Bunch of thieves
September 6, 2019

Purchased a ticket. Canceled it a few hours later. Under the US rule, they should have fully reimbursed me. They didn't and they even mocked me over the phone.

Avoid them seriously.

Difficult customer service and policies
August 28, 2023

This afternoon I booked a flight from Calgary to Winnipeg. I selected the wrong weekend and noticed about one minute after the payment went through. I called right away to have it changed and the agent said I was not eligible for a refund or credit. I explained that it had been one minute since I booked and she said to call the airline directly. The airline was unable to do anything and seemed a bit confused as to why Kiwi couldn't do anything as it had only been a half hour. I just got off the phone, after three calls to Kiwi to try and speak with a manager, with a team leader in the UK (it's 11pm). He understands my concern, not likely, but won't do anything. I offered to have a credit of half my ticket price and I would rebook the $2700 correct tickets through them and that was even a no go. They would have made $400 for free plus $2300 for the new tickets. I feel like he was playing video games when I was talking with him. If you book through them just be prepared to loose the whole amount that you paid and then everything will work well. They will hold up that end of the bargain!

I have used similar travel sites and have not had many problems, and when I did, they always took care of it promptly. NOT KIWI.COM. They were the absolute worst! Everything was set to go, and I arrived on the day off only to find they had changed EVERYTHING! Rerouting my whole trip! I had to divert due to the nature of this trip and borrow money to book another flight. I ONLY booked through them because it apparently comes up as a default booking agency on my airport's HOMEPAGE. I did buy some of the expensive EXTRA insurance, and it did no good when my refund was requested; they still kept my money! NEVERRRRR AGAIN!

Booked flights and for some unreal reason the flights were not the dates I booked. Got on to them, they said nothing they can do. I said ok, went to change the booking, put in the dates I needed to fly and then I get an email telling me I'm booked on the same flight again after paying an additional 100 euros. Call kiwi straightt away, get through again to their terrible customer service. Explained, held on the line for over 45 mins as they kept putting me in hold. End result, they send me another link 4 days later after an additional 4 more calls! Clicked on the link, they wanted 200 more euros to change the flights. I didn't fall for this scam the 3rd time. However, my phone bill came in today and while I thought I was calling an Irish number routed to India, it was also a. Scam and I've now to pay a massive phone bill that they wracked up, keeping me on hold. This company is a scam and I just can't believe Skyscanner is using them. I'm also going to get in touch with Skyscanner as they are a reputable company so how they work with kiwi.con is weird!

No Credit voucher option? Absolutely rubbish service. Each chat message is responded bya different agent who does not read any of the previous note. Standard reply is telling me to rebook online or have a £10 refund due to voluntary cancellation. Peru is red COVID status means I cannot go to Peru! The other option is to rebook a different flight but as I want to do the trip in one years time and the airline has not published their schedule, keeps suggesting me to pick a different date when I'm not in Peru. No option to receive a credit voucher unlike any companies I have dealt with physical or online. They are cheap for a reason. If everything goes well, you are lucky. If things goes wrong, they won't help you but will keep your money. Of course, they will be able to cancel the flight with the airline, no problem. BUT you won't get your money back. Unacceptable business practises. Avoid avoid avoid. I warned them about giving them a bad rating. They simply said it was no reason to. I can get a refund (£10) for the standard ticket I purchased or rebook even though there dates did not suit me. Like hitting my head against a brick wal

Not Happy with Kiwi
December 27, 2018

Our experience was terrible. We booked for 4 people, one for my husband, two for my kids and one for myself. We're traveling international. The moment we're leaving for the airport, my husband got sick. He was throwing up and his stomach was hurt so he couldn't come. He went to the hospital while the 3 of us were gone for the vacation. My husband was diagnosed with kidney issue so he stayed at the hospital for 4 days. When the 3 of us went back home from vacation. I called kiwi and I explained the situation why was my husband couldn't come. I was told that I would get the refund for one passenger due to the sudden medical condition. I was asked to submit medical records and I submitted all of them. Three weeks later, I was asked to submit a "Physical doctor signature with a stamp". I called Kiwi again and I told them that the medical records had all of the information the day my husband was hospitalized. One week later, I got a refund of $9. That's right $9 out of $93 I spent. From my experience, it was not worth it to deal with this company. I called Kiwi several times and the wait time was almost an hour. Plus Kiwi got the information about my husband medical record with the number. If you know what it means about MR#. Thanks for reading of my review. I hope you learn from it.

