Delivery fee, service fee, plus tip. Overpriced items, items not available. I don't blame the shopper but the company is an overbearing, profit giant that doesn't care for customers as they should!
The amount of over-charge was described to me by AG employees as price gouging. No joke. I explained the fee, the service, the diff. Receipts, and the lady at the AG's office said, "sounds like price-gouging" with whats going on right now.
I ordered and paid for groceries to be delivered. I have kids and we were low on food. 5 DAYS LATER they cancelled the order. I was on hold for over 3 hours for them to tell me there is nothing they can do. No reason for cancelling. No groceries delivered. They can not keep up with their orders so do yourself a favor and order from Shipt.
It's the worst application for online shopping. The replace the items with anything they want. Less quality products!
I highly recommend Amazon Fresh!
Driver delivered to wrong address. No follow up from driver or instacart in the past 48 hours of my consistent reaching out. Could have been solved simply by returning and redelivering to correct address. Driver was aware of mistake within after his departure. Instacart's lack of ownership of the issue has led the elderly waiting another week for their grocery delivering during this worldwide pandemic.
Ordered groceries. Everything was out of stock except one item. Instead of updating me about this they went ahead a delivered the 7.00 item, which I would have cancelled had I been updated. So, I got charged for the item, plus their fees, plus a tip. So I paid over 17.00 for a 7.00 item. Tried to call them, but their phone service is not available. Rated them in the app and got an email that they would contact me soon. Still waiting! I would never use this service again. It was the worst ever!
Our first time using this service and it will be our last. We never did receive our order. It was booked about a week ago. Confirmation received and then confirmed again early this afternoon. We received 3 subsequent texts advising our order was delayed due to "high demand". Then a final text advising the order would not be delivered. Then an email asking that we pick a new delivery slot. My question is why would our order be impacted by "high demand" when it was placed a week ago. Was Instacart taking on too much business? Were they short staffed? WTF. I phoned the supermarket (Zehrs) and chatted with the store manager. Today alone he received a ton of Instacart complaints. His store is not involved in the process once the consumer selects Delivery vs Click & Collect. Thus he has no clue about issues unless the consumer calls to complain. He is very upset and is sending his District Manager an email tonight outlining all the complaints. He feels responsible because (even though he is not) his store supplies the groceries. He did say that all their Click & Collect orders are guaranteed for pick-up. Some may be late but the consumer is kept aware and always receives the order. Sure not the case for Instacart. As an aside I was shocked to see all the negative reviews for this service. How the heck do they remain in business?
Ordered from two stores. The delivery time was pushed back to 10 pm, and one shopper was done. Another messaged before at 8 pm to tell me the store is closing. You would think shoppers would know store hours. And the entire order from both stores was all canceled. This is completely unacceptable.
Beware, Instacart is a rip-off, takes your money. Pretends to service your order, fails to deliver and runs...
Made my initial Instacart order at Fresh Thyme, Cranberry Twp., PA, and it was delivered within a couple of days, so I FOOLISHLY allowed $9.99 to be debited from my credit card to purchase a month of their "Free delivery" of >$35 orders service. Surprisingly, the prices were the regular off the shelf and sale prices.
However, unfortunately, my next Instacart order was at Aldi, Wexford, PA. It was entered on the Instacart website on or about 3/30/20. At that time, even though I kept checking back three or four times a day, it was not until about five days later on 4/4 that I could get any possible delivery date or time. Fortunately, that day, they offered a "First Available" option, which in desperation, I agreed to. My order then showed delivery between the next day, Sunday, through Thursday. As each day passed until today, Thursday, 4/9, the expected delivery window kept changing from whatever the next day was to Thursday. It was implied that today, Thursday, 4/9, would be the delivery day. Again, while anxiously a waiting the call that the Instacart shopper was on his/her way with the groceries, I received a message at 7:40PM that the order was canceled, not delayed, not rescheduled, not any offer of an option to get the groceries that we have waited nearly two weeks to receive.
Needless to say, I will email them to cancel my account and demand a refund of my monthly membership payment of $9.99. No sense in feeding this pig any longer. It doesn't even OINK!
Placed and order last Sunday and chose fast and flexible which means I would get my order between Sunday and Thursday. I heard nothing till Wednesday evening and was told that my order would be coming Thursday evening. So I waited till 8:46 pm (Thursday) when I received a notification that my order was cancelled! Not delayed or anything like that just straight up cancelled. What if I was an elderly person that couldn't go out and get my own groceries or a immune compromised. Would they have to order again and wait another 5 days or more?
So now because it is so late I won't be able to get my groceries tonight or tomorrow due to stores being closed. What a joke of a company.
I ordered from instacart 2 weeks ago from 2 different stores everything got confirmed. I got an email today after it was suppose to be delivered saying due to high delivery in my area they can't fill my order and I need to re place an order to find availability. It was my first time trying to order from them and I will never use them again.
