Friendly advice, at all cost, avoid buying an airline ticket via Kiwi.com. This agency is filled up with thieves & liars. They stole over $1,500 USD from me.
Kiwi.Com is a Czech-based company that has been ripping off Kiwis for awhile now. We were initially attracted to their supposed cheap fares and when we finally totalled up all their charges, taxes, fees and extras it almost doubled the price. Adding insult to injury, they managed to assign my passport number to my partner and when we tried to correct this we were charged another 20 Euros. There are a number of legitimate NZ and US discount airflight providers that offer genuine discounts - Kiwi.Com is not one of them and we would advise people to give them as miss.
I assume any positive review of this company is fakecheck other websites. NEVER buy a ticket on kiwi.com--they are completely fraudulent. When I made a booking through Kiwi.com, there was only one baggage purchase option available for 15 kg, which I purchased. There was NO other purchase option for a larger bag on the website or at any time after, which would be available if you bought from the airline. When I arrived at the airport, Easyjet charged me 90 Swiss Francs for my bag because it was 5kg beyond the limit (had I been informed of any issue in advance or that there was no way to pay the normal difference in fee, I would simply have brought a carry on bag, which easily would have fit 5kg).
The employee at Easyjet check in, Ehsan, and his manager, Suzanna, refused to wave or reduce the fee. But Ehsan directly admitted that Easyjet knew there was a problem with the Kiwi website and that many customers had complained, but "not enough" for Easyjet to bother to do anything about it. He admitted explicitly there was no other way to purchase the larger baggage option on the Kiwi website (you would have to know you need to download an Easyjet app, and then use the app, which is not an option ever disclosed). Eshan also said I could have bought two bags at 15kg, which is absurd, as there is no way to know that Easyjet would allow you to combine them for single bag, and also would have been more expensive than the larger bag option which was never made available.
This is the legal definition of fraudit means Easyjet is allowing or encouraging Kiwi to sell its tickets in a fraudulent manner so it can charge passengers exorbitant amounts at check in and Kiwi.com is defrauding countless customers. Kiwi.com's response was beyond fraudulent--it didn't even address the issue, its website, the information I was given, nothing. This company is a fraudulent enterprise.
Booked a flight in April for June. Cancelled with 1 week notice. Had to rebook an expensive last minute ticket. Waiting for a refund since June. Seems unlikely.
I tried to book a flight and the website said that my credit card was NOT processed, so I booked a different flight with a different credit card. Then, I received the booked confirmation and my credit card was charged. So now I am paying twice for my one flight. I tried contacting the support email and just get automated emails back telling me to file for a refund - okay, but it doesn't look like I am going to get any money back and I will have to pay the handling fee.
My experience of Kiwi, when I had a connection problem, is as follows:-
Pathetically slow and inadequate.
They are cynical Scammers.
They are unconscionable Liars.
Avoid Kiwi at all times.
Total scam. Never use them they sold me a ticket that does not exist and i was literally stucked in the airport with no ticket. What a terrible experience.
I booked a flight in NZ traveling from NZ to Aus. I booked on kiwi.com and was charged in US Dollars. WHAT!? They were not helpful. Totally deceitful. Bad website.
Booked a flight on 8/16 only to find out that I wasn't allowed to check a bag, canceled within 1 minute. Was given the cancellation amount (less their fees) via email, and was told it would take 30 days. Followed up on refund today 9/19, was told that the email was only advising "what" they would be refunding me "if" i decided to cancel. The request a refund AND cancellation feature is the same link... when I try to also "cancel" it says I already initiated a refund request on 8/16... hot hot garbage.
Do NOT book. Lost over $300 because of their inadequacy as a company to contact customers about refunds. My flight was cancelled due to a typhoon and I requested a refund for both my flight to Taipei and my returning ticket because it was now invalid. Did not hear back until it was after the flight and they said they refused to refund. If that was the case, why didn't they tell me sooner so I could reschedule it for a later date or contact the airline myself. A terrible middleman and incompetent customer service assistance. I get a new agent with every response to my email.
