceiling was not included - that's not considered a 'full detailing' when parts of your car are not included?
Why didn't livingsocial specifically write "ceiling & rubber sides of mats are not included"
Also, don't use the words/phrasing "every corner of your ride... full detailing"

I bought the deal specifically because it said "let experts clean every corner of your ride... and full detailing".

After emailing customer service, they responded saying "after the service has been provided, we can't give a refund".

I understand that someone can't get a refund once the service is provided, but that was the ENTIRE POINT of my issue and reason for sending a refund request - they did NOT supply the service.

They only did a partial detail, hence did not provide me the 'full detailing' service - the service was not provided.

I would have appreciated at the very least, a partial refund (because I still need to get my car detailed somewhere else now
This was a terrible scam from livingsocial because they had a misleading description giving me the impression my car was getting cleaned 100%.

Stay away from http://livingsocial.com because they do not take the time to ensure their dealers are reputable and when something goes wrong they take no responsibility for their mistake.

DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION>

I was looking up something for someone@ work and never once clicked anything that confirmed a payment. I contacted living social and explaned to them what happened. They said that usually they don't reverse charge after the 24 hour window but because I was having surgery they would reverse the charges as long as I provided proof of my surgery. I took the time to get the necessary documentation from my surgeon, scanned and emailed it to them only to find out that they would only give my "Deal Bucks." When they agreed to this there was never any mention of "Deal Bucks." I guess they thought I was lying and really wasn't having surgery but when I actually followed through with their rediculous instructions, they reneged.

WOW!
March 11, 2013

WOW! Wish I would have read these comments BEFORE I purchased a gift certificate from LivingSocial. Bought a 3-night stay at a resort for $300 and after it expired, tried to use the $300, but they have a 3-5 night minimum all the time - this was NOT noted on the gift certificate anywhere and now they won't give me a refund (Google Offers will)... will never purchase anything else from LivingSocial - I see I'm not alone.

Shame on this company and their shady vendors. I bought a voucher for a $39 eye exam that read "Pay $39 for an eye exam and $175 to spend toward prescription eyewear, including both frames and lenses for regular glasses or sunglasses (a $254 value)". I had been experiencing headaches and thought possibly my eye sight was a factor. I don't currently wear glasses, and don't have insurance that covers optical so a $39 exam was well worth exploring my options. I followed the instructions and made the appointment to have my eyes checked. The doctor advised I might be suffering from increased stress due to my upcoming wedding but that I had 20/20 vision and didn't need glasses. When I went to leave, the front staff advised that I owed $40 additional. When I asked why, they advised that the $175 "to spend towards eye wear" must be redeemed or I would be charged in full for the exam. I asked them to point out on the voucher where that was mentioned and of course they couldn't. They advised it was listed in the details when I bought the voucher but it wasn't there either. They charged my card an additional $40, which meant that I had paid a full exam fee of $79. I shared this with living social who actually pretended to be concerned and advised they had several similar complaints on this particular vendor and gave me a reference number as it was investigated. Of course no one ever followed up and when I called again the gentleman on the phone said I needed to speak to the exact person I spoke to when I originally filed the complaint, as she was the only one that could help me and she was busy at the moment, but would be sure to follow up on email. When they finally followed up, Jean- the only representative that could help me advised that when the vendor was contacted, she was informed that the $175 needed to be redeemed in store or a full charge would ensure and they "apologized for the confusion". Really? They backed the vendor changing the terms of the voucher? I demanded a refund and they advised it would outside of the grace period for a refund? How about the fact that the voucher is not what was promised and sold? This is a shady site that backs shady vendors. BUYER BEWARE.

I purchased something that never arrived. I've been asking for a refund for 3 weeks now. Staff are really rude and keep launching investigations that take 7 days - then they start another one. I'm not sure how they're allowed to operate this scam legally.