My daughter had her flights cancelled due to Covid outbreak in 2020. Her flights were worth over 1200 euros. She got less than 700 euros back. We understood that it is difficult in these situations. But what made me so angry and not recommend this agency is the unhelpful, inexperienced and disrespectful customer service! Now that she is trying to rebook the flights from last year by using her credit, and paying the remaining 600 euros from her debit card, it is refusing her the booking and requesting the whole 1300 euros from her bank account and not using the credit she with Kiwi.com! She has been calling for help, she has tried everything they asked for, but still it is doing the same! When she asked if she can get someone actually to call her back to help her online with the booking and payment, the customer service screamed at her "NO! YOU HAVE TO DO IT YOURSELF!" A young adult who is a student and finding it so difficult to buy new tickets with full price... She has credit! Why is Kiwi.com trying to force her to pay the whole thing?

Kiwi prides itself in having the cheapest flights, but fails to mention that you will have to continually run around the airport rechecking luggage, paying for hidden charges, and missing flights because of continual delays.
The customer service team is useless in assisting you. If you miss a flight, they initially tell you to kick rocks and resolve it yourself until you call in multiple times. Then, instead of trying to book you the next flight out, they make you wait 2-4 hours for an email for your "offer" on your next flight. If you are stranded at an airport, they tell you to just sleep there, wait 3 hours for an email on a hotel they found (you cannot pick your own), or get a refund on a flight.
This is the worst travel experience I have ever had and I have flown internationally many times. Kiwi does not have your connecting flights talk to each other (you will always have to get your luggage between connecting flights and recheck it), so if ANYTHING happens between the 1-2 hours they give you to do EVERYTHING (get off a plane, get through customs, get your luggage, check in for the flight again, drop luggage off, go through security again, and find your gate), then you better plan for your entire trip to be delayed 1-2 days.

My boyfriend was flying internationally, and wanted the cheapest option possible, so he booked with Kiwi. His first flight was delayed several hours for weather issues. Kiwi was actually really great and rebooked his second of three flights very quickly. However, they refused to rebook the third leg, which he was also missing due to the first delay, until he arrived at his second destination. Once at his second destination--now international so I was making phone calls for him--Kiwi promised to rebook the flight within four hours. Five hours later, I tried to call them because no rebooking was made, and I had to wait an hour before finally getting through. By now my boyfriend had less than an hour to catch the last plane to another destination that would get him to his final destination on time. I explained the situation as quickly as possible because the airline was telling my boyfriend he had only minutes left to book. The man on the phone said "okay", went silent for four minutes, and then the call disconnected (my service was perfectly fine). Afterwards, I sent an email to Kiwi.com using their website, which said I would get a response within two to four hours. It's now been another six hours, and still no response. You may have cheap flights every once in a while, but every once in a while you're going to have to pay for it, too, because Kiwi doesn't fix the issues they say in their Terms and Conditions they will fix.

I purchased tickets for 2, choosing seats and a luggage option to Barcelona. Two weeks later I get an email saying they are refunding me the seat option as they couldn't process the seat assigments, due to a system error they say...fine...but then I noticed 2 different confirmation codes, one for each passenger, and handled by different carriers (Iberia, Level)...so I have to go on to 2 different sites to add seats. Then I noticed the luggage option was not purchased with the airline, despite me paying fot it. I contacted Kiwi a couple of times, each time the agent assuring me it's there - I called the airline directly, no it's not there. Got back to Kiwi, told them this, sent them screenshots, and they replies, oh, we have carefully checked your trip, and unfortunately it has not been added, we will purchase now, and send you a confirmation email - well, 24 hours later, still nothing - their customer service is nothing short of incompetent and I will tell anyone and everyone to steer clear.

