I had members for my 2 boys in Burnsville, MN. After one year I wanted to terminate my service coz we were moving. Customer Service insisted that I should freeze my account and gave me his email address to proceed once I travel. I sent email but no reply. After 3 month they have been still taking money from my account then i was told by his supervisor that the email service doesn't even work. I requested to terminate my service again and to be refunded. It took another 2 month to sort out after going back and forth. I was insulted and humiliated by the customer service and his supervisor was aware he didn't even apologize. All I asked was to deactivate my membership and refund the money that was withdrawn from my account with out my approval. At last I had to call USbank to block them. So don't do direct payment if you have to deal with LA fitness. Once you want to cancel it is a huge deal to get rid of them.
Hello,
I felt really disappointed with this company. When I choose this gym, the person who attended me didn't tell about many charges I will have during this membership. I had told and made many complaints about how frustrated I was and this company didn't mind about it. I just won't go to this place again and I will tell everyone I know to exercise in another place that is more honest with their clients.
LA Fitness has great hospitality and are very welcoming. The access to machines is great and feel that is a great environment for beginners and experienced people. 10/10 recommend!
I returned to LA fitness after a long absence and unfortunately the instructors announced that the class duration including cooldown would only be 45 minutes. Fort me, it is not worth driving all this way for such a short class. They used to be and should be 1 hour. I received a 3 day free pass at 24 hour fitness and the classes are 1 hour as it should be. Very disapointing. Otherwise, the place looks very nice.
I was lied to about the personal training sessions - how long they were, when they expire etc. Many inaccuracies. When I called customer service, no matter who I spoke with, they all said "the contract says..." They were very degrading and no help. I didn't even ask for money back. Just to extend the time to use the sessions. No help whatsoever!
STAY FAR AWAY FROM LA FITNESS!
I was lied to about the personal training sessions - how long they were, when they expire etc. Many inaccuracies. I lost my personal trainer due to a promotion so the person I signed up I no longer got and he didn't seem to care…no one did. There was no branch manager to talk to - just a coropate associate in CA that only said "the contract says..." They were very degrading and no help. I lost over $1,000 with no personal training to get out of the contract abs cancel my membership. They refused no money back. Just to extend the time to use the sessions. No help whatsoever!
STAY FAR AWAY FROM LA FITNESS!
Personally, the Pros of LA Fitness out number the Cons. I love working out at my LA Fitness. I use to have a membership at Planet Fitness and although Planet may have newer equipment LA has almost everything Planet has. The only kind of con to LA is the lack of a consistent cleanliness as it relates to the locker room and showers. In the showers rust on all the shower curtain bars. The Sauna while great is horribly dirty. Lockers broken and garbage on the floors from one day to the next.
SCAMMM! They charged us a $1000 fee for cancellation? It was originally $3000 but they LOWERED it down to $1000, oh how humble. The guy was very pushy and made us sign up for personal training when we clearly kept denying it. We then saw we had the chance to cancel UP TO 10 DAYS but they didn't care. They only want your money and trick you when you first join as a member! Stay away.
Do not give them your debit card info or routing number. They will drain your acct without your authorization
We are calling BBB and taking them to court to get 1300$ of an unauthorized personnal trainer
Recently joined for Yoga classes at 4:30 pm, M-W. Club is staffed by wet behind the ears kids who "like" don't know the answer to any of your questions. They sit slumped in their chairs doing whatever it is they are doing on their mobile devices. First time, studio was absolutely freezing. No one knew how to shut off fans at least. Second time, no email blast was sent to members regarding the time of operation for Labor Day. Third time, Monday's Yoga instructor is out for surgery. NO SUBSTITUTE WAS SCHEDULED! Again, no email advising this. Yikes, go yhete yo no avail! Really, a poorly run gym. I am a newbie and laid out 1st 2 months, plus start up and annual fee@$189. LOST IT ALL. Again, unless you are a kid dressing the fitness fad and daddy paying your way and you don't take the classes, maybe this gym is for you.
I was a member of Bally's before LA Fitness was started. Saw a female wearing a shirt that said "No Lives Matter until Black Lives Matter". The workers don't care about all the rule violations, they're lazy and don't care about much of anything.
