Never book flights with Kiwi.com. They lack professionalism. We bought five tickets form them and they did not purchase them from the airlines. My family went to the airport and could not travel. They are a scam!
Kiwi.com refused to refund our flights after they were cancelled by the airline. They offered us a 10 Euro "refund" instead of the $2000 they owed us. This is illegal. It took several months but we finally got our full refund after issuing them with an alternative dispute resolution notice through the very helpful people at the Czech Trade Inspection Authority. Visit their website for contact details: www.coi.cz.
My July 2020 flights were cancelled in June 2020. I applied for a refund in June 2020. Lufthansa confirmed payments to Kiwi by July 2020. I have had back and forth with Kiwi.com since then, even with them confirming that Lufthansa paid them, and I have not received my money. I finally disputed the charge with my credit card company and filed a report with the US Dept of Transportation. Never EVER use Kiwi.com
Kiwi.com. They said they would work with both carriers in trip to get me a refund or flight credit. After a full year and half they were NOT able to get me a rightful refund from AA! They literally stole 600 USD from me outright I cannot do anything about it. I called AA and they said I would've gotten me a full refund if I booked with them and Southwest never got my cancelation from Kiwi so I was put as a "No Show" and not eligible for flight credit. Absolutely the worst company experience, I really hope they got out of business soon.
I requested a refund because of the COVID-19, I couldn't get on board. It was an international trip and I had to choose 2 stops. It's been a year. They asked me to contact one of the airlines to ask for refund, which was the shortest trip. How about the other two? Can you just refund those to me instead of holding them? I tried to call the consumer service. Now they even don't let me get through the phone. TRASH!
I booked flights from Canada to Edinburgh through Kiwi.com because the flight arrived in Edinburgh at an ideal time and it was Westjet. I noticed while booking that our cabin baggage was free however at the time of booking checked baggage was not mentioned. I assumed that would be an add on once the flight was purchased. Upon booking I realized checked baggage was not allowed however baggage insurance was available for purchase ( Im not sure why you would need insurance if your bag is with you in the cabin the whole time). Only a 7kg bag was allowed. They said it was because it's a discount rate, but by no means was this the cheapest flight. This experience has severely complicated our 10 day trip to Scotland and kiwi.com has been aggressive and reactive. It's not worth the ideal arrive time and it's not cheap.
Worst experience ever. We booked a flight with connection, and two days before the flight, the first airline forced us to take another flight, although the original one did the flight without us. They said we can ask for refund, as the airline changed our schedule, but that we had to do through the agency (kiwi) and not directly with the airline. After a month of battling, we got zero refund from kiwi, and the airline insists it cannot do the refund directly. Kiwi says the airline does not do refund, but the airline directly to us says they do. Are they getting the money for themselves? Total scam, I will never use it again, a lot of money wasted because we had to buy a ticket at last minute. Although the customer service people is nice, it is totally useless.
Never fool by a little cheaper rate. I have the worst experience. After two times of cancelling and increasing the price we finally cancelled and asked for the refund which they offered. And it took five months and still calling for the money. Every time I call they say that they didn't got the refund from the airline. Worst of worst.
Cancelled my flight due to covid (understandable), but then didn't refund me for two years and then only returned ~$400 of my $800 flight cost. Perhaps worse, what was returned was granted in Kiwi credit only as after waiting for two years to receive the refund, I was only given a week to choose how I wanted to be refunded.
Kiwi are the WORST operator I have ever booked a flight with!
First they cancelled my flights, then they said they will fully refund me, then they delay THEIR refund policy (!) by two months and finally they refund $200 less without explanation.
Last but not least, they do not answer the phone calls and they do not respond to the emails!
I am extremely furious with Kiwi. The WORST company I have ever dealt with, not only in terms of flights, but generally.
OMG!
Talk about getting screwed! DON"T book thur them! What you think you are saving will actually cost you in the end. Esp. If you want to bring normal luggage... then when you try to upgrade they charge you 3 times as much for luggage and then you can only do it by bringing another bag... now you have to pay for more luggage on any connecting or related flights thruout your trip.
Their customer service sucks, (oh, good luck finding the number... I got this by accident *******159 but this agent was SO bad, bad english, talked to fast, had no resolution for me no way!) their website sucks! Now on hold to try to speak to a higher up but... oh, man, esp if going to europe, go direct to airlines! Norweigian is great!
Just like all the other reviews I am here to post about my Kiwi.com scam experience. Had to cancel trip on March 31,2020 to Tokyo because of not being able to return to the US via COVID lockdown.
Pursuant to 14 CFR 374.3,14 CFR 259.5(b)(5), and 12 CFR 226.12(e)(1), they must refund back to credit cards within 7 business days or 20 days for cash/check.
All Nippon Airways must abide to above rules provided by the U.S. Department of Transportation, which means they should've refunded KIWI.com, yet no refunds were administered to me. It's been 2 years and customer service stopped responding on March 21,2021. It is now August 28,2021 and I have submitted a consumer air travel complaint to the U.S. DOT.