Hi,
March 6, 2013

Hi,

How are you guys doing, LivingSocial? Listen I just wanted to let you know that I stayed true to my word. Though I love this new voucher culture and continue to participate in it heavily, I've ceased all purchases of living social vouchers and instead transferred all my business to Groupon and Amazonlocal. Groupon seems to be the best of the two just in terms of sheer volume and variety, but recently Amazonlocal ran the same voucher at Blue Cue that you were simultaneously running, although they had a typo: Where they were supposed to state "One Large Pizza AND. One Hour of Pool" they had "OR" instead of and. I was pretty sure it was a typo though so I still bought through them instead of you. Turns out it must have been a typo because I saw it today and they fixed it :).
Whoever over there in customer service at lc made the prior decision(s) to not help me further when I had an issue with the deceptive way a vendor worded/marketed their voucher, made very very poor ones. Living Social would have made way way more profit off my future purchases than the small amount of profit that they would have refunded or even credited me back for the one voucher purchase I had an issue with. By the way, I of course used the said voucher before the expiration date since you left me no choice, but not without some annoyance as I was unfortunately correct in my prediction: although the people were courteous enough, their game was obvious. I've never seen dental staff try to "hard sell" a cleaning... so hard-you know because your voucher didn't list (and so include) the cleaning in the "check up" description. They wanted $100 for a cleaning. That when every other dental "check up" voucher package I've seen includes x rays, and exam, AND a cleaning. You can get them at groupon for as little as $29. I basically paid $60 for some x rays of dental work I cant afford to have anyway, and a "bleach system" that I can't even use because my teeth ended up being too sensitive. Thanks a lot, Living Social. You suck.

My boyfriend purchased tickets to see Yo Gabba Gabba live in San Jose, CA for our daughter and they listed 3 tiers of pricing (with $45 tickets as the "best"). On the vouchers they said we would receive the tickets at will call on the day of the show, so we showed up thinking the seats would at least be halfway decent. Boy were we wrong. The place wasn't even close to being sold out but we were ALL the way in the rear on the second floor, almost as far as we could possibly be away from the stage. Not only that, they charged us $12 MORE (for each of our three tickets) than the face value of the ticket. I will never purchase anything from LivingSocial again... they are the worst.

Monster Aeration (amateur & rude)

My daughter bought me a voucher for snow removal. I phoned them on the 3rd at 11 AM to see when they would begin. I talked to the owner and he said he would get back to me in 10 minutes. I waited a hour. I phoned again and complained that I did not receive any return call. I talked to a woman who was very helpful. She apologized and told me the terms of the contract of when they would shovel my walk. An hour later the owner phoned up again. He began swearing profusely and said I was to shovel my own walk. This came as a complete surprise to me. I am battling cancer right now and my wife is due for knee surgery so we are at a loss for snow removal. The owner was quite rude which I feel I did not deserve and feel he should not be in business if this is his attitude.

LIVING SOCIAL DEALS…. BE AWARE
I only purchase local deals from Living Social for my area Leeds and Wakefield. However did you know that if you purchase goods and it has to be returned…. They make you return to the manufacturer…. NOT the local dealer! I purchased a £169 item and I was unable to even get into it… so had to return it as unusable by myself… I HAD TO SEND IT BACK TO GERMANY AT A COST OF £58.60 TO MYSELF! I just want my friends to be aware that a local deal is not always local and you can be scammed! DO NOT BUY GOODS FROM THIS COMPANY IF THERE IS EVEN A DOUBT IN YOUR MIND ABOUT IT'S USABILITY! I don't know if the goods worked or not as I couldn't get into them to try so I expected to have to pay a return LOCAL delivery charge but £58.60 to have to return it to Germany is totally unacceptable.

I purchased two iphone keyring chargers... and they did not work! I contacted Living Social about it and they told me to contact the merchant. So I did. Well that was weeks ago and I have still yet to see a refund. No one has responded to my most recent emails. I reached out to Living Social AGAIN to let them know the issues I'm having (since I can't be the only one!) and the response was basically that they couldn't/wouldn't do anything for me. Really?!? My advice: Use Groupon instead... they stand by their offers and have great customer service. I will NEVER use Living Social again.

I bought a voucher for DIAMOND BRIGHT CLEANING SERVICE and rang the vendor to arrange the deal. I spoke with DAVID who was rude, arrogant and unhelpful... so much for customer service. I rang Living Social to complain and after a 15 minute wait on hold got through to their Customer Service Department... where the concept of customer service is also alien. I outlined my complaint as to how I was treated and they put me hold, contacted the vendor and came back to say the vendor was honouring my deal and therefore it was nothing more to do with them! When I asked how to take my complaint further, I was informed a note would be put on the system but "nothing would happen anyway"! LIVING SOCIAL is an unprofessional service who only cares about making money, not their customers. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

From the business

LivingSocial is a leading "daily deal" site that sells discounted experiences and local services--restaurants, spa trips, home services, travel, etc.--via voucher. The consumer must pay for the voucher upfront, and the voucher generally must be used within a specified time period or it cannot be redeemed. To make these deals possible, LivingSocial sells merchants on its ability to help "find and keep more customers". LivingSocial is a private company based in Washington DC and its shareholders include Amazon.com.
