I tried canceling my account two days before my subscription was out. It said it went through but apparently it didn't and I was still charged. Called customer service as their website clearly states if youre charged before the 14 day period they issue a refund and since I had been charged even after cancling I assumed getting a refund would be easy. That they would have the usual customer service. They do not. They have the worst customer service I have ever encountered. After calling twice and being told twice I would receive a refund but never did I then get an email suddenly saying I was refused a refund. Even though I'd been told twice I would get one. Then I called a third time. Refused to let me speak to a manager or the billing Dept. Then received an email saying that they couldn't even find my account. Still haven't received a refund. I have contacted my bank and my attorney and will be taking legal action against this corrupt comaony. This is not okay.
This company has a hidden agenda. Stealing your money every month without your consent!

Wrote them an email saying that I want to cancel my subscription and refund nearly £100, replied with we can't find your email on our system, gave them my details, suprise suprise no reply. That was 3 days ago, sent another email still no reply. The only everyone seems to get a reply is by posting a review here! Word of advice to anyone who is considering using them, don't touch them!

Worst customer Service you will ever experience. Stay well away from this bunch of fraudsters. I signed up for a trial. Tried to contact the company during the trial to cancel but with no luck. They then change my account 22 quid and will not refund me. You are far better going on fiver and getting a Cv personally made for you.
I'm so angry but only angry at myself for just trusting a website that looks legit. If only I had stumbled upon these reviews first.
At least I'm only out $40. $#*! tech bros probably sitting in SF somewhere laughing at us with each $40 they take.
Greetings Alexandra S, We're sorry that you feel that way. We explain that the subscription is auto-renewing. The auto renewal is listed with the features of the 14 day subscription on the sales page, as well as on the payment and confirmation pages. We also send a payment confirmation email stating the date and amount of the auto- renewal. We do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email and self-cancellation in your Account Settings.
Cancellation stops the auto-renewal. Once it’s canceled, we send a cancellation confirmation email for your records. There are times that auto emails can get picked up as spam or junk mail. Be sure to check your spam/junk mail folder.

I have used this website once in july after paying the 1.95 fee to be able to edit my CV. After which without any email saying that I was in a subscription. They have been stealing money from me for 7 months. I noticed today that in my bank aco$#*! money has been withdrawn from me from this company for the last 7 months of 22.95 and I have never had one email telling me that I was still on this subscription. I contacted customer service and told them about this. To which they ended the chat without answering my question and blocked me from using the live chat service. This is atrocious and makes this one of the worst companies I have ever come across. I have been scammed and now I cannot even contact the company as I can no longer use their chat service. Here is the chat:
Hector Carranza Amezquita
Any other question?
Me
I dont know I feel like I have just been scammed. I was led into this by paying the 1.95 to be able to see my cv and then without even sending me an email about these payments you have been taking money out of my account for the last 4 months. This has accounted to around 80 pounds that has been wasted and I was not even sent an email telling me that I was part of this subscription
Me
I would like to report this

This is the worst company. I was informed I was only going to be charged 1.95 for the one resume. I was charged 39.95 for a month after 14 days. I called for a refund thinking it would be simple. They refused to give me a refund. The customer service rep hung up on me, after saying she was the supervisor and that there was nobody above her I could speak to. She said they have a no refund policy, which I agreed to when I paid the $1.95 for the one resume. HERE IS THEIR REFUND POLICY AS POSTED IN THEIR TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
REFUND POLICY
ResumeGenius.com provides a full refund to customers who are still within their 14-day trial subscription term. Customers who wish to redeem a refund must contact customer service prior to the end of their trial subscription term either by calling customer support at *******048, emailing *******@resumegenius.com, or by using live chat via ResumeGenius.com.
NO WHERE DOES IT SAY NO REFUNDS.
This place is a scam. I called my bank to dispute the charges and we will see how that goes.
We're very sorry that you have had this experience with the service of ResumeGenius.com. We are livecareer.com and we are not associated with resumegenius. We went ahead and found the number for their customer service department in Google for you (866) 215-9048. Hope you get a proper resolution.

They provide mediocre service and charge your credit card subscription fees even when you did not sign up for a subscription. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. IT'S A SCAM!
We apologize that you had this experience with the service. On our system you can create unlimited amounts of resumes and cover-letters and download them on plain text for free. In order to download the resume with our templates and designs you must be a premium member of our service. We provide to our new customer to try the service for a trial period for $1.95. Before the subscription is purchased we provide the information that after the 14 day trial is over is going to auto-renew to the monthly subscription. We also have this information provided in the checkout page and a customer also receives an email with all the information of the subscription when the order is processed. We offer many ways to cancel the active subscription, this include self canceling on the page under your settings, by chat and also you can call and we can assist you on the cancellation. We are very committed in providing great customer service. You can contact us directly at customerservice@livecareer.com so we can provide you with assistance on your current situation as well we send you a private message so we can help you achieve a timely resolution.

I used the live career service to quickly make a resume, it looked fine until i downloaded the pdf version. It looked terrible, it was completely different than the preview. Not just different but it looked worse than if I made one with a basic text editor. The font looked like it out came out of a printer from the 80's and all the lines seperating sections were replaced with dots. I've emailed customer service and have not heard back. I have cancelled my account should be set to expire in about 2 weeks. I've noticed that in my accounts section it doesn't allow the user to edit or remove the billing info, which is very odd. I'm a web developer and I'm aware of the thinking that goes into these applications and limiting the users ability to edit billing is most likely their intention. I hope they don't "accidently" bill me for next month.

