I booked a flight to return home from Barcelona to NYC after a family vacation. Two weeks before I was emailed that the flight time had been changed. 24 hours before our departure I received an emailed that the flight had been canceled. I tried calling them to no answer. The Airline did not answer either. I was stuck in Barcelona with my family finally to get home I had to buy new tickets thru another airline. I had to request a refund thru my credit card company. Kiwi offered me a company credit of 94 Euros and to get a bigger refund I had to pay them... PLEASE STAY AWAY... YOU WILL LOOSE MORE THAN WHAT YOU SAVE...
Booked $180 worth of flights through this website. 2 days after 1 flight was canceled and the other one was rescheduled. They did not provide a refund and the website was very misleading. The only options were to rebook with them for MORE money after they gave me a $15 credit from the $180 I paid for (What a joke!). Customer service is useless. You get a new customer service rep every time you message them and they copy and paste the response. They promised to give me more credit which was not provided. They promised assisted refund from the airline but no updates at all. THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUD. THEY SCAM PEOPLE! THEY PROFIT FROM SCAMMING PEOPLE. I wished I read their reviews before booking with them.
DON'T BOOK ANY... ANY FLIGHTS WITH KIWI.
BOOK RETURN FLIGHTS FROM MBJ TO LONDON... TICKETS HAD THE WRONG MONTH... UNABLE TO CONTACT KIWI NY PHONE... SENT NUMEROUS MESSAGES THROUGH THE SITE... RECEIVED AUTOMATED EMAILS... KIWI REFUNDED £57... 30 DAYS LATER FROM A SUM OF £1900...
Though it took some time. Earlier I was tottaly dejected with my experience with Kiwi.com.
But later kiwi.com fully refunded my amount which I really appreciated.
So all was well that ended well.
Booked flights through Kiwi on 13th February to fly from Chiang Mai to Krabi on 1st March.
26th February, Kiwi tell me my flight schedules have changed and I have to pay more money for the new flight or cancel my trip and get a refund of the flights.
This left me with the current situation:
1. Pay more money for a flight I did not change
2. Cancel the flight and lose ******* baht (as of this date $774.90) on the accommodation I booked.
There is no consideration as to whether someone can even pay this extra charge out of nowhere.
Naturally I paid the extra to keep my holiday.
When I asked customer service for a refund as I didn't change the date and it's totally out of my control, they said no because they did not change the flight.
But I'm not allowed to speak to the airline because Kiwi managed the booking.
When I asked the customer service employee on the phone if Kiwi made money off the extra transaction I had to pay or lose my trip, he confirmed yes they take a cut.
Don't use Kiwi.
They are happy to accept payment to manage bookings, but they're not actually going to take responsibility if anything goes wrong and you also cannot approach the airline once you make the booking through their platform.
Their customer service told me they cannot do anything. And they just hide behind their T&Cs.
I feel so let down and cheated.
Hi! Let me tell you how I got scammed by Kiwi. This company should be sued, and I have no idea how they are still in business. I booked five flights with them with Ryanair. Instead of receiving Ryanair reservation numbers I received their own Kiwi reservation numbers. That means they do online check in for you. On the Ryanair site you have an option to bring 2 Cabin Bags from 8 each max 10kg each bag. On Kiwi site they did not even provide that information. All they provided is option to book a 20kg bag. So instead of paying 8 for my 10kg bag I had no other option but to select up to 20kg bag fee. For all my five flights I paid $250 dollars. When I called them to let them know they don't have an option for 10kg carry on luggage they responded that everything is already paid for and there will be no correction or refund. Again they do not even provide you with the reservations so you can purchase everything directly on the airline site that you're flying. They do everything for you but they don't even give you an option to pay the carry on price for your under 10kg bag. When I sent them a complaint email they auto responded with irrelevant information. So, instead of paying 40 for my carry on bag 5 flights, I paid $250 dollars.
