I purchased a voucher for an eye exam and $200 off a pair of frames. I went to the office to check out their selection of glasses before booking my exam. Most frames were around $500 and lenses were about $100-150 depending on your choice. With that, $200 off would still leave a balance higher than I would originally spend on a pair of frames since you could not submit the bill to insurance. I called LivingSocial customer service and although it had been past the 10 days or whatever their return period is and they gladly refunded me with little questions asked. I was very surprised and impressed.
Purchased the "cellphone screen repair" for Android phones for $79.00. Went to the vendor and was told he won't do Galaxy's b/c the screen is so expensive and that Living Social will refund my money. Okay, not a big deal... let LS know about it and they get back to me 2 weeks later with...
We're sorry that this deal didn't work out for you and understand you would like us to refund your voucher. Unfortunately, we are unable to extend you a credit card refund or Deal Bucks credit because your request is outside our refund policy.
Redeeming a voucher was a nightmare. The one I just did directed me to the vendor's website (which I assume is standard operating procedure) and there was no live link. I first had to write it out on a piece of paper it was so long (like over 20 characters long). Who is the genius who decided not to include live links? Never again.
What happened after that was not Living Social's fault, but I warn you not to ever book anything from Best Tours. Whoever designed their website should be shot and the way to redeem a voucher is not intuitive at all. I finally had to give the guy at zendesk my email address and log-in information so he could do it for me. From start to finish, this consumed over an hour of a beautiful Sunday afternoon
Livingsocial.com is not bad. I like using the restaurant vouchers more than anything else. I'm always sure to check other sites, like yelp, to be sure the restaurant is not struggling and ensure they actually serve good food.
My biggest problem with living social is that they accept contracts from fly-by-night companies, like housekeep services. These individuals set up websites to look legit, but they are just individuals looking to get business.
Another complaint I have is that some business provide lower / reduced service when they discover you're using a ls voucher. It's like their main goal is to raise money fast, but not grow their business.
My advice is to research the business before purchasing the voucher. My rule of thumb is don't buy if you don't see any reviews for the company on the web.
Useless... shower of $#*!s... tried ringing all day no reply then conveniently when time runs out to fix my problem they answer the phone and tell me time has run out, all because of the zip code box was filled out incorrectly... never again will i have dealings with them... ignorant people on the phone as well... telling me it's not their fault... they never replied to any of my emails regarding my problem. Which could have easily been fixed days ago if they had... BASTARDS!
Bought two deals. One, the business refused to honor because Living Social promised double what the business was willing to give. The second "deal" was a discounted item. Went to the website and the company didn't even list this item as an available product, nor did I ever receive any kind of confirmation or response from them. Like yelp deals before it, never again!
Absolutely horrible customer service. They implement a no refund policy and don't honour even their own fine print. Adds are misleading and they use it as excuse to avoid refund altogether. Best advice: stay away!
In my opinion this Web site is designed to just keep you from getting what you ordered, I ordered 2 tracker tags for my luggage, never came. Lost I guess, go figure. But when I got my email saying my money was accepted and order accepted, I am told 3 weeks later I have a voucher which their Web site wouldn't let me redeem. Please use another website or at least use PayPal, got money back overnight with them, says a lot for that company. Keep away please
I ordered 3 pairs of earrings on 6/7/16 and received them about 10 days later. On the second wearing, one of the earrings came off the post. I have been trying to contact LS for two days to ask about a replacement. I sat on hold for nearly an hour yesterday before getting disconnected. I have looked all over their site for an email.
I'm not sure I'll ever order jewelry from them again, or anything else for that matter. The vouchers expire too quickly and now that I know what a nightmare it is to get customer service, I'm leery.
One of there deals could not schedule me in so I have contacted customer service 3 times with no response. I would like my money back. At this point I am no longer using there service and telling everyone else to stay away as well.
Bought 3 deals. One worked fine, one they cancelled and issued a credit. They threw in a $10. Inconvenience credit to my account. So far not bad but not good.