NEVER USE KIWI.COM FOR TRAVEL!

I needed a last minute flight out of South America for an intl wedding and found one through Kiwi.com; they confirmed my booking and sent documentation stating so. I then traveled 1.5hrs via taxi to the airport; once I arrived, I got a notification that the seat to my flight had been cancelled/given to another passenger. I found a new one and booked it with kiwi credits so I wouldn't miss my other TWO connecting flights, and was told I had $427 in credits after doing so. Upon returning to the USA, I requested a refund of the amount owed to me ($427) by kiwi and was sent multiple denials for reasons unrelated to my situation. I am at my wits end after CALLING, EMAILING, and doing everything I can to contact this company to get MYYYYYYYY $$$$$ back with zero luck! DO NOT BOOK WITH KIWI!

This is now over 30 days past my trip with ZERO responses from KIWI or their staff!

I have booked tickets via Kiwi and asked them to add baby on the lap to my travel. Kiwi confirmed that baby is added to the flight. When I came to the airport I learned that baby is not ticketed, so Air Canada cannot allow to take my 10 month son with me ( boarder rule)

All this time I was calling and texting to Kiwi, asking to help to resolve the problem, issue ticket for the baby, but they were super incompetent and were just reply- we added baby, when I was asking for number or reservation they were saying - our agent will sent, but agent did not.

Air carrier tried to help me to resolve situation very much, but they couldn't so it without Kiwi( kiwi supposed to re issue ticket as third party) I called 5 times to Kiwi, I missed 2 possible flights and have spent all day with little one in airport.

At the end I have to buy new tickets for the next day and book hotel room.

I did cry with little one on my hands, trying to get ably help from company I paid almost 1000 usd for 1,5 hour flight.

At the end Kiwi refused even to refund me, because tickets not refundable ( but air carrier sad they are refundable) and they believe they did everything right.

So I very much don't recommend anyone this awful disrespectful and humiliating services, when I'm saying - There is a problem, I cannot take a plane, there is no ticket for my baby, they repeatedly ignore this.

So much suffered, I literally cried all day.

Worst experience
December 8, 2020

We bought 6 tickets with them for different dates, going to Colombia. All 6 tickets were affected for changes that the airlines made ( copa, spirit, viva air), When we tried to call them several times, finally they answered and they said that they can give us a refund for only $ 100 and we pay more than $ 300, if we want a full refund we have to summited an application and wait 3 months to see the results.
They buckets the tickets in different reservations, so went I was at the airport I have to take out the suites cases for all destinations, go back to the ticket counter again and pay again the fee for the bags. At the end is more expensive with them because you have to pay your bags for every airport you go. And when you need to make a change in your fly because the airline change the reservation, it is a problem because the reservation is not connected and they asked you to pay a fee, plus the difference for the new ticket.

Do not buy with them. It is better to pay a little more at the beginning, because with them is going to be more expensive.

I have been scammed
February 23, 2022

First of all, I am extremely disappointed in your service. I have paid and booked my flights with your company, however not only my flights where not booked, I have lost over £800 in expenses.
For the first time I called to change my flight date, your employee haven't even done their job putting data in the system. To which I had to call again in order to confirm, however I been told that there's nothing in the record.
Once my flight dates where changed I was not informed about the change in price, not that the flights have not been booked. Two days before my flight I have called your company on three different occasions to confirm the check in. On all those three occasions I have been told not to worry, that whiting an hour or two I will hear back from the company. I have audio recording of conversation with your employee, which proves that not once it has been mentioned that my booking has not been processed. I have traveled to the airport, paid for a whole week worth of parking for my car. Your system have informed me that I will need to do check in at the airport which was not processed, once I went to Ryanair stand I was told that my name was not even in the system. I am utterly disgusted how I have been treated and the fact that I have been refused a refund. You have no right to call yourself a company and I truly wish no one will ever get scammed by this company like I have been

