I ordered a rental book called Constitutional Law and Criminal Justice System. What I received was a Xerox copy, 3-hole punched, unbound, with the Cengage Learning logo on the bottom of the first page. They started the email string by saying that I received what I ordered, however I could return it and they would refund my money. I have contacted Cengage yet to see if what they sent me was a pirated copy or not. Sending a xerox copy when I ordered a book seems sketchy in the first place. When I emailed them that what I wanted was what I ordered, a book, they told me they didn't have any of the books I needed and I could send them back their copy. I guess they wanted to re-rent the xerox copy to someone else. At any rate, the burden is on me to find another book, order it, then return the rented xerox to Knetbooks. I'm sorry, I don't find that solution helpful and I wonder about the ethics of a company that sends xeroxed copies out without telling the buyer what they are getting.
