JustAnswer had slid the rates by me upon signup, and I was fearful of follow-up escalating charges, so I decided to cancel until I could check out the legitimacy. JA refunded my money immediately, and I was excited about reactivating my account and jumping back in with Felix. Then the problems started: The start-up went smoothly as a JA rep gave me my new Account # and we set a new Password. I'm all good to go it would seem. Went to the JA Website expecting to se the usual check boxes for e-mail & Password. I cockily punched them both in and the dreaded red outline immediately circled the Password box. "Yer dead buddy, Password doesn't match Username or e-mail." I tried many other ways, explaining by text and phone to various other entities of bots & live foreigners with impossible to decipher accents, that I needed someone in the US who spoke an American brand of English. They promised to connect me to such a person, took my Tel. # and said to wait for a call. With slight variations this was the pattern that continued for almost 2 days, with more and more live people promising the World and delivering nothing. It was always a brick wall sending me back to the Tel.# of Customer service to start the nightmare afresh. So here I sit…Account # and Password in hand, but dead in the water, waiting for a Gringo to dial me up. Help!

It took about 3 months of paperwork, verifications, and bank back-and-forth, but I got a big chunk of my money back. Not all of it, but way more than I thought I’d ever see again. If you’ve been scammed, don’t give up — there are people who can help, but be careful who you trust.
