Apologies in advance voice texting. Purchased a personal trainer contract many months ago within two months found out I was ill, have had two surgeries. My doctor wrote a letter stating that I was permanently disabled and unable to work out this weights or any exercise in that environment. Have sent all documentation to LA Fitness between five and eight times. Every time I speak with somebody they will pacify you act very concerned act very customer service oriented, it's all lies and delay tactics. One excuse was they couldn't print my doctor's note. My husband was a member for over 20 years and he will be going in this week to cancel is membership along with my standard membership. He has had multiple people added on during his 20 years of business. The director of our local LA Fitness has lied to us now corporate office has lied to us, and they have continued to charge my bank account even though I have a doctor's note and ever express to them I haven't been able to 20 months. If you have any desire to do any personal training or even just general exercise and fitness, I recommend going to any other company besides LA Fitness. Once they have your card number or checking account number they disregard any pertinent information regarding your file and charge the monthly fee without hesitation.
Fitness Center Fails to Disclose Lower Rates Available - I had a bad experience with LA Fitness Forest Lane Location in Dallas, Texas. They failed to disclose lower available rate and their web site offered no recourse.
I always wondered why this club had such bad reviews. Now I know. I've been training for a race Since the holidays and needed access to a swimming pool few times a week. Signed up at this club that is close to my house and paid all the fees and dues. It was fine for couple of weeks and all of the sudden their pool equipment broke and the it's been closed for over a week. I've tried several times and talked to folks including staff and managers and the answer I got was the vendor they are using to install the pump has been ghosting them! Can you believe a corporate gives you an answer like this?
I asked them why I'm paying while I can't use the service and their answer was that their membership fees are per club and they don't care about individual services such as swimming pool! Their customer service and level of arrogance is super bad and I haven't seen something like this before. I asked to speak with the regional VP and they refused to connect me or have someone who cares talk to me! I haven't seen a horrible customer service like this for a while and I'm genuinely disappointed. Please find yourself a different gym if you can.
If you want more stress in Your life please do business with lafitness.
The YMCA is a much better gym. Clean, Friendly and you can cancel your membership
Any time from any where.
CitiBank finally closed the dispute in my favor. Tooks months to finally get what was due to me. LA Fitness did not argue their case, screw LA Fitness. Stay away or this just might happen to you too.
Only took 3 months to get a membership cancellation on Wed, Sep 23,7:53 AM. I sent my original email on Tue, Jun 23,12:00 PM. Then hazard suited up to go to the location on July 21 to find that the manager "was at lunch." Got a call on my drive home which culminated in an 8 minute, 56 second discussion about my desire to cancel my membership amid his sales pitch. He finally acquiesced and said it was cancelled and I would get a notice via email in a few days. Guess it's my fault for believing him and not following thru to verify my membership was TRULY canceled.
I have been a member of 4 gyms over more than a decade and every one is more concerned with their bottom line than any individual. Thank you, LA Fitness, for hammering home that fact. I will find any other way to exercise, outside of a gym membership. I will never, ever go to a gym again. The $21.98 inappropriately taken from my account for July, August and September will serve as testament to why gyms are an extortionist practice. I will be posting these very comments anywhere that leaving a review is an option. Have a nice day.
Someone steal my brand new shoes from men changing area, amada is general manager and she is totally useless, don't know who hire here, she need to learn costumer services
I signed up in January/February for personal training, right before COVID. I was informed at time of signing that I could cancel the membership after 6 months without any issues. Initially I went to the gym I signed up to and they could not help. They suggested that I contact the customer services, I called many times and finally got through on 8/3/2020 after being on hold for 43 minutes and they proceeded to inform me I could only either suspend my account for two months or pay half in order to get out of it. I explained that I am facing reduced hours at work, and unable to keep up with payments. Also I was told when I initially joined that I could cancel after 6 months. Also I do not feel like it's safe to go into any gym right now. She forwarded my information to the VP of Personal training in my area named Miles who was also unhelpful and told me the same thing. He then hung up on me during the call and told me to contact him when I decide what I want to do based the two options he gave me. I just want to warn others and let you know to be aware of what a scam this gym is before you sign up for anything with them
Do not sign up with LA Fitness, they will charge you an annual fee even when the gym is closed due to the pandemic and you do not actually use it for one year. They also unfreeze your account and keep charging your credit card and when it declines they charge you a fee for every attempt, and they keep ringing it up to boost the amount of money they make from the declined card. They will cancel the account without paying off the fee so they just keep stealing money until you can pay it or go into bankruptcy. Local club managers claim they can't do anything and just tell you to come back with another card and head office tells you to go to the club and deal with the manager so the customer is just a ping pong ball getting passed back and forth while everyone washes their hands of the problem. They basically hold you hostage and refuse to let you go until you pay them off, but if you don't pay them off they just keep charging you like a loan shark. Go to any other gym to stay clear of LA Fitness. I will be making a complaint with the ministry of government and consumer services and with the better business Bureau and continue to post what kind of thievery they call a business that they're running.
I came back to my aerobics classes in the water after covid and they keep canceling the classes frequently within good reasons and also without informing people on their website! Very unprofessional!
La fitness make it so hard for you to cancel your personal training but to sign up for it was so easy, bad staff, and always trying to trick people for their money
They do a very poor job, taking care of this place keeping it clean the hot tub is enough. The temperature in the pool is not up to temperature
Dishonor and showers I filthy dirty in the state sauna
DO NOT SIGN UP FOR PERSONAL TRAINING FROM LA FITNESS.
LA Fitness facilities are OK but their Personal Training is a major ripoff. They charge major bucks for training and then pay the trainers next to nothing. As a result trainers leave with high regularity. In 6 months we had 4 different trainers with large gaps in between while LA Fitness searched for replacements. We ended up receiving only half of the promised training and LA fitness refused to issue any refund.