I bought a ticket via kiwi.com from the USA to Germany with Carrier Iberia Airlines Operated by British Airways, the price per outbound country shows the ticket allowed 1 x 23 kgs checked-in bag, 1 x cabin bag (25x45x25cm) and 1 x handbag/laptop (40x30x15 cm). Outbound as well as Inbound. But the same train has a transit to Heathrow London before heading to Dusseldorf (Germany). When buying a ticker, we are buying from the departing country to the destination. Arrived in London, and the connecting flight was with Eurowings, which surprisingly requested another payment for both (checked and cabin) bags, saying that their flight charges money separately since the ticket I bought didn't have checked and cabin bags allowed. That means on the same flight booked originally with the main carrier (Aberia operated by British Airway), we have to pay two different airlines' different language fees. When I called them to explain what was going on. The customer service agents were horrible and the manager who had scheduled a call back after 4 hrs first and was rescheduled later after 2 hrs finally came to the phone, still came with words without sympathy or acknowledging their traps, and never understood my points. Saying the same thing over and over. Pointing to read all the disclosures and terms of the booking confirmation. I will never recommend this website or company to anyone to use, their ticket may seem to be cheap, please double check, It may cost you more in the end than buying straight from the Airline.
TL; DR - Don't use these guys. They do a ton of shady stuff and try to hold your money hostage. If you are in the US and need a refund, use the BBB complaint page https://www.bbb.org/us/fl/miami/profile/travel-agency/kiwicom-inc-*******2676/complaints
Booked a trip through them in February. Price got raised on my tickets out of nowhere and I then had to cancel due to some schedule changes. Requested a refund and got told by a rotating group of messengers (which by the way is a terrible way to do it as they had no idea what was going on previously) that it would take 90 days and they would contact the airline. I had read reviews so I knew some of the shady stuff they pull and called the airline to cancel the booking myself. After getting an email confirmation from the airline of a full refund I had to again go through a rotation of messengers to drill home the point that all they had to do was send me back my money. After a few months and no follow up, I launched a complaint on their BBB site (https://www.bbb.org/us/fl/miami/profile/travel-agency/kiwicom-inc-*******2676/complaints) and within 2 weeks I had my money back. DO NOT USE THEM EVER.
DO NOT BOOK THROUGH KIWI!
I bought a "unique" ticket to Amman, with an extra segment to take a flight from Amman to Cairo. My e-ticket said that my final destination was Amman. I go to the airline's desk to check in, only to know that the information provided to the airline by Kiwi said that my final destination was Cairo and that I had to meet the Covid entry requirements for Cairo, and not Amman. I had to book another flight through the airline.
And of course, Kiwi did not own up to this and said that it is non-refundable for no valid reason!
If I could rate this zero, I would. I have had an absolutely HORRIBLE time with this company. After booking for a bachelorette months in advance, we received a message that there was a 7 hour delay, which does not work with the schedule. I called and the first agent was not able to change anything without any fee, despite the fact that it was such a drastic time difference. I asked to be connected to a manager, and there was no manager on. 40 minutes down the drain. Since, I've called at least 5 times to which there has NEVER been a manager. Each time I've been told that a manager would call me back and they never did. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional and non-empathetic airline in my LIFE. The kicker—other girls on the trip who purchased the same ticket were able to get their flights changed at NO cost. The same ticket plan as mine.
At this point, I need to cancel for a full refund as this has ruined the trip. I won't even be there for the bachelorette timing needed as we're staying 2 hours away from the airport and therefore need to transport there together.
Thanks kiwi for ruining such a special time in my cousin's life. DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THIS DEPLORABLE COMPANY.
I booked a flight that the airline canceled. The airline refunded KIWI, I have provided KIWI the letter that states this, and KIWI won't refund me. I have provided KIWI a letter from the airline, copies of our boarding passes, and dollar amount of the refund. KIWI will not refund me because I do have have their booking number. The booking number was removed on the APP by them conveniently.
