It's Just Lunch Wants Your Money - Don't Do IT! Be proactive for yourself and just say "NO."
Signed up during a 'Black Friday' sale in 2020. It's Just Lunch invests heavily in you all pre-sign up. Once they have your money, what they promised DOESN'T happen! The most frustrating aspect of the service is that if they do not send you a match, you cannot look any matches or take any action for yourself. ZERO customer service!
In over a year, I've been on one lunch. It took me many calls, emails to arrange the one lunch. They changed the time, very last minute. I live in the LA area yet had to drive LA freeways for over an hour to get to the lunch spot. I found out he drove over 2 hours. Both of us passed thousands of lunch spots, just to arrive at an overpriced, poorly serviced location.
Honestly, the experience was traumatic. The man they sent did NOT match his picture, his employment, any of my interests. Bottomline - I had a hard time getting out of there, getting away from him. He followed me to my car. He kept asking me out, wanted to get me drunk. He talked the whole time! The only time I intervened was when he said he would not text me - because his friend is in jail for extortion of a minor. I had to speak up! As a nurse who specializes in protect vulnerable children - I could not let that go. I had to correct him. But it did not matter. It did not stop his unwanted advances. I have a detailed log of my follow ups. It's Just Lunch has ignored me. I have called, emailed... I have asked simple questions about vetting, security, no reply. I have asked for a refund, to that they did reply stating my contract is 'serviceable'. They connected me with an online experience, seemed like a nice guy and he asked for my number - but then never followed up. IJL did not follow up. I am beyond frustrated! It seems like the best move I can make is to warn others. Don't give in! It is a waist of your time, energy, and money. Be proactive for yourself and just say "NO."
I subscribed to membership with It's Just Lunch with very high hopes and expectations. I was excited about the format and opportunity to meet new people and go on dates. Immediately following the first date, the experience was nothing but horrendous. It's Just Lunch charged a very high membership fee and included a no refund policy in their agreement. They also included in their agreement that "All Dates will be within the criteria provided by Client at the time of joining with respect to age, religion and parental status." One of my criteria, as related to parental status, was that I did not want to date someone who wanted kids. On my very first date I was matched with someone who wanted kids. For a service as costly as It's Just Lunch ($2,800 for 6 dates), a single date has a very high value and I believe strongly that they wasted a lot of my time and money on this. Rather than immediately walking away from the program, I tried reaching out to their customer service to discuss and address this discrepancy. What ensued afterwards was a 30 day struggle to try to get a hold of anyone who address my complaint. I sent multiple emails and made multiple phone calls, all of which were unanswered. Following this terrible customer service, I determined that I had no faith in this business and its ability to deliver agreed upon services. I spent the next 30 going through the chain of command in request for a refund. I was denied at every point, even though I had clear and documented proof of their failure to deliver on agreed upon services and their terrible example of customer service and response. After being rejected by even their top executive, I resorted to my credit card company to reverse the charges. Not having a legal standing to do so, they sided with IJL, but that decision does not take away from IJL's unethical business practices. I am pursing action through the BBB, Department of Consumer Affairs and The Federal Trade Commission in an attempt to receive a refund that is clearly due. I would never recommend anyone to engage in business with It's Just Lunch. Their customer service and business practices are among the worst I have ever experienced. Hopefully, my pursuant actions to receive a refund will be successful.
We appreciate your feedback, however, disagree with your statements. IJL provided the services to you as outlined in the membership agreement. You had a fantastic date, 3 hours long, with the individual you accepted and exchanged numbers. We are sorry to hear things did not work out and that you did not find your special someone dating with IJL and wish you all the best on your dating journey.

