LinkedIn is a very professional website i liked their recent changes on UI of website, now its much easier to use.
And also it helps me to find a good Job :) as well as fine sales people to whom i can contact and negotiate on my products.
Keep it Up linkedIn team.
Shortly after I registered a year ago my programmed modem started warning me about probes from LinkedIn. Spam started coming every day from LinkedIn and others who tailored spam to my surfing habits. LinkedIn ads and paid reviewers say that a basic free subscription ptovides networking but there is no search engine to find known colleagues. The price for the incompetent service is exorbitant. It is basically a criminal site designed to take your money and provide a playground for the moneyed. The operation is doomed to failure. One can say that it is a tool for implementing global totalitarianism.
My company has been in business for over 12 years an as scaled astronomically, Our vendor partners consist of the best in business and notable names. Linkedin has severely disappointed our company with strong-arm techniques and poor customer service and follow-up. The only time they attend to a customer is during renewal time. By the way, they try to blindside you by renewing a day earlier. If ypou want to change the product, they delay you and point to an antiquated clause that states you have write to them 30 days in advance to cancel but the rep only starts to call you 15 days in advance. If I can give Zero stars I would. We're not the only recruiting company that feels this way, which is probably why they have a 3.5 stars. If you have alternatives like Careerbuilder, Monster, Dice, Indeed, utilize them as we are very disappointed in the downfall of LinkedIn.
I signed up with LinkedIn a while ago and decided to try the premium service and see if would benefit me. After using it for a couple days I decided that the cost wasn't worth the return. Therefore I cancelled it, 6 months later there is a charge of 64.99 to LinkedIn Ireland that I never authorized, and when i contacted them they gave me the runaround. Under the criminal code of Canada to take money without consent is theft and in this case theft under 1000 dollars which is small I agree but it's the principle now.
First impression, the system works. Easy personal information setup, interactive site, people can view our employment status directly from our own page. Easily to get a new job when changing status from working to looking for a job. Quite fast.
It has a nice interface with the news feeds on top and all the tabs at the bottom. It also allows you to message people if you wish to communicate with them. One more important feature is you can follow recruiters and keep a track of their activities and keep yourself updated. Overall a super platform for job seekers and recruiters.
Be aware! You can't speak to no one! There's No Phone Number on LinkedIn website. They will screw you!
When I posted a job on Linkedin was because it said it was FREE, I didn't know you guys were going to charge my card with 3 payments in less than 2 months for a total of 1,276.70 without authorizing it. The worst part is that I only got 4 resumes from your website after posting a Job... I want my money back, this is crazy I'm just a small company.
Out of the 27 applicants only 4 of them were in the McKinney area and only had one interview, the rest were in the Dallas area, that's 45 minutes to an hour away from where my company is located. This is ridiculous and so upsetting to me, it makes me sick to my stomach that I waisted $1200 on nothing.
Really pathetic and useless for searching a job on LinkedIn, so far have applied for many jobs but till date not even a single response have been received from any employer, even the profile has match with the posted vacancy. Don't even deserve a single star.
I have had a LinkedIn account for years. Recently, for some reason, I could not reset my password. LinkedIn sent me a pin number, which I entered. Then they wanted a code from my "authenticator app." I didn't have this app, and I have no desire to get it, so they asked for a copy of my passport, identity card, or drivers license. No way! I didn't feel comfortable sharing this information with LinkedIn. At that point, I wanted to talk to a person by chat or telephone. No way to do this. Their customer service is nonexistent. At the same time, I can't even delete my account without signing into it, which I have been unable to do. To make matters worse, they are harassing me with multiple email messages per day, wondering why I'm not logging in. This company is useless.
I accidentally purchased LinkedIn Premium. My mistake. Thirty days later I was charged $69.99 via the Apple ID on my iPhone. Because I did not receive a receipt for 5 days, I called my credit card company to cancel my card. They could have just cancelled my Premium subscription or sent an alert. Instead they back doored this purchase through my iPhone. Lesson learnt. I have removed my credit card from the "purchase and subscriptions" settings in my iPhone and cancelled this subscription ($70 per month are you kidding me?).