Needed to book a flight the next day and obviously had only very expensive options but Kiwi.com really saved me there.
I BOOKED A RETURN FLIGHT WITH THEM, BUT ONLY ONE WAY WAS ACTUALLY BOOKED, THE WAY BACK TO THE DESTINATION WAS NEVER ACTUALLY BOOKED. I HAD TO BUY A SECOND TICKET. NEVER TRUST OR BUY TICKEYS FROM THEM
Kiwi FAILED to actually book us on our flights, and due to the company's mess up we were unable to get onto the flights we were scheduled for - the airline did not even have us in the passenger manifest. Additionally, Kiwi ignored our several calls and help chats on the day of. Instead, we were forced to schedule emergency flights out of Copenhagen or be stuck there.
I received an email from Kiwi.com stating my refund is on its way in the amount of $451.81.
Our flight from London to San Francisco was delayed by 2 hours which caused my family of four (including my two children, 7 and 14) to miss the connecting flight from San Francisco to Portland. Kiwi.com representative ensured that we can purchase a new ticket and we will be reimbursed to that amount. That amount was $1543 for the same-day ticket. After submitting all documents promptly I waited patiently for their response. Nothing for three weeks (they promise to process refunds within 10 days on their website), I sent another email asking for an update and then they agreed to pay me 1/3rd the amount. There was zero assistance offered at the airport if you need help, it takes forever to identify what is their customer service number and then when you finally speak to their representative, you cannot trust by what they say... I was promised a full refund on the urgent ticket I had to endure purchasing only to realized weeks later and after several follow-ups that it was not true. Do your self a favor and steer clear of kiwi.com. It may be cheap and luring to buy, it will potentially cause a lot of trouble at the back end. Do not learn it the hard way.
I booked a ticket from Mexico City, Mexico to Boise, Idaho, USA, with a plane change in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. KIWI.com allowed 1-hr between landing in Nevada and leaving for Idaho. Because I was traveling internationally, after landing in Nevada, I had to go through customs and take a bus to another terminal - those activities require extra time. The time allowed by KIWI.com was insufficient and I missed my flight to Idaho!
When I use a company to book a flight, the expectation is that they will take care of the details (such as providing sufficient time when traveling internationally!). Also, I had to buy a $400 USD ticket with another airline to make it to my final destination. Because the airline that KIWI.com had used, did not have another available flight for 4 days!
When I asked KIWI.com to reimburse my fee (for their error) - they laughed in my face.
This company will never be successful. Just awful!
I bought a ticket to Sofia Bulgaria from Frankfurt, the cost of the tickets was 243 euros, i paid with Paypal and then after several hours i didn't get my ticket but an email saying that my reservation needed to have a payment confirmation procedure, which is regular in case of credit card payments not Paypal. After asking for a refund, which they made very hard to do to gain time, they send me the tickets, which i cancelled because i had to buy due to emergency to a different provider which was the same airline, which provide me with cheaper tickets by the way and paid thru Paypal. When i asked for my refund they refunded me 27.63 euros!, and they said it was the airline policies. All this process in general took less than 5 hours! So its clearly a scam website. Be aware of it!
The worst company. They charged me double and never "found" my reservation. I'm out double the cost of the ticket with no ticket.
Purchased a ticket. Canceled it a few hours later. Under the US rule, they should have fully reimbursed me. They didn't and they even mocked me over the phone.
Avoid them seriously.