Please do not waste your money on IJL in St Louis. They will guarantee you they have enough male clientele but they don't. They have the right to fix you up with nonmembers and former members but they aren't really looking to date or start a relationship. There is no real matchmaking going on. None. They don't have offices anywhere except Fl and it's a call center with a lot of part time staff. They will sell you a very expensive membership and tell you they work specifically to try to matchmake for you but it's a complete fabrication. They want to be sure you're looking to date and start a relationship but your fix ups aren't always looking to date or start a relationship. It's a complete fabrication. They stress follow up and communication but you get none from them. I've gotten ONE email asking for feedback after a fix up. The customer service and personalized match making doesn't exist. It's a complete fraud. They prey on people's emotions to get expensive memberships. You'd do just as well online - which is the sad truth. DONT BE CONNED. PLEASE. I DIDNT BELIEVE THE REVIEWS FOR ST LOUIS
It's been great so far I only been signed up for a month and I have been on one date and looking forward for more dates to come

I talked with it's just lunch and they promised they have just who I am seeking and after a few calls I signed up and paid and that quick the story changed!
Now I was to choosy and they had no one, they presented a few ladies but they were absolutely nothing like I described as I was searching!
I told them I'm seeking a devoted Christian lady and they said (oh we have lots of sincere Christian ladies seeking for a partner just like you) as soon as they received my money they say it's not ethical to ask a lady if she's a devoted Christian or not and if she goes to church or not and that i ask to much!
I finally asked for and talked to the manager and he got very upset snd practically screamed at me!
Now a year later they called again and tried to sell me their service again!
I told them I still have not received one date from the $2750. 00 I believe it was I paid them a year ago!
They hung up the phone very fast and said (YOU ASK TO MUCH WE CANT HELP YOU AND NO YOU DONT GET A REFUND)
Please take this warning (ITS JUST LUNCH IS A DISHONEST COMPANY-you have been warned!

The previous reviews are correct. IJL underperforms and deficient in service: faulty in communication and it may be weeks and months before you get a response from a matchmaker, and may not receive any feedback regarding a serviced date. I spoke with multiple layers of management of the company, and the head of the company would not issue a refund, and stated that it was not in the contract to receive feedback from a matchmaker, and that they did not promise that kind of "handholding." The contract clearly states that they will give feedback after each date as stated in the contract: "After each Date, an IJL Representative will follow-up for post-date feedback, and during this time, the IJL Representative may provide Client dating coaching tips, advice, suggestions, and any other dating related strategies for Client's consideration and future dates" (IJL Contract). Paying $4,500 dollars is an extravagent expense to have a company offer deporable and inadequate service by contacting you when it is convenient for them, and responding when called and emailed multiple times, and not following up with feedback after dates.

My IJL experience has been great. Although there can be some hiccups from time-to-time, I have no real complaints. My Match Maker (Carissa) is awesome. She finds great matches for me, and in my opinion keeps my dating schedule full. Yes, there are times when the dating schedule slows to a halt, but that is to be expected. And in a way, it should slow to a halt, because as I have explained to IJL, I am interested in meeting great dates; not dime-a-dozen dates. So, if I want great dates, then of course it is going to take IJL more time to find my great dates. Carissa takes quality time (out of her busy schedule also) to talk to me to really understand my taste in women, my short-comings in dating, and helps me to not only have great first dates, but to successfully land the second and third dates. Carissa has my best interest at heart, and wants me to meet great, beautiful, professional, single ladies who deserve to meet a great, handsome guy like myself. If you are serious, patient, and looking or ready for a no nonsense dating Assistant, look no further than IJL. Their Match Makers are great at what they do; matching guys like me to ladies who align with my values. If you are someone who is accustom to or looking for speed dating, IJL is probably not going to be for you. IJL takes the time to research (gets to know the client) well, so great matches have a strong likelihood of occurring. If your pace of dating and dating expectations are more on the Tinder side of things, then there is a strong possibility IJL is not going to meet your expectations. IJL is a professional dating service--taking quality time to match professionals with professionals.

Answer: It's Just Lunch is a scam... don't do it! It's just them charging your credit card! They work hard on getting your credit card number - once you pay customer service is OVER! There's no team of people looking for you & you can't access anyone -with out them initiating a contact. In 14 months only one 'lunch'. However, because the experience was so horrible, not even It's Just Lunch counts it as 'lunch'. I've been asking for my money to be refunded. Whatever you do, be proactive for yourself & just say "no.".
