I purchased a book with expedited shipping to ensure my book would arrive on time. However, on the last day the book should have been delivered at my home I received an email saying there was a delay. My order wasn't even at the warehouse therefore wouldn't be shipped until unknown notice. When contacting them for an estimated time of arrival the response was my order was canceled. I was left having to find alternative places to purchase my book with very few time left before class. Please do not order! The service was dreadful.
There were no issues and everything was worked our smoothly.
It was very simple and easy to use. Plus, I got my package!
This was a nightmare trying to purchase just one book. I changed my address in my account and purchased the item, then when I received a confirmation email it said it was shipping it to my old address (where I DONT have access too) so that was a great start. I contacted someone and they basically told me I was SOL. So I had to go through the post office and eventually picked it up and sent it back. I tracked my package and saw that it had arrived to their facility. I didn't get any confirmation that it was there and checked my bank account after 3-5 days to see if I got a refund. It's been over a week and still no refund. I contacted someone via chat because their email help desk is a JOKE. They told me then when my refund was processed in my bank account, but it wasn't the full amount because they take 10%. MAYBE TELL PEOPLE THAT. Such a shame because I used this website for years and had no issue. Count me out when using this website again.
I wish there was a way to rate 0 stars. I ordered 3 books and paid for expedited shipping so I would have my books before classes started. I did recieve 2 of my books but the 3rd is MIA. I have repeatedly emailed knetbooks and have recieved no response. Will not be using this service again.
Returned a textbook in timely fashion and spent $15 on box & packing. Checked my bank account 3 weeks later and saw a $300 charge from KNETBOOKS! They claim the spine was damaged! It was fine when I sent in via UPS. Seems like a scam to me. Textbook has been used a few times and they bang the last renter for replacement so they can continue renting ON MY DIME! Horrendous company. DO NOT USE!
Got one star because I had to pick one...
I ordered my Spanish book to include access to Supersite. Upon receipt I opened the book and the envelope with the access code to Supersite. Code did not work. Discovered that the code I needed was for Supersite Plus. I spoke with Knetbooks and was advised to return for refund. In the meantime I had to purchase the book and the proper code at a cost of $218. A few weeks later I contacted Knetbooks only to find out that I could not receive ANY money back because the envelope and the book had been opened. There was no way I could have known that I had the wrong site code without opening the site code envelope. So in addition to having to shell out $218 for the right code and book, I am out $70.99 for the wrong stuff I received from knetbooks. Do yourselves a favor and just get your books from your school bookstore. Most if not all of them now rent textbooks.
The seller could not fulfill the order and cancelled the order, but gave me a refund except for $0.99 processing fee. I emailed them and they did refund the remaining $0.99, but I shouldn't have to email to get a full refund when it was the seller's fault for listing a book that is not available. It should have been an automatic full refund.
After ordering the book expedited shipping, I never received it. After the date was due to arrive I checked the order status. It said the order was still processing. I messaged the company. I later learned they did not even have the book in their warehouse. I then cancelled my order but was still charged the expedited shipping fee, for a book the company does not even have available to deliver. So bascially, I was charged over $25.00 for the experience or ordering a book for them, trying to figure out why it never came, and then cancelling my order.
I ordered a book for class and even though they advertised having it, they couldn't deliver. And they never informed me that they couldn't get the book. Only positive is that they did refund my money.
It's my first time to use this web. Last year I used Amazon to rent book. I feel very lucky to find the book new published from knet web. And I received the history book quickly. I satisfied the service.
DO NOT USE KNETBOOKS. I followed all the instructions and returned my textbook before the deadline. UPS seems to have lost the textbook. I got in contact with UPS to submit a claim and they said that I cannot submit a claim - only Knetbooks can as the seller. Apparently this is a restriction that Knetbooks has placed on the return through UPS.
I tried to get in touch with Knetbooks through the contact form on their website (there is no number you can call) and they never responded. Instead, they went ahead and charged me the full "list" price for the book, plus I paid the initial fee to rent the book, so I'm now out $400+ and I don't even have the textbook anymore to resell. I've submitted another request to get in contact with them today.
TLDR: no response from customer support team, but they went ahead and charged me 300 for a book I already returned. I will never use Knetbooks again.
It was super great I got my order and it was the best thing ever because they didn't scam me and it was really cheap <3
I ordered a book from knetbooks on 8/15. Received a cancellation notice on 8/16 stating knetbooks couldn't find a supplier of the book I ordered. The order number on the order confirmation and order cancellation emails are different numbers. Then on 8/22 I receive a "delivery confirmation email" about my order from sitejabber.com. At this point I'm confused, I never received a book… I'm confused about the different order numbers. One order number which was cancelled and the other that thinks the book was delivered.
Book in excellent condition, quick shipping, very pleased with purchase
I ordered 2 books! And just arrived ONE! And another one not even ship yet! And I contact them with live chat and ask when their going to mail if not I want cancel it! They said they will email me! And I just got the email said it's going to delay didn't tell me about how long I will get my another book! And I try to cancel the order they don't let me! And call them wait for above 30 min no one answer! Because I didn't get my text book I didn't get my 2 quizs full piont! If I'm not pass this class, I can't graduate this semester, I going to sue!
Hi Andrea,
Can you please DM us your order number? I'd be happy to take a further look into this. We're very sorry your experience has resulted in negative feelings and we want to work to resolve the issue.
Thank you,
Kate
I ordered a rental book called Constitutional Law and Criminal Justice System. What I received was a Xerox copy, 3-hole punched, unbound, with the Cengage Learning logo on the bottom of the first page. They started the email string by saying that I received what I ordered, however I could return it and they would refund my money. I have contacted Cengage yet to see if what they sent me was a pirated copy or not. Sending a xerox copy when I ordered a book seems sketchy in the first place. When I emailed them that what I wanted was what I ordered, a book, they told me they didn't have any of the books I needed and I could send them back their copy. I guess they wanted to re-rent the xerox copy to someone else. At any rate, the burden is on me to find another book, order it, then return the rented xerox to Knetbooks. I'm sorry, I don't find that solution helpful and I wonder about the ethics of a company that sends xeroxed copies out without telling the buyer what they are getting.
Paid almost $40 to rent a book. Returned the book ON TIME. They emailed me to say there was damage to the book (I returned the book for my son, it was fine). They then told me I owed them another $47 to BUY the book. I paid them and asked for the book back and then they proceeded to tell me since I didn't pay the ADDITIONAL $10 the day before, they "recycled" the book. Wish I had done more research I would have seen this is s sketchy company! Don't waste your money... rent from somewhere else!
Low quality. The book never arrived or even shipped.
Answer: Infinity, because you will never receive it. And if you do receive it, it comes damaged and then when you try to return your rental that try saying the original damage is your fault and charge you a ridiculous price for a small damage that had already come with it. Or sometimes several pages are missing.
Answer: Hi Tatum, We do allow some highlighting in our rentals but we ask that you dont highlight excessively. If you return the rental back to us with over one-third of the text highlighted, we may have to mark the book as damaged. Highlighting can be distracting for future renters and we may not be able to add an overly-highlighted book back into our inventory. Consider using page flags to mark an important sentence. Flags can help you easily get back to the page you need. Page flags are also small enough that they can be used multiple times on the same page. Plus, they are really easy to remove from the textbook before you send it back at the end of the semester. Let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you!
Kipp,
I want to work with you to find a resolution for this issue. Please provide me with your order number so I can help you.
Thank you so much,
Kate
