This place is huge so I had to come and check it out. They have everything from volleyball, racquetball, basketball, a swimming pool and hot tub, and a whole lot more!
I started with the group Personal Training as soon as I joined...and - within 7 months, I was already seeing a difference in my endurance and physical self from when I first started and I've lost 20 pounds so far.
I do enjoy the classes because I like the people who do the classes with me. It is fun because we all encourage each other and challenge ourselves to do better every day.
Overall - I'm feeling healthier and better after doing these classes for so long. It's a physical therapy, as well as cognitive therapy for me.
Things that they could definitely improve on though is:
1) The sanitary stations are spaced out very few and far between.
2) Sinks aren't always maintained with soap. They can always use the soft-soap topped off every morning as well.
I usually have to play Musical Sinks in the men's locker room / bathroom before I ever find one that has soap in it.
If I were to ever walk inside there in the early morning hours, I would see right away that most of the evening cleaning crew don't do their jobs because it's usually not just one or two sinks - it's every other one. If TP or PT is needed - it's not just one dispenser - it's all of them.
If soaps are needed in the showers (there are 10 of them) - nearly every one of them is empty - not just one or two.
3) 90% of the lockers are all broken.
4) There are always exercise machines that are broken, or need service.
5) This place needs a complete douching top-to-bottom as it is also in need of extermination as a baby centipede was spotted in the locker room. My father is a retired exterminator so i'm quite familiar with it, and if there's a baby, there must be a family of them!
When Management was approached about this, it was just kinda blown off and not of any concern. This is totally uncalled for. So with sloppy janitorial duties, and lack of an exterminator - and ESPECIALLY in the covid era, these things should be a top priority!
6) Recently the club Management was approached about Discrimination in the workplace for an individual with a Disability. These concerns were quickly whisked away, and - even though that individual was doing a really nice job and getting a lot of praise from everybody there, they were still let go because they raised Discrimination concerns with Management.
Instead of taking the concerns of the disabled individual seriously, a phone call was received from an Upper Management person to tell that individual not to come back.
All of this could have been avoided had the individual with the concerns been taken seriously.
And all of this would have been avoided if a serious conversation was had between the disabled individual and management / HR.
Instead - lets get rid of that person! The craziest thing of all is that all the management wants that person to use them as references elsewhere. So why are they getting rid of that individual?
(It's because they didn't want the ADA involved - but again - had a serious conversation been had between Management and Disabled individual, the ADA would have been avoided).
This place is a total waste. It's a shame they didn't keep that person because the place was starting to look nice, and the locker room / bathroom was always clean by the time that individuals shift was over.
For anyone looking for a job - if you're disabled - you can expect to be discriminated against. None of the management here care about the club, or the employees that work in it. All of the leadership in this place need to be replaced.
This place doesn't even deserve to have 1 star.
However - Planet Fitness is very clean, and all the machines are well kept! None of the lockers are broken. There are many sanitary stations. Also - a free membership, and free personal training classes are a +. People (staff) are friendlier there and Management there are all good people.
I was hired here by logan under the premise that "the members have been biting at the bit for a trainer". Which was a blatant lie, like the entirety of my hiring and onboarding. I was told i would make so and so much money per hour and that my hybrid position was going "to give me ample earning potential". All of this was lies. The reason there hasnt been a trainer here for years is because there is no money at franklin mills/philadelphia mills, it is a dying gym with antiquated equipment. Being swept in to logans sales pitch it escaped me that he said i would be making a base salary7.50/hr... because well thats basically unheard of today. I was continually left out of morning meeting calls, because there was nothing to report daily, since there was zero need for a trainer there. I ate through my savings trying to persevere with these over priced traning sessions and infated memberships. Forcing people in to buyers remorse constantly. Working for this company had ruined my life, fiscally.
My favorite interaction with logan was the last two weeks, when he shuffled me blindly to three different gyms, to be trained by people that could care less, being as i was not hoing to be part of their gym staff. This was made most evident by the 4 days of "training" i was privy to at the cottman location, before being thrust in to a hybrid trainer/sales/membership aquisition role, needless to say i was unprepared to do successfully. Fast forward to my apparent being let go, not through performance review or a managerial process, no i was discreetly removed from the group chats and apps, then blatantly ignored by logan while trying to reach out to him to at the very least be informed of the changes to said situation. This was, and most likely will remain, the least professional i have ever been treated as an employee. The most decietful hiring and onboarding process, filled with misrepresented facts, i have personally experienced. And the single worst job i have had. Taking this job to follow my ambition was one of the worst choices i have made in my life.