Turns out there's a lot more to a LinkedIn profile than I thought:)
This book walks you through all the key areas to concentrate on when trying to grab a new dream job or the eye of a recruiter. You'll discover how to find the right keywords for the jobs you want to be hired for, as well as - crucially - where to put them in your profile for maximum search visibility.
Once your profile is appearing in more search results, the book then shows you how to get more people to click through from your listing to your profile. If you have a LinkedIn profile that needs a boost, I recommend grabbing this no-frills guide - it's a major time saver.
I created an account but wasn't receiving an email confirmation code. I asked customer support for help and waited for two weeks just to get an email back saying that my account is now restricted.
I tried to solve this issue with customer support - it went on for a month, I provided an ID, but they never lifted the restriction. They also didn't bother to provide a reason for restricting my account or any answers to any of my questions. All the emails you get from them are automatic, it doesn't matter what you write or ask about.
It is absolutely the worst platform I have ever worked with
I tried the "free" 30 day Premium subscription & cancelled well within the 30 day deadline. However, because I had been required to provide my payment information, LinkedIn nonetheless proceeded to charge me almost $600 for a year's Premium subscription. I have repeatedly written to LinkedIn, explained the problem over & over, provided proof of payment upon request, etc., but they simply throw up more obstacles, delay, stonewall, & even out-and-out ignore me.
I have a Premium LinkedIn account for my staffing agency, and my business relies on LinkedIn. Currently, there is a technical issue on the website, and I am not able to view candidate profiles after doing a person search. I reported the issue 2 days ago on their website, and I have received poorly written responses (not to mention there's no phone support). The issue is still unresolved. For a subscription service, I would expect at least same-day phone support.
Lead Ferret has my home phone number listed for a company and all of its employees. That company has been out-of-business for four years. One so-called employee left the company over 20 years ago, yet he is still listed. I get telemarketer calls from India thanks to Lead Ferret's crappy data. I have called Lead Ferret numerous times and they refuse to correct their database. I finally filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they ignored that. I'm still getting phone calls. It's time for Lead Ferret to go out-of-business.
This site is not truthful about its membership rolls. When a member decides to leave LI for whatever reason, and deactivates their profile, LI still counts them as participating, with a profile member. This practice is disingenuous, and deceitful to those advertisers and investors who believe these falsely inflated numbers. LI also practices censorship, is a protected sanctuary of god drones and bots. Pretension abounds.
I managed to get to the 30k connections thresh-hold. And decided to do a clean-up.
It's practically impossible. There is no way of deleting connections without wasting countless hours to do it. They allow you to view your connections and delete them directly as long as you don't filter them because after you do that, you have to go on each profile individually in order to delete them. Also, if you are patient enough to go through this manner, it will send you to the top of the list after each deletion - meaning, you have to scroll down through 15-20-25-30k of people every single time :O This is INSANE!
Very poorly thought when it comes to this aspect. If tomorrow I change my job and work something totally different, i can't use my account at all :)
I think a profile on LinkedIn it's a must for everyone who cares about his career. I like it because it helps me stay in touch with old work colleagues. My profile thee helped me get my last job.
What I don't like about it is that I get quite a lot of spam connection requests from headhunters but I think this is a small downside of having a public profile.
As someone off the road, I can't really show up for an interview at any given time just to be declined or to get a maybe. Using this site I can set up a virtual interview and get an answer right away.
I submitted a request for a high level account breakdown/summary based on a spreadsheet I was given, and Nerdify's data analyst really helped me understand the best manner in which to make sense of the information. They were incredibly responsive and answered all my questions in a timely manner, and gave me the means to come up with projections and a compelling presentation. I healthy recommend them for data analytics since they're excel masters!
Answer: The recommender should be direct, comment on project you have worked on, and a brief summary of your work style
Answer: It is a platform for professionals to connect with each other but it is failing miserably because it doesn't deliver. There is a great deal of dissatisfaction with the product.
LinkedIn has a rating of 2.2 stars from 500 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with LinkedIn most frequently mention customer service, credit card and free trial. LinkedIn ranks 468th among Social Network sites.
