I booked my flight with kiwi and was denied entrance into Japan, Vietnam, and the Philippines because the airline couldn't see my flight out of Vietnam. Without a ticket out I was then rejected despite having my ticket through Kiwi. Kiwi then refused to refund me my original amount due to their error and it cost me around $2,000 on top of all the planning around work and using my time. Worst customer service of my life and was stranded at Chicago's Airport. I really wish I would've read the reviews of this company before purchasing a flight. I only recieved a $45 refund out of the $1,100 flight outbound and no refund for my flight back into the states.
I couldn't fly on 11th Aug due to the lockdown in my area. Looked for the dates change but they tried to charge for a full ticket price although Qatar airways offer it for free. This's ridiculous. Fortunately, the airlines changed it for me. What's an awful experience
Do not download this scam app. Book directly with the airlines.
I've bought a trip with Kiwi, for Jan 2nd 2023. When I tried to check in with the airline company, I found I had no booking code.
Kiwi support then told me they hadn't booked it yet and would do it urgently as there were 24 h left to my flight. 4 h later, they sent me a message saying they didn't book it and that's it. I was left without flight tickets with less than 24 hours to my flight.
All that was offered was a refund, which the support crew just told me I won't even be able to receive it, it will be converted to "kiwi credits"
They are scammers. The price goes up while booking. I clicked on baggage but it turned out that it wasn't added to the booking, then again I booked baggage for Euro 269.24 (what else could I do) and it turned out that this wasn't added to the booking either, so I had to pay for the baggage at the airport. Complaints and claims only get standard answers that they did the right thing and that I am not entitled to anything, while I have sent the proofs (the booking, which shows no luggage + the proof of payment for the luggage at the airport). They mislead you, charge way too much money for a service they don't provide, they get you in trouble at the airport and then don't give a damn and you can forget about your money. Really, what a nasty club.
Update: a few days after writing this review, I received a reasonable refund.
For a year and a half I have waited for the sum of $1,132.00 from Kiwi as I booked a flight with Ryan Air through them. The flight was cancelled due to COVID. When I initially requested a refund, they asked for $21.64 to get my money back from Ryan Air. A year and a half later, they sent a refund for $21.64 but not for the $1,132.00. They then said to contact Ryan Air. Often they are automated responses. You can never get a live person. This company is a scam and is sitting on my money and many other people's money. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM.
Non reliable.
I booked my flights to Florida with them $714.
When XL airways went bankrupt. They were suggesting to either book another flight for $500 or estimate the refund. Out of curiousity I wanted to estimate amount of refund.
The next day they had canceled all my flights without my approval! And did a refund of $124.
When I called them to require that they rebook my flight because they had no right to cancel them, the answer was "we are really sorry we can't, all we can do is give a voucher of $50 on your next purchase with us".
Poor solution. I will never book anything through this kind of agency.
If you are traveling and using an online site, I encourage you to stay away from Kiwi.com as they do not fulfill their 'money-back guarantee'. Our flight on May 10th from Cyprus to Luton was delayed 1.5 hours which caused us to: miss a connecting flight, miss our scheduled night at an AirBnB, have to go to a hotel, reschedule our connecting flight, and miss a scheduled non-refundable tour. All together, the delayed flight cost us $876.46. So, do NOT use Kiwi.com or Wizz Air.
If I could give kiwi.com no stars, I would - I had to hit 1 to allow me to continue.
The day before we left NZ we received a notification from kiwi.com that our luggage component had been removed from our MAD-CDG and a refund was on its way (duly turned up). Contacted kiwi.com - who basically told me to contact the airline directly myself (bit hard to do when flying...).
Arrived at MAD early to sort - the look on the faces and subsequent conversation PERFECTLY reflected that the error was generated by kiwi.com, and not Air France (kiwi.com suggested that AF had cancelled). WE sorted this issue with the helpful AF staff, and merrily travelled along...
3 days ago, I complained to kiwi.com - and surprise, surprise I've had no response, not even an acknowledgement.
To add insult to injury - the receipts I've submitted for reimbursement will take up to THREE MONTHS to process.
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER use kiwi.com for travel!
Kiwi.com charged me 71 for the baggage that was never processed with the airline! In other words - they stole 71 from me!
Luckly, I was able to detect that and solve all the issues directly with the airline before my flight, although I had to pay for the baggage again! Kiwi.com is a scam, never buy nothing from them!
I've contacted them to get info about my parking that I additionally added using wizz air and information was send to kiwi because initially they bought a ticket from their account. I called them many times and they even changed my date of birth so I can't confirm myself to reach them on the phone. Later they changed my return flight to the same date as departure flight and proposed options of paying additional money to get a flight that takes 10H instead of 2H meanwhile on Wizz Air app my initial flight is available for booking. There are working Indian and Pakistani scammers only
22/11 at night I bought plane tickets from Milan to Rome because they were cheap - 51€.
23/11 wake up with an email stating that they couldn't process my order on time and that now the tickets cost 150€.
Instead of paying the difference, like they should (as this is not, by any means, fault of the costumer), as this is problem with THEIR services, they only reimbursed the 51€...
With an already paid hotel and non-existing help from costumer service this is a terrible situation to be in. Wouldn't recommend Kiwi to anyone.
KIWI.COM advertising for very Cheap Prices, once you entered your Payment Method Information, they Charged more than double the price, When you call their horrible Customer Service, the only choice is to let you accept voluntary Cancellation, to return you only 11 Euros ($11.88). That's positive scamming. Be aware, Don't Trust KIWI.COM,
This site is such a cheater. My sister booked a flight from them which got cancelled by the airlines itself. Airlines told to give the full refund but these guys won't give it back to her. They don't want to contact the airlines and says that it's again their police rules to contact the airlines. Which is totall bull$#*!. Never gonna trust this site. So untrustworthy.