So i would like to say thank you to la fitness, and logan for causing me to put my faith in them and subsequently be in the position i am currently in. Do not sign up for their trainingjikd, do not sign up to this gym, DO NOT TAKE A JOB WITH THIS COMPANY, one can give plasma and make as much money while still helping people, like the reason we got in to training in the first place, to help people, not be shuffled and finacially abused by an employer. I hope this helps others on their path. I may not finacially recover from this in any reasonable manner or time frame.

I am pregnant and at the time I had a personal emergency and found myself really needing to use the rest room. My bladder felt as if it was over filled and I decided to stop at LA Fitness located in west palm beach off of Military rd. Because I am a member with an active and paid for plan there even though I haven't been in to work out in a while. I had to go really bad so when I walked in I seen the front desk person busy speaking with someone and I proceeded past her walking straight toward the restroom. I did not sign in for the following reasons.(1)She was busy and the only one up there and I was only going to the back to use the restroom. (2)I did not need to use any equipment or anything else besides the restroom. (3) I knew i would have to go in my new phone and search for my membership in order to scan it and I reallllly had to go so I kept walking pass the front. I was a little ways pass the desk when she called from the front and stopped me yelling for me to come back. I explained to her what I needed to do and ask if there was a manager. She then stated she was a manager but didn't give her name. I asked her was there another manager I could speak with quickly that was above her and she pointed to a gentleman and said his name was "Paul" and he was a manager. He was seated right there beside where we were standing. I quickly told him the situation and i wrote my name down for them to try to find while I went. I explained I would come right back out and finish properly checking in. Paul agreed and said ok since it was an emergency. They held me up for about a good 2 mins which made my urge worst and before I could reach the RR I had a small accident. I had some tricking down my legs in the process. Since they have showers right there, I decided I would just rinse off in shower and go back out to sign in afterwards... it only took a second to go to the toilet and flush, wash my hands, and walk right there to a shower stall to jump in. I only had on a bathing suit cover with shorts. I would say Approximately 1 to 2 mins after I even reached the back I heard a woman's vc saying "MAM" "MAM" as soon as I turned on the shower. I didn't answer because I didn't know who they were talking to at first and then The front desk manager that I had met upfront came and pulled curtain back with her phone in her hand while I was showering. I was in complete shock. She said I had not scanned in and threatened to call the police. I snatched the curtain back and i explained that it was very rude what she had just done and that I was indeed a member and if she wanted to she and whomever else could call the police if they wanted to. She demanded I come up front and get out of the shower. I asked her 5 times what was her name but she refused to tell me. She stood there with her phone while I was naked... i was so nervous and ashamed that I could not even hurry up enough to get my phone out of my bag and record the situation. I hurried and put on my clothes and as she watched with her phone in her hand. When I threw my cover back on I purposely took my time to find my membership in my email on the phone to prove to her because she was speaking to me so rude. She left after maybe 5 mins of standing there and another girl came Bk and switched spots with her while I scrolled my email for my membership she so desperately needed to see. Finally I found it and walked to the front explaining to "Alia" the new lady what happened. She agreed it was a bit extreme. Alia told me her name was AJ. I made it to front and Alia scanned me in while "AJ" watched. Paul then walked over and said"U were bk there for a while"I noticed he didn't see her scan me in and still assumed I wasn't a member. I explained I would never ever step foot in another LA Fitness gym again. I called next day to get the name and contact of a regional manager but was refused by the same manager on the phone when I asked her name she said "AJ". If I have to post this on a 100 review sites I will. She violated me in so many ways. I hope my reviews reach the right individuals. Thank u

After dealing with Joan Vento of LA Fitness Pompano Beach , Fl 34062 Had to literally hire a shrink and a SprintCleaner just to rid me and my family nod her toxicity .. she’s the devil
It is frequently running out of towels – they told me today that the washer was broken. I asked the guy, so you only have one washer?.
On Saturday, August 14, there was a guy in the stepper with 2 long towels and 2 short towels – The number of towels by member should be limited to one of each, otherwise, do not guarantee towels when enrolling a new member. That's deceiving.
The family restroom was out of service because the toilet was clogged and it was full of crap all over the place last Saturday, August 21 st.