Connection guarantee FAKE
We bought some flights with Ryanair from Madrid to Amman with a stopover, in Warsaw and Budapest. We bought them through Kiwi.com despite the extra cost due to its guarantee covering the connection that Ryanair does not take over. If you hesitate to buy that flight thanks to that service, dont take the risk.
From the beginning we tried to increase the hand luggage, which had to be via email through them, also with extra cost. T
He worst thing is that warsaw flight changed depart time so that the stopover was not viable any more, so they offer a connection according to their reasonable guarantee that costs 5 flights and 4 stops to get from Madrid to Amman. (33h journey with stops in Warsaw, Gothenburg, Milan and Bucharest). Given the impossibility of making such a journey, we request cancellation and reimbursement since we lose a day of travel with paid reservations. The final surprise is that they cancel flights with a refund of 0 Euros without prior notice, and make us a partial refund (it does not reach 40% of the cost of the reservation). They even charged us cancelation tax becuase it was "volontary"

My 18 year old daughter booked a trip from Toronto to Spain for her and her girlfriend.
He friend had a problem and had to cancel so 16 hours after booking this 2800. 00 trip she contacted KIWI to find our her options 1) what she would get back of she cancelled completely or 2) cost to change the date of the trip or 3) Could she get a credit to be used later No one would provide her with any costs to allow her to make a decision. They claimed it would be 30 days to determine the credi

I called them the next day to try and get answers... the same crap and no one to escalate it to. The person Grace ******* claimed she waited too long and that it was over 24 hours... after proving it was less than 16 hours when first contact was made the policy was only for US travel. Grace promised a follow up call or email within 6 hours... no contact So the next day I called again and spent 2 hours on the phone nothing but a promise they would sent an urgent email to refunds... so now today she got an email offering 152 euro credit. So i called and again asked to be escalates after going through the whole process again after 20 minutes on hold they disconnected me.

This company is appallingly bad and dodgy. I was desperately trying to get my son to fly home from London in these very scary times and undergoing a lot of anxiety as I had just those few hours on 16th march to book a flight and get my son over as Malaysia announced it was going into lockdown on the 18th of March. I purchased a business class flight with this kiwi company thru skyscanner and the payment went through but then I got a message that they needed further verification. On calling them I was put on an recorded message for over an hour and 15 mins on the phone before they answered the call only to be told I needed to book 12 hours before as they would not be able to process the ticket and verify the payment. The assistant was extremely incompetent in giving a sensible explanation as to why now that she had finally answered the phone she could not verify the payment despite my pleading with her that I didn't have many options as I had wasted a lot of time with this booking and my son would be stranded in London for possibly a few weeks to months. In the end I had to accept that I would have to cancel that seat on the flight and book another one but later when I tried to book another business class seat, the other airlines had also sold out! Plus my money was tied up with this company and was told it would take 10 plus days to be refunded despite kiwis representative telling me that the payment could not be processed! I'm shocked that skyscanner allow such companies to operate under their banner and give so much unnecessary hassle and anxiety to customers in already stressful times.

Terrible experience!
March 14, 2020

Given the flight restrictions imposed by this global crisis, I asked for a refund and additional information on my flight. After three days, they never contacted me to give me any kind of information. I also tried to reach out to the Customer service (several times), but it didn't work. Therefore today I decided to cancel my reservation to comply with Kiwi regulations to cancel reservation 48hours in advance. Basically, I had no choice and proceeded with that. Within 5 minutes of doing so, I receive a message from the company saying that, having canceled, I no longer have the right to request a refund! I replied to that email, and they obviously never responded (while ensuring that customer service is active 24/7). Given the unfolding crisis, it is a shame the company is not providing any kind of support to customers. I am seeking out how to submit a legal claim to defend my rights as customer, so that nobody is scammed again as it just happened to me. I will never use this website again, and I will not recommend it to anyone.