I would recommend NOT booking through Kiwi! My husband and I made this mistake. We were flying from the US to Italy and missed our connecting flight in London due to it being too short of a layover time with lines for immigration and security. We tried contacting Kiwi immediately at the airport as instructed. We tried calling several times and I tried using their "SOS" feature on their phone app. We waited for 5 hours in the airport just waiting for a response. NOTHING. Since we couldn't wait any longer, we were able to arrange a change from our missed flight with the airline for the next day- paying 180 pounds (230.00USD) to do so since we didn't have any other choice. We also had to book a hotel in London overnight and missed an entire day of our Italy vacation- losing money on hotel and travel reservations there too. Overall we lost about 1,000 USD from missing that flight. And the "Kiwi Guarantee"? Absolute garbage. They didn't give us ANY money or refund to cover our losses even though it was not any fault of our own that we missed our connecting flight. We met several other passengers who booked through Kiwi that shared the same issue on our flight. If you think you're saving money, just know that Kiwi does NOT have your back if anything goes wrong, which happens incredibly often on international travel.
YOU SHOULD NOT TRUST THIS WEBSITE! I don't usually write reviews but this time I couldn't let it go!
I bought flight tickets from Germany to Costa Rica on kiwi for a reasonable price. They sent me an email 2 hours later saying that the prices have changed, and i have to pay more now for my tickets! When i called they said that while i was booking "the prices changed", and this is why now i have to pay more. I told them are you trying to fool me?! I know for a fact that even when the prices change while I'm booking, the moment I select a ticket to buy, i reserve the tickets at the price that was mentioned!
Anyway, I cancelled that booking and thought I wanted to book again on Kiwi, just to see if that was just an exception, or if they always did that. When I tried to book again, the original price was written again! So I booked it again, and again a few hours later they sent an email saying that the prices have and i have to pay the difference! This is how they rip off people! What I hate is that according to the terms & conditions that we HAVE TO accept while booking, they "legally" cover up their asses! This is completely unethical and should be absolutely closed down!
Please do not support this "devil" company! Buy your tickets anywhere else but not here!
The worst company ever I had to deal with. They been scamming me and no any refund! They send me the wrong information then I was not able to do the checkin as the details was incorrect!
This travel agency is a complete scam! Do yourself a favor and do not book with this company. I had a round trip flight booked with them, and luckily I had a friend who was scheduled for the same flights. My friend had received notification via phone, and email that the airline has cancelled and moved the flight to a different time with a long layover instead of a direct flight. When booking with WWW.KIWI.COM, I was never notified of the flight cancellation and change of flight schedule. To make things worse they put you on hold for a min. Of 30 min to hours even though the queue will mention hold time is 10 min. Once getting through they find excuses to not refund you. They just want your money and do not provide any added value. Its a scam!
Its better to get your bank involved and dispute if youve made the mistake of booking with these people. They honestly do not care about there customers. Believe me, it has been a nightmare and please save yourself your own hard earned Money and Time dealing with WWW.KIWI.COM.
I booked two tickets for my mother and paid through the Kiwi website. At the time of booking, I paid an additional $30 to Kiwi for a 24 guarantee of cancellation with refund because I had never heard of the Kiwi site. But, I thought that if it was listed by Kayak, then it must be legitimate and reputable.
After I bought the tickets, Kiwi never sent me ANY booking information about the flights I purchased and I checked the airline website and there are no reservations for the flights I purchased, and I was told by Kiwi I would not be able to confirm the reservations with the airline at ANY TIME prior to arriving at the airport to take the flight. This is abnormal.
I called Kiwi twice and tried to invoke the 24 hour cancellation guarantee (that I PAID for), which they then told me that they would not refund my full payment and that any such refund would take 30 days after their "assessment" of the possibility of refund and that in any case, they would only give me an unspecified portion of my payment back.
My mother called again today and was told by Kiwi that the refund would be $31 dollars (out of $807.00!). This is fraud. They never even booked the tickets, they kept the money, and they didn't honor the 24 refund policy (which ALL legacy airlines do!). STAY AWAY!
