My husband contracted covid in Jan 2021, emailed his primary hoping to get at least meds to aid him as he has a-fib heart condition. Was not looking for a 2 hour turnaround, but his doctor, Dr. Paul, never ever contacted him. Three days later with myself and daughter advocating for him as he was too sick we got another dr. at Kaiser to prescribe meds. I am not with Kaiser and I got help as I contracted covid within 24 hours. He went to the ER at one point, but I believe the worst was over and he was offered no treatment. However, they told him he had diabetes and had had it since June when his blood sugar was over 300 and at the ER was 330. His primary missed this as well and failed to tell him he was diabetic form June to Jan. Needless to say we have switched primary care physicians. Kaiser is has slipped horribly since he first selected that plan and I believe they absolutely no longer deserve their 5 star Medicare rating. To be fair the doctor he finally got help from (late in the game) really helped him via telecon and scrips, now couldn't his primary Dr. Paul do right by him absolutely no explanation no contact really poor on his part. Filed a non-Medicare grievance and was told simply oh well he finally got help and will let the team know about his experience - no action taken. Should have filed a Medicare grievance but didn't and didn't know he was not given any diabetic help when he first became a diabetic and as a result now has diabetic retinopathy, which may have been avoided if he was given care and meds sooner. Kaiser in our opinion caused him harm, not help.

I can't say enough how my daughter and I felt today at Dr.Charles Lee office during a check up for my husband who has undiagnosed ADHD(lol)my husband went for few questionable moles to be checked but Forgot what he was there for and he was allll over the place and doctor Lee was so kind and flexible,he actually went with it,he was sharp professional and super friendly with a humor that really touched us cause we know how frustrating it can be,he deserves some kind of recognition for doing not only his medical job but also being a descant human with heart,Bravo Doctor Lee,we thank you,my husband is coming back for his check up soon so BUCKLE UP.also thank you Stephany (nurse) for removing his ear wax,we'll remember this visit for a long time

Do you like to choose the medications Generic or Brand that you know are best for you without paying a small fortune? Well then forget Kaiser. I met my deductible with a $200 medication purchase of a 20mg medication. 3 months later i changed to 30mg of the same medication and they RESTARTED my deductible. Every time i change med dosages they restart!

When trying to get help online you can forget it. The standard answer is "call this number". So you cal the number and they say we will fix it and call you back in 24 hours. Yeah Right! Still haven't received a call from an issue days ago. I emailed the "pharmacy help" online email and they said that only the call pharmacy service line could help... wtf. Its like they have an answering service online so you can feel like you reached someone even though they cant or wont help you.

Anyway my total pharmacy bills will reach between $2500 and $3000 yearly for 2 medications. Man, this Obamacare is working great. I pay more, get worse customer service and get treated like trash at the same time. They beat you into submission until you are "happy" with what they offer.

Kaiser deserves a Me Too movement.
Kaiser Permanente routinely compels women to expose their genitalia to non essential medical assistants. The policy exists as an internal memo that has never been provided to patients, permitting doctors and medical assistants to create rules or policy guidelines at will.

Sexual assault is defined as an unwanted sexual contact. By definition, hundreds of women experience sexual assault and are denied their patient and Civil Rights by being told that the chaperone must be present to view their genitals against their will.

The truth is every patient has a right to reject treatment that they deem incongruent with their faith, conscience or wil.

In my experience, the doctor lied and asserted that the policy was an actual legal code. The doctor allowed the assistant to peer into my vagina whike I openly protested.

When you escalate a complaint to management, you're told that the chaperone is not a voyeur and they should be given grace in the execution of their duties.

Kaiser expects women to allow spectators, who serve no medical purpose, to be in the room inorder to indemnify themselves against sexual assault allegations.

Be forewarned. You have a right to opt out, but the doctor will attempt to dissuade you, then alllow the chaperone to peer endlessly into your agape vagina.

Kaiser deserves a Me Too movement. They are responsible for denying women bodily autonomy on an alarming scale.

Kaiser PCPs
July 1, 2023

Diagnostic skills are poor. MOTO is: "#1-Save money for Kaiser" They only ask 1 or 2 questions, decide very quickly, with memorized, canned responses. If any medications are suggested, they're OTC, NO expense to Kaiser.
The PCPs assigned to new members are the ones that loose patents and have slots open. Why? Because their patients get fed-up by the care they receive and decided to change to another PCP (the available ones at the BOTTOM of the list), who had slots open), or they're patients die...
My wife HAD the same PCP as I do. Every 3-5 weeks she would experience sudden severe discomfort in her chest/lungs. Could get an appointment with PCP was in 4-6 weeks. She always ended up going to Kaiser Urgent Care every 3-5 weeks. After about a year of this she got LUCKY! The Urgent Care Dr. asked her "When did they do a chest x-ray?". She said "They haven't done one..."
Must be $ $ $?.
X-ray clearly showed Stage 4 Lung Cancer. Was it Stage 2 a year before? Chemo didn't help. Couldn't get into a study (paper work snaffos) on using the immune system as treatment...
She died 11 months later.
I have more "Adventures at Kaiser" (?) reports, but enough for now, makes me sad to tell just this one

I had Kaiser for years and it was good until you get sick. Then it would probably better to have another health care plan.

