I had read great things of LegacyBox and sent in 8 8mm tapes that have been kept in boxes. No email was sent about issues but received digital download and cds with only 20 minutes of memories. Paid over 200 for less than 20 minutes of memories was not worth the time. Very disappointed
This was the best Christmas present that we have ever given to our parents. Watching them relive memories was the best gift! The process of sending the tapes in and having Legacybox work their magic was so simple and worth every dime.
We Love our Legacybox! My mother died a few years ago, so I found all our old videos for 75 years and have them digitized for Dad. He's been looking at them for weeks, and we enjoy every minute as each family member also enjoys. Thank you LegacyBox for giving my dad his years back.
A bit unsure from the beginning...
All we had were some 8mm home movies from the 1950's, that were continuing to deteriorate in a tote in the garage, along with some family photo's. That's all that was available to show our children and grandchildren about half of their more recent
Family ancestry. Too bad, but we didn't want to lose that too. That's where LEGACYBOX came to our rescue!
The results... beyond any expectation imaginable! We were hoping to simply preserve any thing that could possibly be saved... what we got is truly impressive. The 8mm home movies view better then their originals. So viewable, we simply cannot believe it. The photo's will now be enjoyed by many far... far into the future.

We wanted to watch our wedding video but it was on VHS tapes and 30 years old. After doing some research we decided to send it to Legacybox. Although it took quite a while to get our videotapes back with everything transferred to DVD and Thumb-drive, it was well worth it. They informed us at each step from arrival at the facility to when the order was completed. We now have all of our memories preserved and now can hand them down to our kids as we got two DVD sets.

Legacybox provides the best service! We had many video tapes that just sat in a box. We took the leap to have the video tapes converted to digital.
Legacybox converted the tapes within 1 week! They sent us the link and returned the original tapes. We were able to share the memories right away! Our adult children were so happy to see themselves when they were infant to 8 yrs old. As parents, we treasured these memories. It was fun seeing ourselves young too!

I was very pleased to see my engagement party and wedding again. My children and grandchildren will be thrilled to see their grandparents wedding and old vacation films. They won't believe what they looked like when they were that young. I am glad I decided to put my films on dvd since it is so much easier to watch.

Legacybox did a wonderful job restoring my comforting them into digital files that I can view on my computer. I can edit them with software and copy the files. It took 10 weeks to get my files after they received them which is way to long. My biggest disappointment was when I viewed the files, the quality was awful. I complained and was told I could pay to send them back and they would look at it, instead of anymore hassle I purchased a cable for $10 and did the conversions myself.
I have sent more than 30 vhs tapes to be transferred. I've had to return some. Some of them, the voice did not coordinate with the video. When you get your dvds back, you need to sit and watch each one to the end. Some of mine are fine in the beginning, but the longer they are playing, the more the voice is "off" from the video. So, there is NO personal service here. They receive your old tapes and just sent them through! It is obvious that they are not checked before shipping out!-----so flippin disappointed!

Legacy Box digitalized a VHS tape and three audio cassettes for me. They did an outstanding job! The process took a few months, but it was well worth the wait. I appreciated, especially, the fact that they stayed in touch throughout the process with updates; I welcomed the fact that I knew exactly where my order was along the way. I would certainly use them again, if I have the need.

I recently moved and while I was packing, I stumbled upon on old Betamax tapes. Without a player, there was no way for me to view these keepsakes. Legacybox was so easy to order. Once my box arrived, it came with a personalized direction booklet with the stickers to tag my tapes. I mailed the box out and once I received the notification of the digital files, I saved them and shared with my family for all of us to enjoy. I truly appreciate this service and I'm so very thankful for the memories you have given back to myself and my family.
I arranged the reviews newest to oldest, and noticed that negatives reviews happen randomly, but positive reviews are clumped around a couple of days. How can this be? I suspect Legacy Box employees have been assigned the task of writing positive reviews to get the average up.
I sent in some old (the oldest 40 years old, the rest 30-33) VCR tapes that had traveled the world and been stored under questionable conditions for many years. I was overwhelmed with joy to see the quality of the restored tapes on the USB! In addition, the customer service is excellent. I give Legacybox my highest recommendations and will send many more tapes to them. I just started with 20 as a test... have trifold more to go.

After having costco transfer my movies only to find out they can't be edited I went to what I thought would be a reputable company- I read and re-read the info. No where does it say that the dvd's are not going to be editable! I would gladly have paid for the extra thumb drive if that is the only editable format- now, I can't get them to answer me to sovle my editing issue... will be telling my friends not to use this company, poor support.
Without a projector, we "filmed" family memories even though we had no way of viewing what we had.
Thanks to Legacybox, we now have access to our home movies. Such a wonderful surprise to see the family moments we captured. We can even hear a family member say, "I think I missed that," without realizing it was being recorded along with her comment. We are so happy with our Legacybox.

I sent in two video reels of some activities that happened almost 50 years ago. I wanted them for an event scheduled for 2 April. When I sent them in, the lead time estimate told me that I should have them back by mid-March. I had received no updates for several weeks, so I called the help line. I was told that they had a large number of videos which had been sent in after the holiday season. After I explained the need for getting these videos done, and that I had sent them in expecting them to be complete by mid-March, they moved the work up and had them done a week ahead of the event. They even made them available online, a service I didn't pay for, so that I would definitely have them on time, regardless of the speed of USPS.
I'm very grateful for their efforts, especially their customer service. And by the way, the videos look great!

Answer: All Video and Film Transfers are done so at 480P. Additionally, we convert almost all consumer formats of videotapes, photos, film reels, and audio. Here's a full list of formats we can digitize: *Videotapes: VHS, VHS-C, S-VHS, S-VHS-C, Betamax, Hi8, Digital8, Video8, MiniDV, HD MiniDV, and MicroMV A note on foreign tapes: We can convert most PAL and SECAM consumer format tapes. The only foreign format we cannot currently convert are PAL and SECAM Betamax tapes. Answer: Hi Judy, Great question! We ask that slides be grouped into sets of 25 (one item) either in an envelope or ziplock bag. We will provide small barcode stickers to apply to each bag of 25. Slides will be processed in numerical order, according to those barcodes. The order within each set of 25 is not guaranteed as there are alternate factors such as shipping where they could move around. The digital files are free from any copyrights so you can very easily re-order them however you'd like once you receive them back!
