In light of current events, I decided to try it out since they offered free shipping on my first order. Even with that little boost, it was absolutely not worth the expense AT ALL. I know it's probably stressful out there for the instacart employees, but the whole experience was just frustrating. They seemed to not want to deal with the specifics of a lot of items and "replaced" them with alternatives that I did not suggest. The tried to tell me there was only one kind of a lot of items, but I know that Wegmans would seriously never only have one type of hot dog... The bagging was unbelievably careless and my sushi looked like it went through a washing machine. The icing on this God-awful cake was the fact that despite overly-specific directions, they could not locate my address and kept getting sent to another city. I have had plenty of grubhub drivers that could find it without incident. I gave a good tip and did not retract it despite really wanting to. I know times are tough, but I could never rationalize spending the delivery charge and tipping premium to have someone manhandle my groceries and leave out so many items. I tried it to reduce stress and it caused the exact opposite. I can't express enough how I would never use this service ever again.
Send wrong food. And lock your account without reason and ask for copy of ID by email. Do not use their service.
At a time like this when a senior is restricted because of pandemic it would be such a great service... but when they inflate the cost it becomes extravagant for a senior on low SS. My $35 order adds up to $48. Don't mind tip and delivery. Then they add service fee and then finally they charged $60 with a little note I had to search for. Said I was charged $60 in error and it will be adjusted within 4 or 5 days... lousy way to do business... losing trust in Instacart... at a time like this... seniors like me are grateful for service but taking advantage is not good... I don't know if they car
I use to like Instacart, but have had terrible experiences lately. First of all, I was completely OVERCHARGED 5%-10% when comparing the store receipt prices against what Instacart charged. Yesterday I had an order that was shopped and should have been enough route to my house. I get a text shopper can't complete order, but no reason why (?). So they assign a new shopper to start over... but she can't shop the items due to their technical issue and items having been previously shopped. Instagram ends up cancelling the entire order due to their technical issue, and says I have to re-input the entire order (aarrgh)! So now I must select Sunday delivery instead of Saturday. Family now waiting on Sunday, and Instacart pushes back the delivery by 2 more hours... Call customer assistance, and no help at all... Just says unfortunately that's what our system shows, and could have to wait up to an hour to speak with a supervisor. I think it was a call center in Mexico that was not empowered to actually assist/ resolve, only apologize. No help at all and very frustrating...
I've been ordering from this sight for about 6 months now if not longer. In the last few months I've had nothing but problems. I had someone walk out on my order received molded rotten fruit and veggies multiple times. Now these last few times I check Availability Times before I order and it tells me within 2 hours. Then I go
To check out and it tells me the next day. So I went and shopped for it all my self bought all the exact stuff and saved $100! Then this Time same thing so I called and the guy I talked to was very rude. Kept talking over me and cutting me off he was not %100 with it. So I give up! For now on I'll place my orders for store pick ups threw the stores and or pick it myself. Paying that much for service fees and not getting all the sales is not worth it to me anymore.
On 6/02/20 I purchased groceries at Publix thru Instacar, unfortunately I was overcharged, my receipt was for $246.65 including tax, plus I was charged separate for deliver, service fees and tip which totaled $29.84. The total of just the groceries including tax was $246.65, Instacart charged my credit card $275.00. I called Instacart customer service number at *******822 to dispute the $28.35 overcharge, I was treated very poorly and was told there was nothing I could do, the man I spoke to kept talking over me and wouldn't let me speak. This is a shame this is happening with Instacart this is like ripping people of their hard earned money. I can this company overcharge someone and tell you there is nothing you can do.
They show high in demand products as available and then you end up ordering them and some other stuff. And then you only get the other stuff because when they tell you of unavailable products at the last moment, you can't cancel the other stuff
Horrible experience! They change the prices of the products, and bring you cheaper and poor quality products. Drivers very rude no customer service skills. This company is a total fraud!
I got charged ~$17 for 5 apples when on the walmart receipt the total is written as $3.18 lolll are you kidding me right now? Tried to deal with customer service but is repeating themselves over and over again that I was charge according to their pricing. Despite spending hours trying to explain that their pricing is ripping ppl off
DO NOT TRUST THEM. I have unexplained charges on my receipt but because the online receipt doesn't show them they are saying I didn't pay for them. I calculated my receipt and was short exactly the amount of the items that I did not order. Even sending them pictures of the receipt with time and date and they denied fault. This is an extremely dishonest and unintelligent company with incompetent customer service reps and employees without integrity!