We made a booking Cairo-New York-Tampa and at the same day trip price was changed. We didnt know that the payment was taken twice, we knew it after some days after freezing the amount in bank. Anyway we paid 1300EUR and as well as price was increased the system of kiwi offered cancelling and fully refund because its never been booked. We agreed but nothing helped. System error. One week passed the status is still booking processing. No answers, no call answers (robot says wait for your booking we will answer during 24 HRS). Now we have 400% additional problems. We debited 2600EUR instead of 1300, its going to be a dispute in bank, that was passenger's money (not the payer's). $#*! company, $#*! support. NEVER DO. Claim everywhere where you can.
I got caught in their scam. The website even showed the times for departing flights and return flights, so I bought it. Then my confirmation is only for the return. They got me. Their call center is in India and zero conversational progress can be had through that channel. Filed a complaint with BBB. Stay away.
Absolutely ridiculous, I had tried to do an online check in 24 hours before the flight and I was not able to do it, I had tried to get in touch with someone but was mission impossible. Finally 14 hours prior the flight I had received an email saying that the only option at that time was to do check in at airport where it costed me 55 euros. Since there was a stop in Italy I was supposed to pay that amount twice. Luckily the people from Ryanair managed to find me the details and found out the email address that was made up by kiwi (*******@fhhkkcn.com) and I have managed to check in online for the next flight. Unhappy client, won't recommend it.
Where do I start? I booked flights to get to Greenland. The last flight got canceled and I couldn't get to my final destination. Tried calling them 50 times. Nothing. No answer to emails... They offered me an instant $270 credit voucher for a trip I paid $1200 for. What a joke. If you want to kiss your money good-bye book through kiwi.com. The biggest scammers in the travel industry. Luckily we get government support to go against operators like these people. Stay away from these fraudsters!
I have bought an airline ticket with kiwi.com in July 2020. Because the flight was canceled due to Covid and I received a part of the money. But it has been a year, they are neither replying to emails nor refunding my money back. Do not EVER use this service.
Kiwi.com can be your worst online shopping experience because they cheat.
Their method is showing fake prices via API to other flight search websites such as Kayak, Google flights or etc. After you click on their link, you redirect quickly to booking page to insert passenger information and selling extra things and finilaize the ticket by taking your credit card number and done. So far so good?! But when you see the deduction from your credit card, you will see that ticket cost you way more than the others and even the airline original website.
Today was my first experince with them. They sold me 3 overpriced ticket from FlairAir. First showed the fake price $179, then after placing order I saw that they deducted $251 while the price on the FlairAir website was $219. I'm going to open dispute in fraud department of my credit card to block the transaction.
This is a neat method of fraud!
This company illegally withholds refunds from its customers if it feels like it. It tries to hide behind "well you didn't pay enough for your ticket for me to try to get you a refund".
They refunded me 16% of a flight back in April that had to be cancelled due to COVID travel restrictions. They promised me timeline after timeline but as of September, 5 months later, they could only give me 16% of it back.
Chat is unhelpful, rude, abrasive, and clearly untrained as they just say the same thing in response to every inquiry. Requests to escalate lead nowhere. Some people have had some success in getting their refund by harassing their CEO on linkedin, so if you want them to behave like a legal business with a conscience who gives a damn at all about their customers, I guess.
I purchased an international flight with 1 stop.
30 days before the flight, the first flight was re-scheduled, landing 27 min before the next take off, so impossible to catch it and I requested a refund.
Although it was 30 days before the flight and they have an insurance, I was only refunded 100$ out of 500$. Shame on Kiwi.com!
Cheeky way of making easy money!
Answer: I have reserved 7 flight through Kiwi with Spirit Airlines. Within 24 h I realised that I made a mistake on the flight date. I made a change and saw that Kiwi wanted to charge for both flights. When I told them I thought I could be reimbursed, they told me to go through the refund process on their website. I did. Just to make sure, I called Spirit and explained the issue. They said that they would fully reimburse Kiwi because the change was make within 24 h and it was an american law. Today, I received the answer for my refund request and Kiwi said they could not get reimbursement from the airline and I would have to pay double. When I tried to reach them to tell them there had to be another way, all of their contact information on their website was 'temporarily unavailable'. I feel like they have stolen from me.
Answer: I am sorry you are going through this, I checked but can't seem to find a record of it either
Answer: Kiwi makes money from air flight cancellations and mistakes they make because They will refund nothing! I even bought add on insurance. That doesn't prevent them from dismissing it will all sorts of unreasonable misdirection. They have no right to operate and be so big... at the expense of poor unfortunate customers who spend their hard earned money to travel. The give the aviation industry a really bad name.
Answer: There is no doubt that Kiwi.com is a scam. If you want to get your money back, then email the US Department of Transportation (douglas dot e dot davis at dot.gov) and CC the CEO of Kiwi.com (oliver dot dlouhy at kiwi.com), the Vice-President of Customer Services (Petra dot Reiter at kiwi.com), and the head of customer servcies for the EU (anna dot cavazzini at europarl.europa.eu) Good luck and do not use them again.
Answer: Because people don't know and they offer cheap flights.
Answer: Kiwi.com are crooks and charlatans. Avoid them. Dispute the charges with your bank if you can, and then spend 30 minutes online piling bad reviews till they are out of business.
Answer: Booking service... and a bad one on the market. Outrageous and not responsable to their customers
Answer: Yes call them threat them that you will sue them and also tell your credit card company that they made a mistake and are not owning to it. Get screenshots of everything including your calls to kiwi. Ask them for a voucher and on other hand contact your credit card to file a dispute.