I will NEVER use KIWI booking again. My son was flying from Seattle to London to Mallorca, Spain. His flight to London was diverted ti Iceland due to a medical emergency. When he finally made it to London he had missed his connection. He called KIWI and was directed to another flight which he had to pay for himself and was told by KIWI representative that he would be reimbursed. He was not offered any food or hotel vouchers and spent the entire night in a chair at the airport. Once the trip was over and we contacted KIWI for the promised refund we received nothing. I attempted 3 times including going straight to the airline, but never got anywhere.
24th of February 2021 I bought 2 tickets from Warsaw (Poland) to Sydney (Australia) for 3rd of March 2021. The ticket costed a fortune! It was around 3 400 USD! There were 4 connecting flights to get to Sydney and there were 2 transfers in the USA. It occurred that USA borders were closed even for transit, so they should not have sold us those tickets! We managed to bord the first flight to the UK and then we had to buy other tickets for another almost 4 000 USD! On the 10th of March I claimed a refund because I had to pay off my credit card and you know it costs a lot if you don't pay it off on time! 5 months later my KIWI.com profile says, they are dealing with the increased number of complaints, and it may take 3 months before they deal with my refund. Had they not been selling the flights that people are not able to board, they would not be facing that issue! I recommend buying tickets directly on the website of the airlines.
Flight was cancelled by on 12/27/2021. I had to purchase tickets with another airline to avoid my son being stuck in a strange airport overnight. Kiwi instructed us to reach out to the airline, Spirit, who referred us back to Kiwi as we had FULLY REFUNDABLE tickets with their "GUARENTEE: through their service and they also would not refund the connecting flight he also missed. This has been an open case since 12/27/2021 and is now 03/27/2023! No communication other than it is still in the process and please allow time as it could take up to 3 months...it's been 5x that! And I have to reach out every couple months just to TRY and get a response. Last communication on 01/09/2023 said we are still processing it, to allow 3 months but do not keep sending in refund requests as this will not making it go any faster. Maybe a lawsuit will expedite the process?
They are a scam. Awful costumer service, nonexistent to say the least. I booked a flight with them and I did not have internet at the time. They claimed that they sent an email to document the changes in my flight. Considering that I was not able to respond within the time allocated as I was in the airplane and with no internet until the next day where I was able to buy a chip to insert in my phone so that I could have internet, they choose not to honor my flight or make any accommodation after that time.
Booked 3 tickets for my family and 4 days before the flight I checked in with the airline company to check the status of the flight since there is a lot of uncertainty with covid. I was told by the airline representative that the flight never existed and it was a fraudulent ticket. Couldn't believe it so I walked in to the local office of the airline company and sure enough it was fraudulent. Called kiwi and explained but the rep ( Krishna) refused to take my word for it. He couldnt get hold of the airline but assured me that someone will get back to me by the day ends. No call back received for another 24 hours. This time they are saying yes it was cancelled in the last minute which is a lie. Told me to wait for 3 months for my refund. What a world we live in
Bought tickets through kiwi and paid for bag and when we got to the airport the airline said we didn't have a bag paid for although we saw it when booking with kiwi and paid 129$ for it. We ended up having to pay again. Contacted them and they were not willing to refund or do anything about it. Even the airline rep said that kiwi are thiefs because it happens often. Do not book with them!
They do not offer any support or compensation should the airline change their flight schedule without your consent. If you ask to rebook your flight to more closely matches your original booking, you will have to pay full price again.
You are on your own if you book your flight with KIWI.
Answer: I have reserved 7 flight through Kiwi with Spirit Airlines. Within 24 h I realised that I made a mistake on the flight date. I made a change and saw that Kiwi wanted to charge for both flights. When I told them I thought I could be reimbursed, they told me to go through the refund process on their website. I did. Just to make sure, I called Spirit and explained the issue. They said that they would fully reimburse Kiwi because the change was make within 24 h and it was an american law. Today, I received the answer for my refund request and Kiwi said they could not get reimbursement from the airline and I would have to pay double. When I tried to reach them to tell them there had to be another way, all of their contact information on their website was 'temporarily unavailable'. I feel like they have stolen from me.
Answer: I am sorry you are going through this, I checked but can't seem to find a record of it either
Answer: Kiwi makes money from air flight cancellations and mistakes they make because They will refund nothing! I even bought add on insurance. That doesn't prevent them from dismissing it will all sorts of unreasonable misdirection. They have no right to operate and be so big... at the expense of poor unfortunate customers who spend their hard earned money to travel. The give the aviation industry a really bad name.
Answer: There is no doubt that Kiwi.com is a scam. If you want to get your money back, then email the US Department of Transportation (douglas dot e dot davis at dot.gov) and CC the CEO of Kiwi.com (oliver dot dlouhy at kiwi.com), the Vice-President of Customer Services (Petra dot Reiter at kiwi.com), and the head of customer servcies for the EU (anna dot cavazzini at europarl.europa.eu) Good luck and do not use them again.
Answer: Because people don't know and they offer cheap flights.
Answer: Kiwi.com are crooks and charlatans. Avoid them. Dispute the charges with your bank if you can, and then spend 30 minutes online piling bad reviews till they are out of business.
Answer: Booking service... and a bad one on the market. Outrageous and not responsable to their customers
Answer: Yes call them threat them that you will sue them and also tell your credit card company that they made a mistake and are not owning to it. Get screenshots of everything including your calls to kiwi. Ask them for a voucher and on other hand contact your credit card to file a dispute.