Hands down WORST physical therapy assessment I have ever received (and as an athlete I have been in physical therapy many times throughout my life). The first red flag was walking through the area where patients are seen and not a single soul is using any of the equipment or receiving any direct treatment from a therapist. Usually physical therapy offices are bustling with activity!

I was seen for about 25 minutes, the appointment felt very rushed. I was pressured to choose the part of my body that causes me "the most pain" even though I was insisting that the problem is my entire left leg and left side lower back and is not limited to any singular body part anymore (I reluctantly chose my foot). I was given several stretches and strengthening exercises and told "we'll see you in a few weeks" which I found puzzling. I asked if regular weekly sessions are something that is done at this facility and was told I could be seen sooner "if I wanted". Ah, I see how this works now.

As I am to understand it, it seems Kaiser's approach to physical therapy is sporadic rushed appointments where the patient is given some handouts to take home - handouts that I could certainly have found on my own with a few simple internet searches. No regular sessions to track progress and make adjustments as necessary? No manual therapy? No use of well known and effective tools to enhance a stretching and strengthening routine - like electric stim, dry needling, heat, ice, etc? And now I'm stuck with Kaiser and have no choice but to utilize the services of their many little medical factories serving up mediocre care at best. I will have to pay out of pocket if I want to receive quality care for my injuries or I will have to wait until next year where I will NOT be signing on with Kaiser again. SO very disappointed in myself for choosing Kaiser. And I'm just praying that I don't fall seriously ill or injured for the rest of 2019 so that I can steer clear from them. I do not expect that the rest of their medical care would be any different from the "physical therapy" I received. Thank you NEXT.

My wheelchair inquisition today was a total farce, my appointment was scheduled for 11;40 a.m. I wasn't called in until 12;20 pm. None of the four people doing the inquisision
Could be bothered introducing themselves, the lead Dr was so pious and smug he would not even allow for his face to be seen. The absolute 100 per cent 9f this inquisition was about preserving KAISER PERMANENTE one hundred trillion dollar net worth there was NOTHING at all about patient care or needs!

Question How much do KAISER PERMANENTE DOCTORS RECIEVE AS A BONUS FOR SAYING "NO" in order that KAISER PERMANENTE can Saxe a few of it's precious dollars?

The only thing KAISER PERMANENTE is about is patient disrespect.

At KAISER PERMANENTE you or anyone else is only a medical record number and that is the total that anyone will ever be.

Id give a Zero if I could. My 92 yr old Mom fell and broke her hip, after surgery and in the hospital, they denied an inpatient rehab. Sent her to a skilled nursing facility instead. She was told the first 20 days no copay, after that 196.00 a day. She only got there 7/11/23 after surgery on 7/7/23. They are kicking her out July 25th, way before the 20 days. We appealed because even her therapist stated she need more therapy to be safe. I filed the appeal right away on Friday the 21st, they denied it the 22nd (July) They could care less that she lives with my sister who has JRA since age of 4 and takes care of her. I took 2 wks off work to help but now have to return to work. A patient in the skilled nursing in the next room already has 3 appeals and guess who she has Kaiser! I just was able to sign up for Medicare myself and chose Original Medicare, NO KAISER, no advantage plans. You are at the mercy of a bunch of suits who have no empathy and only care about getting your money, but when you need help forget it! My Mom will be switching as soon as she can. I hope the DR. that so called looked over everything in less than a day and made a decision on my mom's life and safety to save money rots. SHAME ON YOU! KAISER SUCKS!

I used to love Kaiser so much. I'd hear other people complain and think oh they're just unlucky. Well I have finally seen the light to their blatant incompetence. The only positive thing about Kaiser is their use of technology but unfortunately even that has aided in their failures. They seem to be so obsessed with their app and speedy check-in services that they have lost sight of what they're supposed to be doing which is CARING FOR PEOPLE. I have been practically begging to be approved for a leave of absence due to my work and personal stress and they're making me jump through so many hoops. I keep being referred to psychiatry which is ridiculous since trying to get an appointment for therapy/counseling takes MONTHS! My doctor made sure to stress the fact that even psychiatry most likely will not approve a leave of absence because I need to learn how to manage my stress which I agree with to a certain extent but also I need time to deal with my personal issues and focus on my personal needs but I'm unable to when I have to be in an office for 9 hours a day plus the commute. I need to stay home with my kids while we grieve the loss of my mother and no one will help me. The doctor I saw today made it her objective to tell me how important it is for me to work. She must've said the word "work" 23 times during her 2 min rant. I understand the importance of work I mean I NEED my job but you can give me 4 weeks to get my mind right? It's ridiculous. It's no wonder this country has an epidemic of gun violence.so many people at their wits end, frustrated and unable to get the help they need. Next year I'm leaving Kaiser for good.