The first time with instacart, I received the only good employee instacart has. I wish I could find him and hire him privately. Was great with communication and substitutions. My friends all have horror stories. Three days ago I ordered and first date 7 days out. There flashing pop-up that I can add items to my order right up til shopper starts order. So today I change beef to turkey and my date changes from April 15 to April 22, except there are no slots. I was almost out of food when I had to wait a week. Now 15 days. Nowhere did it say the date would change. I haven't been in a store for three weeks and I am vulnerable. Now I may HAVE to. Instacart encourage you to add to your order and doesnt tell you the date will change. Next. No training so intelligence of shopper is crap shoot. $3.99 for delivery. $3.36 "service fee" which does not go to the driver. You have to tip the employee a minimum of 5% of your order. The tip I'm not complaining about. Also the prices on items seem to be higher than at the store. I shopped a Shaws. I'm going to check out Shipt. Instacart cannot handle Covid. I'll change my review if they do. Zero stars plus two for that first shopper/driver. Come back Jonathan.
I would have given 0 stars if it was an option. I placed an order for my elderly parents last week, the shopper did not adhere to very clear instructions with order and items and then 2 people arrived at my parents door and the delivery persons had a puppy with them in the vehicle with my parents food along with letting the puppy out to use the bathroom in my parents yard! My parents have 2 of their own dogs, how would we know if those puppies had worms, parvo, etc... I also placed an order for my youngest daughter and she was missing a big amount of ordered items! I have emailed instacart several times and also called them, I have gotten nothing! NEVER will I use them again, money is very hard to come by especially these days and for someone to disrespect and steal from me is completely unacceptable!
My first instacart delivery was excellent and my second instacart was terrible. I don't have confidence in their support a they don't really care about what they're buying for you and as an elderly person with special needs, I need what I say I want. There are no guarantees with Instacart, you may get a good shopper and then again you may get one who doesn't give a care. I don't trust them, and I'm over a barrel because I cannot shop on my own with spinal stenosis. I miss Peapod who instacart forced to leave Illinois. :(
No problem placing an order or getting a time of pickup assignment, then 20 minutes before pickup very rudely told by Instacart employee in my selected store "I don't have time, I am picking tomorrow's orders" When told to pull my order (sooner in the queue) she says "I don't have time for that."
Couldn't be a worse situation, to order 1 week ahead, yet no service, then rudeness. You should close the business, you don't know how to run one. Stop promising what you can't deliver... ever heard of Ponzi?
On March 23 I placed an order. On March 24 the order was delivered. I was charged through my bank account $66.82 which was everything I ordered. However, the receipt I that left with the order said they charged me $32.67. I didn't receive milk, bread and toilet paper that was not on the receipt but I paid for these items evidently. And I didn't receive the milk and was charged on the receipt for that. I would advise if you like Aldi's go to the store, but don't order online for delivery. I did it because we are going through this pandemic and I'm trying to stay out of the markets. I would advise Walmart. They are wonderful!
This service is really bad. Three items were missing but I was charged for them, five items were just wrong. When I called to complain the recording said I was number 162 in line. Impossible. I was charged 135.71 on my debit card but the receipt left with my groceries was 97.34. This was two weeks ago and still no resolution. Stay away!
I placed an order on the April 2nd and it was set to be delivered April 7th at 3:30p. My order was delayed 4 times and then eventually cancelled. I was told to "re-place" the order on the website, but there were no times available, thus not allowing me to re-submit the order. I tried tweeting, DMing *******@Instacart page, Calling the support line (not working at the moment), and using the chat function which quoted a 25min wait time. After 2 hours and no response from Jonathan, I decided that I wouldn't get a resolution from Instacart and decided to never use them again, unless there is a way they plan to fix this issue that they caused, leaving us without essential groceries.
If I could give a negative review I would. I've tried using them twice and although I learned to order like a week ahead of time I can't get a time with a "No Time Slot Available." I set my order up 4 days ago and still no chance of getting an order. Don't know when I'll see my food if at all!
Their service sucks.
Won't use them again.
I placed an order for delivery. My order was supposed to be delivered the next day at 12:00, around 12:45 I received a text stating that my delivery is being postponed due to high demand and it's expected to be delivered around 2:45, the crazy thing is I never received my groceries. I can't get ahold of anyone when I call or post a chat! The representative I guess stole my food. The sad thing is on Kroger website my order still shows out for delivery, I will honestly never use this service again! I will recommend anyone I talk to, to not use this service.
Answer: Instacart does not give you the sale prices from the store. So if the peanut butter is 3.50 on sale. Instacart will charge you 4.80 regular price. Their prices are all over the board but on average you are paying 20% more.
Answer: You can't! The only way I got a response from them was when they emailed me to rate my driver and I gave a bad review for her and Instacart. I got an email back. Otherwise, there is no Customer Service! I tried everything under the "Help" section and got nowhere!
Answer: Seriously? They have already scientifically proven that is not spread that way. How many strangers & kids and semi drivers and warehouse people touch your stuff before it even leaves the store.
Answer: No, they don't by policy. But I've found they don't deliver anything else either. Last two orders were cancelled. I dumped my account and told them to keep the gift card balance. Done with InstaCart.
