It's Just Lunch

I was impressed with the first customer service person I spoke with when I contacted IJL. He responded very quickly, was warm and personal, encouraging, and professional. He immediately connected me to my matchmaker, Tricia, who has also been wonderful. From her first call she has been warm, kind, encouraging, and professional. I feel that she is truly invested in helping me find my life partner. I've tried tried two other dating services and IJL far exceeds them both.

I'm new to IJL and have gone on one date so far. I was very disappointed with the person I was matched with. I am not sure what criteria is being used for matching, since they don't ask too many questions and don't ask some key ones that I think are important for a successful match. I wonder if there are a good sample of potential matches to select from since my next match is at the top of my age range. While I'm happy to not have to be on dating sites and weeding through fake profiles and sleazy come ons, I'm not sure this service is worth the expense. The people at IJL that I've talked to have been great, but so far I'm wondering if I just wasted a ton of money and am wishing they had a better refund policy.

I live in the Seattle area and my IJL matchmaker, Debbie H., has been thoughtful, specific and very focused in arranging several dates for me. She's a good listener and only concludes our phone calls once she's addressed my concerns and questions. For my most recent date, her restaurant selection, as well as its location, were spot-on. With Debbie H. As my matchmaker, I feel confident that I'll find the right man for me!

The service is not a service at all. They have insufficient members to met their commitment and an open-ended contract that gives them eternity to provide the committed number of dates. In over two years I have had two actual dates, two no shows, and countless cancellations. I have spoken with management to no avail. Wish I had done my homework in advance as plenty of similar reviews exists as well as lawsuits.

It's a great concept and there is a need in the marketplace but IJL is not a viable option nor a reputable company.

For the most part, things have gone rather nicely. While only one of the dates I've been one has progressed to a second date and further, none of the dates that I've been on, have left me feeling out of place or uncomfortable with the woman I was with. While there have a few dates where I thought there was a better chance of a second date than there may have been, I found myself feeling that the woman I was with, simply couldn't bring herself to say "no" versus feeling like the matchmaker totally mismatched us. I think the only suggestion I could make for next time is to find a match who lives somewhat closer to where I live in an attempt to increase the likelihood of a second date.

This was the biggest waste of money in my life. I have tried multiple dating sites in the past. I was sold over the phone buy one of their reps that they put all this research in and will give me a great match every three weeks. They sent me up on one date in six weeks. They also told me they would send me virtual dates and they never sent any. I paid almost $2000 and they immediately told me that I am not eligible for a refund or a prorated refund after they made multiple mistakes! I reported them to multiple agencies. Please do not waste your money or time with them. I am doing everything within my power to make sure I am spreading the word so they never screw over any customers again! Please do not refer your friends or family to them. They should change their name to It's Just a Scam!

I only wish I could prevent others from spending their money here. PLEASE read the fine print and do NOT believe the lies they will tell you in order to get you to sign up. The only thing worse than the actual service is when you try to get customer service. You will finally get to a manager who will speak down to you, lecture you and basically say " thanks for signing up, we are sorry you are not happy with the service we provided". Save your money!