LA FITNESS PERSONAL TRAINING SCAMS THE CLIENT AND THE TRAINER.
My name is Justin, and I am a disabled Army veteran. I signed up for a gym membership and personal training. A couple weeks after signing up, I was hospitalized due to some medical issues and diagnosed with a condition that wouldn't allow me to workout for the foreseeable future. Upon discharge from the hospital, I contacted LA Fitness corporate office and emailed them a doctor's note saying I couldn't work out until my diagnosis cleared. They rejected this note as it wasn't specific enough. LA Fitness told me it needed to say at least 6 months that I couldn't workout. I got another note that specifically said no working out for 6 months, but again they rejected it. This time, they told me it had to say I couldn't work out indefinitely. Currently in the waiting process for receiving my third note from the doctor. DO NOT sign up for personal training contracts at this gym. If you ever need to get out of it for whatever reason, they will screw with you and do everything they can to keep you under contract. Also, they absolutely refused to refund me for the month I was unable to use. LA Fitness does not care about their customers, only lining their pockets. They treated my medical issues like a joke. The personal trainer I had at my gym tried telling me I should just keep coming to the gym and doing light workouts, completely disregarding my doctor's orders. I explained to him my situation over text message and he completely ignored me; no response whatsoever. The trainers also do not care about your well being. DO NOT use this gym. Awful business.
I workout at 3 locations in south King Co WA (Federal Way, Kent & Tukwila) due to where I live and work
Each gym has a different layout, available equipment to some extent and vibe based on the management overseeing the club. Maintenance of equipment overall is sporadic overall. Some machines can have signs "scheduled for maintenance" and be repaired fairly quickly while others can go longer than 7 months and the sign laterally be falling off but nothing will be done. It is not uncommon for high turnover of staff at these 3 locations, front desk employees are often late if they are opening the gym over and over again. If as a member you call the 800 number to report issues at a club you will never get a call back or email and it's doubtful anything you're contacting the club over will improve or be addressed. LA Fitness in the greater Seattle area has become the few choices available for people interested in weight training, most other options have either closed their doors or been bought out by LA Fitness. The lack of choices available in the area is known by LA Fitness, I'm sure it adds to their lackluster attitude. I've been a member of LA Fitness for 15 years now and at one time long ago it was a much nicer kept gym to workout at but you won't find that experience anymore.
Not worth it, LA FITNESS personal training way too expensive, force you to sign up contract, no good trainer, no good equipment, you might get only 15 minutes of training from 30 minutes work out, they keep on changing trainer, all equipment dirty, dirty matts, machine sound too much noise, and if you complain you not getting proper training they will put you with very tough triner who will make you exercise that you can not showup for week to get training, dont fall for contract dont go LA fitness
My review is for LA Fitness at ******* W BELLFORT ST. I had been going for almost a year and watched this decline very quickly.
First of all I noticed the cleanliness was getting really bad from trash in the steam room to hair in every shower all around the drain and on the walls. Empty shampoo and conditioner bottles to empty water bottles. The place is a mess. People come into the spa and sit in the sauna and steam room fully clothed with outdoor shoes on. Not sanitary at all. Multiple times I had to tell the staff about the mess in the women's changing room, but they didn't seem to care. When you actually walk into the gym you rarely got a "hello" or "Good Morning" and when you did it felt like it was disingenuous.
What finally did it for me was that one day after a spa I went for shower, there was thick black hair in every shower and even a tooth. I stopped using the spa and thought maybe I would just use the treadmills instead.
The treadmills are filthy and the floors around them are unkept. Even when I pointed this out to the manager, he said he knew they were dusty, however as I pointed out it wasn't just the dust it was the sweat stains and trash also on them. I would spend a good 10-15 mins cleaning my treadmill before I could even start. I would watch people come and go beside be person after person running and sweating and nobody wiping down their machine.
I spoke to the Manager about my concerns and although he was very nice he also seemed disingenuous, and nothing changed. I started to dread coming to the gym, it made me lose the passion for working out, so in the end I cancelled my membership.
At la fitness in 1980 E Osceola prwy kissimmee fl,
Incomprehensible, in some areas you have to wear masks and in others not, it is the same gym, additionally the very poor service and the first in a very poor service is your manager Marcela,, a poor quality service
L A fitness, is one of the best gym I ever been to is people friendly very clean the ventilation of the gym is excellent very spacious I will recommended to families and friends
Many customers have been dissatisfied with the fact that LAF frequently switches trainers on clients, in general, without notice. They also complain of billing issues for training paid by the session or on monthly basis. These issues cause a lot of stress and many managers refuse to "make things right ". Also, poor billing practices during Covid. Training packages may look attractive cost-wise but can actually be the most costly! I signed up for a training package to get in shape faster but found I enjoyed their classes and didn't need them. The sales people told me not to worry because they would be available at any point until I cancel my membership (in case I changed my mind!). I made three inquiries, telling them I worried about the small print on my contract. Each time I was told the same thing. Don't worry. When I downloaded my app, I saw there were no training sessions available. Customer service by email referred me to my local gym. The local gym manager was downright rude when I pressed for an answer as to why they refused to refund my account. Apparently, my $1500 investment was only one of many complaints of the same nature. READ THE SMALL PRINT CAREFULLY AND DON'T LISTEN TO ANYONE ELSE! I hope this saves at least one person from this dreadful outcome.
LA Fitness has a rating of 1.2 stars from 104 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with LA Fitness most frequently mention personal training, customer service and front desk. LA Fitness ranks 75th among Gym sites.