The toilet paper dispensers are broken and when you take a $#*!, you have to hold the paper with one hand.
In addition, the toilets are always dirty and full of crap. They compare to the portable potty of disgusting and stinking that they are.
Used towels, masks, underwear, empty bottles of shampoo and garbage all over the place in the lockers and showers.
The showers and floors of this gym have not seen a pressure washer in years. The soap dispensers are full of scum, the tiles, and floors with hair from razors for days, showers without light, bugs in the ceiling of the showers, the grouts of each shower are disgusting and full of germs.
At times, there are even 6 employees in the front desk laughing, bouncing a basketball when only one is needed and the other five can be cleaning and maintaining the facility because that is what I pay for. They are constantly on their phones, texting. LA should not allow their employees to text or listen to music on their phones. If they want to listen music, the gym has music playing constantly.
The gym offers a "Healthy" facility, towels, body soap, shampoo, conditioner, toilet and paper towel and equipment, all of that, in exchange for $39/month. Do people get a discount when we do not have these things constantly.
The doors of the stalls don't close and the frames are rusted making the door shake when you are trying to get some privacy doing your business. Good luck with that!

It was probably Saturday August 7th or 14th that the dispenser of paper towel next to the elliptical and treadmill machines by the trainers' area was empty. Employees were passing by, and no one had the decency of bringing a new roll. It has to be a member, called Mary, who went back and brought a freaking roll of paper towel and changed it by herself. That is not her jobs, but LA Fitness is charging her the monthly fee as usual. Several members including me went to the front desk and reported it the dispenser out of paper. The complaint went through and ear and got through the other ear.
I was member of Crunch for many years and every Saturday morning they were pressuring washing the showers and constantly changing the shower curtains. These are not even $2 in Walmart and the gym only have 10 showers. If you buy them in bulk, it's probably less than $1. Even in the Dollar Tree you can buy then for $1. But you guys are lazy and pigs. I am sorry for it is the true.
We are in the middle of a pandemic and many times there are not disinfectant spray bottles in the front desk. Before the lift of the masks and when the business came fully operational, these bottles were in the front desk all the time. Once this was a lifted, the gym stopped providing these bottles. After I complain, they started to put them out again but not as many as before.
Think twice if you do not want to get covid, an infection or any other health issue.

I was a member of LaFitness for a couple of years. I frequented 3 different locations during that time. Over time I got to know the management staff, training dept, cleaning crews, etc. Most were very friendly, some way too cocky. Turnover for employees was always high. As soon as you get comfortable with employees they can change.
All had varying degrees of cleanliness, machines were not consistent at locations, there were often breakdowns in the spas, pools, etc. Overall, my work out experiences were ok. However, over time it became very apparent management did not care about the perverts they hired in the Training Dept. I cannot count the times I either saw trainers perving on a female client, heard complaints from employees regarding training members and how they were uncomfortable being around a couple of them. One front desk worker had a trainer touch her chest without permission, later it came out this guy had a real attitude with humanity but loves ogling the clientele. The guy wasn't a good trainer, nor even acted like he cared about his job. He was there to scope flesh.
A female employee warned me about this trainer. Another male employee had negative things to say about the same trainer... I wish I would have listened. Upper management doesn't care. When I experienced my own horror story of having sessions, only to see the massive trainer having to walk away while he was supposed to be spotting me... because he had to control his pants. Enough is enough. There was another time a trainer was in the process of making a move and I stopped him in his tracks. This same trainer loved to drop hints about his political views. It was just odd, uncomfortable, inappropriate, but management doesn't care.
If upper management knows of sexual deviacy in their training dept, but doesn't take it seriously, that's not the place for me. Training has a medical, respect componant to it. We don't come to be ogled, handled, and in return, lose out on sessions we are due because trainers can't control their crotch.
Besides this, many employees often complained about LaFitness Corporate. They honestly treat their employees very poorly.
When Covid hit, LaFitness made this big deal about cleanliness, yet cut back on weekend cleaning and left a 6 hr gap from Sunday afternoons to Monday mornings. They are just ran very poorly. I won't be back.
Planet Fitness, Chuze Gyms, small local gyms... lots of options.
I'm reviewing the La Fitness in Edmonton, AB - 186th st. Nw location.
I went in two months ago to get a membership and start personal training. I sustained an injury and I had hoped that personal training would get me back on my feet. When I came in to look at the memberships everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, the manager for the trainers told me that I come first as the client, that they will make sure I am taken care of.