So, I have had a membership with LA Fitness for many, many years with really no issues. However, time to renew and I'm now told I do not have access to certain "signature" clubs", which I had NEVER been made aware of. A new club went up right around the corner from my house…. It is NO BIGGER, offers NOTHING that the other clubs don't offer, and they cram machines in so closely that it's hard to get around. So, the ONLY way it's different is that it's newer…big whoop. For no known reason it is considered "signature". They want to TRIPLE my membership fee to gain absolutely nothing but proximity. SERIOUSLY?! Nobody would make any kind of concession. If I could give zero stars I would.
Lack of instructors for the cycle classes makes the membership not worth it. I've emailed corporate and there has been no resolution! Very unhappy stuck paying $44 a month for 2 memberships.
My mom was stiff-armed into a membership. She tried to cancel next day, sales staff made her cry w guilt for leaving and at first told her she could not cancel. This was the King of Prussia location
I just started my membership last month. I was advised and assisted properly when I started my membership. Mr. Jose Jimenez trained me and I realized that I wasn't working out properly myself. He made sure I felt comfortable with every workout and also made sure that I pushed myself to the best of my ability. Jose then counseled me on my personal goals and offered personal training as well as strengthening class so I could build my desired physic. He is the BEST! LA Fitness must be proud to have him on the team.

LA fitness is a very very dirty gym the toilets are always nasty never any paper towels workout equipment stay broke for up to a 9 months I would not recommend this gym to no one
LA Fitness advised I could freeze my account if I would be gone for a month. When I asked about starting the freeze period I was told no one was there to help me. Staff did not take my name or pass on a message to anyone to contact me to get it set up. I did not use the facility for over a month and called to get the freeze started from the time I was not able to use it as I had earlier requested. Was told they could not go back and freeze or credit my account. Even when it was their fault for not getting it done when first requested. They further advised me they could only do it beginning with next billing cycle which is 13 days away. Ok but no one told me this when I signed up with the club. I asked to talk with a manager and was transferred to corporate in California and talked with Evelyn who was unwilling to take responsibility for not getting freeze in a timely manner or accommodating me in any way. I was only asking for a $19 credit but apparently the money is more important to LA Fitness than taking care of their customers or providing good customer service. It seems this attitude comes from the top at corporate in Irvine California. Very disturbing and not the kind of company I like to do business with. I did not check reviews before signing up but am surprised at the multitude of negative reviews and absence of positive reviews. I will be switching to another fitness center asap.
Lats week on a Sunday I was in the gym and this girl I have seen in the gym on several occasions was coming down the stairs and shot a bird at me. At first, I assumed it was in my head and went to back to my workout. Come today I am at the gym and the same girl was sitting in the yoga room on some mats, I walk in and as I am walking by she is snarling at me for whatever reason I do not know. So, I just keep it moving and go on to the punching bags per my usual routine, after about ten minutes on the bag I go over to Strech and the manager or as he put it courteous Curtis comes up to me and tells me there was a complaint against me, so I asked for what, he proceeded to say I was making members uncomfortable, I asked what members, he did not answer the question then he said if it happened again he was going to have to ask me to leave at this point I am agitated and start to vent. Then he makes some comments well if you have not done anything I would just continue to work out and then made some comment about how his mother use to say a hit dog will holler. Now I am really pissed and told him that I feel like I am being harassed because some woman feels like I make her uncomfortable and now you're making me uncomfortable and making threats. Needless to say, the interaction did not go well, and the manager refused to give me his whole name, I will be following up with a complaint to corporate.
Never sign up for them. They automatically drafted my account 2 days earlier than the contract stipulated and when they over-drafted me, they drafted 2 more times! I tried to get the manager at 67th Avenue and Peoria in Glendale to reimburse me. But he said that he couldn't. So I told him to cancel the account and give me a cancellation receipt. Two months later they attempted two more drafts at the full price and wouldn't reimburse me even though I had already cancelled and I even had a receipt. Terrible Customer Service.
They really $#*! you up with their stupid rules ended up costing me over 400 dollars for doing 2 weeks they are really $#*!ed up I hope the people burn at the bottom most areas of hell.