This site applies a well known scheme of stealing your money. They lure you in with a free account, and you don't have to pay the first month. But in the terms and conditions they clearly state that after the first month they enroll you into their monthly subscription. And this is their business model. It is legal and they count on users not noticing for as long as possible that they are taking their money. When you finally notice, there is nothing you can do since the terms and conditions are clearly stated.
So it's not illegal, but it's still a scam. A legal scam. And no matter how many "appologies for you inconvenience" you will receive, they still tricked you into taking your money. Nothing free will ask for your credit card.
We take all feedback very seriously. It will be forwarded to our Marketing team. Please contact us directly if you have any further issues or concerns. You can email us at customerservice@livecareer.com

Opened an account on 1/*******, attempted to cancel on 1/10/2016 at their website online, kept getting "oops" msg and would not allow me to cancel. I immediately sent them an email explaining that their website was not allowing me to cancel, as they clearly say you can, and that I wanted to cancel ASAP. Keep in mind, this is well within my 14 days to cancel! I received a response from them right away apologizing for the inconvenience of the website and that they were sorry to see me go. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT that I wanted to cancel. I thought all was well but... THEY CHARGED ME 6 DAYS LATER ANYWAY!
I called immediately to find out what had happened and why they charged me. The rep I spoke to was very friendly and apologized that I was going through this, and that he could see the email I had sent to cancel and that he would send a request for a refund. Again, I thought all was well, but... I have now received an email DECLINING my request for refund stating I was over the 14 day period! UNBELIEVABLE! How this company gets away with such unethical practices, I truly don't understand. I realize there may be people who actually didn't cancel in the proper time, and had to be charged, but I most certainly cancelled in time! And by the reviews I'm reading, this seems to be a typical practice for them. I know its only $40, but the lack of ethics & shadiness of this company is shameful.
I will be closely watching my bank account to make sure they don't STEAL another $40 from my account. BE AWARE... this company is shady at best!

Make sure you delete your subscription as soon as you create your resume, they charged me $39 every four weeks for 2 years without letting me know that they were charging my account (which is around $950.00). No help or refunds are given once contacted since everything is in the "Terms and Conditions". Just stay away from this site, it's one big scam.

Live Career created a site called My Perfect Resume so they can scam people into a subscription from 2 websites. They will tell you they are charging a minimal fee and then will bill you monthly until you discover it and report them. Terrible scam; they know exactly what they are doing!

Once I paid my $39.80, to save and print out my resume, they wanted another $1.95.
A red light went off - and trying to cancel, there is no phone number, no address, just a very rude 'live chat' person named Jesus.

WARNING! SCAM ARTISTS! CROOKS! THIEVES! NEVER USE Livecareer.com!
I used Livecareer.com once assuming the one and only transaction was complete.
In September of 2015, I purchased a resume template from Livecareer.com for $2.00.
I downloaded the template and used it to create a resume for my step-son, thinking I was helping him in a most loving and caring way. I made the resume and thought the transaction was concluded. Recently I was reviewing my Visa bill and discovered that Livecareer.com has been charging me $39.80 a month for the last 5 months (I was only on the site once to make that one resume.) They are not up front regarding the monthly renewal. In fact, I would never have purchased the product if I had known about them and their unscrupulous practices. I have since then searched the internet and have found many, many others who were scammed monthly fees by Livecareer.com. I called Livecareer.com and was told that the two week subscription ( I was unaware of) automatically rolls over into a monthly subscription. I was on the site ONE DAY. When I was making my purchase this monthly subscription was not evident. Why in heaven's name would I want to purchase a monthly subscription to do my resume over and over again? I am NOT stupid, but felt that way when I discovered the credit card charges. I called the company and was told to re-read the fine print! Customer service reps must have had many calls regarding this, they have their lines memorized! If they cared at all about the customer they would return fees that were charged to people's accounts! I think Livecareer.com steals money from honest people trying to better themselves.
I will surely make sure everyone I know does not use their services.
I would like this money back, but more importantly, I want this company out of business because of their scam they call a business. Now I am trying to work with my credit card's customer service to get this issue resolved and my money transactions negated. By the way, there was a language barrier at the start of the conversation. As we continued the service representative (and I use that term loosely) became more and more fluent and understandable. Was she trying to scare me away at first by being hard to understand?
I wonder. I asked to speak with her supervisor. She said her supervisor was in a meeting and could not be disturbed. Later in the conversation she said he was out of town. Later she said he would be out of the city for a week.
In summary, WARNING... Live career.com = SCAM ARTISTS, CROOKS, AND THIEVES.

Answer: This is what the site advertised: For 14 day access, $14.95, and for a year $39.80. However, signing up for ANY service aloows the site to store your payment information for further billing, and getting in touch with them, much less obtaining help is nigh impossible. After two weeks they will pull $39.80 MONTHLY from your payment method (please see my review and others on Google and yelp for further verification of this).
Answer: Do not use this site!
Answer: I had to cancel my Debit Card account with Bank of America, because the Bank refused to block LiveCareer from my account. I wonder if they are in cahoots or what? I believe a class action suit may be required so we can get our funds back.
Answer: Call your bank and change your card number Call them and let them know you have contacted your bank and will contact the better business bureau of you don't get a full refund. Then contact the better bBB and file a formal complaint. You will have a refund within a week. That's how I got my money back
Answer: Dont waste your time trying to contact them. I went to my bank and had all future billing refused AND I went to the State Attorney General and reported them.
Answer: Hello, Sarah - Thank you for getting in touch with us, our subscriptions are auto-renewing, we have a continuous billing feature that charges your account after the 14-day period and every month for the regular price afterward. However, if you are only interested in the 14-trial and wish to avoid any recurring charges simply cancel your subscription before beforehand. We hope that this helps clear things up for you, if you have any other questions or concerns, please let us know. Best regards, LiveCareer US