I am put with a trainer whom I enjoyed working out with, he was funny, friendly, and knowledgeable.
Well this past Sunday during our session I was informed that he had applied and did an interview for a different job. He told me at that time he didn't know if he got the job or not. I'm okay with that, if you found something you love to do and can do it, go for it. My mistake was expecting that this trainer and the manager of the trainers would conduct themselves professionally.
Boy was I wrong!
I get a call yesterday two hours before my scheduled session to tell me that my trainer wasn't feeling well. Okay no problem, then I was informed that yesterday was his last day. The information didn't quite hit me right away. Because someone who is a professional, a company who claims their clients are extremely important to them wouldn't pull such a bull ***t move.
No a professional would have given two weeks notice, that's what this trainer should have done. He should have given me two weeks notice, not two hours that he was leaving. THEN the manager should have insured that I was transitioned to another trainer with the same skill set so that it was seamless and I wouldn't miss any sessions.
Well, when the receptionists information sunk in I told her that I needed to speak with the manager to sort out my training situation. Because as of that moment, I have five months of personal training sessions and no trainer. I leave the message with my phone number and then I hear nothing back. So I go in today to sort things out, the manager shrugged his shoulders, he F**** shrugged his shoulders when I told him that I no longer have a trainer. He couldn't care less about the situation.
His response, "So pick another trainer."
I don't know any of these trainers, their skill sets! It's NOT my job as a client to pick a trainer! I told him that, he acted like I put him out, he set me up with a guy he said wasn't like the trainer I had but in a pinch he'll do.
No apologies, nothing, they conducted themselves in a highly unprofessional manner and they didn't care. If I wasn't tied into this damn place for the next five months I would drop them faster than a bad habit!
AVOID THIS GYM!
I have been a patron of LA Fitness (Brampton Ontaro) since it's opening many years ago. I was initially a member at "Bodyworks" Brampton which was taken-over by La fitness. My wife and myself both have memberships.
I've always heard members complain of the service at La Fitness. The complaints I've heard include: The company not honoring suspension notice, not honoring cancellation notice, account payment issues, bad customer service. We came and went without any major issues of our own. This all changed today.
Today Monday April 9th 2018, about 1030am, I went to La Fitness at Brampton / Airport for a workout. This would have been my third work on a comeback attempt, having been out of the gym for several months ( my account was being paid during these abscent months).
I was scanned in my the person at the desk "Mo" and walked in. I was called back by Mo, telling my that there was no telephone # on file and my info needed to be undated. I told him on my way out I'll get that done. He reply that I could not go in because because I had an NSF payment of $28 and could not go in to work out.
I told Mo that was not possible and I'll deal with it on my way out. He insisted that I return to the counter, telling me openly that my bill wasn't paid and I could not work out. I returned to the counter. I informed Mo that there must be some mistake because, I'm absolutely sure my payment account can handle a $28 payment. His manager who come over the the front counter informed my that my payment for Sunday April 8th 2018 was declined. I signed into my banking app and pointed out to them that there was no transactions recorded for April 8th. I told them I didn't have much time and they would have to wait until the bank posted Sunday's transactions to provide any information.
I then left the counter to proceed to my workout, "Mo" called me yelling 'pay our bills, you can't go in or he'll have to call the cops'. I told him to do what you have to and continues to the excerise bikes'.
A few minutes later, a gentleman who introduced himself as a VP, came to the bikes and ask me to see him after my workout to rectify my issue. I rode for 5 more, however was in no mode to workout. I left the gym and went directly to a nearby branch. I spoke to a bank official who printed out my statements Going back 8 months. There's was no NFS for LAF over that period. There was also no transactions yet processed for Sunday April 8th. I was also told by the bank that there must be something wrong on LAF's end because there was more that enough to cover $28.
I also took to printed statements back to LAF to show, no transactions was posted for $28. Spoke to the VP, he insisted that LAF had a very good systems and they don't make this types of mistakes. I told him making the mistake was not the issues. I told him, I felt insulted and humiliated by his customer service agent discussing personal information in public. Due to my history with LA Fitness, the simply thing to do was allow me to finish my workout and direct me to see an agent to privately discuss the issues. I told him, I didn't need to felt harassed about a $28 payment, he told me I was not being harassed, his agent Mo was only doing what he was trained to do...
TIME TO FIIND ANOTHER FITNESS FACILTY...