My travel was carrier cancelled due to COVID. I requested a full refund in April 2020. They asked for 3 months to process refund. After 3 months I filed a chargeback request with my financial. They determined that since I signed their terms and conditions, I will need to work with Kiwi.com for my refund, which they claimed to still be waiting on the airlines for a refund. I called Norwegian who verified they provided a full refund in June 2020. Aegean Air claimed to have sent vouchers in June 2020 as well. IT IS NOW 9 MONTHS LATER and I have not received a dime from them. This was over $4,500. I have proof that they have my refunds from the carrier and I still cannot get them to process my refund! THIS COMPANY IS A TOTAL SCAM. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
Ok wow. I bought a cheap Frontier ticket from Kiwi and on my layover from SF to Tampa I was in Dallas from 2:30 until 11pm. The airline bumped me continually all night long until I was left in a shut down for the night airport. I paid for a hotel (my own $) and they left me with a boarding pass for the next evening. I went back to the airport and they repeated the bumping all the way up until the last flight of the night. I finally got on this plane and then someone else showed up with a ticket for the same seat! They actually wanted me to get off the plane for this person and I stood my ground. Fortunately I won this stand off but this was literally the worst flight of my entire life. Lesson learned: DO NOT BUY AN AIRPLANE TICKET FROM A THIRD PARTY SELLER LIKE KIWI. EVER!
Kiwi.com is the worst travel booking agent I have ever experienced. I have been regularly traveling internationally for 15 years. I recently moved to Japan and set up a flight to return to the United States. The itinerary kiwi.com generated had me leaving Japan on 29December at 7:05 pm arriving in Honolulu at 6:45 am. My follow on flight was at 12:45 pm landing in San Diego at 8:10 pm. The issue is that the flight itinerary incorrectly labeled my arrival as 30Dec. Honolulu is 19 hours prior to Japan so I really was landing at 6:45 am on 29Dec (traveling back in time based on time zones). They incorrectly advertised on my itinerary a 6 hour layover…but actually it was 30 hours. I called three times to resolve the issue. The first two "customer service" agents put me on hold and then hung up on me after 5 min. After an hour on the phone with the third agent, she acknowledged the system error with the dates but could do nothing to resolve the issue. I had also asked to change my birthday on the itinerary a week prior…they charged 30 euros to change August 08 to August 22. I will never use kiwi.com again and neither should you
Answer: I have reserved 7 flight through Kiwi with Spirit Airlines. Within 24 h I realised that I made a mistake on the flight date. I made a change and saw that Kiwi wanted to charge for both flights. When I told them I thought I could be reimbursed, they told me to go through the refund process on their website. I did. Just to make sure, I called Spirit and explained the issue. They said that they would fully reimburse Kiwi because the change was make within 24 h and it was an american law. Today, I received the answer for my refund request and Kiwi said they could not get reimbursement from the airline and I would have to pay double. When I tried to reach them to tell them there had to be another way, all of their contact information on their website was 'temporarily unavailable'. I feel like they have stolen from me.
Answer: I am sorry you are going through this, I checked but can't seem to find a record of it either
Answer: Kiwi makes money from air flight cancellations and mistakes they make because They will refund nothing! I even bought add on insurance. That doesn't prevent them from dismissing it will all sorts of unreasonable misdirection. They have no right to operate and be so big... at the expense of poor unfortunate customers who spend their hard earned money to travel. The give the aviation industry a really bad name.
Answer: There is no doubt that Kiwi.com is a scam. If you want to get your money back, then email the US Department of Transportation (douglas dot e dot davis at dot.gov) and CC the CEO of Kiwi.com (oliver dot dlouhy at kiwi.com), the Vice-President of Customer Services (Petra dot Reiter at kiwi.com), and the head of customer servcies for the EU (anna dot cavazzini at europarl.europa.eu) Good luck and do not use them again.
Answer: Because people don't know and they offer cheap flights.
Answer: Kiwi.com are crooks and charlatans. Avoid them. Dispute the charges with your bank if you can, and then spend 30 minutes online piling bad reviews till they are out of business.
Answer: Booking service... and a bad one on the market. Outrageous and not responsable to their customers
Answer: Yes call them threat them that you will sue them and also tell your credit card company that they made a mistake and are not owning to it. Get screenshots of everything including your calls to kiwi. Ask them for a voucher and on other hand contact your credit card to file a dispute.
