It's Just Lunch

First off, I rarely give 5 star reviews for anything so don't let that swade your opinion one way or another. I've only gone on one date so far with the service. The matchmaker did everything in her power to match up what can be matched up to. They setup a safe environment and provide a context for dating with people who have very busy lives. I've read some of the reviews here and there and quite frankly I think it just means expectations have to be either mellowed out or changed. They aren't miracle workers and don't have access to "cupid's arrow". They can only match up to personality, looks, and interests. I think they've done a good job on that so far in the context of one date.

I did IJL before, like 10 years ago and it wa great. This time around has been horrible, they really have had a downfall. I have been through countless matchmakers, every one of them sucks. Their communication is horrible, if a matchmaker quits, it takes them several weeks to contact you with your next matchmaker. They had the worst time finding me matches even when I took away all the parameters. They truly suck and should be ashamed of themselves as a business.

I've been with IJL for a while. I first joined in Philly, then Cleveland and now back in my hometown. I really appreciate the effort they put in to finding me a partner! However, at times I don't think they hear what I'm telling them about the type of lady I'd like to meet and that I want to meet somebody in my area I live. IJL has set me up on dates at a greater distance than want to travel. I know, you never can tell were you'll find a mate, but distance is still an issue!

Snatch and grab that credit card #. 14 months after taking my $; One dud date. My wing gal is a flightless emu working in a black hole; no where to be found and no internet access to get emails. Previous used car sales people one would imagine. It is an expensive "learning course". I will frame and display the credit card receipt as a diploma. I believe that's that amount of results I will receive. So dishonorable of a company to pray on the broken hearts of people trying to find love.

I agree with a lot of the reviewers, they do take your money and then... you are at their mercy. They tell you how many people they could match you with right then... and those people magically disappear when you pay them. It appears to be a numbers game as well, a lot more men than women, I think we all know what happens then. It really is sad how they say they care and then they just throw someone at you of which you have NOTHING in common. Maybe a class action law suit would get their attentin

I was at first with another web site, to find my ideal match, but was so disappointed.
I saw people who were in no way compatible professionally with me or my qualifications. On line dating sites also left me wondering if there was any thing real with these people who were looking for their: soul mates"
Some of these encounters are best relegated to the past. With ijl, especially "the Luxe division", all experiences were somehow so relaxed. There was an element of counseling after dates, and feed back, that I got from my dating coaches, that i had so craved, but i finally had. My experience with my local rep was informative and pleasant, and lead to some awesome photos.
Although I have not been matched yet with my partner, I remain optimistic, that IJL will find me my perfect match, and get me closer to my goals of finding the right fit for my quirky, fun, yet serious and independent personality.

Bryanna carefully listened and understood my unique situation, reviewed my account details, provided empathy and explained clearly the real terms and conditions of my contract, specifically with regards to matches, which I wish I received up front. Overall, the conversation was enlightening and a positive experience, and it sounds like she is able to point me in the right direction to provide some form of resolution or rectify the situation.

Stay away. They only care about collecting your money. After that it's all smoke and mirrors. They promise 24 dates within 12 months. They will literally send you anything to fulfill their contractual obligation. They do not care what you want and /or like. It's all to justify not providing a refund. Stay away. Disgusting people.

The 4 star review is for Tamia only, who attempted to rectify my terrible experience, for which this review is supposed to be for. I would rate the overall service as a 1, because there is no 0.
Please do not let them tell you "you can get out after 3 dates". I am not happy with the amount of effort I have to put in to get a date/rescheduled date. There appears to be a high no show rate. I definitely wish I never purchased these services.

Jaiye is my Executive Matchmaker and he is great! I've just begun working with him, but I can tell he'll be attentive to my dating preferences. His communication process is much better than the efforts I had to take while on Match.com. The one date I've been on so far was really nice and the next date I'm going on tomorrow also looks good. Jaiye is willing to tailor my dating profile so that the dates he or his colleagues find are best suited to me. I'm looking forward to working with Jaiye.

So far so good! My first date was a great experience considering this is my first time using a Matchmaking service. Anita is very personable and really listens to your likes and dislikes to select the best match. I'm really glad you have the option to provide feedback after your date and discuss how you can better refine your next match. I would recommend IJL to my friends and family, looking to date without having to swipe all day for matches. Wish me luck on date #2!