A very dangerous agency to book a travel arrangement with. You may end up been stranded in a strange country with no way to travel out. This agency does not follow any duty of care to check if the tickets it sells are valid to use in all circumstances which means you may well be booking a ticket you can not use with no course to a refund or alternative travel. For example I crossed to Egypt by land border and purchased a one way ticket back through Kiwi.com only to be refused passage by the airline due to travel rules which means you must fly out of Egypt via the same airport. The airline told me Kiwi.com must have warned about these rules when booking as they are obliged by law; but they did not! This one way ticket can still be purchased on Kiwi.com leaving more people stuck in Egypt possible vulnerable people! I checked the airline booking page direct and sure enough the warning is there but not when you book through Kiwi.com BeWARE this agent is a cowboy operation and you may well be caught out in a strange country or lose your holiday due to a rule displayed on the airline site but kiwi.com fails to display
This reply from Kiwi.com specks for itself they will not hold themselves responsible for anything so you are BEST ADVISED to go to the airline site directly and book with them to insure your ticket will be valid as KIwI.com have invalid tickets for sale without any warning till you are refused passage at distant airports. And as you can see from there response they do not care and have no intention of addressing the dangerous issue
My name is Youssef, I am contacting you as a Customer Relations Advisor from Kiwi.com regarding your booking *******. Your Trustpilot feedback was brought to my attention and therefore, I have gone through your reservation to investigate the issue.
We are sorry to learn that you are dissatisfied with our services. We would like to let you know that it is the passenger responsibility to investigate any travel restrictions or any immigration rules of the country you're traveling from or to. Kiwi.com offers valid flights on its search and we are under no obligation to advise you if your travel circumstances are admissible to take the flight or not. It is rather impossible for any travel agency to provide case specific reasons if someone can take the flight or not. I am afraid, it is your responsibility to do that and Kiwi.com is not to be blamed for any travel restrictions.
Thank you for your understanding.
Best wishes.
Youssef

Kiwi.com.
There are so many problem caused by kiwi. Com that I can't tell everything, just that there are too many lies and to many problems I had because they give no service at all. I lost all my connections, they lied about alternatives offered because they don't even know the basics about fligh connections, i. E. that flights are closed at least 25 minutes before departing, they didn't answer the phone when I needed, didn't paid hotel because they said there was no need, despite I had to wait 24 hours and offered only reimburse 10 dollars! Only my telephone bill because of this, left waiting over the phone instead of calling me, was USD$500.00 (calling from India where I was left!). PLEASE NEVER USE KIWI.COM, IS A TOTAL SCAM, you save nothing. I only regret I didn't know this in advance!
Answer: I have reserved 7 flight through Kiwi with Spirit Airlines. Within 24 h I realised that I made a mistake on the flight date. I made a change and saw that Kiwi wanted to charge for both flights. When I told them I thought I could be reimbursed, they told me to go through the refund process on their website. I did. Just to make sure, I called Spirit and explained the issue. They said that they would fully reimburse Kiwi because the change was make within 24 h and it was an american law. Today, I received the answer for my refund request and Kiwi said they could not get reimbursement from the airline and I would have to pay double. When I tried to reach them to tell them there had to be another way, all of their contact information on their website was 'temporarily unavailable'. I feel like they have stolen from me.
Answer: I am sorry you are going through this, I checked but can't seem to find a record of it either
Answer: Kiwi makes money from air flight cancellations and mistakes they make because They will refund nothing! I even bought add on insurance. That doesn't prevent them from dismissing it will all sorts of unreasonable misdirection. They have no right to operate and be so big... at the expense of poor unfortunate customers who spend their hard earned money to travel. The give the aviation industry a really bad name.
Answer: There is no doubt that Kiwi.com is a scam. If you want to get your money back, then email the US Department of Transportation (douglas dot e dot davis at dot.gov) and CC the CEO of Kiwi.com (oliver dot dlouhy at kiwi.com), the Vice-President of Customer Services (Petra dot Reiter at kiwi.com), and the head of customer servcies for the EU (anna dot cavazzini at europarl.europa.eu) Good luck and do not use them again.
Answer: Because people don't know and they offer cheap flights.
Answer: Kiwi.com are crooks and charlatans. Avoid them. Dispute the charges with your bank if you can, and then spend 30 minutes online piling bad reviews till they are out of business.
Answer: Booking service... and a bad one on the market. Outrageous and not responsable to their customers
Answer: Yes call them threat them that you will sue them and also tell your credit card company that they made a mistake and are not owning to it. Get screenshots of everything including your calls to kiwi. Ask them for a voucher and on other hand contact your credit card to file a dispute.