This last one when I called to make an appointment 2 months before the class was going to start no anser from the company. Living Social help line said I had the right number. Made them call and the line is disconnected. They offered a refund.
My problem is in 2 out of three tries they did not vet the company. The service they recommended either reneged on the deal or did not really exist.
Cannot trust their recommendations
Could not use the voucher because the venue had no availability. Living Social took nearly 2 weeks to reply to me, only to tell me they would not be refunding anything.
In future I will be using KGB Deals, much more professional and customer friendly.
Shame on you livingsocial.
Living Social is a scam... it shows from what I experienced with the Air Duct cleaning services. The fine print covers hardly anything and the hidden charges are very costly. If I hired a local company, I could have done it with some reasonable price. Finally, I did not use their service and wasted my time. Never want to use any deals with LS again. LS refund policy is complex. Unhappy customer.
They promise "deal bucks" if you refer friends through a referral link, but they did not give you the credit for these referral purchases even though I verified each and every purchase through my referral link.
My emails to customer service were never returned - apart from the generic "we'll get back to you in two days" which they never did - even after repeated emails. Also, their customer service number looks to be discontinued as of 3/14/11.
I'll stick with the many other competing deal sites instead of Living Social.
Stay away. I purchased one deal with them, and can fully say groupon is much better. I had a problem and tried to contact the support for some help. They sent me a reply about three days later. It was a pre-made message that was completely not helpful. Tried contacting again, same thing. Don't bother with a company that can't help their customers.
I love Groupon and have had nothing but fantastic experiences with both them directly and the businesses they promote, so I thought I'd try Living Social expecting a similar experience.
Several vouchers have worked out fine, but I bought one for a hair salon that I believe has gone out of business. I've called repeatedly for two weeks, text messaged the cell number on their web site, and e-mailed the owner. No response. I contacted Living Social and got a form letter reply saying I could gift the voucher to a friend if I no longer wanted it... If I can't get an appointment or even a returned phone call, why in the world would I give my voucher to a friend? I replied back yesterday, but no response yet.
Awful site. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this site. I order a "deal" they took my money, and when i went to use the "voucher code" no dice. Nothing. So I contact living social thinking, I'm sure it's a simply error that can be corrected. Nope. Nothing. I got a nice canned email saying, "we'll get back to you on that." A complete and utter waste of time money and effort.
I ordered a product through Living Social. After waiting several weeks for it to arrive (which it never did) I tried calling the customer service number several times and either nobody mans the phones or the operator was overwhelm with phone calls. I ended up filing a claim through my bank to get refunded and they advised me that the company that I bought from had placed an automatic monthly withdrawal from my account. Never again would I buy anything on Living Social. Definitely stay away!
I purchased vouchers for carpet cleaning from Majestic cleaners. I immediately attempted to contact the merchants and received a response a month later. They will not clean my carpets unless I purchase other services which are quite expensive. Living social refuses to refund me my money, hence I am now almost £60.00 out of pocket. Avoid purchasing any majestic cleaners deals and living social deals at all costs. If you make a mistake or the merchant does not deliver, you will not get your money back.
I purchased a shoe rack through Living Social from the company - Ez Innovations as a present for my wife. The product proved to be totally unfit for purpose. I contacted both organisations seeking a refund. Ez Innovations replied promising to get back to me. I assume this was an automated response. Living Social have refused to offer a refund or provide any assistance in resolving this issue.
I would advise anybody to be extremely careful when dealing with this organisation as they obviously do not vet the services or providers they have on their site. This could leave a person exposed to very dubious operators using this platform to move their inferior, defective and shoddy goods and services. Living Social strike me as a mercenary organisation with no regard for the customers using their service.
Answer: I wouldn't recommend these people to anyone. A total nightmare. They take your money don't send the goods and they don't answer e mails
Answer: There do seem to have been some financial problems with many of the deals from Living Social. But when I had a problem they answered the phone and it was dealt with quickly and the goods resent.
Answer: Have you contacted the customer service at Livingsocial.com? I have found them to be pretty responsive in the past. This is a seperate review site.