Don't go through Instacart! They blamed Costco for raising their price of meat. Bought ribeye and cost me $20 more than had I gone on to buy. They service charge on top plus add more for tip which driver deserves. Pathetic
Worst customer service I have ever seen! The shopper took a picture to show that my groceries were "delivered" but then proceeded to return them to the Costco store and took the cash. This was verified by the manager at the local Costco store. I was still charged for the order through Instacart but never received any groceries. I have been fighting them for TWO MONTHS and have yet to get a refund.
I just received a large delivery of Instacart loose fresh groceries on my front porch area in no bags, boxes or anything. This is my fourth delivery, and first such NEGATIVE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. However, now I do recall at my last delivery, the delivery person telling me she founded some bags herself to delivery my groceries. I will cancel my temporary membership to avoid a similar experience when I may not be at home. I am rating Instacart average because my first three experiences were good ones.
I asked for 5 tiny Jalapeño peppers and got 5 Huge strange looking peppers. What are they? Are they hot?: what do I do with them?
I asked for frozen caulif[ower and got 2 huge bags of broccoli.
I asked for Kosher beef broth and got non kosher broth that I cannot use
I asked for Rosens white bread and got an Italian loaf which is not parve or kosher
I asked for frozen brussels sprouts (thinking I'd get a little package of frozen sprouts) and got a huge bag of fresh brussels sprouts. At lease 3 lbs.
The first order was sent to the wrong place and the second order is a waste of money. I have to say that this is the last time I will use Instacart to shop for me. This is an honest and truthful review.
They include a 10% service fee that they say it's voluntary, but you can't delete it. Forget about any sales, the buyers won't care. It would be nice if there's an option to include the discount card if the store or something similar. But they don't want that because they will loose profit form the optional service fee prepare to have a markup of 30%. Thieves.
Instacart is changing on each item in average 30% more then the store price. In addition to the service fee, delivery fee and tip it comes to more then 50% external pay. This is big bid disappointment!
Unable to account for $500 in groceries supposedly delivered over 1 month. The cost of groceries is high, but astronomical when these guys start shopping. 2 for you, 1 for me is my thought. Dont trust them, don't use them.
You will never win a dispute. Don't waste your money.
On 5/25/20 I used instacart and had a horrible experience with who delivered my groceries. There were two guys at my door insisting on an additional cash tip even though I already tipped through the app and his friend stating "homeboy here would like a tip too". I told them multiple times that I did not have any cash and that I adjust my tip at the end depending on the whole experience and quality of my produce. The original guy who was my assigned to be my shopper was not leaving my door stating I can adjust the tip now and how his friend makes so much money through getting groceries making up to $50 in tip. It got to the point where I had to shut the door in his face because he was not leaving. I called instacart immediately to let them know what I had just experience and how vulnerable I was that two guys who now have my address refused to leave and I felt very brushed off. They progressed me to the higher level of care, but they only stated " we will make sure you aren't matched with him again an you can get free delivery for next time". I informed them there would not be a next time and he should be fired that kind of behavior should be unacceptable! I just felt very shoved to the side and not understood on where I was coming from, I am sorry but 7.99 isn't going to fix this nor is just making sure me and this guy isn't matched again-this company obviously doesn't care who they hire.
I'm a senior who discovered Instacart for local store. I was in heaven until one day my shopper accidentally left her receipt in one of my bags. Items that were on sale at the store were not passed on to me. I paid full price for those items. So I paid $20 more for my groceries and since I had ordered four times in the past, I'm afraid that number was probably a lot more with the others orders I had. I will not use them again.
Never buy fresh fruits or veg using Instacart. I ordered blueberries and they delivered blackberries which were half rotten. The strawberries also smelled as if they were very old.The cut mushrooms were old.
Answer: Instacart does not give you the sale prices from the store. So if the peanut butter is 3.50 on sale. Instacart will charge you 4.80 regular price. Their prices are all over the board but on average you are paying 20% more.
Answer: You can't! The only way I got a response from them was when they emailed me to rate my driver and I gave a bad review for her and Instacart. I got an email back. Otherwise, there is no Customer Service! I tried everything under the "Help" section and got nowhere!
Answer: Seriously? They have already scientifically proven that is not spread that way. How many strangers & kids and semi drivers and warehouse people touch your stuff before it even leaves the store.
Answer: No, they don't by policy. But I've found they don't deliver anything else either. Last two orders were cancelled. I dumped my account and told them to keep the gift card balance. Done with InstaCart.
